You get what you pay for. There’s no AC, pretty dirty everywhere, machines are constantly broken, treadmills are from 1992. They took away all dumbbells. It’s bizarre that a gym doesn’t have dumbbells available. No hair dryer in the locker room. Most of the members are ignorant, they don’t wipe machine after using it or return equipment back at its place. Also, so unsafe and uncomfortable for the women. If you’re a girl, avoid eye contact! Overall, sorry to say but pretty trashy gym. Will cancel my membership next month. On a positive note, there's free parking.

Word of advice , invest in bullet proof locks. This XSport does not care. Incident occurred 3:30pm ish on a Sunday 07/10/2022. Dry corporate out. Do you part. All you’re going to get is some delegation and sorry from the desk. Local police department will also help if you’ve gotten something stolen. Apparently protocol is to run it through them and hope they run it to corporate (XSport). They need higher security standards. Ridiculous experience!

I go here often because of the reasonable prices, and lack of other options in the neighborhood. However, it is not a female friendly gym whatsoever. I frequently see women being bothered by men, hit on or aggressively stared at and have experienced it myself. Frankly management should step up and do something about this to make it a safer environment for women, e.g. putting up signs of how women can let employees know about men who are being bothersome, signs on basic etiquette in the gym, removing memberships for individuals who act inappropriately, etc. The equipment is also often broken for weeks without it getting fixed. If you can find another option, do it. If you want a gym that just ticks the box for a reasonable price and are fine with subpar facilities, this will fit your bill. If you’re a woman watch your back at this facility and avoid eye contact at all costs. Update: the facility gave me an auto-generated response and did not implement any of the above or reach out about these comments, so do with that information what you will. I’d take your money elsewhere, they do not care about their customers.

Seems like a lot of the equipment is in poor working condition. The gym seems run down and tired. The other locations are better to be honest.

When I think of xsport fitness I think about a company who is supposed to have certain standards of how a gym operates and cleanliness, this is not what I experienced. Total honesty here we go. The walls are crumbling on the second floor literal broken tial on the floor next to the machines. The machines itselfs are old and outdated and I mean just about everyone of them are old and dirty. These do not get wiped down. The hot tub had dirty foam water floating atop and smelled of dirty bleach water. The pool itself was ok. My only complaint was that the floaters in there to separate when people swim are so dirty there's actually mold and dirt in-between them. These have not been cleaned for months for the dirt to build up. The steam room radiator is falling apart and has a sign that reads "do not put water on this or it will mess up the radiator". It also smelled very bad. But it's probably due to people not showering before entering the steam room right after working out. Unfortunately I cancelled my old gyms membership to come workout here. Big mistake. For the amount they charge for membership they should have the money to be able to keep this gym clean.

this gym is one of my favorite fitness centers in the area - the equipment is functional, the facility is clean, and there's plenty of parking; they also have a lot of amenities 🏋🏼

It’s a very poorly maintained gym. Water fountains are gross, uneven floor mats in the weightlifting area, sauna is out of service 50% of the time, and a third of the treadmills are not working at any given time. I’ve brought up these issues with their management multiple times but there’s no real sense of urgency to get anything fixed. Only pro is the affordable price.

Very poorly managed gym. Definitely the worst XSport in the area. It's actually impressive how nearly 75% of the cardio machines do not work properly. There's about 5 people behind the counter to make sure people sign in but there is no one helping clean up weights or anything to help improve the current status of the gym. Cleaning the gym even once I week would be aassive improvement to how often they clean it now. Weeks will go by with the same trash littered across the gym. Very mid. Do better.

I've signed up and came here for a couple of years and it was nice but this time that I went to sign up the place didn't look the same. It seemed a bit not well taken care of. Maybe because it was a Sunday afternoon. They do offer different memberships and I'll consider my options, unfortunately I read the reviews and not sure to sign up or not. Undecided to come back. I didn't have a bad experience last time.

