Very unprofessional and NO communication. My lock was opened by some thief’s and all my Money was stolen from my wallet. I report to staff at front desk and was told they couldn’t do anything about it and was on contract that they aren’t responsible for lost items, BUT it is THEIR responsibility to spread awareness of this. They told me they had heard of this already and that’s why this keeps happening because they don’t spread the news to clients.

If I could give this location no stars I would I went to this location because it was close by a friend worst decision of my life the staff is very prejudice I got my workout in 15 min left of my workout I’m in the personal trainers section because it just had cleared out from 4 other people who was not being trained soon as I get in set up a staff member comes up to me and said hey my manager told me to come kick you out…I’m like who is your manager?he said him over there mind you it’s 3 other guys over in that direction than he goes the guy with the drink so I go up to the manager ask him why I have to leave if no one is being trained he tells me because we have to keep it clean and I’m the manager,so I ask for the store manager which was no help at all they are so unprofessional, rude and prejudice i will never come back to this location again and if you are African-American I do not recommend you working out at this location.they will not respect you

They are a joke. On hold on the phone for more than 30 minutes. Watch your bank statements closely. When you freeze your account they will still charge you the full amount. Take your business elsewhere.

Only esporta I know that doesn't let you use training area but will tell you when you sign up that you can use it, also staff will walk up to you with no mask on and tell you to wear your mask, this place has gone down hill since covid, only matter of time before they are closed 👎🏼

Today is October 24,2023 8:29 pm. Whoever is the manager on the shift rn SUCKS! And whoever who is at the front desk has horrible customer service. Next time you need to address a customer SPEAK FIRST like you spoke to everyone your race that walked in which is Hispanic. Sitting at the front desk with an attitude as if you own the place! I’m one BLACK WOMAN that you will not disrespect. So take note.

Went in for a free week pass expecting to change gyms, but I was very disappointed. It's dirty and unorganized. Weights are scattered all over the gym floor, which is a HUGE safety hazard. Also, most weights are out of place and not racked properly (very annoying). In addition, there are only 3-4 bottles of disinfectant spray and only one rack of paper towels 👎🏽. Will not be going back 🚩⚠️

It's not bad. I like the equipment quite well. Not so much the front desk, she wasn't as helpful, or else it would be 5. My bf sent me a 7 day pass, and when I tried to use it, I was told I couldn't use it unless I had an appt.... Nowhere in the sign up process for the pass does it say appt needed, just to print it and present it, not even on the paper does it say appt needed. When bf tried to change his membership to add another guest, he was told he couldn't do that at all. I started to feel embarrassed for showing up, so I decided to just leave, walk around, and play MH Now and get some cardio in for the night.

One of the worst gyms in the area. Members are just as much to blame for this as is the staff. I’ve noticed that no one really wipes down equipment after use or reracks equipment either. Hand grips are stolen and unavailable as are some of the clips for the cable machines. Such a shame cause they do have a better selection of equipment.

It gets crowded here and there, I think is time to raplace the ropes. They are as disgusting as they can be. I dont think its rigth to have working out material in this conditions. Especially because we all pay for this services.

Machines have been scheduled for maintenance for weeks. There’s no more sanitizing sprays or rags to clean equipment which regardless of covid, this place is a gym and should be kept clean at all times. Since new ownership took over I have seen a huge decline in the quality of this gym. I will be cancelling my membership.

This gym desperately needs new management/owners. No one has gym etiquette as people leave the treadmills, ellipticals, and other assorted gym equipment covered in sweat and sometimes spit...No one can be bothered to wipe anything down and believe me the wipes are available. It's worse upstairs where people drop weights and don't even bother putting them back in place and don't get me started to the indifference to people who want to train a little differently with perhaps a little more patience. To add to the misery the parking lot has homeless encampments and a overwhelming smell of urine I'll have you guess as to why. This place desperately needs new owners/management who'll enforce the rules and fix all these problems. I won't go back.

This Gym Is Just A Hot Mess. On The Phone They Give You Certain Information In Person They Provide You With Different Ones. The Staff Knowledge And Help Is Useless. To Get A Pass Or Membership Is So Time Consuming. The Activation Process Is Just Unnecessary And Appointments Are Not Till The Week After.

The owner is really letting this place go. The locker rooms are often dirty, lack paper towels and hand dryers to compensate for this. Next, the weight lifting equipment gets worse by the day. For example, three days ago the glute kickback machine was unusable because a essential screw needed to be tightened, today one of the benches was missing the plastic handling, thus exposing the metal lever. Also, the ropes for the tricep pull down are in bad condition. In fact, I am confident I could find more signs of wear and tear in the equipment if I took the time to conduct a thorough look. Normally, under these unacceptable conditions I would give a place like this a one star review. However, this gym is the only sizeable gym in my area.

If this gym wasn’t in the neighborhood and conveniently accessible after work, not that it’s any convenience to actually train in, I’d never come. Limited equipment, that of which most is either broken or in repair. Terrible gym culture/atmosphere. If it’s not your last choice, I wouldn’t go. I’ve traveled to the LA Fitness on N Clark before coming here on many of occasions, just because it’s an awful experience in every imaginable way.

