Sunday at around 6:30pm employees turned off the TVs, and at 6:52pm they turned off all the lights and left customers working in the dark. One of those was elderly. I get it you want to go home, but that's someone's grandma. What if she or someone has poor visual acuity, especially in the dark? It really is inconsiderate and isn't cool. We're paying membership fees and the club is open until 7pm, lights take 1 seconds to turn off, there's is no reason to do that until everyone exits.

I'm 67 and never had a membership at a club before so I was skeptical but my experience with Planet Fitness has been wonderful. Their Judgement Free Zone policy is just that. I work out nobody bothers me but if I need help the staff and any member I have asked has gone out of their way. I've been a member for 3 months and have been loving it.....

I love how friendly and helpful the staff is. Kudos to Vanessa at the Foster/Irving Park gym for keeping the facility tidy and for being so helpful. The facility is always clean as I see the staff constantly cleaning machines, lockers, and the floors. The fees are very reasonable. Highly recommended!

I'll update my review to be more specific. Planet fitness is now allowing kids 14-19 to workout for free over the summer. I see the reason for the policy and appreciate the attempt by planet to get people into the gym. At the same time my membership cost the same amount although i'm dealing with a gym which is way busier, packed with kids who are blatantly not following any rules/etiquette. The workers are helpful and I appreciate them, but the policy couldn't possibly be solved by the workers constantly giving people a heads up to chill out. I'm there to workout, not to be a mini sheriff walking around making sure the workers are aware of every 14 year old causing trouble. Its only $20 a month so ill bite my tongue, but if I had one request it would be to start taking paying members time more seriously by breaking up the groups of kids who are hogging equipment and asking people who are hanging out rather than working out to just leave.

!!!! Warning to all the women that go to this gym!!!! They are now allowing men inside the womens locker room. Be whatever you want to be but I don’t want a man who thinks they are a woman using the same bathroom, shower, and locker room as me. There is little to no privacy in there and this is crossing the line.

Definitely not as good as ZIP fitness though for as little as $10 a month with what do you expect. They simply do not have as much free weights as Zip Fitness once had which has me looking at other options for a gym membership. The parking lot is huge and you can always find parking. Hours have improved from Zip Fitness. A good gym for someone who is a beginner to an intermediate.

This Planet Fitness location is very enjoyable! My favorite part about working out here is the front desk staff. They greet you with a smile, they are so helpful if you need anything, and they keep the gym very clean. I would like to especially recognize Alberto who makes it so easy to check into the gym. 10 out of 10 times I am walking into the gym with my hands full. He has made an effort to be on a first-name basis and helps checks me in without having to fumble for my phone, open the app, and get scanned in. I love working out here and hope more people come check out this location!

The Weekday Morning staff here are ROCKSTARS!! Always greeting everyone, constantly deep cleaning, sanitation stations are kept fully stocked. Which is super important, since it's still cold and flu season. Plus, no one likes other peoples sweat. Now the Weekend crew here is NOT good! Faces in their phones, zero acknowledgement, dirty restrooms, trash cans over flowing. Asked a young blonde gentleman if he had any paper towels, since 3 machines were empty. His response was to ask me if ALL the machines were empty. Idk if every machine in the gym was out, but a client having to walk to 3 empty sanitation stations should be enough to get off your phone and refill. I highly recommend this Foster location once the weekend crew is retrained, as the weekday teams keep this place clean and functional for everyone.

This location staff is amazing. They were more than accommodating some of my special needs. All equipment was functional and well padded, although machines seem very outdated even compared to Compton California location. There's no dressing rooms in the locker rooms, and their lockers aren't very accommodating for high security padlocks. What seemed to be the regular gym members were very polite, even struck up conversation or two. I rated three stars because it's 2023. I figured they would update the equipment here by now and have dressing rooms, especially since they've earned a 4.7 star rating at the time of writing this review.

The place is highly populated since many people in this area. Of course, if you come extremely early or late at night, you have a much better chance of getting use out of the machines. Many member sit on the phones in between reps, so they are spending more time on the machines than necessary. During busy hours, which is anywhere between 12pm-8pm, the machines are all in use, and many people do NOT wipe down their machines before moving to their next destination. I would not recommend this place is you are looking to get a QUALITY workout in, but rather a brief sweat or quick jog on the treadmill. Wish more places had a limit to the number of members could enter the building at a time so the workouts would be more consistent and beneficial.

