This is my second time reviewing and posting this after they deleted it. If you love you dear ones do no take them here. I can not force you but do take my experience as consideration. My grandmother was terribly ill and had respiratory problems, she was transferred there. She survived pneumonia and cancer. Not even a week and we noticed the staff was very irresponsible and negligent. They did not change her and when they my grandfather asked them they took 4 hours. My grandfather stayed there 10am till 6 which are their visiting hours not 24 hours and will not let any visitor in till 10. One time she had call my mother to ask for a drink of water because no one would attend her. My grandfather literally had to search the whole floor to find at least a single staff to attend her. There were times were patients were asking for help or needed something for hours in which the staff didn’t attend them. My grandfather and I had to tell the staff and assure the patient they were coming which took still hours for them to help the patient. We heard a patient in intensive care asking for help and later found out he passed away. My grandmother after weeks finally seemed better and the staff said we could take her home soon. But she the got a terrible stomach pain after taking some pills the staff gave her. They assured my grandfather that she was all right and everything was fine, that she’ll head home even sooner than expected. He was unsure of this, since the beginning, but he left hopeful. I even helped clean the house so she can come home. But sadly the next day she passed way with her mouth open (almost as asking for help) with what we imagine was suffering through pain. They lied about the time of death since the phone call that said she was having trouble breathing didn’t line up with the time my grandfather got there and maybe even lied about the reason of death. Now I have to go through the sorrow of a loss loved one. Please, if you love someone dearly or for yourself don’t come here, go somewhere else, your better off taking care of them yourself.

If you do not take heed to any other reviews. Take heed to this one. If a hospital wants to discharge your love one to Kindred for extended care, please please please, AVOID THIS PLACE and say NO!!!!!! There is no extension of care, or monitoring, or follow-ups. It is an extended, cover-up, nursing home. Unless you throw a fit they are not going to do right by your love one. You are better off taking your love one home and taking care of them your self. They truly do need to be evaluated and revamped. Otherwise this place needs to be closed. No amount of niceness can change the fact that they will fail in the care of your love one who will get sicker if they stay there especially if they are not capable enough of being mobile on their own.

This company employs at least 1 nurse who makes openly and blatantly racist comments on social media. I'd be wary of taking your kids to a hospital where this is the kind of person they might have to interact with. Especially if your kids have any melanin.

Don't do it! If you want your loved one to live more than two weeks, do not admit them to this place. I wasn't going to write a review back in February, when my uncle died, but I just saw an ad saying this was the best rehab facility in Chicago. NOT!! Do not believe the hype. Nurses go missing for hours, loved one abandoned, and no one answers the phone. Nurse didn't even know he had a tracheostomy. What??? He died 11 days later. Wallet was missing, Calle Mike the CEO, at least 20 times, never called back. Sad way to end my uncle's life. If anyone had the same experience, please let me know. This place needs federal regulation.

Okay how do I start, this hospital is so amazing when I walked through the door I felt the spirit of God in that place. The way everyone greeted me was so heart warming. The nurses and staff where like angels from heaven, also cafeteria staff was really helpful towards my auntie with there help with choose the right food for her ,Ms. Pat really put in work with choosing the food for my ill auntie. The Patient Advocate was so sweet, accommodating and patient with the video calls. If I could give 10 Stars to this hospital I will.

I’ve been a patient here for about three weeks now. I just wanted to share my experience so far. Since I was admitted, there have been ups and downs, but I found many lights in the dark. First of all, I had a nurse named Anthony, who is unbelievably caring and well spoken. He let you know everything that’s going on and actually check in on you when you need to be checked in on. It’s surprising how many times nurses just forget you exist and you don’t notice until you get a nurse like him who check in on you and make sure that you’re OK. And then there are two CNA’s that are absolutely phenomenal. There’s Janna And then Patricia. Janna Is always a delight. It helps me get through some of the days when I’m having a Rough time. She’s extremely attentive, caring, and understanding to every situation that you have. She’s gone out of her way to make sure that I have snacks when I need them and talk with me when she notices that I look Lonely. And Patricia, goes out of her way to make sure that I’m taken care of before bed. She has washed my hair multiple times, and she’s the one who asked me if I would like to get my hair washed. She always makes sure I have fresh sheets and feel comfortable. She even put lotion on your feet! And for me, that means the world because I can’t bend over due to my surgery. This review could’ve gone so much worse if it wasn’t for these people, and I praise Kendra for giving these people a platform to care for people because they’re all gifted and talented in the field.

