It was a nice location with a peaceful environment. Environment is filled with the sea breeze (which I love the most). Food was yummy with different tastes to one another. Room service and the all the other things were 10/10 , except for the bar service. We didn't receive the welcom drink which we can ignore. But the checking was so late. It says 2pm but we received the completed room around 4pm. Yet it can be happen due to this long weekend crowd. All together it was a super experience which I was waiting for more than two years. Sure I would return to this place to get some more relaxation.

Our experience wasn’t satisfactory at all. Me and my wife visited this property 5 years ago kn 2017 and everything was so nice from the rooms to the food and the staff. Not so great after 5 years. The major issue was that staff being unattentive. We waited in the lobby for some time before checkin but no one communicated to us that our room was not ready. Whenever we requested something it took a long for them to arrive at our room. We were told that the place is understaffed but as paying customers I guess it is unacceptable. Food wasn’t good compared to 5 years ago it was so good and had so much variety. Room looked so old including the furniture. The hotel needs a major renovation in-terms of property and staff who mostly looked lazy and uninterested.

Beautiful surrounding and beach. Staff is helpful and food is tasty. Rooms are spacious and Tubs with other amenities are clean . But make sure they are offering buffet before you checked in. Otherwise you have to enjoy Set menus which will not expected by you. Set menus are not bad at all. ( **some photos attached) Babies will be given a Cot with a thin foam layer. But it is not bad. But unfortunately Mosquitoes will hunt you and also your baby at night ( baby cot is not with a net and room is full of mosquitoes at night)( ** see photos of mosquito bites on babies head)

Visited last weekend after back to back stays with some other 4/5 star hotels. We had the worst experience of restaurant and service. Location is good with lagoon and beach and sea view and room is bigger than others. Other than nothing to recommend and not worth. They have to improve much in the quality and taste of the restaurant foods and service. Restaurant staff is not friendly and inexperience and service is very poor.

Had a day outing with the team. Food was good and the staff was friendly. The environment is also nice and calm with a beautiful lawn Have 2 pools and used one. There is no deep end. My guess is 4-4.5 ft in depth.

This was my second visit to Anantaya Chilaw. We stayed on 2022.12.17. Nice and calm vibe. Food is good with almost all the meat varieties. Good spread. Dinner was the pick of the meal. Nice rooms. Clean pool. spacious garden area. breach is clean. Hospitality of the staff was excellent as always. Will be visiting again for sure. only drawback is wooden floor in the room is making noises when we walk. Its not a issue to be bothered about anyways..

This hotel is highly regarded in the area due to its exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms, along with its friendly staff. However, when my friends and I visited during a busy period, we were disappointed by the limited variety of food options in the buffet. We expected a more extensive menu considering the price we paid. Despite this, the overall experience at the hotel was positive.

I recently stayed at Anantaya Resort & Spa with my family, including our six-month-old twins, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Our room was plagued by a significant mosquito infestation, and despite our efforts, one of our infants suffered more than five mosquito bites on their face. This was extremely distressing for us as parents. If you are planning to visit this hotel, I strongly advise you to inquire about cot nets or consider bringing your own. Alternatively, exploring newer places with higher standards might be a wiser choice. My hope is that the management will take this feedback seriously and implement corrective steps to prevent such occurrences in the future. Overall, a regrettable experience that falls far short of the standards expected from a reputable resort.

I was there on Sep-2022. The place is good, but they haven't maintained it properly. Broken chairs, dusty photos, cockroaches and pool bed and walls was too slippery. Not recommended for 2 nights, as the food is getting repeated on the following day. If you are renting a car with driver, you will have to think twice of the driver's food. it's completely not appropriate. Even their own hotel staff is worried on that because same food was given to the general staff. Don't think they are ready to improve.

This hotel is truly exquisite, offering wonderfully spacious and comfortable rooms. However, there is considerable room for improvement when it comes to the culinary experience. The limited food selection leaves much to be desired. Additionally, it's worth noting that the pool area lacks sufficient lighting past 6 pm.

