The Commons Social Empourium

Bar

👍👍 Ok, here we go. This place is awesome. A different experience for me. When you walk in the door, you order your food. If you are drinking beer, you get a blank white card. There are rows of taps to choose from. The IPAs are mostly together. You tap the card at the base of the description of the bee... People often mention pizza, beer, good, beers, spot, great, time, Chico,

Ok, here we go. This place is awesome. A different experience for me. When you walk in the door, you order your food. If you are drinking beer, you get a blank white card. There are rows of taps to choose from. The IPAs are mostly together. You tap the card at the base of the description of the beer . You poor your own beer. You can poor as little as you want to taste . The staff helps first-timers. There is a game section, too. It's really fun. Two large TVs with sports playing. Oh, and the pizza is really good, too. Kinda fancy ingredients. The pesto veg really didn't have anything but tomatoes and onions, but it was still very tasty. The chicken and waffle pizza was new to me , it was fun to try something new.

I love the multiple beer choices on tap and love the idea of pouring my own beer 🍺. No waiting in line for a busy bartender to finally get to you. They have live music sometimes and food trucks in the parking lot. I can't wait to come back. On top of all the amazing beers they have charging areas along the seating area 😀

This pizza really hit the spot. The recipe in the dough is perfect. enough air, enough crunch. it's perfect. The toppings were super fresh tasting and I love the balsamic glaze on top with basil. Would highly recommend this spot over any other in chico if you are looking for quality pie.

The new outdoor space is really great! My signature cocktail margaritas were delicious! So was the pizza slice! My complaints are the greeters should be a little more understanding if it's your first time visiting as the ordering and payment system is a little unconventional as you basically open a tab as you walk in. My second complaint would be to make it 21 and over at 9pm. I felt awkward standing in line for a cocktail with children literally running all around me. Personal opinion of course..

10/10 for spectacular customer service and cleanliness! Most definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some delicious food, made with the freshest ingredients & love. Andy has been amazing, he makes the environment so welcoming! We will most definitely be coming back.

This is one of my absolutely favorite places in Chico. Honestly, the self serve vibe reminds me of alot of my hometown San Diego, there are quite a few spots in north park that have that option so this reminds me of being home. Every time my hubby and I have been here we meet new friends and all the staff is always super nice and friendly, I will be bringing any friends that come from out of town here, this is THE SPOT. On another note, all the pizza's are good but my personal favorite is the chile verde carnitas pizza, its so FIRE, ya'll have to try it asap!! A great place to get together, play games, enjoy the atmosphere, and eat some good food. There were 7 of us in my party, we were celebrating 2 birthdays. We were able to eat, play games, laugh, listen to music, chill, and enjoy the outdoor patio.

Great time here , visiting a Chico friend with sister, bf, and 2.5yr olds. Perfect pizza and adult beverages. I like the tap card set up, pleasantly surprised they had wine on tap too.

Really great place to hangout and have amazing beers that you choose and pour by the ounce! All the staff is also really nice.

All the beer is self-serve. A huge selection. Pizza is amazing. They have their own pizza rwcipies that are unique to their establishment. It's a really cool place.

Place is one of the best places to drink in Chico. Lots of different beers on tap. Plus wine. Plus ciders as well as a mix of other sweeter beers. And now they have a spot to buy cocktails as well. Oh yeah and a dj with good music as well as food to order. Highly recommend.

I always love going to The Commons. When it first opened, it was a unique bar experience. This social emporium has grown up quite a bit, and maturity looks very good on this Chico spot. They still have a very open and inviting atmosphere where the clientele is of the more relaxed and laid back. This isn't a place to get rowdy. That's what the downtown spots are for. This place is where you and your pals can come, have a drink, and some delicious artisan pizza along with some conversation and laughs.

I regret that I didn't try the pizza while I was here; it sure looks good! But I was full from some Thai food I had earlier. I digress. This is a good pour-your-own-drink type of place. There is wine, including a good zinfandel. No blueberry wheat beer, sadly. But they have a good variety otherwise. Every standard beer genre, and hard kombucha and hard seltzer. This would be a great place to bring friends, but I don't have any.

Great options for self service drinks. It's a good way to be able to try a wide variety of beer without ordering full glasses. The pizza is also some of the best in Chico it's soooo good. Great atmosphere and overall a chill spot.

Tl;dr: Go check it out! The Commons is a fantastic place to grab a drink with friends. They have a nice selection of beers, ciders, and wines, and they even have a pizza place in there now! The atmosphere is great, complete with a handful of TVs and numerous games to play (including classic arcade games and Cornhole). To top it off, the staff has always been great in our experience, and the owners even took the time to chat with us while we were there one evening.

My husband, 4.5 year old, 5 month old puppy, and I all enjoyed this place! I don't like beer, but their mango cider was amazing! Also, their pizza is some of the best I've tried in Chico! They are very dog friendly, kid friendly, and adult friendly. We can't wait to come back soon!

Fun spot for drinks... pour your own wine, beer, cider, hard seltzer and hard kombucha by the oz.

Great beer selection with "choose your own amount" beer, cider and kombucha. They've added pizza to their menu and it's Delicious!

Great atmosphere. Good energy. The dance floor gets really crowded if there is a popular band playing. Staff are friendly. They have a table fire pit going on the front.

This is some of the best pizza around, with some fun options. They have a chicken and waffles pizza with butter instead of pizza sauce and jalapeno bacon. I was skeptical it it was awesome. Next time I'll try it with the optional egg. And the beer is fun. You fill up as much of whichever ones you want, and they charge by the oz.. So I tend to do 4oz at a time of several. That way I can sample many while never letting the stuff in my glass get warm.

Loved the live music indoors today because of the weather. Loved the pizza even more, plus the peanut butter stout, Devine. And the new hat from the store rocks. This week are here to watch our favorite local band the Retrotones

I've visited the commons on several occasions and have always enjoyed it. My latest visit was no exception. I am a big fan of hazy IPA beers and happened across what may be one of my new favorites. The brewery: Toppling Goliath Brewing Company the beer: Forced Flair. Absolutely delicious! What makes The Commons so special is thier ever revolving beers on tap.
