Must visit place if you are going down in chillaw-negambo road. Beautiful temple with artistic and colourful statues. Taking pictures inside the kovil is prohibited. Yet a beautiful temple overall.

A highly maintained private temple strictly following the credentials of the temple. The sound of the big bell ringering in our ears will take us to a new world of positive vibrations. Wonderful spiritual experience.

One of the biggest decorated murugan temple located between chilaw and madampe. This is the first place for the tourists who arrived to kattunayaka international airport and moving to north of Sri Lanka . Toilet facilities are available and a small vegetarian food shop is located at the front. Entrance free and please follow the temple rules if you are new . In the temple surrounding you can located a rare historical flower call "Lingodpavamalar"

Though it is named as Madampe-Murugan Kovil, many people call it the Little Kataragama (පුංචි කතරගම) Temple. When I got in there, it was clear to me why people was calling like that. This cannot be compared to Kataragama. But this one also beautiful. Inside of temple there is full of idols on walls and depicted as stories. The temple opens at 5 pm where in the pujari does puja with aaarati and there is rhythm of drums played during this time. Photos can be taken only in limited areas. Not only Hindus, any other religion people are allow to visit this place. Parking area is available. Flower stalls are available near the kovil specially on Fridays but not sure about other days.

The Famous murugan temple in Madambe. It is located just 8 Km before Chilaw on the Colombo-Chilaw road on the right. The big statute of Lord Murugan on the roadside will attract your attention when you are travelling in this road. There are various statues of gods inside the temple. There is a washroom facility in the compound and a vegetarian restaurant just outside the compound. tasted Dosai there. Price is very reasonable. Very nice place to see everyone...

It’s nice place to visit located in Madampe area (Colombo-Puttalam main road). A calm place due to less crowd. Statues and sculptures are perfectly designed and has a colorful atmosphere.
