This is the best Planet Fitness in the City. It's always clean and organized and the music actually is not stuck in one genre. The ventilation force is strong in this one. The Black Card Spa area is well maintained also. Kudos to the staff.

Recently they remodeled the place and it looks much better, I like that they added from small to big items around the place. I like that they divided the stretching area upstairs, making the space bigger, they added more machines and the setup is better. I like the LED lights in the washroom as well as the addition of the hair drier, and the soap in the showers is a plus. The Black card area also got a makeover and it looks better than before. I do miss the chairs in the space after taking a shower, it makes it easier to put on my shoes. I'll keep coming back. The WiFi does not work but hopefully it will get fixed. older review is as follows. Signed up since the gym is not far and it's inexpensive. 10 for just one gym and 22 for access for all locations and you can invite someone with you. As for signing up, I had to come back a few times since they weren't clear on what I needed. But once signed up, I am going on the morning and it's usually not crowded. Plenty of machines and lockers. Got a free shirt unfortunately it's made of cotton so I will not be working out with it. Plenty of parking.

I love planet fitness, its usually such a wonderful and relaxing environment. I've had a black card membership for 6 months now. I use the facility as intended, I go, workout, shower and change, use the black card lounge. I'm also homeless at the moment and so I frequently spend time before or after a shower or workout sitting in the seating area charging my phone. Today at this location i was told not to loiter in the seating area, which was honestly humiliating even though the staff member who told me tried to say it politely.

First time at this location and it leaves up to it's marketing initiative that it it a clean gym. Been coming here a lot. It is very clean. However, I strongly suggest to do some dusting away from people. There are people who are allergic to dust. Will keep coming despite this little inconvenience.

Are you guys ever going to extend the hours? Is so limited and then a line forms at certain times? Could you at least extend the week hours to weekends? If hours will not be extended, will the subscription cost drop? Are your hours dictated by local legislation or is primarily Planet fitness’ choice to have the current limited hours?

Careful when in your app. Upgrades to black cards are immediate and nonrefundable 🙄 Called the next day to downgrade and still being charged a full black card rate. It doesn't ask to confirm or ask for billing, if you click it, it charges you. Called and was told I would NOT be charged the full rate and still was... Decent facility, but I don't respect that desperate approach for upgraded memberships. Lame. Update: was charged a second annual fee of $35 and had to physically go in to get the refund, but the manager was so incredibly kind.

I use this Planet Fitness location right after work, and it's a remarkable gym setup. Many different types of equipment for cardio, weightlifting, stretching, yoga, and cross-fit. The building setup is a 2-floor gym, so there is a lot of space to move around. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesday, usually from 3:00-7:00pm, are fairly busy. Thursdays and Fridays during the same time are not too busy. The staff are super friendly and serviceable, and they keep the gym top-notch and clean. The locker rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms/showers are immaculate. I would keep reiterating that the staff are amazing and friendly. 10/10.

I have been to quite a few Planet’s and this one is by far the dirtiest. It wasn’t crowded because of the time I went in the morning, which was nice. However, the lockers were dusty and grimy, the equipment looked as if it barely had ever been wiped clean, and the treadmill I was on had dirt and gunk on it and in the phone holder area as well. I would have loved to love this location because I just moved and it’s the closest to me, as well as the fact it has an upstairs, but I will have to travel further to a different location unless it’s properly cleaned.

The best Planet Fitness in Chicago. it's a huge gym with a huge parking lot that never gets full. It's a new gym converted from an old rug store. The equipment and gym are in excellent condition. Another bonus are the hours which are 24/7. The Black Card amenities are in excellent working order. Highly recommend this gym if you are visiting from out of town and staying in the area as the guest passes are only $10

Too many high schoolers running around like it’s a playground. Half the time it smells like a portapotty. So many machines always broken or out of service. Half the staff is unfriendly and on their phone, the other half is really nice though. I’ve been a member at 4 different gyms and this is by far the worst one, but I guess you get what you pay for. (Below is a picture of a fingernail that has been there since February 2023)

Much better than the Avondale location. Cleaner,Brighter and Proximity to Equipment and Restrooms is better. You don't have to Travel a Mile to get to things. Only complaint is The Staff as a Whole is too Young. Knowledge of Physiology would be nice and Proper use of Equipment. We need more than a pass by of Equipment as they say this is a leg Machine this is Chest Machine. Demostrations would be nice. Also they spend too much time standing and talking when they could do walk arounds checking on Members,Equipment or Cleaning.

