I've been a member of Planet Fitness for a while, and while the gym itself is nice and the staff are generally friendly and helpful, the chronic issue of the gym not opening on time has become a major frustration. On a recent Sunday morning, I arrived at 7:45 am, expecting the gym to be open as advertised. However, to my disappointment, the doors were still locked, and there were already 15 cars in the parking lot with 4 gym-goers patiently waiting by the entrance. This isn't the first time I've encountered this problem, and it's becoming a significant drawback to my overall experience. The fact that the gym wasn't open by 8 am, despite having 15 cars in the lot and several people waiting, is unacceptable. I live about 18 minutes away from this location and choose to make the drive even though there's a closer LA Fitness just 3 minutes away. The inconsistency in opening times is a major letdown, especially when I can rely on a nearby alternative to open as scheduled. If Planet Fitness is going to advertise a 7 am opening time, they need to ensure that the doors are unlocked and ready for business at that hour. To address this ongoing issue, I would suggest implementing a scheduling change with an on-site manager being responsible for opening the facility on Sundays because whoever is in charge of this responsibility has just been negating it. This could help improve the gym's punctuality and provide a more reliable experience for members who choose to start their day with an early workout. I suggest looking at the camera footage to actually see how many people have tugged on that door or left this lot in the span of the alleged opening time. Thank-you.

When I came in, there were alot of people crowded around the desk. It was late afternoon and the teen program was going. Young lady greeted everyone and ran the desk like a drill sergeant until it was empty. That was my first day and it was a good one. A few months in and I still like it. I go early morning. It's not very busy but it's not empty. It's clean and great customer service. They have a trainer now.

Cold water showers everyday is not acceptable. I read the great reviews about this club & joined, unfortunately female members were withholding the fact that you can not take a standard shower after your workout. Today, another member was showering & had the same complaints I had my 1st visit (two days ago)... The showers would not get hot & when they get warm it is only for a minute then you get ice cold water spraying you. This is not acceptable at any gym that offers showers, nevertheless this is clearly a daily issue at this planet fitness that needs to be correctly fixed asap.

I can't believe this place is still open. Poor customer service, sketchy parking lot, and very unpleasant staff. Their lack of caring had me concerned about the cleanliness of the place. I certainly wouldn't suggest going there at night.

John whitaker is a manager and recovered a lost debit card and made multiple charges. His coworkers tried to cover it up, claiming they didn’t know him. Do not trust this unprofessional place. He also walked into the ladies bathroom! Full story is on TikTok @imdigitalbae

Management DOES NOT enforce mask wearing at this location! 1 out of every 5 member In this location is walking around with no mask and employees are too busy having conversations with each other to enforce mask wearing. I will be escalating this issue to corporate. I will be canceling and ask for my money back because this is reckless and irresponsible!

Visiting Chicago from out of town, after scanning in, an overweight black lady with an attitude told me she needs my ID to use the the gym. Asked her is the membership active with black card access, she said “yes, but you are from New York and that’s suspicious so I want to see your ID”

Today was my first time here. I had A great workout. The place has plenty of equipment, and it is very spacious and clean😉

I like planet fitness. The location I go to is on 83rd and Stewart which use to be 24 hours. Now, they are 24 hours Monday to Thursday only. I am not sure if this will stick. However, 80% of the staff is friendly and welcoming while the other 20 I believe are there to see which girl they can smash excuse my language. Nevertheless, it is a nice and fairly clean establishment. They need to start up keeping their equipment though as far too often I see, " out of use"

A calming and safe environment. Most definitely will come back. I recommend this place if you like to workout in an environment where there is not that many people.

The employees really keep this gym clean and organized. I’m VERY big on customer service and being polite/respectful. This gym needs to change up their front desk staff IMMEDIATELY. I came in to purchase a membership and the young lady (AIESHA) I hope I spelled her name right. She was on the phone with her back facing the door. I had to say hello to get her attention. She didn’t hang up the phone; she put the person on hold and asked what I needed; I told her and gave her my ID and phone. She proceeded to lay my items on the desk and then got back on the phone briefly and then hung up. If I’m paying my money to a company, I expect GREAT customer service. If AISHA wasn’t the first person I met at this PF; I would’ve given this gym 5 stars. This gym needs to do better with hiring people that will be working the front desk! 💯💯💯

Being a member since 2018, I am very disappointed with this club as of lately. The free weight area stays atrocious. I can't decided between the seeing dumbbells, weight plates, armbells and even benches all over the gym for days, or the fact that most of the equipment is covered in dust. Even the signs throughout the club are dusty. And don't get me started on the spider webs.The paper towels at the"Cleaning Stations" are seldomly filled. The only area guaranteed to be cleaned is the locker room, but only during certain times of the day. The customer service is good at times, but how are you going to oversell something that's not presentable in any way shape or form? Also, I'm pretty sure PF can afford to have security. The staff has to deal with all types crazy.