I would give 5/10 for our recent stay at Anantaya with kids.Located in a beautiful and isolated area, this is best suited for a relaxing getaway. Rooms were spacious and but have not maintained well. Staff is helpful but looked like they are short staffed. Check in got delayed as our room was not ready. And bath towels were not provided in the room.Dining area is as hot as an oven and there is quite a walk to the buffet. Food was mediocre.Very limited varieties and even that was not really tasty. Only one masseuse available at Spa so it is always booked. Make a spa reservation before hand. Our friends said spa treatments were good. Direct beach access from hotel yet not advised to swim in the sea as it is rough deep. Over all experience was ok but we wouldn't wanna return.

I had visited anantaya chilaw around 10 years ago and was really impressed with the hotel and food and the standard! the rooms were excellent super cozy! and i decided to go back this year for new years and i had the worst experience ever! the staff is so lost and the service is very disappointing. The maintenance of the hotel is really bad. The lobby washroom was not cleaned. Nothing maintained. It just had stains all over even the room. It was a very beautiful room, but not maintained at all! very poor service the food standard was very low no much varieties. The taste was bland half the time. Really disappointing with the service ! it’s a very beautiful hotel with the worst maintenance!

Hotel itself is picturisque and has large enough areas with grass for kids to play,a butterfly garden, and a TT table.I love the rooms which was spacious, had a massive bath tub and it was kid friendly. Deluxe rooms face pool n sea with easy access. While Villas face river/lagoon. We had only 2 towels, and didn't get another even on request (short staffed maybe), staff was generally friendly, helpful but nothing outstanding or remarkable. They have 2 pools and kids can enjoy it as well although there's no baby pool. Beach:was not very clean, but maintained well by hotel,felt like a private beach with no outsiders. Food: was delicious, although I wish there was more seafood! Variety was less but everything tasted great.

This hotel is situated in a kind of rural area few kilometers away from Chilaw city. It has a large space inside. Beautiful scenery with the beach. Well maintained hotel. Staff is professional and helpful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Meals are delicious. Even though it’s a 4 star hotel you will get more class experience than that. It’s an expensive hotel but can say it worths the money.

We were fortunate to have Jana assigned as guide for one day tour and what a wonderful day we had! Not only that he is a fountain of information but he was also very attentive to our wishes and needs. The rooms are very spacious. There were however so many Mosquitos in the rooms and nothing seemed to have changed even on the second night after sharing this with the hotel staff. The entey road to reach the hotel was full of potholes and the sign was not lit up well to be noticeable.

Best resort for relaxation. Beautiful swimming pools (Yes, pools since it has 2 large pools). Great beach front view, nice garden area, fantastic lagoon view and the amenities in the room are world class. The attention to detail in preparing a room, jacuzzi, spa, beach view and the overall experience of getting pampered are spectacular. What can be better - response time of housekeeping staff, waiting time at restaurant and also vegetarian dish variety can be increased.

This hotel was visited for the second time in December 2023. Everything was fine the first time I visited in 2020. But this time I only had a bad experience. The bags were taken by reception at the time of check-in, however they were delivered to the room after one and a half hours. The rooms were fine, but there were a lot of mosquitos all night. Mosquitoes made it impossible to sleep. There was no variation on the meal choices. We ordered two water bottles in the morning, however they didn't arrive for another 5 hours. The staff spent several hours lending a pool towel. The pool was also filthy. Small water inscects were drifting around. We returned to this hotel for the second time after having a positive experience the first time. But this time, all we received this time was disappointment. Customer service is non-existent. So it felt like a total waste of money given how much we paid for this hotel.  This hotel is not recommended on this quality of service and not worth what we pay.

I visited in 2019 and enjoyed my stay. The atmosphere was good and calming and the food was great. Loved the jacuzzi. My only problem was that about 30 minutes to check out we needed a water bottle since my kid was thirsty. I called room service to get one, but then they informed me that the bill was prepared and they can't issue a bottle. Well, on my way home I bought a water bottle from a shop, but I thought it was rude to deny a customer something simple like a bottle of water just because the bill was prepared. It was a matter of preparing another bill for the bottle of water.

A great hotel with spacious rooms, scenic environment and a vibrant beauty. The food was simply great. Good variety. Good taste. Good quality. The staff were supper punctual and energetic. No regrets. Very good. Worth visiting.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The hotel furniture appeared heavily used, and the linens provided seemed worn out and not fresh. I was disappointed to find the buffet offerings quite limited. On a positive note, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, which made my interactions more pleasant. However, the overall condition of the hotel and the limited amenities left me with a less-than-satisfactory impression. My stay fell short of the comfortable and enjoyable experience I had hoped for.