I haven’t been to the gym in almost a year because of COVID. I put my account on hold and forgot to re-up after the three month. On top of being charged a monthly fee, I got charged an annual fee. They refused to refund me because I didn’t contact them in time. In the middle of a pandemic, this is absolutely appalling customer service and incredibly unethical as a business. Don’t waste your time here, they only care about your money.

Too much cardio, but that's just the PF way. Overall the gym is great super clean one of the new 24/7 spots. Only cons are the drink cooler which is somehow always empty, the water fountain on the men's bathroom side is super slow and the water tastes like it's straight from the toilet, and 1 machine is broken every day minimum. Solid place though 👍👍👍

What’s not to like? Big gym with plenty of machines, free weights, and cardio equipment. The entire place is kept especially clean, including the locker rooms and bathrooms. I find that members do a pretty good job of wiping down equipment after use. The staff is always friendly too. Happy to call this my regular gym.

I had a great experience today. One of the employees Maria T, was wiping down the machine. I did not know how to set one of the machines and in less then 5 minutes she explained it to me and i was on my way to success. Thank you Maria and Planet for a great workout

Awful experience. Just know that if you utilize their parking lot while inside the gym, you WILL get robbed. My window was broken and everything important to me was taken. After talking with an employee, they told me I was the THIRD ROBBERY THAT DAY at their location. Three. Just. That. Day. Please protect yourself and your belongings. Robbers are targeting this gym specifically, and the kind lady at the police station told me that she, alone, has handled several cases at this location.

After paying my membership for a year without attending due to the pandemic, I called hoping to cancel my membership. They immediately quoted policy to me and said I can only cancel by coming in person or sending A CERTIFIED LETTER. What is this 1980? I am unable to cancel any way that is convenient for me. When I asked them to stop quoting policy and just talk about ways we could accomplish this, the MANAGER hung up on me. I had not raised my voice, but merely asked not to have to come into the gym during COVID to process my cancellation. Was that really too much to ask? Apparently so.

Could use some improvements. A lot of the exercise machines unfortunately do not work. They need to fix their machines ASAP.

I have been with this Planet Fitness since it opened I transferred from Avondale. and I have been to 5 others including Milwaukee. This is the best location and I'm glad to see more females were hired. Please have employees watch members time on machines in some case members tie up machines playing on there phones or just talking.

Overall this gym is pretty nice and everything is clean, the only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that I've visited a few times now and the staff has never said a word to me. I don't really care too much but at the other planet fitness I visit they always greet me and are super welcoming and it makes going to the gym less intimidating.

They recently updated all their cardio equipment and the staff are always professional and pleasant. The staff do a great job at maintaining the facilty 24/7. There is hardly anything out of stock or supply. It is clean and tidy. It is usually not busy and customers are pretty chill and courteous.

Clean, large facility with a variety of machines and lots of free outdoor parking. Utilize the PF app, as you can see how busy the location is in real-time to avoid crowds. Tanning beds are clean, though there are no machines for the HydroMassage, so be aware of this before purchasing the black card membership. Overall great environment with friendly employees.

I LOVE this gym. I like their motto about it being a non judgement zone. They have lots of equipment, so it's usually easy to find something to use. I was psyched because they had a Spanish soap on tonight with subtitles. I left my keys to my padlock and some kind soul turned it in at the desk. Great deal with $1.00 down for the 1st month and $10 per month. 😍

An excellent fitness center. The trainers are: knowledgeable, excited to be working there, determined to learn your name, and appeal to clients of all ages and backgrounds. The facilities are: spacious, VERY clean, well stocked with a variety of modern equipment, and never overcrowded.

The facility are clean and fully stocked. I love the friendly staff. Everyone is always willing to help and explain how the machines work. They even encourage you on your weight-loss journey. I'm so happy to have joined the best gym!

I've been trying to cancel a membership (I was paying for 2 memberships) since December, 2022. It is now late February, 2023 and they are still deducting from my bank account. I've been to both local clubs. They tell me there's no record of a second membership. Record or not, the deductions are still happening. Can't PF just talk to their finance department or their deductions department and just delete my second membership?