This place is the best long acute hospital compared to the other ones in the Chicago areas. Everyone that works at this location has been very welcoming and friendly. The nurses are compassionate and very helpful. The rehab team works very well with the patients with getting their strength back. Thank you Kindred North!

Overall the care excellent. My nurses are very attentive. One thing I am happy about is when I ask for my medication it’s explain to me very well. The Rehab team Joe, Sunny, Carol, Ally and Jean are all excellent therapists they all helped me reach my goal. The Wound care made sure my skin is taken care of they are very passionate about what they do. June, is very good with preventing my wounds from getting worse. I appreciate it all! I’ve been admitted here numerous of times and the excellent care has not change I would recommend any to this location.

The place it self is horrible . Also the team is horrible my brother had to be put in the ventilator for negligence of the respiratory team. My mom CPR on my brother bc nobody was helping. They were so worried to kick him out the facility . Some nurse are good but most of them they don't care . Nobody those . Please think twice before they transfer your love ones here.

Thank you guys for everything. Family is satisfied we are so glad that we’re able to share our experience to let others know that this is a great Hospital for rehab and other services. We had a science in the beginning but everything was addressed in a timely manner. Staff went above to make sure that we were satisfied and that my uncle was very comfortable while being in his room. the hospital amazingly clean knowing Covid-19 is still here. When my other family visits they always mention to me that they’re comfortable with this location because nursing staff is very attentive and passionate. Again thank you all for everything!

Great staff, great security my cousin feels safe. My cousin was really sick with her lungs she had repertory failure also she suffered from a large wound. I’m so thankful that everyone including her case manager has made sure that everything was addressed. I’m so glad we were able to visit her and when we visit her we knew that she was taking care of her room smelled very clean overall the hospital is clean but our visit we noticed that everything in her room was tidy the walls were clean she has nothing but good things to say about how housekeeping is always clean in her room when she steps out for therapy they make sure that her bed is made and she’s coming back to a clean room. My love one is also mentioning that herNurse makes her feel like a person, they have multiple conversations about her goal and how it is her priority to make her stronger and healthier. I think everyone from the bottom of my heart because this has been a life change for my family for my cousin and we can’t express enough.

All of the nurses, the respiratory team and the rehab team were all very kind and friendly. I recommend Kindred North if you are looking for a long acute care for your loved ones.

Overall, good services however nurses and some physicians in the HAU need to learn how to communicate effectively without having attitudes with the patient and with their family. It seems like we have to be here all the time to tell them to do their job such as repositioning. I understand it's a tough time for nurse's as far as staff shortages, but they lack compassion. It feels as if they don't promote therapeutic communication and lack listening skills.

My brother Harold was admitted into Kindred Hospital at the end of September. He was seriously I’ll. Harold’s was 1st. admitted into icu. He had an excellent care team. At the beginning I spent a lot of time there. He did get better and was moved to the 3rd floor then the 2nd., he also spent time on the first floor. He would often have to be returned to icu for various issues, Every step of the way he was well cared for. The level of care and compassion was beyond anything I had imagined. So much so that when his condition worsened and it was time for hospice I really did not want him to leave Kindred. He was there until December 5 he passed away on December 6, with me by his side, but not with the level of care I had received at Kindred. From the care teams to the cna’s and case manager I will forever be grateful. I don’t want to start naming people because I am grateful for all of you. Thank Karla and Dr Al for making me accept reality but giving me space and time.