I walked in with 2 of my friends for lunch and I should say that we made a wrong choice by going there. The washrooms in the reception area was not cleaned properly. There were only 2 and 1 was out of order. There wasn’t even a dustbin kept. The washroom was a very unpleasant experience. Then at the restaurant, we had to ask thrice for water. They gave us very poor attention while there were 3 staff serving a foreign couple. The food was stale. No taste at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone at all. Had a very bad experience.

We booked 2 triple rooms at the resort and the rooms were amazing. Very spacious with a lounge and sea view. Bathrooms were very spacious including a large bathtub as well. Food wise, the buffet selections were quite small for a hotel of this calibre and taste wise can give a 3/5. Overall good location for a chilled weekend.

Be prepared to starve if you're a vegetarian, there are no vegetarian options in the buffet. I visited this place twice and it was the same situation both times. Baked potatoes and some sad looking bland boiled vegetables is all you'll have to eat. That's unless you want to go for the Sri Lankan menu, which is sub par at it's best, and unappealing and unappetizing to even consider. Other than this glaring issue the place is nice enough, the pool is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and we'll equipped but it's hard to enjoy your stay when you have to starve.

My stay at this hotel was far from satisfactory. The limited food variety was disappointing, and when I addressed it with the chef, his rude response added to the unpleasant experience. The sandy and poorly maintained rooms, lacking basic necessities, further diminished the quality of my stay. Adding to the negative experience, the staff at this hotel were not only rude but also displayed unacceptable racist behavior, making the stay incredibly uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Went there last December and stayed in a Delux category room. Pros : Large room with a good Jacuzzi. Nice swimming pool. Food was ok but not many options though. Staff service is very good. Cons : So many mosquitoes in the room at night. Even the vaporizer can’t handle that. Bathroom and the room is quite visible to outside as they are using some mats to cover window glasses. Beach is accessible but u can’t bath there.

Really good environment and friendly staff. They have two large swimming pools. Their breakfast buffet is really good. Dinner buffet is somewhat average. Spacious clean rooms with good wifi.

Was here for two days amidst my wedding prep and it was amazing. The food was buffet style and good quality. The view from my room was fantastic as it looked out onto the endless sea. The rooms themselves were off a different caliber than most. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Not to mention the ginormous bathtub. It really was one of my favourite places to stay.

I booked the hotel for a deluxe double room and a triple room. The lower rating is for the service I received at hotel. I was travelling with a a 2 yo and I needed a mini fridge to keep her items. Both the rooms did not have mini fridges. When I inquired from the receptionist shouldn't it be available for every room she mentioned yes, but it is only given on availability basis - which made no sense. Anyway the mini fridges weren't available and I asked her whether they can keep it at the restaurant so I can get it later. Response I received was I personally have to go to the restaurant and get it sorted out. I asked why should I be going there when the issue is from their end to begin with. She hung up saying she will get back. Even after an hour there was no response hence I had to go to the restaurant and get it sorted. Restaurant manager agreed to provide a mini fridge in the evening. Apart from that rooms were not that clean and need a refurbishment. Other than that the restroom near the restaurant had a cockroach flying around. Service of the restaurant wasn't that great either. As for the positives, rooms were very spacious and pool was superb. Food had a good variety of items and it was OK.

The hotel staff is so warm and welcoming. We had a slight issue on our first night they immediately upgraded us to their best room and made sure they made up for it. Special shout out to the all in one Darshan who never failed to come to our rescue for any help we needed. Food is very good you don’t need to explore other places around. Quantity is good and it’s a total value for you money. The two pools are clean and have an ocean view. The beach is right at the property and is not crowded and super super clean. If you want to get away from the noise of the city and just relax and rejuvenate you must stay here and book the water Villa or the suite.

View is nice. Had a awesome Xmas dinner. Breakfast is ok not like five star hotel. lots of variety available both in dinner and breakfast. We had a half board basis. Only issue i notice is in maintenance where room has some issues. Blind are broken. Paint is chipped. Not clean the common area of the rooms. I think due to covid and Easter Sunday issue they has lost lots of revenue. Hopping it will improve in the future.