I went here on a Sunday to tour the facility as I was in the market for a new gym after outgrowing my home gym. I called to see if I needed an appointment for a tour but I was told I could just come in. When I arrived to the parking garage, I loved how there was. I fee or time limit but I became concerned after noticing the decaying conditions. The garage could certainly use more lighting and signage for safety. I felt like the stairwell and elevator could especially be dangerous after dark since there were no cameras, call for help, or windows present. After finding my way to the front desk, I stood there while two associates were present for 2 minutes before anyone noticed me because they were on their phones. Once I told them I called about a tour I was directed towards who I assumed was a manger but he never introduced himself, seemed distracted, and overall had an unprofessional demeanor. I ended up being passed along to another member of the team who was much more attentive and professional. He asked what my goals were, explained the different promotions, and gave me a tour. While touring, I noticed trash throughout and dust on the equipment. I knew immediately they skipped out on regular cleanings. The lighting in the locker room was dim but the steam rooms appeared to be functional although I didn’t get a chance to see if it was infused with aromatherapy or clean since it was in use. There was also a self care area that had different rooms for different purposes. There were about 2-3 different rooms that were out of order but they had plenty of self tanning options, hydromassage, and other machines available. The gym seemed well equipped for my use but I couldn’t get over the lack of cleanliness and professional staff.

Cleanliness of the bathrooms, restocking of sanitizer, and paper towels the last 2 weeks has been a real miss. I don't know if it's new staff, people in training or whatever. Just get it together, I actually like coming here.

This gym was very dirty. The jacuzzi and sauna haven't worked for the past 6 months. Locker rooms always getting robbed. Machines are mostly broken. Massive lack of equipment and overcrowded. Just go to Planet fitness it is better, cheaper, and cleaner.

Please read this review before you give them your hard earned money. Pool, no heat (so cold you can’t swim) and dirty. Hot tub, always broken and can’t use it. Lockers, always dirty with floating dirty water and awful musty smell. Customer service, don’t reply to me, just do something!! Because this has been going on for months!! This should be a stand out location, but to be honest, it’s miles from it. Also, I will be canceling my membership.

To be honest I dont know where to start. Dont know which Xsport is worst Logan or Brickyard but I tried to work things out since I been a customer for years. Now is not worth it besides 90% of machines dont work there's theft. On 6/23/23 I came in with my gym bag I worked out for an hour went back to the lockers. My locker was located by the showers come to find out my lock was broken. Yes, they broke my lock and took everything. I then went to the front desk just to let them know they broke my lock and took all of my belongings. Guy named Najib Jay made the report I then asked to get a copy of the report said he couldn't provide or print copy. After telling him they took everything he specifically kept asking for one thing -my wallet. He asked about 4 times if my wallet was also stolen. Wouldn't be surprised if this was planed by their own staff. Why would you keep asking about my wallet and last I had to tell him to create the report he refused. Im done with this gym they're all the same. Sucks bringing a lock doesn't make a difference they will still break into your things and I'm sure the staff has something to with it.

Pros - It’s a solid gym with the standard gym equipment and then some. The basketball court is pretty big and they provide a lot of baskets. Also the membership price is very affordable Cons - The floor on the basketball court has a lot of dead spots. Most of the showers only have hot to scolding hot water. The spa or pool may be closed for long maintenance from time to time.

You get what you pay for. It has the weights they just aren't where they're supposed to be. It has the staff, they just don't care about you or their jobs. No ones wiping down equipment. No ones putting away the weights. People steal barbells and leave them all over the place. Planet fitness is 10 times better. If it weren't for the squat rack, they'd have half the clients. Can we do better?

XSport in general isn't bad, it's just this location that's probably the worst of all their Chicago ones. All the reviews about broken equipment are definitely true, there is always multiple treadmills and strength machines that are broken/not functioning properly. The ceiling leaks whenever it rains a lot. Definitely is not very well cleaned (except the women's locker room, that's pretty good). Recently they locked up all of the free weights in one of their workout studios because people keep using them due to their shortage of regular weights in the lifting area. That's probably my last straw, because why would you lock up the resources that we pay for? Anyways, wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't $30/month. Oh and my boyfriend had his locker broken into twice here. Will probably switch to PF soon. Positives - The staff seems really nice and they do have a lot of stuff you can buy if you're in a pinch like drinks and workout clothes. There is a lot of cardio machines, minus the fact that 1/3 of them don't work. Good parking too.

