😐 Had to go to ER Thursday afternoon, waitedover eight hours to see the doctor. Once I received a bed the staff handled .y emergency w/ a kindness & professional manner nothing less then top notch. The only bad part was the awfully long wait. Not all heroes wear capes... People often mention hospital, care, staff, emergency, wait, hours, time, room, told, treated,

Horible. Wait time at er is more then a three hours if you are lucky. Nurse Jane Bonifacio is very rude, talk with other patients about people and with coworkers about other patients.. if you really can avoid this place , do it.. No one came here because they had nothing to do at home.. there is no need to be rude Jane Bonifacio.

I was in the ER Sat 12:10 to 4:30 for extreme dizziness. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. I have to make a special acknowledgment to Dr Chan. He was so friendly so nice not only to me but to my brother who accompanied me to the hospital. He didn't treat us like a patient he treated us like a human being. He had us laughing. He was one of the best doctors that has ever been in there. You need a lot more doctors like him. Three cheers to Dr Chan.

They don’t care at all. The nurses will keep you waiting in the waiting room for days hoping you’ll give up and leave. It’s irresponsible to call this an emergency room. The only way you’ll get treated is if you cause a scene. Respect patient people are not given any type of care. You’re better off going to the cemetery in an emergency because that’s where they want you to go anyway. I’ve seen more sense of urgency in a Wendy’s drive thru line. Not a hospital, just a place they corral you in until you die

Can't say enough about my first experience. Everyone was pleasant and professional from the intake personnel to my meeting with my physician. My physician did not make me feel rushed, took time to listen and asked many questions. Very happy patient!

The AMITA billing customer service is horrible. We have been going back and forth with them for nearly 9 months, with them not able to bill our valid insurance. We called monthly and we’re told it would be fixed, we wrote a written letter via certified mail over 30 days ago and no response. If anyone else is being treated this way let me know. I think it’s time to band together against this garbage.

This was my first time in an emergency room and everyone made me feel safe and welcome. I had a sprained ankle and small bone fracture so obviously patients with more severe cases were taken care of first, but the process was still quick. Each member of their team is incredibly caring and personable, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We have an absolutely terrible experience at this hospital. My grandmother, previously diagnosed with cancer, was treated here, so when she urgently needed help, we brought her back expecting the medical staff to have access to her history. Sadly, this was not the case. We've been waiting over 4 hours just for blood test results and a total of 7 hours overall in the waiting room, with no end in sight. No one can tell us how much longer we'll have to wait. My grandmother is weak, bleeding, and her primary care doctor directed her to the emergency room immediately because her test results indicated severe kidney failure. This is extremely disappointing and concerning. How can you call this place emergency if there is no urgency in their actions…

I just visited this past Friday for an emergency and so glad I decided to visit Res. Honestly, I was hesitant to visit here over Lutheran General because Lutheran has always been my go to but I’m so glad I came to Res. The overnight ER staff was simply incredible. Yes the wait time was long but the care from all of the medical professionals outweighed the wait times. I have never been treated with the utmost empathy and care by an ER visit. Dr. Nicole Colucci specifically was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable and persistent to find out what was causing my pain. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and it shows. She brings a ‘human’ side of the medical field (that I never see) . She even called me a few days later to see how I was feeling! To Dr. Colucci and the front desk male nurse that was working that night… thank you. You both are truly an asset to your organization!

I went here several times 1st was when I had bleeding (14 weeks pregnant). I was seen right away, and tests were done right away to make sure I and my baby were fine. 2nd and 3rd time I came in was because I had so much abdominal pain. The nurses and doctors are so attentive and caring. The wait time is very considerate, unlike other emergency rooms I've been to.

The ER team was so kind, swift, and responsive to our 82 year old's emergency health care needs. Within two hours he was seen by expert doctors and taken to the ICU for precise, amazing care that saved his life. Thank you, Ascension Resurrection Amita for being a model for compassion and excellence in care

The staff in the ER were pleasant and respectful a good experience being in the emergency room clean. Cell phones don't work in the emergency room but I understand. A 5 star experience.

Unfortunately, I was there for over 14 hours. There was a lot of emergencies that day. All the nurses were kind and caring. The doctors were wonderful. They went above and beyond to help me and they even gave me a turkey sandwich & orange juice. There was a very nice lady who worked there, she was cleaning up. Her name was Deirdre. She saw I was hurting and asked me if there was anything she could do to help. She went and found a nurse and a doctor and came in later to see how I was doing. When I left the hospital it was still dark outside and the security officer named Harrison, walked me to my car and made sure I got on my way safely. Thank you to all the nurses and staff in the emergency room. Thanks, Peggyann Rodriguez

I came in on 1/28/24. The intake nurses and other staff seemed totally miserable and lacked basic empathy. They were very dismissive. That was until I was taken for blood work by RN Claudia. She was absolutely wonderful. She spoke so kindly to me and for a little over a hour watched over me while we awaited some medication. She has a kind heart and is a beautiful person. Her and Dr. Cohen are THE ONLY REASON why I am giving this 4 stars. Everyone else needs training in empathy and kindness.

Almost every person I came across in the ER was fantastic and I couldn't have had asked for better treatment. After spending 4 days in the hospital (missing all of Christmas) | was able to go home with surgery to be scheduled imminently. Except it hasn't been and the gynecology office has only said they're busy. I have an appointment next week, but they won't even commit to pick a surgery time while I'm in the office for my appointment. I'm completely bed ridden with a 20cm cyst and a ton of pain medication and other meds. I have no idea what to do and there's nothing I can tell my employer at this point. I guess I hope that after another week of time off everyone comes back and has more availability? The other doctors at the hospital were joking about how much the gynecology team were dragging their feet. I get wanting to have the holiday off and operate with a full staff, but it never occurred to me it would become a real problem. The Director of Nursing and Patient Advocate are on vacation, so l might be heading back to the ER for New Year’s if things continue the way they have been.

