Love this place! Absolutely love the idea of getting to choose smaller amounts of multiple flavors of pizza or any other food for that matter. And the price is pretty in line with what I expected. I’ll definitely be back.

“ONE BITE EVERYBODY KNOWS THE RULE!” - 8.1/10 After watching Barstool review video of Bonci, we really wanted to try different variety of pizzas in one go. So we tried 5 different pizzas cherry tomato, margarita, spicy eggplant, mushrooms/sausage, and pepperoni (27$)…me and BF both agreed that spicy eggplant and the margarita pizzas were absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is small so during rush hour its kind of hard to dine in…overall it was a great experience!

This pizza is absolutely amazing, the crust is crunchy and the toppings are delicious!! So for 33$ we tried 6 types of pizza (spicy eggplant, mozzarella, potato, meatball, anchovies and turkey). We were able to choose how much we wanted exactly of each type and we paid by weight for each. As a pizza lover, this place is now one of my favourites and I would definitely come back to try out more!

Excellent pizza. Crisp thin crust with a nice crunch that’s not oily. Freshest ingredients and super-unique toppings. I love that you can get as big or as little of a slice as you want. This serving here was $13 with tax.

YUM YUM YUM!!! 👍What a fantastic pizza option! This is not your typical deep dish Chicago pizza,or Detroit pizza or super thing crust pizza. These pizzas are medium thickness with a tasty and chewy crust. The toppings are creative and blend together nicely. I especially liked the ricotta, cucumber, lime zest pizza. You buy the pizza by the 1/4 lb - it’s a generous slice - I recommend 2 slices for most appetites. It goes on the repeat list! Don’t miss this yummy slice of the Chicago pizza scene!

Bonci pizza arrives in Chicago from Rome with high quality ingredients and awesome toppings. The crust is excellent, finally a perfect crispy crust that's not soggy. They have a nice variety of toppings, traditional like pepperoni and sausage or unique like the fried onion. You pick the size of the slice and they cut each one to your preference. Well priced for the quality, highly recommend the pizza here! Credit cards only, I recommend taking the pizza to go. Fulton Square market area is a great place for eating and drinking.

Stopped in to Bonci to finally try out their Roman-style pizza. The restaurant is very small and is located on Sangamon, north of busier Randolph St. The restaurant doesn't have a single table in it. Just stools for counter space along the walls. Not the best setup for patrons who'd like to sit and enjoy their food. I arrived shortly after Bonci opened and several different pizzas were already out and ready. I ordered a slice of their Prosciutto Cotto pizza and a slice of their Spicy Eggplant (pictured). Pizza is sold by weight here, so when you order, they just lift the pizza up and slide a scissor down the side of it, cutting off a slice whenever you tell them to. After heating the slices up, they sliced them both up into bite-size bites (pictured.). Definitely different! The pizza, though, was delicious. Both slices, delicious. Would very highly recommend and can't wait to go back and try some other pizzas!

Roman pizzeria that was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. I loved that they price by weight vs slice and they will cut the pizza to your preferred size, so you can try different kinds of pizza toppings. There is a small bar for eating in the front.

Everything it lived up to!!! The freshest ingredients, excellent flavor combinations, fantastic crispy “crust” or dough. The place is small, think three counters and like ten stools, but fast service. They heat up your slices after cutting, yes with scissors, your pieces! Create your own portion sizes. I recommend small cuts and ordering more flavors so you get to try the most options. Slightly pricy but you’re paying directly for quality. Will be a repeat customer!

This is my favorite pizza place. It has amazing variety with ever changing combos. You get to look at all their options and select how much (or little) you want them to cut out for you, then you pay by weight. This gives great opportunity for trying unusual flavors, and for trying lots of toppings with a group. My favorite was the smoked salmon! Next favorite is Meatball Ragu. Potato was underwhelming but unique. The actual crust is delicious with a great bite to it. We ended up getting 2 rounds of 1 full box of pizza. It came out to about $10-12 per person, and the 2 boxes fed 4 adults and 1 kid very comfortably with leftovers!