I like this gym. I mostly go there just to swim. It does get packed , there are people that hog the weights, They lift Just one time and take 20 minutes on their phone. Would like to see if it's possible to add a notification on the app to let us know if the pool is closed. Sucks going to the gym to find out that it's closed. Other than that it's good.

They close too early even though I signed my contract for a different closing hour. They changed it for covid restrictions but those restrictions are over and they still want to close an hour early just to save money not paying their workers that extra hour. The machines are all broken and it seems no one cares. The ladies take the small weights far away from the racks and you never see those weights again when you need to use them.

Most of the machines are broken the water filters are never changed on the drinking fountains. Staff is friendly but poor management. A lot of gym members you would figure they maintain the gym equipment. The basketball court is always locked. Just fix the gym equipment.

What has happened to this gym. Pins for the machines are all missing. Half the machines don’t have pads. DB’s are all over the place. Barbells missing. Not sure what has happened to this gym but it definitely needs an overhaul.

Machines have been broken for quite some time. Not enough spray bottles on the 2nd floor. Staff needs to improve in cleanliness. Clients have a tendency to bring their own speaker which causes disruption to others.

I signed up for Esporta since they have a pool specifically with the intent to help my brother out with his recovery process after being hit by a car last year that almost took his life. We were pretty much forced to switch gyms from the Pershing location because the pool has been closed for 2 weeks. My brother and I both take the Aqua Fit class and have never had any issues with the other instructors at the Pershing location making accommodations due to his disability (motor skills) until today. In the middle of the 9am Aqua Fit Class the instructor Rosario had the audacity to pause the music in the middle of the class and tell me over her mic that my brother was required to do her class, move to the far end side of the pool or get out out. Granted, my brother was participating in her class but couldn’t physically do some of her activities, in which case he would improvise and do easier things such as waking/swimming around the pool. The fact that my brother couldn’t carry out some of the activities in her class was not a reason for her to exclude him from participating in her class. My brothers rights were violated and the general manager Daniel did not once apologize for the way he/we were treated.During the conversation I had with the ‘“so called GM” he pretty much kept interrupting me and referring me to call members services. He was not at all apologetic or expressed any sort of empathy towards the violation of my brothers civil rights. After I left the class quite a few other members also left and told me they supported me for sticking up for my disabled brother. For some reason my review was removed.

Got a guess pass off the website and followed all instructions, only for them to tell me you need to schedule an appointment in advance to come in. Nowhere on their unprofessional website does it mention that. Bad communication from the jump already let's me know what time it is. Immediately left. Much better gyms out there.

what kind of gyms limit the treadmills to 34 minutes?! What stupid number is that! Give me an hour! I paid for my membership. I should be able to run for my hour and that’s it! 34 minutes is such a stupid time! Make limits during peak times of the day!

Two floors of equipment, cardio downstairs, weight training upstairs. Very crowded is the only reason I gave this 4 stars, not an easy gym to get a routine workout in on a time schedule, do not have a choice of equipment, only what is not in use. Friendly atmosphere, lots of machines but not a lot of free weight action.

I DO NOT like to give one star, BUT they did it again! The pool is always closed, and they don't post any notice anywhere. I even called and asked. The front desk said the pool was open. I wasted my time on a trip there.

Honestly I went to this particular gym for a year and a half because of the Zumba fitness instructors.(which most of the Zumba instructors are great Marion is definitelyNOT OF THEM )BUT AS A BLACK Woman IN AN HISPANIC DOMMAINT GYM. They are very prejudice and give off weird vibes. Basically smile in your face and talk about you in your face in Spanish. And very recently I stop going to this particular gym because they refuse to get the stereo equipment fixed. Which is a major issue because that's how Zumba class operates by using the stereo equipment. . To my black brothers and sisters please do not stay in an environment where we are barely tolerate . Fyi the front desk is not knowledgeable about the fitness instructors available before hand there was several of times that I traveled on blank missions. You have to become Facebook friends with the instructors for their schedules.

This place is just horrible compared to the standards of other LA fitness gyms . Staff only care about signing new members up never see them walk around unless they are working out themselves or asking you to pull up your mask . The cleaning crew works around the clock because people do not wipe after using machines . Weights are laying around like litter . I go to use the bench press which they have four of but no matter what time of day there are never any bench bars . No one is polite everyone crowds one machine i see five kids around one squat rack laughing and hardly using it taking it up for hours . I’ve been to so many other LA fitness near this one to the suburbs and they all have standards they upheld but not this place . The men’s restroom reek of urine all the time people don’t use locks on lockers so you go to use what you assume is an empty locker only to find sweaty nasty clothes inside . This gym is walking distance from my mother’s house but honestly after my workout today I might just take the trip to another location or skip my gym day all together.

Some people are so poor that they dive into the swimming pool while swimming, and the water splashes everywhere. Some people dive into the swimming pool after coming out of the hot spring, and they are covered in foam and do not wash themselves off before getting in the water.

