Went to Metropolis for the Friday tour and tasting. Super easy to RSVP for the tour via the website. Carrie, the Production Manager, quickly confirmed space availability. Carrie also leads the tour. She is knowledge about Metropolis history and their roasting process. The three different roasting areas were impressive to see along with their packing process. Chris, head roaster, took the time to thoroughly explain the cupping process and their quality control process. They have a small retail area at the entrance for those who want to purchase coffee or other Metropolis merch. I'll be back again with friends.

I visited Metropolis Roasterie as part of the Yelp Cafe Week. A big kudos to our Yelp Community Manager Anna K for making this event happen, as well as the employees of Metropolis Roasterie for allowing us the pleasure of entering their workspace for a tour. You would have to know about Metropolis Roasterie to know that it was in this location because it is located in an area where there are old warehouses located. If you have tunnel vision as you are driving you will miss the entrance to it, as I did while looking for it, but thanks to the assistance of my GPS. And it has its own private tiny parking lot next to its neighbor Metropolitan Brewing. I enjoyed this tour entirely from the story by Carrie of how Metropolis Roasterie began to all of the informative information about coffee, and cupping with Chris, as well as his knowledge. I left Metropolis Roasterie with a recently packaged complimentary bag of coffee which me and my colleagues enjoyed. For those interested, Metropolis Roasterie offers tours every 1st and 3rd Friday at 1 PM to anyone who has made a reservation. And the tours are on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited in size. In the future, I would love to visit its cafe that was brought to my awareness being located in Edgewater, which currently has my interest as far as cafes. And I just noticed that there is a location within the Merchandise Mart Plaza too, if you are in the area. Enjoy! And I hope this review assists you in any way. Thomas G

The tour guide was truly knowledgeable of the company and the roasting of coffee beans. The greeter when we arrived was super pleasant . We'll go back. Also the cold brew coffee was really good.

There facilities are awesome. The roasterie tour was a great experience. If you are interested in the bean roasting process, take part in this tour and enjoy learning about coffee while sipping on the freshest coffee you can get.

Love the location, Kim (the woman at the front desk) was so damn nice. We missed closing time (4pm) by a few minutes and she still let us in to snag a bag if La Cordillera coffee. Metropolis coffee has always been great, but the customer service has taken another big step up today!

Our friends gave us a variety of beans from Metropolis a while ago. They were so good I decided to order from their website and try their Redline Espresso (I live in Geneva). Needless to say these beans really helped improve my cortado and latte game. So much so that our friends and family now stop by my house for their morning coffee. It’s annoying because I like showing off but I also don’t want to share my good beans. The biggest surprise I’ve had is they have limited edition Project X beans that are out-of-this world good. I wish I had an oak cask filled with them at home. I’ve been compelled to join their beans subscription service to maintain my supply. Support local, support awesome quality, support annoying relatives wanting to steal your good coffee.

The Metropolis Roasterie at Rockwell on the River has an amazing staff and some really cool retail items available for purchase (as well as some delicious coffee)! Hunter helped us out and provided 5-star service as well as 5-star friendship. Nicest person on the planet.

Great roastery to order ahead from and pick up in person. Can pick up coffee that was roasted that day or the day before.

Came back from the Roastery like 10 minutes ago, and was confused because I thought it was a local café. But all of the staff there, the front desk, and everyone was super nice, super helpful, showed me where the cafe was made me feel welcome and not dumb for being in the wrong place and even got a sample of their house brew. Probably one of the best black cup of black coffee I’ve had in weeks. Thanks so much! Can’t wait to try the café.