Vegetable toppings 🍅🫑🍆🧄were fresh, mozzarella stretchy, and seasoning balanced. The crust was a touch too rustic than what I prefer, but pizzas 🍕 were good overall due to delicious toppings. Fan of their price by weight concept, making it easy to sample a greater variety of pizzas especially during your first visit.

Great place for dates or any occasion really. They make all kinds of pizza, even throughout the day so what you get might not be available in a few hours. The pizza dough is crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. The toppings all mix pretty well. You ask for which pizza you want and how much, you can mix and match as much as you want. They all cost around $15 per pound. They then weigh your slices and charge you. The pizza slices get baked and cut into bite size pieces. Seating is limited indoors but there is outdoor seating

This place is very small and quaint inside. More of a takeout place. I liked the pizza but it was not the best pizza I’ve ever had. I think having to reheat up the pizza makes it not as good to be honest. I wish they made the pizza fresh and hot as you order it not having to reheat it. The staff was very nice.

Follow me on social @Inspiring kitchen! 🎉Welcome to Lincoln Park, @bonciusa! ⁣ Bonci’s Roman style pizza is now available in their new location on the north side of Chicago. ⁣ ⁣ There are so many unique qualities about this pizza from the focaccia style crust to the wide variety of toppings to how you order your pizza. ⁣ ⁣ If you’re like me, and have trouble choosing just one topping for your pizza, Bonci gives you the opportunity to choose from 12 to 15 different styles which are then cut with a scissors to your specifications. So if you want to try five different types, you just tell them how much of each you want and they weigh it to give you your receipt. ⁣This is the most fun way to sample all different flavors of pizza! ⁣

Amazing pizza. So many options that all sound so delicious. Got the potato & mozzarella, Arrabiata, prosciutto & rosemary, caramelized onion, and sopresata. All were ones I’d ordered again any time. Reasonable prices. Everything is so flavorful. Small ish place with only a few places to sit. Will be going back

This place is great! You let them know how big of a piece to cut with their scissors and then you pay by the weight. They will let you get a very small since just to try a flavor. The ricotta and zucchini is amazing. The pepperoni is fantastic. Everything I have tried has been awesome. They also have some bottled and canned drinks that are great like the Harney and Sons tea options. I would highly recommend this place!

Can't believe Dave Portnoy gave this place a 7.4. Trying too many deep dish pizzas must have burned his taste buds! This pizza is the real deal! Okay, it might not be a "Chicago" signature spot, but given the fact that this location is the only one outside of Rome (Italy) speaks volume about the opportunity to try an acclaimed roman style pizza in North America.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place while walking around West Loop. Pizza is priced per POUND and not by the slice, so if you want to try multiple flavors have them slice it a bit smaller. A better deal to pay for 2-3 “slices” that are smaller so you can try more varieties. We tried three kinds and recommend them all: pepperoni (classic), chicken parm (a little more Hearty) and sausage and blueberry (sweet + savory).

This is the 4th time I have been here in 4 years and the quality and service has been excellent! Always greeted with a smile and they are always patient while waiting for you to decide. All of the pizzas are excellent even if the flavor looks weird at first. Highly recommend!

Food was so fire. It’s not pizza by the slice it’s pizza by the pound. They let you select how much you want for each variety. There’s a ton of options as well. Good vibes and friendly staff inside. Great for a snack or a meal.