When you go inside the hospital, you will meet nice people who will help you get to your destination. The cafeteria had a good variety of food items. It also had a Starbucks, which was good. But when I went to pick up my dad, the security guard told me that im blocking the way. I was only there for 5 minutes. I told him to please wait. But then there was a family that told me to move the car a bit forward. I told them that I am leaving. Shortly after I left the front of the hospital, my dad arrived. But it was too late to back up. And so i was forced to loop all the way back around. I dont understand how the security guard let all the other cars block the front of the hospital. All of those people clearly ignored the no parking sign. Something needs to be done about this as soon as possible. Maybe fine people for $100-200. Whatever it takes to get those parked cars out the front of the hospital. Ultimately, everyone should be allowed to wait in the car at the front of the hospital for at least 10 minutes if they are waiting for someone.

I had an emergency while on a flight from Fl to California. Our first stop was Chicago. I was taken to the ER and I was treated so professionally and caring. As a southern lady I felt I was treated with southern hospitality. The entire staff was so kind and took wonderful care of me. I was apprehensive going to a Chicago hospital coming from a small town but I would recommend them to anyone. I was treated promptly and was given excellent treatment. Thank you to everyone for taking care of me during my time of need.

Response to the Patient: 5star Quality of work: 2star Their response was pretty good taking care of the patient ASAP went there at 11pm ER i had to visit them for a 2nd degree burn and I didn’t have to wait but i felt the nurse didn’t know what he was doing because he just put my hand under running water, applied an ointment just covered my wrist with a regular gauze and part of my hand while the wound on my finger was still exposed i had to ask them if this was okay and then he wrapped my finger too but with a regular gauze. I believe they should have used a nonsticking gauze because the gauze was stuck to my skin which was very painful to remove.

This ER is VERY understaffed which results in subpar care. They sent me home cause I said I felt better & they should not have with the results of my EKG but I don't think they even looked at it. Understaffed & overwhelmed is how I'd describe this ER

I’m a recent transplant recipient and would normally have gone to Northwestern Hospital ER. I stupidly asked if I could go to a local hospital. My mistake. They released me without even knowing if the med would work. As a transplant recipient infections can be a bit more severe. Then to top it all off instead of watching to see if the medication works they immediately discharged a 64 year old woman that could barely stand or walk at 1am. They did offer a wheelchair to take me to the door I will never recommend this hospital to anyone and if anyone were ever to mention this hospital I will tell them how and why I feel as I do. Considering that I reside in Autumn Green senior living and quite a few residents are back and forth to Resurrection. I am not the type that truly bad mouths people. But I don’t hold my tongue about facts.

The ER was really busy, running out of rooms, not enough beds and a tremendously overworked staff. Yet my care was professional, the staff was terrific. Calm, concerned and caring I was treated very well. I was bothered by the fire department men were not wearing their masks properly. I didn’t notice the paramedics having any problem wearing them at all. I was in the hall for a while for observation due to the staff needing my room for incoming patients ( not a problem) there were three of us in the hall receiving care.

Horrible service the security is rude the big guy in the e.r has a nasty attitude they had me sit and wait for over 6 hrs and I am still here and still haven't seen anyone this is ridiculous no one comes out to let you know anything and the staff all they say is I'm sorry you feel that way and quickly if someone comes hrs behind you they take them and still make you wait what's it going to take to get better service for someone to die in the waiting room just because they pick and choose who is more important news flash everyone is important DO NOT GO HERE PICK ANOTHER HOSPITAL and if I can give them negative stars I would!!!!!!

Be careful who you get triaged by in the ER, they will talk smack about their patients to the doctors right outside the rooms so the patients can hear

My husband has been hospitalized for several days and they don't let you stay as support at night, he really needs it. And to visit him although the page says that they allow you to enter at 8am when you arrive they tell you that you cannot enter until 11am. So I lost 3 hours waiting, 3 hours that I can be with him… I find the “new rules” of the hospital a bit unfair.

My friend told by her doctor to go to ER due to chest pain and dizziness. 10 hours of dealing with incompetent staff only to be told by resident dr that cause was BP meds prescribed by her doctor. Also told to find another job. She will be filing a complaint with all governing bodies. What a terrible place.

If I have to die I will not visit your ER again. Tonight I came in with extreme chest pains on right side. From 4pm to 620pm I was registered, seen by a doctor had an chest xray done told blood would be next. At 625pm I recieved my chest xray results via amita mychart I read the results on my own, was told by text message have an ultra sound at 645pm but where? No one could answer me. Then some male nurse I had to ask him what is going on with my blood work he said I am in line, what Line they are taking people over me. Ok So I wait than he comes back at 640pm takes me to the ER to change and sit in a bed. I ask for what he says blood work and more, excuse me I told him the Doctor said only blood to be drawn I do not want to sit in the ER bed for hours. He and another guy said ok than sit here and wait for a Doctor. (So Rude) at 8:09pm no one has come to see me I hear people screaming from the room next to me and I ask a hospital employee if I can get some help she tells me ask over there. Well at this point I left, I would never recommend this place to anyone, They keep you there purposely for hours to collect insurance money. You all in the medical field need to be ashamed of yourself there are very good medical teams out there and some that I feel just got a diploma on craigslist to work in medicine. This was one of the worst patient treatments I have had and I have been in and out of hospitals all my life. Thank you very much for the worst medical treatment in my history of hospitals and Doctors visits.