6 treadmills currently have out of order signs and more need a sign…almost every other treadmill I try stops working properly mid workout. Nearly impossible to find two functional treadmills next to each other for people working out in a pair.

I signed up yesterday, I did the deal where you pay in full one year you get a year free. I use to do crossfit and I was told X-it classes were similar to it. I was very excited for my first class today I created an account on-line, registered for the class showed up and there was no coach. Me and another young lady waited about 15 minutes, things happen, we thought they are just running a little late. No one came we called the front desk they said they did not know where the coach was. A little while later two trainers come in to tell us that the trainer called off, that the trainer has been calling off every Monday. The trainer that came up only spoke to the other person in the training room, she did not even acknowledge I was In the room. I asked her if this was a recurring issue why was nothing told to us? She asked us to call 30 minutes prior to any other classes we wanted to come to, to see of there was a trainer coming. She was very rude they could have offered to teach the class to accommodate for the inconvenience. Very disappointed in the way this went I am happy they have a 30 day money back guarantee because I do not think I want to keep my membership when they don't have reliable coaches. This is according to the female trainer that came to notify us no one was coming.

This place is great! It has tons of machines, a good variety of classes and a lot of different amenities. I enjoy using the hydro massage or hydration pod after a good workout. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. I take personal training sessions with Jose, he's very encouraging and you can tell he cares. I had an issue with billing at one point and brought me over to Kimberly who was extremely helpful and resolved all my issues. They both have great energy.

This is a great affordable option if you want weights or cardio machines. The pool on the other hand is very cloudy. Locker room is fine. There are showers, lockers, and hair dryers. No locks or towels provided.

Staff was off putting. They measured my bf’s fat % (we didn’t even ask him to do it) and when the results came in, the worker asked if he was lying about his weight. I guess he was surprised that a D1 runner had a low body %. It was comical lol. If you’re trying to get people to get a membership at your gym, that’s definitely not the way to go. Regardless, the facility was dirty and run down. Definitely didn’t return and I don’t recommend!

dirty and always a mess. the equipment is never re-racked (staff used to at least circulate often). the machines are always broken for and endless amount of time. staff is mostly unprofessional (on their phones constantly, rude). tanning beds are NEVER clean (i’ve had to clean them every single time i use them- caked-on film of sweat and lotions…). truly disappointing and could be so much better with proper leadership. i really wish i could rate higher, but i’ve been a member of the xsport family on/off since 2000- i’ve experienced better.

honestly I love this place, recently they have been keeping the place much more clean. i usually come and workout in the morning and i usually see people wiping/dusting off the machines. but people do steal from here. both of my friends shakers have been stolen before. but other than that it's a great gym.

I called to cancel my membership and was told I can only cancel said membership in person or by mail. I am out of the country due to emergency circumstances for the foreseeable future and neither of these are actual options for me. I kindly and patiently asked to speak to a supervisor and the person I spoke to told me they were the operations manager. They were flippant and short with me. I never write reviews about anything, infact I don't think I ever have but in this case I must highly suggest anyone steer clear of this business. They apparently are literally incapable of canceling my subscription over the phone and are quite rude about it. The only solution I've been left with as to not pay for a service I literally can not use is to cancel my debit card. I will be leaving a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Machines on the first floor are ALWAYS broken or on the verge of malfunction. On the weekends the gym is disgusting; over flowing trash, unkempt locker rooms, and never paper towels in the dispensers. During the evening hours, forget it if you're trying to find dumbbells and are an organized individual because the children treat the gym like their mothers are going to pick up after them and re-rack their weights. Go to a better gym, trust me.

This morning, the brain-piercing fire alarm was blaring when I walked in. I asked at the front desk “Is this going to stop soon?” “Probably not,” he replied, nonchalantly. This is pretty indicative of the vibe here, which is a dumpster fire that none of the staff seem too concerned about.

If you go, the second level is EVERYTHING!!! Sunshine (we were there at 7am) and great view of skyline deserve a 5….., But I gave a 3 because the women’s restroom smelled so badly that it made me gag!! I understand plumbing issues were part of the problem but PROPER VENTILATION would go a loooooong way!!