While being at Kindred North I would say I am treated like a im a family member. If I could I would stay here forever. The service given to me was amazing. The managers, CNAs, managers, physical therapists, were phenomenal very compassionate and caring. Starting with the Nurse Nicki she is a gem. Nicki treated me like a queen she’s very attentive and professional. I feel she is a great asset to this hospital. Patricia,CNA she made me feel so comfortable and safe. Emma, RN on days she wasn’t assigned to me she still made sure I was attended to. Jean, Physical therapist I love her thrive she’s helped me with meeting my goal. Just overall everyone I’ve met are angels and I am so blessed to have been here. I highly recommend this location. Thank you all!

My father arrived at the hospital on Tuesday August 30. He was there less than half an hour when he fell and cut his head because no one was watching him. When he arrived he was stable and breathing on his own but on September 3 he was brought to the icu and intubated. Since he’s been intubated not one person from his team has spoken to me about his treatment. I have been trying to transfer him to rush in Chicago for the last two days but Kindred refuses to cooperate. As I write this I have no idea how my dad is doing because no one will speak to me even though I am designated as my father’s point of contact. I’m hoping someone from kindred will read my review so I can learn more about his treatment

My love one tested positive for Covid and we were unsure where to send him. After speaking with staff and touring the facility we felt like it was a great place for him to be. This location follows Covid guidelines. Which made us feel very safe. So far the facility is closed for visitation but has been very accommodating with setting up video calls and making sure that my family is getting all the communication that they need. I’m very thankful and I’m hoping that I’m able to visit my love one. Thank you all for taking care of all the patients and going above and beyond during this hard times.

Staff in general are very friendly and outgoing. They’re always available. This location is way better RML, when I was in RML I had a bed they had fishy over the bed and I kept complaining the smell fishy and the staff didn’t wanna do anything about it when I finally found what was coming from I informed them you took them another seven hours before they even ask I do includes it up I need to take a picture for future references please trust me don’t let your family be in RML. The food here is great. The doctors round daily to ensure great care. Especially Dr.Al. This facility always clean housekeeping is always on the floors and in the rooms. Whenever something clean they are always available. My meds are always all time because my nurses are very attentive. I would recommend my friends and family because this location helped me reached my goals.

I took a chance on Kindred despite all the bad reviews and I'm glad I did. The staff from house keeping to the nurses therapist, CNA's, case manager and some of the doctors do an excelente job unfortunately management doesn't support them and it shows on the level of stress of the employees specially the CNA's and they're the ones that have the most contact with patients and they do a great job speaking from my experience, they're way under staff compromising patient's safety. Facilities are clean a little outdated but very clean and they take contact precautions extremely serious. Overall a good experience and they helped my daughter in her recovery. Thank you Kindred!

This place is absolutely horrible. My son was sent there after having a liver transplant and required serious care. The staff is rude and completely incompetent. Most of his clothing and shoes have been stolen and they don’t want to take responsibility for any of it. I am out of state and unable to be there on a regular basis and I’m scared to death of what is happen with him. Please exhaust all resources before sending your loved there. This place should be shut down.

Yesterday was a great day visiting my Aunte for the first time. I’m glad staff was there for her. She seem to be doing way better with her wounds. I can totally see the different. They are making sure she’s clean and being turned on time. That matters allot, when she was at the other hospital They were r doing what they were suppose to do and cause her wounds to worsen. Thank you guys we are very grateful.

What ever you do NOT bring anyone who care deeply to this place! My grandmother died painfully due to their neglection. She would complain of pain and ring for them to come but they never came until hours later. She would have to call us just for a drink of water because they wouldn't come. They would never change her when she needed to be and we had o constantly do their job and REMIND them to do so. It wasn't only my grandmother the other patients were also neglected and yelling of pain. The let them die like animals. They promised us she will return home and even gave us lesson to take of her but the day before she passed. They told us when we came and immediately asked us if we would like to donate her eyes. She barely died ad they were already asking to remove her eyes. So please, If you love those close to you don't bring them here, especially if they will be transferring from Little Company of Mary. Its the worst place. I will keep posting this review every 6 months to remind the people not to commit the same mistake my family did and leave her there. To the person who put the review before me, I went through the same thing