This location is spotlessly clean, and the staff are extremely nice. I feel safe and comfortable there even though I'm very inexperienced. The fitness trainer, April, is knowledgeable, encouraging, and somehow convinced me to do crunches.

Here is the superecrowd in every part of the day. I am writing this on Saturday 8:17am and it looks like it is Monday 7.00 PM. Not enough room to stretch. They placed the machines at a distance of about 1m. They have a very small, dumbbell row station, and the benches are very little apart, so if you pick up a long barbell, you'll be in the way of people passing by. No punching bag. Those who like to exercise and those who like space should avoid this place. This place is only good for those who want to run on a treadmill (of which there are many).

It's a nice facility. Unfortunately people camp at the equipment, use machines for purposes unintended, and move equipment and don't put it back. Free weights and bars are the worst culprits. I've seen a few times where people use the benches at the bars to lift free weights and don't move the bench out of the way or share the bar if you'd like to do a few squats, for example. Employees are kind but don't seem to circulate the gym to address these kinds of issues.

My favorite planet to go to! Can be busy at times but it's typical for a gym, I use the crowd meter on the app to try to beat it but sometimes my schedule doesn't line up. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Even when I canceled during covid and rejoined on the way out I always say thank you and they still remembered my name. The staff always walks around cleaning and restocking. I also tan and the bulbs are always strong and not burnt out like some tanning salons. I'm so happy with this place.

For the past few months I have become increasingly disappointed by the service, or lack thereof, offered at this gym. Do not allow the low price point to draw you in. Once a machine breaks, it NEVER gets fixed. I have informed staff members at the front desk about broken equipment multiple times, only to return days later to see these machines still broken and without an "out of order" sign attached to them. I will be discontinuing my gym membership there, as well as encouraging all of the friends I have recommended the gym to, to do the same.

Professionals know health risks involved with wearing masks is like suffocating in your own pneumonia breeding muzzle while doing high intensity work outs at the gym. Not healthy. It’s common sense.

I travel a lot so I like that there are so many locations throughout the US. I can always find a Planet Fitness to workout at not far from wherever I am staying. And the membership price just cannot be neat!

I really enjoy the cleanliness of the facility. The staff is friendly and helpful. As someone with anxiety, I appreciate the crowd meter in the app. The assortment of equipment I'd also great! I feel really comfortable at this location.

Since the reopening on June 26, the Planet Fitness in Chicago (Foster) has provided an extremely positive experience, so happy to have them back. The safety precautions are excellent, yet not obtrusive, and the staff has been wonderful. I'd also like to give a special shout out to Jose, who is the epitome of Customer Service. Keep up the good work, Planet Fitness!!

I had to call my bank and pay a $30 fee to stop my card from being charged because the workers from this planet fitness don’t know how to cancel a membership. I went to their store in person to cancel the membership. The worker at the counter confirmed that it was canceled but I still kept getting charged. If you want to cancel your membership just do it through your bank otherwise you’ll just end up losing a lot of money if you go in-store to cancel your membership. The workers clearly don’t care, don’t know what they’re doing, or both.

I got a personal trainer,But I told them sometimes I don’t have the same schedule, so I will have to let you know what days I am available in the day. I said I could do Friday’s but there will be weeks that I can any days. They will cancel until next Friday’s so there’s where weeks Without using the personal trainer and they will still changing me for it, and when I tried to cancel they said I can’t

A friendly place to work out. The staff always greets with a smile. The facilities are kept clean and the exercise equipment is well maintained. Never had any issues here.

Front desk employee Melissa was extremely rude and unprofessional to me the first day I stepped in to sign up. It took a while to get her attention as she was preoccupied on her phone and would not even give customers her undivided attention away from her cell phone and after not being helped and asking for a manager I was told by her that I can come back another day if I want to talk to a manager. I asked if there was a name for the manager or a card she told me no so I went and found another employee who went and gave me the name and number and card to the manager.