This place is ridiculous. You have members who do ONE set on a machine, then sit on their phones for FIVE! Brought it to management attention and they did nothing. Simply put up signs asking members to work out first- talk later. Might be too complicated for them. Their algorithm meter is garbage too- low times on meter- packed in the gym. I’ll checkout 24 Fitness before I dump this place.

One of the few gyms actually taking Covid very serious!! Other gyms needs to take notice. It was a little rough in the beginning, but now I’ve never seen anyone without a mask on correctly. They make everyone have their own bottle of cleanser to wipe down machines with, and everything is pretty spaced out. I do prefer gyms with more amenities, but with things like group classes banned in the city, and equipment blocked off for distancing, the more expensive gyms just aren’t really worth it at the moment. The basic membership is great just as an excuse to get out of the house for the day, and get some exercise safely, as we wait for things to get back to normal.

99% welcoming except this one lady who ignores people when they walk in, other than that, good, cheap gym

Despite new Covid protocols, proper wearing of face masks not enforced. When asked, staff advised that it was okay to expose ones nose. Also, maintenance and repair of equipment is consistently lagging. Understaffed?

I love the fact that Planet fitness in Logan Square Chicago area is super clean and the employees there are super friendly and very helpful. They always have an answer to my questions about workouts and how to use the equipment. Which are very easy to use and the hydro beds are amazing. Planet Fitness you definitely get 2 thumbs up.

It's a cheap gym and you get what you pay for. It's usually at least moderately busy unless you go late at night. Locker rooms seem pretty dirty. There's also bare bones staff....so it is what it is. Staff seems pretty friendly. The machines are usually fixed within a week if they break. Overall it's pretty bare bones. It doesn't break the bank though. I like going here, I go 2-4 times a week. Will continue to use this gym.

Empty drink cooler, except one drink type. Nothing else. I asked when they would refill, and the reply was, “I don’t know. Maybe next week. You would have to ask a manager.” Equipment has torn portions, and they don’t repair it/replace it. Leg machines have had “out of order” signs on them for weeks. You get what you pay for I guess. I’ve had better experiences at Xsport and La Fitness, at similar price points. No frills.

Jay was great at the desk and on the tour. There is always available equipment and a good mixed crowd. Always friendly folks at the front desk. Clean. Worth the black card membership. Those amenities are also always available.

Spoke to the new manager, Eric, and he seems very dedicated to making the Planet Fitness experience positive and enjoyable. He listened to me and I felt valued. Additionally, this particular Planet Fitness is light and bright and the members are friendly. Best $10 I spend every month.

Very friendly staff. The gym is cleaner now but, The music system needs to be replaced. It is annoying... Just turn it off!

The gym is big and clean but the staff is so rude and inattentive to the members at the club. They don’t greet you or when you need something they aren’t available

I’m traveling from out of state and I stopped in to use the tanning room and hydro massage. The tanning room doesn’t work apparently. I had to get undressed and redressed for no reason. Then I decided to hydro massage. I relaxed and scrolled on my phone when the time was up the front desk guy came over and told my I needed to leave pretty much. Why is there no black card lounge here? I wouldn’t recommend any locals choose this gym as there home gym. Planet fitness has much more to offer then this location. Not representative of the brand if you ask me.

I have been regularly attending this gym since last year and I recommend it to everyone I meet. Great vibes. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Always equipment available to workout with and a great way to meet other health-seeking individuals.

Best gym in the city! Super friendly staff. It is always super clean. The machines are awesome and well maintained. Best investment I’ve made for my overall health. ☺️

So my location was flooded one day and I came here, super clean and the machines are newer than at my home location but I found the staff less personable and I wasn't really a fan of the layout also was a bit hot for a gym in my opinion. Points for being clean and modern.

Though I'm just passing through, I'm absolutely thrilled to see Planet Fitness is taking as little risk as possible with the pandemic. Personal sanitizer bottles to clean off equipment as you go are a great idea!

Great staff experience it seems they do their best to keep everything clean they do try to help if you need it. And cant beat the low cost for black card members.

I like the cleanliness of this gym. All the equipment is in fairly good conditions considering how many people are coming here. But still, there's always something broken every time I go. And sometimes, there would be one piece of equipment staying down for a while. Also, always have to wait in line for barbells, Smith machine, benches, or just to have a spot in front of mirror even 10am on weekdays. I would love to see less cardio machines and more space and equipment for strength training.

I absolutely love this place. I've been a member for almost 3 years now and it's wonderful. The amenities are always spotless and the workout classes are perfect. Zero complaints!

