A good piece of public land in chico. Easily accessible trails from each side of the creek. Always dog friendly and never empty. Prime hiking hours can be early morning and early evening for beautiful skies. Notable locations Monkey face rock formation. Upper trail. Annie bidwell trail. Yahi trail , And just about anything else you stumble upon.

Upper park is the best place to go “outdoors” in Chico. You can golf on a very nice course, frisbee golf, shoot at the gun club, fish at horseshoe lake, hike monkey face, mountain bike, take your dog for a walk “off leash”. The best part of upper park id Bear Hole!!!

It's great to have such a large open public place. The changes in elevation give spectacular views, and the trails offer great access.

Hiked the Yahi Trail. Beautiful fall colors and temperatures are perfect this time of year. Kid friendly adventuresome hike for 8 year old. The trail is mostly flat and runs along the creek. Lots of places to meditate or have a picnic. We went back on the road which was not too bad given we saw only five cars. Beautiful park great for hiking and summer swimming.

Beautiful scenery! Peaceful. The people we run into are almost always nice! There is a porta potty in the parking lot.

This is one of the best parks ever, dogs allowed, on left side of road theyre allowed off leash. See all of California's seasons vividly. 2nd largedt city park in USA. Update: still amazing as always. Right now has a super bloom from all the recent rain that wont last long!(april 2023)

We celebrated my granddaughters 1st birthday in Caper Acres. It was a wonderful experience, and my very first time at Bidwell Park. My daughter was able to reserve a spot to have the party and it didnt cost anything ! It saved us so much money, as we were prepared to pay for a venue. And it was absolutely a lovely park ! It is well maintained, clean, has many things to keep children active, and happy ! I would highly recommend Bidwell Park to others- and I just saw a fraction of the park ! What an asset Bidwell Park is to Chico and the families living there !

Awesome to take your family and friends with on a good hike. Great adventure for adults on higher up trials to lower by the river for kids or just to get back to your car walk back from up top trials.

Off the roundabout. Wide open surrounds with wildlife. Amazing. I attended the last of the season’s (full moon) nighttime nature walks led by Mr. Oscar Rodriguez. Friendly and informed guide, catch him next spring! Sign up at the CARD office. Wear your head lamp!

A great hiking area with clearly marked trails. We hiked Upper, Middle and the creekside Vahi trail. It was about 4 miles, a good distance for a warm day.

There are clear paths with different difficulties. Ample space to roam with your canine friend; they are supposed to be on leash though most aren't: beware. With California rain being up and out there is plenty of greenery and places to take pictures if hiking isn't really your thing. As mentioned before there has been a lot of rain recently so the river is currently strong- watch out for your puppers and children. As far as I saw, there wasn't anyone enforcing any of the rules. If it a popular place so the parking may be a little difficult.

Nice trails and lookouts. Nice place to MTB too. We started at mile10 trailhead and it was all downhill from there but not extremely bad.

To be honest, I was her Pokemon hunting with my daughter. The place looked clean and well kept, I didn't take but one picture, and although it is covered in graffiti, it looks really cool. A tiny walk to get to it and the rest of the land around it looked great. My daughter has her own pictures from a previous visit and in the middle tunnel, she and her bf had taken pictures and they did in the water, if you do it just right it looks like you are standing on water.

Great place to bike, hike, walk, take your dogs, watch a sunrise or sunset, there's man made lake and a river with lots of swimming holes, I highly recommend taking a visit
