We tried Dravida bhojnam - One of most exotic and biggest thali in namma bengaluru with over 40+ dishes that too only at 299 for veg and 399 for non veg. Taste is amazing and authentic. Chef Murgan prepared the food and served us and he did an incredible job.. more reviews and details in my Instagram page - @one.step4ward, do follow guys.. thanks again

It’s located in Church street. We had veg and non veg thali. That was most range of veg thali I’ve ever seen. My husband said it’s very tasty and satisfying as well. I ate non veg, it was good too. Lot of chicken curries, mutton, a fish fry, and even an boiled egg were served. Dosa, parata, puri were properly and freshly cooked too. Staffs were helpful and attentive. Price is reasonable! I can definitely go there again. Thali is available only during weekdays lunch.

Dropped in here for dinner on a weekend and we were surprised to find it quite empty initially. Mr.Murugan was very accommodating for our requests and was very prompt in the service as well. We tried the thali and all the items were quite delicious! We were so full by the end of the meal.. the desserts were perfectly sweet! Also we loved the old style cutlery used, added a beautiful touch to the meal 😊

After trying their outlet in JP Nagar, visited their outlet in Church Street which is comparatively smaller to the JP Nagar outlet. Located on the second floor, there is a lift available to reach. The place was near empty and we took the seat of our choice. We tried the following: karibevu chicken, chicken donne biriyani, veg thali, elaneer lime and elaneer payasam. Items took about 15 mins to be served but all items came in together. Taste was good and authentic. Some of the menu options were unavailable. They didn't have non veg thali. The ambience is decent but the music they play is very soothing. Overall we had a good experience and staff are friendly as well.

They had all the most famous south biryani's served in a single plate! The concept is cool though. Service was a bit delayed because of the crowd even on a Thursday. The atmosphere was a bit suffocating because of the closed area with a lot of crowd. The serving folks were great though.

It's a delicious authentic south Indian food place. Would recommend the Non-veg/ Veg platter. The mutton chops and the fresh fish curry were scrumptious. Finally don't miss out on coconut moose/pudding, MUST TRY!!

Unlimited South Indian Thalis (with 40+ items)!! Yes, that’s true!! Karnatic is offering one of the largest South Indian Thalis - “Dravida Bhojanam” at an unbelievable price of ₹299 for veg thali and ₹399 for non-veg thali. The name “Dravida Bhojanam” is derived from the Dravidian Culture which still has a large influence on the South Indian cuisine. This thali contains items that represents all the traditional flavors of Dravidian cuisine - Sweet, Pungent, Bitter, Salty, Sour, etc. Each part of the thali is inspired by some of the South India’s traditionally affluent locations. And yes, the interiors of this place is decked with beautiful paintings that look so real. So, go ahead try out and get on a tasteful journey across South India from the comfort your seating.

Loved the chicken biryani. Very good ambience and authentic feeling.Karnatic Restaurant offers a delightful journey into South Indian cuisine. Nestled in the heart of church street, it exudes a warm, inviting ambiance. The aroma of freshly ground spices sets the tone for an authentic experience. The service was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, Karnatic Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional taste of South Indian culinary heritage. The coconut mousse is a must tryy desert.

We had ordered appam, Malabar chicken curry, chicken biriyani Nati style which were really good. I was fascinated by Rayalseema lemon pepper chicken which was a weird and not so authentic Rayalseema dish. Service was really fantastic. No finger bowl being served but got to use hand wash. Next time would like to try prawns or chicken ghee roast with beer dosa and there authentic multi biriyani option.

It was our first visit yesterday. Through the word of mouth. The restaurant was decently crowded. There was some biryani festival going on. Festival apart, 1. Waiting time is too much, even if we reserve the table online we have to wait for atleast 40 minutes. No one bothers even if we request that the kids and elders are there, staff handling the waiting customers are very hyper and arrogant. Their cooking process is very slow that’s why the waiting time, or else there is nothing much in that. 2. Ambience is good, decent, air conditioned. 3. Serving staff - none of them know the regional language, I am not sure about the proprietor. Again, serving staff are not friendly, and they simply wander here and there like kids, behaving awkward in front of the customers. Forget it. 4. Food - yes there are decent options of food, liquor also available in a limited menu. Hygiene is maintained, taste is okay. Deep fried items are not so great, off-course deep fried items contain oil but in this restaurant it’s not properly fried. 5. Let’s come to their table reservation, billing, payment and advertising part. The phone of the restaurant which is available in google is 24/7 switched off. They themselves have provided us the option to reserve the table via online e-commerce websites like “easy-diner” and they have mentioned that payment is accepted through the same Easy-Diner and all other platforms. Once we finished our dinner and the waiter brought the bill, I said I will pay through Easy Diner App since their restaurant is tied up with Easy diner for reservations and payments, now started the tug off between me and the person at the billing counter, I really don’t know what was his problem or the management’s problem, they suddenly said they accept easy diner payments only for limited food options. It was ridiculous. I realised that I became fool by watching logs of this restaurant and over hypes given. They want e-commerce apps for reservations and don’t accept the payments from them. I finally ended up arguing with the staff, paid the bill and left the restaurant. All I can say is, it’s an overrated restaurant in the city. The main thing to improvise is, staff behaviour, management is more of money minded, it won’t work in long term, their false promises in advertising, and sorting out their niggles with payments. That’s it.

