Dude, in the background and his brown dog running towards him, attacked and bit a small dog. The Mexican family of the small dog was traumatized and the dog of course was too. If you know your dog is small dog aggressive, don't take him where they are. Go to a trainer, use an e collar. Do better, dude.

Create amazing memories with your four legged friend and bring them to this fenced-in beach. This place is a doggy paradise where they all get to live their best lives. Some love to run into the water. Some like to run around with other dogs. Mine likes to go up to random people and beg them for food ๐Ÿ˜‚. Regardless, bring your dog here if you want to cram a weeks worth of exercise into one afternoon.

Overall still had fun with my dog but some of the other owners are not very responsible and do not keep watch over their dogs. If your dog is well trained itโ€™s not so much of a problem, but when I was sitting on my blanket a dog came up and peed on me, no owner in sight. It wouldโ€™ve been nice to at least receive an apology. Additionally people should pick up after their dogs and take their trash with them when they leave, itโ€™s just common courtesy. Managed to look past these things because my dog was happy and having fun, but still, please be respectful.

My dog loves it here, so it gets five stars. Can be chaotic especially in the summer, but itโ€™s a dog beach!!!! Love enjoying the lake with my dog and friends!

The beach is awesome! Unfortunately people being their unfriendly dogs here My dog was running laps around the beach when she was bit by a dog sitting on a blanket with its family.

Large beach! Plenty of space to spread out. Iโ€™ve been the past few weekends and had no issue finding parking and never felt over crowded.

We love this beach for our pup. They have a dog washing area after you leave. The machine is presently 10.00 for 15 minutes or 15.00 for 10 minutes.

Love this dog beach. If you go early no issues with parking and the crowd is always a good group that watches their animals. very rarely do you come across an unfriendly dog or an excessive humper who's owners are not watching them.

Montrose dog beach is always an exciting, chaotic, and thrilling time for me and my buddy. Iโ€™d recommend being a toy you donโ€™t mind getting lost, chairs and towels you donโ€™t mind if they get urinated on. There are no food options nearby, so bring food but leave it in the car or else itโ€™s guaranteed to get stolen by a fur baby. Bring a beer because when the dogs start running, things get wild.

I love this beach and my dog does too. The dog beach is a fenced in area in and pretty clean. The dog owners are usually good and so are the pooches. Sandy beaches and clean water so you and your dog will have plenty of fun. They even have self dog washing stations. Brings your flip flops and sun tan lotion cause your dog is going to want to stay. Parking gets difficult the later you arrive, early mornings are the best and the beach isnโ€™t as crowded.

I donโ€™t have a dog but it is another level experience seeing dogs all get along in the lake. Running fast and the ridge above is a perfect spot to watch safe from the splashing. This is also where I took my 26 year old cat to see the lake before I had to put him to sleep.

An amazing place for our fur babies. Fenced and very safe for them to run around. Our Benny loved it and will coming for the rest of the summer.

Our dog loved the beach! The water was a little cold for him but there were all the smells to be smelled by a beagle! Some dogs were toy aggressive but my dog doesn't care for toys...I'm hoping the dog wash will open soo .

This beach is pretty amazing. It's huge, so your dog will have plenty of room to run. The lake stays shallow for a long way, so they can splash around when if they're not big swimmers. On nice weekend days, expect it to be slammed. If you can go during off hours, or in the winter, you may get it to yourself.

Weโ€™ve been lucky with the mild winter and had a chance to go during the weekend in February. Itโ€™s a nice, open space for the pups to roam free. There is a gate separating the dog and human beach, but I can see dogs accidentally roaming to that side if the tide is low. No issues with cleanliness or aggressive dogs when we were there.

My dog loves this place. Off leash running around and socializing. All the dogs we have encountered there are well behaved. It can get a bit crowded in the evening hours.

Let your dog off the leash and play freely with other dogs on a beautifil smooth sand beach that has its own separate area. Shallow waters allow you to wade out about 100 feet knee high.

Great place to take your dog. Just wish the city would get rid of the damn lifeguards.

I have been here a couple times. Itโ€™s very nice. Both of my dogs seemed to enjoy it. Even my dog who doesnโ€™t really like to interact with other dogs and most people, enjoyed it here! All kinds of doggies here! The dogs are adorable and the people are nice here.

Very nice place to hang out with dogs and friends. Not clean for swimming though, be careful. It is not directly connected to the "human" beach, got to walk very far.

Best place to take my high energy Shepard/collie in the entire city. When itโ€™s off season you can walk your dog off leash all the way up and down the beach. Even in the summer there is still plenty of room to run big laps and burn extra energy in the water.

Pup loves it. Way bigger than Belmont, a proper beach that humans as well as dogs can enjoy. Plenty of room to run and lie down.

It was the best beach experience watching dogs swim n frolic, spending time, swimming n playing in the water, I wish there was a disabled persons walk way closer to the shore, those monolith sized steps are killers to climb.

Totally worth the drive and traffic into Chicago to have our girl swim at this beach. It was sandy, clean and the locals were friendly. Everyone was respectful and there were no issues between any of the dogs. I definitely recommend checking it out.