Bit tight and some closed down machines because of Covid but helpful staff and a great choice for a cheaper chain gym.

Horrible cancellation process, truly no sympathy provided by general manager, Eric Buskus. Had to cancel membership in-person but I was still charged the annual fee even though I could not cancel earlier because I was out of town. Tried explaining this to the general manager who truly could not have cared less, continued to cite the contract with the most un-sympathetic tone. Definitely will not be recommending this establishment to anyone, you're better off elsewhere.

I never was a huge fan of Planet Fitness but have been coming here since I moved to the area and the friendly staff and adherence to covid precautions has made me a loyal customer. They have been strict on capacity, make sure everyone has their own spray bottle, closed off equipment and the employees are regularly cleaning as well. Most people are good about wearing a mask, but I have seen staff regularly walking around checking to make sure they are kept on. It really makes going to the gym seem as safe as it possibly can be right now and I appreciate that. And like I said the employees here are so friendly and should be commended!

No space to workout. Wanted to cancel my membership at the Avondale location but they told me to go to the Logan Square location. Because of my home gym. BUT THEN WHATS THE PURPOSE OF THE BLACKCARD. if you can cancel anywhere or anytime. Then when I arrived at the logan Square location. I was told I couldn't cancel my membership at the time due to a crash in the system & would be up and running in a couple if hours. Now I have to come back at this location again to cancel this ridiculous membership

Planet Fitness is great! They have everything you need to complete a full workout, the staff is friendly, the people respect that they are there to work out and not take selfies or film themselves. I really appreciate the crowd meter too because every time I've gone, it's not been too crowded to where I can't get a machine or weights. The hydromassage chair is amazing too!

Israel was phenomenal. Went in to rejoin as PF had special to renew. This was last day. Although not familiar with deal or process, Israel took appropriate steps to get it done. Also they just reopened locker rooms. THANK YOU ISRAEL!! Massage chairs help me back after standing 8 hour shifts on concrete floors for trade shows

There has been no drinking water available to patrons from the fountains going on 3-weeks. Equipment is not maintained at a diligent pace. When equipment is broken or falls out of commission it takes weeks to have it repaired. Men’s bathroom is unclean and smelly.

Wow! For a planet fitness I have never exasperated such terrible customer service. I’ve been a customer with planet fitness and think this has got to be the worst location I have ever been to for customer service.

I started coming everyday in between 5-10pm. Great, never too crowded. Check in on app. People are starting to hoard the spray bottles for themselves and work out with them next to them, vs leaving it to be shared, so I’d say more could be used or tell them to put back and not keep for their personal use. Employees are great, aside from the heavy set woman with glasses who never acknowledges people coming in or out, and is never friendly or welcoming, but definitely appears very friendly when talking to her male coworkers, and doesn’t even lift her eyes to say “have a good night.” I probably said “have a good night “ to her at least three times without her saying anything back. At first I assumed she didn’t hear me, but now I see she just doesn’t care. So rude, especially being “the face of the gym”. Aside from her, everyone else has good costumer service.

It’s basic, but clean and has what I need. I go early in the morning, so it’s usually pretty empty. Staff are nice as well.

There are 5,000 elliptical machines that are always empty. Only two stair masters which are ALWAYS taken and only like 4 benches by the free weights which are ALWAYS full. Waste of space and time.

This is the cleanest facility in gym I’ve ever belonged to even before the pandemic. They have followed all the guidelines for COVID safety. The staff has always been friendly and professional.

I absolutely LOVE this club! Everyone that I’ve interacted with has been very pleasant and accommodating. You can tell that the owners/managers care about the members; they installed top of the line massage chairs that I haven’t seen at any other club. 💜 The club is always clean and well maintained and the natural light from the wall of windows is an added bonus.

Got a little crowded but overall good workout great employees on Diversey and California Chicago Illinois

I am not sure what happened to the TV package but it is abysmal now. While doing cardio I like to watch the TV to pass the time but the offerings now are worthless. There used to be more channels and have a variety (ESPN, ESPN2, HGTV, and a few network channels). Now, there are 4...NBS Sports showing Euro sports, the PF channel, Telemundo and FOX. I now just watch cars drive down California Ave.

Friendly staff, good amount of equipment choices. What could be better is having more equipment/machines that always seem to be in use and have to wait for them like incline benches and weight rail rack. Having a scale somewhere would also be great