Ambience is great. But effing overpriced. It definitely wasn't worth the price we paid. Moreover, the price listed in menu was tricky. They charged 4x for the meals we had. And their reasoning was horrible. And talking about the time they took to serve, they made us wait for more than 20 minutes before they provided welcome drink. Extremely dissatisfied with this.

Been for thali dated 26th August 22, lunch around 2pm. Horrible experience, served rice, made to wait for sambar for 10 mins, on table was made to wait for 15mins to start service (apart from waiting period for above 30min). Staff look busy, but food were not served. Kindly avoid church street, were as JP nagar outlet served better service and food.

Lots of posts on Instagram about this place, so here goes a try. It was just too hyped (not worth the hype) maybe because you get to taste a variety of biryani at once in a thali which I really appreciate. The taste of the biryanis was average. A total of 7 biryani and 2 piece kebab for 599 is a bit overrated but was filling the empty stomach. rs99 beer (only KF Ultra Max) is optional though. Ambience could've been better or maybe that's the max they can get in that space. It's a good visit if you want to taste a variety of biryanis!

Its an amazing resturant offering authentic native cuisine, they have a wide variety to choose from, their neer dosa with different non-veg ghee roast curries to the fish fries to different bajjis and not to forget the mandya style mutton soup everything is just delicious. A must try for all non-veg lovers, i have tried in both their branches and they offer the same taste.

We decided to go to Karnatic because we wanted to try a restaurant with South Indian cuisine and Karnatic was listed as having a discount of 15% on Dineout. I wasn't planning to have the soup but I liked the sound of the Kozhi Kothamalli Rasam soup. For starters, we had the Chintamani Chicken and Prawn Sukka. I loved all 3 items. My father-in-law had the Paneer Ghee Roast. Everyone liked that a lot as well. For main course, we had Neer Dosa, Chicken Kurma, and Chicken Biriyani. The biriyani was a bit bland but mixed with the Chicken Kurma, it was excellent. The Neer Dosa and Chicken Kurma combination was also very good. For dessert, we had the Coconut Mousse. I was stuffed by the time dessert was done. The food was very spicy apart from the dessert. While I prefer food that is not too spicy, I loved all the dishes we ordered. The service was excellent. Tony, our server was quite helpful in helping us decide what to order. Overall, I had a great experience.

The food was below par. We ordered a non-vegetarian thali, however the kabab and fish fry was burned and the meat wasn't very fresh. The worst part of valet parking is having to wait for the car for longer than you would be at the hotel. The overall experience was poor, and Dineout or Zomato Pro are unacceptable for ordering thali

This place is located in the heart of the city Church street, Bengaluru Was here on "Beeriyani festival" @karnatic.blr where they serve 10 types of biryani starting from just Rs. 99. They also have an option of separate individual plates of biriyani which starts from Rs.99 as well as the entire biryani thali. Total 10 varieties of Biryani (both veg and non veg) They serve 6 kinds of biryanis in the non veg thali. Price for chicken 599 Price for mutton 699, Veg Thali - 349, Beer not included in thalis (it can be an add-on for inr 99 only) Loved the mushroom biryani and veg biryani. My friend tried non veg thali and they also liked all the varieties of biryani in thali Their ambience is very traditional and during beeriyani festival food is also served in traditional attire.

Karnatic has a mix of cuisine from different South Indian states. However the food was pretty average. Service can be better. I was surprised that even the bisi bele bath we got was not good. We had ordered Andhra chilli eggs (was super spicy but that’s all about the taste), bisi bele bath (average) and another egg dish of which I can’t recall the name (second picture; the texture and taste was bad). The ambience is also not great owing to very dim lighting making the space seem sullen.

This is a must go place for all the Biryani Lovers, here in Bengaluru, specially if you love Beer along with Biryani, because they got a special platter going on with the name of "Beeryani", that comes with 9 different types of Biryanis(bowl cup portion) along with an add-on of Kingfisher Ultra pint (99/- only). The Biryanis are from different South India places including Hyderbadi Biryani, all with different tastes and flavours, the kebabs served with it are also awesome. We order another separate dish, Chicken Ghee Roast, it is just magic for all the hot & spicy lovers, most recommended. Do give it a try. Thanks!

This place lost its charm. I used to visit this place often when I was in working near by area. Used to love their Thali and especially the dessert made out of coconut. I went there after a long gap, was very upset with the food options and even the taste of the coconut dessert. I took first bite and it was smelling really different and taste wasn't good at all. It was so pricey and I didn't wanna waste food. So I tried having few more bites then my throat started hurting. May be because of too much coconut oil in the dessert. Went in Hungry and got out hungry. I'm really sad to see that it used to be a great place for food and now it's not the same. In the past I gave 4 stars and now I am not ready to give even one star.