The gym was clean and well managed. This was my first time using it since covid. They offer a personal use cleaning bottle to wipe down your equipment as you go. I will definitely be back!

I just want to know is it inappropriate to compliment women who clearly been putting work in....I've seen a few beautiful women while working out and I can't help but look

The staff.them self was okay but they say they trick people with this billing is crazy. $51 to join $10 monthly and for being such a good member another $39 after 2 months and not to mention if you want to leave that just an extra 58. Had me not coming back any time soon

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FACILITY IS GREAT! The staff is very helpful & professional! The gym area, locker room, & the washroom are always clean! I enjoy working out at this facility! The massage chair & the massage bed are AMAZING!!

This place is spacious, clean, functioning equipment and great staff.

I hate to write a negative review, but this is the second week in a row that I've gone to work out excited and walked out of this place within 5 mins. I've been coming here for at least 7 to 8 years and must say the staff is great, they keep the gym and the equipment clean. However, when it comes to fixing the equipment the time frame is super slow. I've gone to several different gyms and Planet fitness and I don't understand why this location only has two Stair Masters and right now, it's down to one and has been like this for over a month now. Every other Planet Fitness that I have gone to has had at least four machines. Not only has the machine been broken for sometime now, a lot of the equipment such as the cardio machines are outdated. Not sure why Calumet Park and the one on 47th and Lake Park street have way more better equipment than this location, but I wish whoever is over this establishment would replace the old equipment. Again, staff and the people are great. Just need better equipment to work with..

Amazing experience every time I enter the PF doors. I have other gym memberships and thr gym makes the workout experience o e of a kind. Kind and friendly day staff members who are devoted to maintaining the gym and keeping it clean. Much love to the staff for doing such an amazing job.

There is one thing I would love to see at Planet Fitness ( hopefully one day it will happen) I would love to see a Planet Fitness with a pool.

Staff is always friendly and helpful machines cleaned and weights are where they suppose to be Walmart Aldi's and several other stores are in the immediate area i can work out and run several errands in the same area

This is my home gym and it’s a great location. It does tend to get crowded at about 730-8am and 3-4pm. It’s pretty clean and all the equipment is cleaned all day. I go early morning 430am and they’re cleaning at that time. I also I go in the afternoon and they’re cleaning again. The staff are always so nice and helpful. The equipment is kept up quite well. The black card section is clean and well maintained. I love the area. I do recommend the blackcard membership. Has a lot of perks!

Just recently started going back here and it's changed a bit. There are newer machines and more equipment however there are a few that are not working and there are some leaks impacting a few. Regardless there are plenty for folks to use, especially if members are not holding them up to mess around on their phones. I like the fact that there are multiple cleaning stations but they need to be better monitored for adding paper towel. There are plenty of spray bottles all over the place.

I absolutely hate to change my original rating because this specific rating is NOT based upon the overall staff but just 1 employee, her name is Chelle. She is the only employee that consistently works weekends & she does a very poor job of maintaining it by herself. There is rarely paper towel in the paper towel dispensers, she does not provide bottles of disinfectant at the front desk & because of that most of the bottles of disinfectant are often not at paper towel dispensers because the members are basically just doing what’s necessary based upon her poor service. I’ve rarely ever seen her clean the gym. For the most part she just stands at the desk. And just recently this past Saturday she turned alll of the lights out in the gym while members were still trying to maneuver through the gym to leave. It was pitch black in the gym at 6:55pm & there were still a nice amount of people trying to find their way through the dark to get to the locker room.I have video footage of this because I had to use the light of my camera to make it to the locker room. If someone had fallen, or hurt themselves on the machines it could’ve easily resulted in a lawsuit. But the worst part is that while I understood that perhaps the objective was to encourage members to leave out in a timely fashion. However, she herself was still navigating through the dark at 7pm to clean up the gym like she was supposed to do during her shift but did not. It’s unfortunate that out of all of the other employees & staff that I’ve seen so far, she is by far the worst. And she is allowed to work a weekend shift that definitely requires someone more proactive about maintaining the wonderful customer service skills, the cleanliness of the gym, & the professionalism of planet fitness that the rest of the staffing seems to provide efficiently throughout the weekdays. She does work one day out the weekday & on that day she conducts herself the same way she does on weekends. It’s absolutely the worst.

Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and well maintained. Other members are polite and practice good gym etiquette while working out. I enjoy my time spent working out there.

This is one of the better PFs in the area to me. Equipment is newer, it is very spacious, well lit, but not too bright. Staff is friendly. Just wish it was 24 hours on the weekends.

“Great location with plenty of space and machines” was initially my original thoughts on this location. Though a recent encounter with Management made me want to cancel services… Such a bummer, how leadership can change an entire relationship to a space.

I’m fine with the way things are at the gym, it’s cool to me! Customer service is fine as well, and everything is clean, that’s the way that I like it!

The staff is very friendly and accommodative. Equally, I enjoy the ambience-- people who don't know you are friendly -- no one acts like a stranger. It's like we're all in this -- healthy living --together. Fortunately, I am and have been for decades very healthy. I eat right, workout, take care of my body, particularly now as I journey towards losing nearly 20 pounds of UNREQUESTED COVID weight. Within two weeks I lost 7 lbs. So now I am happily and merrily enroute to losing the remaining 10 pounds and at my youthful age 77 I will soon regain my bikini svelte body!!!!

I walked in with concerns about my membership, the young man was very helpful and even contacted the other locations to help me switch my membership. He then proceeded to update my key tag. I appreciated his level of professionalism and going above and beyond.

I have had great and easy experiences here. Everyone is clean and does their part. I had an issue with my account and the new manager took care of it. The workers have great customer service. It's not often I see machines not working. I love it here.

The policy said no training in and they are training with no masks on. Brandon is a liar. He said I tried to hit the trainer with a dumbel. Omg terrible place to workout. Very unprofessional

I give this location 4 star's the trainers spent more time behind the desk then working the floor. I'm not sure if they certified or not but it can be discouraged to beginners and those who may have some challenges.

Great staff, very friendly and pleasing to the eyes. I like how they have a table setup for you with personal sanitation bottles when you come in to take around with you to each station. Could use another all-in-one nautilus setup to accommodate more people. I was able to get a productive workout in while out of town.

I would have to say that I like the Chatham Planet Fitness location the best because the cardio machines work, so much space to work out in other areas of the gym, it’s clean, and I am able to watch television while working out. I just like the whole atmosphere and that it’s spacious!

I just joined & it was easy to do. This place is huge. There's plenty of equipment where as you don't have to be near too many people in your area. The staff was everywhere cleaning & doing mask checks. (Which impressed me the most.) The staff was very friendly & knowledgeable of the equipment. #planetfitness

Nice place for an adult or teen to go to. Classic membership $10 dollars a month. That's just for one planet fitness of your choice. The black card membership is $22-23 dollars a month for any planet fitness .They take no cash. All dealings is from your bank account. Have at $25 in your account when you first join. October I think the 1st put $39 or $40 in the bank for their annual fee. Then make sure you have at least $25 dollars in the bank before the 17th of each month. So if your bill is $10 for classic membership or $22 or $23 for bulk card membership they can automatically take their money out. A great investment in yourself and teenagers. A stress reliever and a good way to build up your child self esteem. Congratulations, Welcome to Planet Fitness.

Being that I transferred from one location (City Front Plaza) to another (Chatham), I was worried that the team nor the atmosphere would even compare to the explosive-energy my ex-home gave but I was wrong, the regulars noticed I was new and even welcomed me with " I hope we see more of you" and a few 'jokes' on how a lot of young people such as myself only stop by once or twice. Fitness is LIFE and so far every PF I've visited makes sure that I've felt that. I Love you guys!

Staff are very helpful!!! I wrote this message two years ago and I'm glad to see the staff are still very helpful. I called to cancel my membership tonight but Ray had a listening ear, was patient and very positive. I'm inspired by his act of kindness to stay a member and not give up on myself nor my journey! The front desk representative Shaelle was excellent! Clearly a star team member. She is a great multitasker. Helped my uncle put his new credit card on file and convinced me to transfer my home gym and upgrade to the Black Card! Such a great experience being my first time at this facility.

Planet fitness of Chatham Safe space, Where you can come and work out and not be judged by anyone. And the clients there are so helpful too as well.

This is the worst planet fitness I’ve ever been to! They are supposed to be open on Saturday & Sunday from 7am-7pm, here it is 8:16 and not one worker here. They haven’t even opened the doors. I am highly disappointed.
