I am currently staying at the hotel until Tuesday. The Gran Meliá Sancti Petri in Cádiz offers a generally pleasant atmosphere, but the experience was disappointing due to the lack of exclusivity in the Red Level. The hotel has impressive architecture and lush surroundings, creating a relaxing environment. Rooms are very well furnished and spacious (keep in mind that mine is the biggest room). Culinary offerings are acceptable, but the breakfast buffet could have been better, since they are short in staff. However, the Red Level access was underwhelming, with inadequate control measures in place and seemingly unrestricted entry. This diminished the exclusive experience I was expecting due our status and most expensive room in the hotel. Overall, the Gran Meliá Sancti Petri might be suitable for a TRUE exclusive experience.

In all honesty, the hotel is not a 5-star hotel as far as the food goes, not by a long shot.. The courses were repetitive and lacked overall taste and quality, diversity(absolutely no seafood - shrimp/mussels) during an entire week’s stay. The deserts were absolutely terrible - no flavor! The staff seemed overwhelmed and not very friendly. The pool was extremely cold, even more so than the ocean. The rooms are the only thing up to par in terms of comfort and cleanliness. The Michelin-star restaurant is a disappointment. As a quick comparison - an Iberostar hotel is way better for the same amount of money as was another Gran Melia hotel the previous year. All in all, I would definitely not return unless it is accompanied by a -50% discount.

Stay away from this hotel! My husband and I booked 4 days at the Gran Melia hotel to celebrate my birthday, on the second day the Valet drove our new car into a bush and scratched the rear of the car. When we complained to management after hours of frustrating negotiations they finally agreed to cover the cost of the fix however, once we left the hotel and sent them the cost (a few days later) they retracted their offer and told us they will not pay for the fix. I would strongly recommend anyone NOT to visit this hotel, it was the worst, most stressful experience, the staff were rude to us, messed up our car and took to accountability or even money off our final bill!

good food, good spa, good external structured. the room almost does not have AC. outsider 40, inside 31 with ac full Power full speed. we advised and they sent technicians, they said It Is the maximum the system can do. these things happen in a 2 star hotel not in a 5...

An amazing hotel and staff! We came here with the intention to stay one night and after seeing the beauty of this place and this 5star hotel in all its sense we decided to stay 2 extra nights. The beach is mindblowing, you step into the hotel and already feel relax, instalations top, food amazing. Spa great. But what i saw here is the best is their staff. We wanted to stay 2 extra nights but the hotel was fully booked. The staff tried to help us, and finally thanks to Nieves in reception who did everything to make it happen she even run to pick up my mum in the smoking zone to tell her she had found a solution. Hotel owners should reward and value such excellent staff they have cause its for that reason that people have a great time and want to come back! Hotel 100% recommended me and my mum decided to come back now every year!! Tip : pay the little extra for the room with sea view and garden it was heaven!!

Magical stay, again. This hotel is located in a slice of paradise. The staff are great, but we just love the building and the grounds. Kudos to the architect and designers for creating such a wonderful space. Afternoons here, chilling by the pool under the warm rays of the sun and taking a cooling dip are simply sublime. Easy direct access to the beach with sun loungers for hotel guests, this must be one of the best and most underrated stretches of beach in Europe. If you can do Red Level, we would recommend it, it makes the stay that bit more special. We will be back again, and again… if you are looking for a hotel in this area, look no further.

Very nice hotel with direct access to the beautiful Barrosa beach ……..we got a beautiful room with a garden and access to the pool and also access to the Red Level lounge. However, I removed two stars as it is very difficult to book restaurants if you are not Spanish in high season ! They are usually booked so you do not get to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.. other than this .. everything is perfect. EDITED: changed from3 stars to 5 after the great effort done by Carolina from guest relations to find us restaurants. Today we had lunch at the beach restaurant and it was really fantastic. Thank you Gran Melia for the great attention and service and for the quick response to my comment.

A beautiful hotel complex with friendly staff. You feel welcome when you arrive. Situated on a beautiful and long beach. So far on our road trip, the most beautiful beach. We had a relaxing time. Thank you very much.