It's very well said that all that glitters is not gold. This very much applies to this place. The look and feel of this place is really nice however the food was nothing above average, it provides lot of variety of dishes from various region of south india, but quantity doesn't guarantee quality. The taste is really average. We tried Meals here but disappointed, Andhra thali at Nandhana Palace and Nagarjuna has a limited option in comparison to this place but taste in Karnatic is not even close to them. Also the vegetarians please just avoid this place , Nagarjuna is very near to this place try that . Also the service was very slow even when it was not crowded too much. We had ordered same meals for three persons but the server kept forgetting equal distribution of one or the other item, we had to remind them,Sorry If It sounds bit harsh but honestly the experience apart from the ambience wasn't satisfactory.

I had been back to Bengaluru from Qatar after COVID was eased on this relief time had a great opportunity to take my family members for proper lunch visited this place checking out the menu & ambience was good and the staff who managed our table took orders for our food we were of 12 members . Honestly worst food I've tried for non veg lovers especially . We almost complained for most of the meat dishes the staff was bit rude and doesn't matter if the customer is satisfied or not . Mutton biryani the piece was so hard to chew when asked the staff he said it was buctherd today but the mutton in the Gravy was tender . Please 🙏 kind request to not try Elaner payasam it's a proper scam overall . I regretted travelling 1200 miles to come and try this food and had the worst experience ever .

Visited for lunch. The menu is not that attractive. The food was very spicy. The restaurant ran out of soda by 2pm, the lemon water was served with spoilt lemon and they replaced it without even arguing showing that they knew it was spoilt or over ripe kept in the fridge for days. Mushroom starter n neer dosa were good out of all the dishes ordered. Bill came 1200 for two which is on the costlier side compared to the food quality.

Food was amazing. Had ordered kaal soup , chicken ghee roast, mutton biriyani and chicken biriyani. Soup is a little different from usual chicken soups, but if you are looking for something authentic or 'taste of grandma's' must visit. Chicken ghee roast was my favourite, every spices used were lip smacking. If you are looking for a different taste , an authentic Karnataka taste then this place will satisfy you. Although it is at a little higher edge and quantity is less but quality & taste is amazing.

Located on the Church Street, Carnatic is an authentic South Indian restaurant with royal interiors and spacious enough to keep a good crowd. I visited this place to try their newly launched all day breakfast menu which they serve on Sundays from 8pm. We started with some beverages like majjige, lime water and tulasi seeds and panka which is made of muskmelon and one of their famous drinks. Heading to the dishes, we tried the mutton chops which was well cooked, akki roti tasted yum with the green chutney, the kaal soup or the mutton leg soup was just okay. The crisp plain dosa was perfect with the green and tomato chutney and the egg kothu parota was delicious. In the biryani section, we had the chicken biryani which was delightful with the salan and gutti vankaya pulav which is made with brinjal was a unique and amazing dish I have ever tried though I am not a fan of eggplants. We also had some of their desserts and the coconut moose and kulfi were just the best. 😋

We have stepped in on Sankranti Day and We have ordered their Special Thali at 499 but trust me the food portion is very small and one time only. Taste is very worse and more over it is just one time only. I suggest n recommend that don't try for it. Even though we have ordered from Ala caete but the food quality is very bad.

Hi , I would want to rate it 0 , This review is for the JP nagar Hotel . The management is horrible, once the order was placed they come back after half hour and say the starter is not available. Next after change of order still we waited for more half hour and still nothing was served . (Both starter and main course) After waiting for one hour no response & we started to leave they did not bother about it . I went in search of the service boy and asked and all they said it is crowded .( rush ide sir ) so we left .

The food was ordinary, we were a party of three. They don't serve chutney with Neer Dosa ! So much for South Indian food. We ordered bonda soup, it was more like salt soup, when complained, the service personnel nodded their head and did nothing Lack of chutney forced us to order Avarekayi side dish, could not make anything out of it, it was not made well Good decor and church street alone can't make a restaurant. Avoid

The attentive and knowledgeable staff added to the overall positive experience. They guided me through the menu, suggesting pairings that enhanced the dining experience. The service was prompt and courteous, creating an atmosphere of warmth that complemented the delicious meal. The restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients shone through in every bite. Freshness and authenticity were evident in the locally sourced produce, elevating the dishes to a level of culinary excellence. The chef's dedication to innovation was apparent in the creative twists on classic recipes, leaving me eager to return for more. The ambiance was a perfect blend of sophistication and comfort, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and celebratory gatherings. The tasteful decor and subdued lighting added to the overall charm, creating an inviting atmosphere. While the prices reflected the restaurant's commitment to quality, the overall value was unquestionable. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring a satisfying dining experience.

So travelled nearabout 15 KMs and visited this place few months back and yes this place really does justice to its popularity. I liked the masala dosa a lot.