3 stars because the staff I talk to are nice. The air inside stinks as if there is poor circulation. It is always crowded in the pm. The pool isn't clean it's super salty and I found a Band-Aid in the pool today leading me to write this review. I did see them clean the hot tub a few times but even that had dirt bubbles floating around. The lap pool is rarely used as a lap pool more like a playing splash pool and it's always crowded too. I wind up swimming into people in the middle of my lap not even knowing they were in my Lane, they just get in and stand about in the pool. There is debris in the pool that I have seen repeatedly and I swim on weekdays. I do see the cleaning team frequently and they do seem to be wiping things down. The sauna is never empty and classes are always packed. I don't hate this gym that's why I have been here for a few weeks but in comparison to what I have seen a good gym be I would rather go somewhere else. I understand that the gym can't really do much about crowding as most people work out after work so it's bound to be crowded it would just be nice if there was good air circulation cuz it's hot and muggy inside and it will be nice if there were some guidelines for using the pool and that they would routinely clean it.

Im a member of this gym and i have been to a few locations but they are all the same in the form of staff. Their staff is unfriendly unkind always seem to be mad stuck up. I've noticed that a lot of the staff also will use the gym after their shift and that's great however they hang out there in the gym like its a chilling spot a meeting spot with other friends and they get in the way they don't use the gym equipment but they wanna be calling dibs on it they record and stream they wild out like ita a dam high school playground and its not only the gym on 55th and kedzie its every gym near my area.

This gym is one of if not the most cleanest LA FITNESS locations I have ever been at. It's a great vibe here. People are here to workout not hook up lol. Free parking across the street in a parking garage.

The gym is nice because it’s close to my house and I can come here to workout. The only problem is I’ve seen two roaches in the last week or so 1 upstairs by the cages near the leg presses and 1 in the locker room. I don’t want to take bugs home with me I was horrified I left everything in the garage. If there’s anything hiding in my bag from the locker

  • 1/5 V B. 1 year ago on Google
In your parking garage across the street in the adjacent building, parking signs need to be repainted on the ground and bigger signs need to posted directly in front of spots you are not supposed to be parking on. A receptionist said this was a common problem. So please do something about it. Otherwise we will be paying City of Chicago fees that could have been avoided. Thank you.

I’d give it less stars but this is the closest gym I have. After switching to Esporta, most of the time the machines are broken and janky looking. Unfortunately after 8 years with them, I think I’m better off going elsewhere.

I have been a member a long time member of L A and I had to post my experience. On December 20, 2023, I took my grandson with me to workout. I checked myself in and then checked my grandson into daycare . When I returned to pick up my grandson, I could tell something was wrong with him. When I asked him what happen. He told me a kid spit in my face. I went over to the attendant and asked her what happened and she confirmed that another kid did spit on my grandson. I asked the attendant why wasn’t I called and why she didn’t inform me there was an incident. The attendant stated that she added a note to the account. I told her that wasn’t good enough and I needed to speak to a manager. I went to the front desk and ask to speak to a manager. I was told the manger wasn't here. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was once again told a supervisor wasn’t present. I have been at this gym for years and the lady that presented herself as a manager in previous communications was sitting at her desk. She refused to talk to me. I explained everything that happened and I requested to talk to someone in charge. I was told once again no one was present. I asked for the corporates number and I now I am writing this letter to ask for your help. There is a serious discrimination problem at this gym and it needs to be fixed. The first day that my grandson attended daycare, he was told he was a racist because he was black. He told me this after I picked him up but I addressed it with the attendant the next time I was at the gym. I explained to her my grandson was the only African American kid in the daycare and I didn’t want him picked on by the other kids. I asked her to please pay attention to what the kids were saying and doing and she told me she would. The next incident I witnessed myself. As I was coming into daycare I saw my grandson surrounded by two large Hispanic boys. One of them threw something at my grandson and I yelled that nobody better be putting there hands on my grandson. I asked the attendant what happening and she told me she didn’t know. I asked my grandson and he stated the boys were being mean to him. Now the third incident is a child spitting in my grandson face. This is unacceptable and the way that it was handled was unacceptable. The attendant never told me it was an incident until I asked her what happened. At the time of the incident there was a minimum of 14 kids in daycare and only one attendant. How can one attendant oversee so many children and keep the children safe. The kids are allowed to yell and fight and nothing is reported to the parents. I have been a member for a long time and I feel that my grandson and I haven’t been treated fairly.

It is a very busy place. There is a smell of excrement when you pass by the men's bathrooms (I asked a friend what the bathrooms are like and he says he has seen feces on the wall). They have a genderless bathroom but it is never open. The machines are always busy or some are broken. There is no supervision since there are people with too many dumbbells or they spend time taking photos or talking on the phone. Employees are victims of workplace abuse. And I know of a case of harassment by the person in charge of the place who was in charge of harassing the victim until canceling his membership, I declare it is unfair with respect to whoever deserves it, personal matters should not be mixed with work matters
