Absolutely great venue. Nobody crossed the threshold of the building without getting their vaccine card checked. Then a metal detector, then a pat down/bag check, then a ticket check, then an ID check. It sounds like a lot. But my friend and I got through really fast and efficiently. Absolutely great sound and show. We Son Lux play and it was great. Very intimate venue where you can basically be within 20 feet of the stage no matter where you're at. Busy bartenders but friendly. Expensive drinks, but always expect that. Double whiskey and can of hard seltzer were $24. I didn't use the bathroom but my friend did, so I know the women's bathrooms are all the way upstairs. She mentioned they were kinda in disrepair, water on the floor and all that, so heads up. I wouldn't hesitate to come back for a show.

Great place to see a show! The small, intimate venue has great acoustics and old-school architectural features. Ceiling fans help keep the audience cool inside, even if it's below freezing outside. The only drawback was that one cannot go outside between sessions, the time that one would want to get some fresh air. However, if you don't have a good time, it's your own fault. The Beths 3.2.22 and Bob Mould 2.23.19 - both rocked!

Metro is a great venue and very intimate. I’ve seen a couple of my favorite bands here and it’s small enough to really enjoy them.

Metro is an Iconic Chicago venue. If you’re an audiophile who loves their music live, more likely than not you’ve either been here on numerous occasions or have experienced live footage of your favorite band playing here at some point or another. My most recent experience was attending Chicago Reader’s Best Of Chicago celebration. Definitely catch a show here sometime soon! P.S. i highly recommend not driving to the venue as finding parking can be a nightmare (use spot hero to make it less chaotic). If you must drive check the street for the signs, to avoid getting towed/ticketed as it gets especially sus during the game days.

No notification when the show time got changed other than an update on the website. We stood out in the cold for 2.5 hours while it was 6°F because our ticket said different. Bouncer gave me a hard time over my 100% real ID and the drinks were super expensive. I won't be coming back to a show here ever again.

Visited the Metro from Kansas City for an Everything Everything concert. There's easy access to the venue from the Riverfront area and downtown Chicago via the L and a short walk so if you're visiting like us you can get away without an Uber/Lyft etc. We arrived about and hr after doors and there was no issue getting in quickly. IDs are checked at the door, then tickets inside and another quick ID check if you want a booze bracelet. I like that there's a coat and purse check. With shows during colder weather it can get hot inside the venue in winter coats so I really like that I could check it for 4 bucks. It was quick and easy too. Wasn't impressed with the drink selection. Not the biggest hard seltzer or beer fan, or hard liquor for the matter so I would have liked to see some ciders or like Mikes Hards. It's definitely smaller venue and fills up quickly so get there early if you want to get closer to the stage. I like that the stage seemed to be more elevated than average so even well in the back you could still see the band well. Overall it's a nice smaller venue and I really enjoyed the concert there.

Bring earplugs or they also sell them there for like a buck. Your noise canceling headphones also work for this purpose. Pregame at G-Man next door if you’re into dives. Big Star a few blocks away for good food and drink. Chicago style hot dogs and other food like that across the street.

Great venue! Another favorite of mine. They do not serve Old Style, but have a good selection of domestic and craft beers. And yes, beer is expensive here. It's a venue in Chicago. That is just how it is. Great sound, great atmosphere. Been coming here for years.

First of all I want to say that the venue itself is ok and the sound was pretty good. However the security staff were some of the rudest and most aggressive people I have ever experienced. I've been going to metal and hardcore shows for 25 years and this was the first time I was afraid, not of the crowd but of the incredibly aggressive security staff. After the show one of them literally threw a girl that couldn't have been more than 100lbs out onto the icy sidewalk. I thought that security was supposed to protect the guests and not make them feel uncomfortable.

Saw Portugal The Man. As a short person, the view left much to be desired. Fun atmosphere and a rare find in the merch store made this a memorable visit.

This venue is awesome. The staff is amazing. My disabled friend and I attended a show, and the staff did everything they could to accommodate us! Between the beautiful historical setting, a venue without a bad seat (seriously, the ADA section in the balcony gave us an amazing view of the stage) and a great location, it was so fun! Can't wait to go back!

Always love going to the metro, good views from mostly anywhere, sound is on point and the vibe is great. A truly iconic Chicago rock and roll venue.

I was here for a show this past weekend from out of town. Came from Minneapolis to see Mac Ayres and it was my first time ever at this venue. I honestly loved the venue and would travel to come see my favorite artists perform here again! The aesthetics are awesome. Old theatre redone for modern shows. The place isn’t a big venue but it isn’t small either. Just in that sweet spot enough to get an intimate feel for a show anywhere you stand within a large crowd. But honestly the thing that blew me away was the sound quality! I can honestly say this is hands down the best sounding venue/theatre I’ve been to ever. Don’t know if it has something to do with the sound design or good audio engineers but whatever it is, keep doing it! I help as stage crew at different venues in Minneapolis, and the sound quality is nowhere near what this place provides. The audio wasn’t muddy or overdone with bass. Every aspect of instruments and voice are crisp and clear. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Great little venue! Loved seeing the Arkells away from home in a small intimate setting.

Good venue with ornate interior right across from Wrigley Field. Extremely easy to get to by transit and well incorporated into the surrounding area. I like the layout where everyone is very close to the stage, downside being that some areas are pretty far off to the side. The balcony is really nice and I highly recommend grabbing some of the bar type seating which is off to the side of the balcony. Definitely one of the better venues in the city with an intimate feel.

Metro is one of the greats in Chicago, the best security in town, acts that will blow your mind, drinks that a strong made by a bar staff that match the drinks strong badasses!.! When your done with your show take your wristband down to smartbar foor one more drink and some dancing ! Metro was also a huge part of save our stages during the pandemic so buy some merchandise, tip well, nd party on.

Great small-mid sized venue located by Wrigley field. Music is never too loud. There's a nice balcony railing to view from along with the main floor. I have been too many shows here from pop to electronic to metal.

Saw Fortunate Youth here what an awesome venue for an amazing band. You can not be unhappy at this venue... especially with Fortunate Youth on the bill. Would love to see another show there.

Absolutely love this venue! Have been going there since i was 14 years old, And well 22 years later still the best smaller venue to see huge touring acts and last minute pop up shows. Have also had the wonderful opportunity to film here on several occasions. The stave is amazing and is just an absolutely amazing place to see a show... If you have never seen a show at the metro in chicago. You are definitely missing out if you're a real concert goer!

Fun evening at this event (the one where Botch was playing tonight). I got no complaints about this theater. I'd gripe about the fact that buying drinks is cash only, but with that crowd tonight, I'd imagine it'd be hell on the bartenders if they managed tabs, so I'll give it a pass based on circumstances. Had tons of fun in the theater, and I'd definitely come back if they had more metal bands performing there. (I also love it when they have techno music playing upstairs, too, like Smartbar).

Had a good time didn’t expect the venue to be so small sound was gonna in and out a tad bit. People living with disabilities: didn’t see much accommodation spaces on the GA floor, it is a standing room venue. There is a balcony, please contact venue for accommodations. ALSO, this venue is checking for COVID-19 vaccinations!

Easily my favorite venue in Chicago! Their staff are great at what they do, the space itself is clean and has never felt too crowded, entry/exit from the venue is usually smooth and well organized, I’ve really only had positive experiences here. Unfortunately the venue is not accessible as the only way into the concert space is up a flight of stairs but this is honestly the only negative I’ve found about this venue.