No, we are not in Rome, and this isn't Rome style "pizza al taglio". I mean, you can have this feeling entering the place, but as soon as you give a closer look to the pizza, the difference is immediately under your eyes and nose. The smell doesn't remind me of pizza, but more fry shop, and it will badly stick on your clothes. I took 4 different types (anchovies and burrata, fried onion parmigiana, zucchini ricotta and lemon, and crostino). Honestly, the taste at a first bite is not bad, especially the zucchini-ricotta and the anchovies, but the aftertaste is terrible and leaves in the mouth a feeling of low quality poorly cooked food. Also, the base of the pizza is too "biscuity" and, in some of the slice, it was overcooked. Despite the four people working there, the service is slow, and once you ordered the pizza, you also have to wait 5-10 minutes before you actually get it. Wrapping up, it was a disappointing experience, and it bothers me that they claim this as Rome style pizza! There is no respect for the pizza here. I mean, I have seen them warming up a pizza with a fresh Buffalo mozzarella! In Rome, they would last one day before going bankrupt.

Tens of pizza options with various ingredients(arugula, aubergine, ricotta etc). You decide the portion of your slice. Some pizza slices left a bit extra olive oil feeling in the mouth though. They have only high top table setup for inside seating. It takes 5-10 minutes to get your slice after your order is taken due to reheat process.

Pizza served by the weight in west loop. Small pizzeria serving a wide variety of pizza options. You go in and see the pizza behind the counter where you select from a multitude of options from vegetarian pizza to interesting flavors such as blueberry sage pizza! Ordered the blueberry pizza and our slice was heated up, and sliced into bite sized pieces. Interesting way so serve pizza but didn’t make you feel as bad for eating pizza! Great quality pizza and I will definitely be back when I’m in the area. I enjoyed it and they have a great outdoor space as well to eat.

I had very high expectations from this place since it’s an authentic Roman style pizza. But it was the worst pizza of my life, so hard to chew. We ordered among the different varieties of vegetarian pizza. The toppings were good, but the bread was so hard to chew which made it an unpleasant experience. Also the spicy eggplant was really oily. The staff was kind enough to explain how it works since it was our first time. But totally disappointed with the pizzas, for such higher price I would expect decent taste but it wasn’t. I wouldn’t recommend.

I was very excited to try this after the Netflix show. It did not disappoint! The space is really cool - very simple and understated and set up for one thing - PIZZA. The staff were friendly and helped us with the ordering process. There were so many types of pizza so the idea of ordering by weight and getting to try a bunch of flavors was great. We ordered 10 different pieces of different sizes and the bill was about $45. My favorite was the lemon, ricotta, zucchini. I would highly recommend stoping in for a slice!

Amazing dough and DELICIOUS pizza sauce and seasonings in ALL flavors we have tried. Hands down the best pizza I have had in a long time!

Unique pizza and crunchy crust! The salmon & burrata and mozzarella & potato pizzas were delicious.

The pizza was very authentic Italian style, but it wasn’t really the flavor I usually prefer! Still had good quality food and service though.

I heard about this place watching The Pizza Show on Vice TV. The host was at the original Rome location where they serve Roman style “al taglio” pizza: thin, rectangular, cut by scissors, and sold by the kilogram. So when I heard there is a location here in Chicago, I just had to try them out. I couldn’t believe it’s been around for about 4 years now. The pizza is EVERYTHING you’d imagine pizza to be. And their toppings range from traditional cheese, pepperoni, and sausage to veggie options like eggplant and zucchini, and even anchovies if you’re in to that. Quite easily one of the BEST to get thin crust pizza in Chicago. I’ll definitely be coming back for more 😋🍕

Awesome concept that allows you to try many of their delicious pizzas in one sitting. Favorites: zucchini and ricotta, sausage and pepper, arugula and tomato

We went here after eating and drinking lightly at Timeout Chicago. The pizza here was thin and tasty like in Italian pizza. I was very happy because there were many variations of pizza. Every pizza was ingenious and delicious.

A cute pizza shop that's perfect for people who want a little bit of everything! Pros: Lots of options Good location Friendly employees Cons: Overpriced Nothing spectacular

Amazing pizza!! The quality at the Chicago location matches that of the location in Italy. There are quite a few vegetarian options as well. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend Bonci to everyone who asks for pizza recommendations