The last 4 years we have fallen in love with Playa de la Barossa in Novo Sancti Petri - Cadiz. As far as beaches concerned, this is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches you can imagine. Not crowded, clean, no high-rise buildings along the coast and beautiful dunes. The ultimate beach for enjoying a nice vacation. During previous visits we got to know the “Duna beach club” from the “Gran-Melia Hotel”. We used to have late afternoon lunches there. The seafood and atmosphere are really outstanding. Very relaxing, as they have a “Tapas like” menu which let’s you choose just the nice things you like, accompanied with a wonderful wine selection. Almost every day we got excellent service from waitress Sylvia Guzman. She really delivered “Servicio con una Sonrisa”. During our visits we discussed where we stayed and she suggested to have a look inside the “Gran Melia” in the evening, which we did. Her suggestion proved to be valuable, because we were taken by the wonderful and relaxed atmosphere of the “Gran Melia”. So for this year September’s vacation at Playa de la Barossa, we decided to stay in the Gran Melia. From the check-in to check-out we felt at home, surrounded by a staff who did everything to assure that all is to your satisfaction. We booked half-board and mainly used the “El Patio”, a buffet restaurant, where we found everything to our taste. Food choices and preparation are really good. Above all, having diner in the patio area is a real treat. If you sit down there in the evening, you get the feeling that you don’t need anything else. Furthermore we enjoyed wonderful afternoons at the “Duna beach club”, where again, Sylvia made sure that we didn't lack anything. During the day we loved the gorgeous pool and also there the service is excellent. We are frequent travellers and have come around, so if you are looking for a relaxing vacation, we can really recommend the “Gran Melia Novo Sancti Petri”. In our limited Spanish: “Gran Melia es Suave”. Thanks to the Gran Melia staff for an unforgettable stay. Special thanks to Sylvia !!

Superb hotel with exec lounge providing excellent food snacks and branded quality drinks. Took suite which was fine if not a bit tired, although I suspect it had been touched up recently... furniture needs updating but this did not detract from the best hotel we have stayed in,in spain. Definitely is a 5 star, with well trained and pleasant staff throughout.. Highly recommended.

First of all, it’s a really nice hotel. The ambiance is calm and relaxing, the beach is just a minute away, the sunsets were beautiful. But we are talking about a 5-star hotel so there are some expectations and comparisons as well. So there are the points that I would like to mention as a feedback: 1. English language is a huge problem here. Most of the staff didn’t understand the simplest sentences! I mean I don’t expect them to speak my native German, but at least basic English should be present at a 5 star hotel. 2. Mostly the service was quite friendly, I really tried to use my basic Spanish, but some waiters, for example the ones at the beach bar, couldn’t say or understand any word in English and were very unfriendly and impatient and were talking Spanish like we wouldn’t exist until someone English speaking came. It felt very unpleasant. Guys, you gotta at least learn “you’re welcome”, “here you are”, “do you need anything else?”, “thank you”. I’m the guest at this hotel, but somehow I’m forced to use the translator and feel like I’m not welcome here. 3. Nespresso capsules and tea were never refilled. As we asked the staff, why, they told us we gotta call when it’s empty so that it’s refilled. So I should call every day? Obviously yes. Hmm..like I have nothing else to think about on my vacation? Wish you all the best and thanks for the pleasant stay.

Beautiful hotel with excellent service and staff. This is actually the first hotel that looks better in person than in the photos. The location is in a beautiful, green resort town, right on the ocean coast. The service is impeccable and all the staff is very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Really lovely hotel. Very modern and well maintained. The location on the beach is perfect and the staff are super helpful. They have a great choice of restaurants too and a chiringuito with free use of the umbrellas when you want to be at the beach. The red level option offers more and is worth upgrading to this level as you get free food and drinks throughout the day.

Super spot, we love the area and know that there aren't any intl level 5 star hotels. But this one is a 80s left over (albeit built end of the 90s). Design and level of rooms is 3 star max. They re did the rooms recently and managed to forget to re do water spots an walls and keep the original and broken windows in. For half the money maybe, but they charge Gran Meliá prices which is just a joke. Not again!