There is no circuit 30 minute express workout as no one follows the posted rules and staff refuses to enforce. If one can use a machine labeled 30 min Express for as long as they like than the 30 min circuit workout is not feasible. Staff was rude (not all) as are some members. I will go to the local CrossFit gym where circuit workouts are followed. It only takes a couple losers to ruin the customer experience.

Planet fitness is a nice clean place but to many fat people sitting on machines, texting or playing games. They told me I can't have a gym bag on the floor. I train hard and have water in it, the drinking fountain is closed. A gym will show you results if while your there you train hard, play on your phone somewhere else

I canceled my membership last Sunday and they charged me 39 fees on Monday. I asked u dont have any balance. I didn't enter almost 8 months because corana virus i was get responses for them but they started charged full amount. I decided cancel account .never again join this company .I dont recommend for them they not desert anything. Just cancel and muve other ones

Planet Fitness at Harlem and Foster has everything a person may need to get and stay in shape. The staff is friendly and always there to help if you have any questions. I have the black card membership and the equipment in that area, for the most part, is available all the time without a wait. I highly recommend this location!

Cheap membership for basic workout equipment. I typically only have time to go late night or early morning so there is never any wait for machines, plenty of space. Equipment is kept clean and overnight staff is always friendly. Just wish it was 24/7 on Friday-Sunday as well.

My name is Kenny Lena i have to say this is the best gym i have ever worked out at i can't see myself finding a new gym to work out at i have to say i can conquer anything all my goals of working out at this gym environment the people that I've become friends with and the staff i can't say enough about The boss in charge to all the other staff members always protecting every client that works out in that gym with this virus going around anyone that's not wearing a mask the correct way there on top of it one of the staff members name is Billy he is like the sheriff at the gym always watching out for us! The only down fall they have from me and others and the gym is the music! The music they play we can't understand the words they never Play 60 70s and 80s music it's always black rap music! How about at Planet Fitness you have everything going for you besides the music how about playing the music (60 70s and 80s) Planet Fitness for ever!

Do not recommend to even start membership with them. They said “we canceled” when I went there but they did not. Planet fitness has been charging me for over a year after cancellation. So unpleasant experience.

I’ve been going to Planer Fitness since it was Zip Fitness, but the most progress I’ve made has been since I started personal training sessions with April. April has been committed to helping motivate me to achieve my fitness goals. Everyday I find myself learning something new, becoming stronger than the day before, and continuously challenging myself. I highly recommend trying out the classes Planet Fitness has to offer with April!

April is such an amazing trainer! Ever since I started my fitness journey she has been motivating me and helping me reach my goal! It is hard to find a trainer that will push you to your full potential and believe you can achieve more than when you think. With her guidance and expertise I have learned how to correct my stance and complete appropriate workouts. If you go to Planet Fitness try out April’s classes she makes sure that you’ll get a workout! Her classes may challenge you but you’ll leave knowing your full potential!

It's ok. If you like cardio and tanning for cheap this is the place for you.

So I was went to see how this new social distancing looks like and let me tell you I would definitely hesitate to work out in such strange conditions Firstly carrying a heavy bottle in the first place is obstacle, than wearing mask while exercising for example running is beyond inconvenient, you can easily exercise outside without strange and inconvenient rules and worrying who might exercise next to you.

Masks are required again and the staff takes it very seriously, so if your mask falls off your nose during a workout they will get mad at you. Everyone has masks on, which isn’t healthy at all during a workout. This is all about a political agenda, and not your health. If you like to work out with a mask on and barely breathe, this is the perfect place for you. If you have a health condition, there is no exemption. Everyone must wear masks now including the vaccinated, so be aware of that or else you will get kicked out. I am not blaming the gym or the staff because they are very respectful, but they take it way too seriously.

Honestly, I wouldn’t go to this gym; it’s very secluded, which equipments are all too close to each other, and points directly too the window. Not only that, but customer service did not welcome me, as the guy looked at me and looked away. Guess he’s never seen a Hispanic before. Oh he was white! So I’ll go to Diversey Harlem, where a black says hello when you come in and have a nice day when you leave. Two stars cause there’s a jewels and a Taco Bell.