Great gym with the deals if u can get an xsport promo...pay for what u get, gets extremely crowded at times when it may be hard to get a workout it. Definitely the most diverse crowd. Pool and hot tub wasn't my priority so pool can be open for swimming, but never used jacuzzi, so not sure as if it's working a lot

I love this place. Not to far from home. There is a pool and sauna and steem. The only thing that makes me nervous is when I go to the sauna after swimming in a bathing suit to poop, there are girls sitting dressed and wearing sneakers, where there are shelves to lay their dirty sneakers on. If they don't know how to steam in a sauna, there is YouTube and Google for that. And there is an inscription on the door that only in beach shoes. Otherwise, the hall is great. The water in the pool would be 2 degrees warmer.

I gave this place another opportunity after having a horrible experience last year due to them not having coaches for the classes I signed up for. If it's not one thing it's another. I wanted to use the hydro pod and the machine was not working. It started then stopped I'm naked in the machine so I get dressed go ask for help and there is no one to help me. The girl up front says everyone is busy and she can't help me at the moment. I wait for a bit and I ask do you think it will be long? She continues to say idk... I understand they get busy i was patient but decided to leave I drove to the gym just for the Pod, today is my recovery day and I heard the pod helps with circulation, honestly that is the biggest reason I signed up to this gym. But this us twice that the machine is not working. They should really do a better job with keeping up with their machines. The girl at the front desk mentioned I'm not the first person to tell her the machine is noworking. Yet it's not fixed? I tried to cancel my membership and I'm told their is a $10 dollar cancelation.... why keep a membership that is useless to me?

Is it this place is a dump it was like working out inside of a sauna. Why can't XSport fitness have adequate working air conditioning inside their gyms. Some of XSport fitness equipment has been in their gyms for over 20 years, and their bathrooms are always dirty.

  • 4/5 G. E. 1 year ago on Google
This is the best of the locations when it comes to management and staff. Plus they keep the machines well maintained. Karen helped me out with some issues I had with the other locations on s loop and portage park. I will definitely only go to the locations on logan square from now on.

  • 5/5 Greg R. 1 year ago on Google
A great XSport. The staff are all really cool and none of them are pushy about sales. The equipment is well maintained and clean by most gym standards. The treadmills and machines are almost always all in working order and I haven't seen any that skip or give an incorrect speed. Also, the community there is friendly.

X Sport Fitness has been a phenomenal experience. I’ve been looking for a gym that has a friendly atmosphere and with their staff it’s absolute top notch. Every time I go in I’m greeted with a smile and I can’t imagine going to another gym after the experience I’ve had here! Highly recommend!

  • 3/5 Nicholas L. 2 years ago on Google
People here are generally rude, inconsiderate. They don't put away equipment and have made comments about the length of my workouts or the amount of weight I use. Some of the staff seem incompetent too, younger front desk staff. Like all the equipment here though, good selection and a sauna is always nice.

  • 2/5 scott f. 2 years ago on Google
No shirts, no masks (including blonde trainers), play you own music loudly without earphones, no problem! The only reason they get two stars is the price and amount of equipment.

  • 4/5 Caitlin B. 2 years ago on Google
I normally go swimming. Depending on the time it takes a while for a lane to open up or I get lucky and find a lane fast. I like the locker rooms and steam room. They also have a fast-drying swimsuit contraption that comes in handy. It is nice to see people wiping equipment down now that we are in the COVID-19 era.

  • 4/5 Nick G. 2 years ago on Google
Awesome gym and really affordable, the fact it has a pool makes it perfect for me. The only downside, but this goes for all gyms, it was wildly busy after 5pm.

  • 5/5 Erin N. 3 months ago on Google • 2 reviews New
After seeing some of the reviews of this gym and its location, I felt I had to share my experience because the comments seems way more negative than my experience. (5/5) 1. Amazing price for ALL the amenities you are getting. This gym offers anything you could want from an upscale gym for a low price. (Sauna, steam, pool, courts, rock climbing, tanning, etc) 2. Specifically the Logan square location, I was greeted instantly and welcomed with a friendly smile. (I notice the staff at Logan square is way friendlier than other locations!) 3. 7 day free trial is a bonus. Really get to decide if it’s the right fit. Personally, after signing onto a very expensive gym I actually find myself wishing I had the offerings at this gym.