The whole experience was good. The rooms are bit old. Food is very good. Staff was very helpful. The sea shore line was bit dirty. The swimming pool was good. Had a great time.

We spent two nights at Anantaya. Rooms are well spacious, clean and nice. It has a sea view and a balcony. Jacuzzi is also there with changing lights and can control the temperature too. Foods are tasty but the same items are repeating always. We had the same breakfast for the 2 days. No difference. So it will be good to add few varieties. Customer service is also good.

Enormous Hotel with 2 large scale swimming pools. Well maintained. The food is excellent. We really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

Located in the north west coastal area in Sri Lanka. Accessible through a good carpeted roads. It's a beautiful hotel to spend your holiday in luxurious and spacious rooms. Friendly customer service. Large infinity swimming pools to relax in with many people. Pool side bar is available. A spa with a professional therapist is available for any body wants a full body massage. Golden sandy beach front is so inviting that makes one to have a morning walk. They serve great taste of food to enjoy your day.

Stayed there a while back. It's a picturesque hotel with a beautiful surrounding. There were 2 large pools and the plenty of space where you can walk and spend time leisurely, including the beach. Rooms were clean and spacious and the buffet was above par, overall we enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed in this hotel at the start of this year and it was good 👍. The food was delicious. The view was so beautiful and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. However we booked this hotel from overseas and their communication wasn’t great but we worked it out in the end. I however definitely recommend 😊

I recently stayed here.I was upgraded to a premium room with a jacuzzi from Deluxe, but when I arrived the room, I found that the jacuzzi was not working. I asked the staff about it, and they said that it was out of order and that’s why we have given that room🤷‍♂️, which was very disappointing. The room itself was spacious and clean, but the sun shades were not thick enough to block out the light, so I had trouble sleeping after 6am. The hotel could improve the quality of the sun shades or add thicker curtains to the rooms. The hotel is in need of some renovation. The rooms are dated and could use a fresh coat of paint, in case if you get the room in 5th block you may need to walk long distance for restaurant , reception and parking The hotel has two large pools, which are very attractive. The private beach access is also a nice perk. The food in the hotel restaurant was average, but the service was good. If you are planning to stay at this hotel, I would recommend booking a room with full board, as it can be difficult to find food from outside of the hotel. Overall, I had a mixed experience here , The rooms were spacious and clean, but the jacuzzi was not working and the hotel could use some renovation. The pools and private beach access were nice, and the food was average. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel with all the amenities, this may not be the right place for you. However, if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay with a good location, this may be a good option.

Selected this hotel for a family vacation. It spreads across a large area of land next to the beach. Weekend was busy with many travellers and had to face a significant delay to receive the baggage to our rooms. Rooms are large and spacious. Safety lockers weren't available. Bathrooms were also spacious and the bath tubs in deluxe rooms were also large. They are charging for extra water bottles and extra tea/coffee/ sugar (mentioned it is because of the off season?) The beach is good, but the sea was rough and notices were displayed warning deep waters. Buffet was satisfactory. Overall it was a relaxing experience.

This is based on my stay at last weekend on half board basis. Adequate parking is available. Checking was smooth and less time consuming. Thay have upgraded us to the next available category for free. Staff is friendly and attentive. Beach is easily accessible. Have two large pools.

Nice view with beach side spacious rooms and very good vibes, Bathroom water was not warm enough at night but the next morning it was at a good temperature. The room telephone was not working and nobody came to fix it till checkout. The hairdryer was not working and asked for a replacement but didn't get a replacement until checkout. The pool is not clean enough, noticed bird feathers, algae like stuff. The buffet is good but can do better with the taste. The staff is friendly but the service can be improved.

we checked into the room at about 2pm. rooms were very hot.they set AC for 28C. when we complained to the reception , they said all rooms were fixed for 28c. first time we experienced this problem. very big nice rooms and clean too. we got onlybath towels no hand towels. we booked 3 rooms .for triple rooms they provided everything for 2 people and got only hand towels no bath towels. and they have to use our bedroom phone . good news is restaurant staff is very good and very friendly. hats off to them. food is fine . plenty of choices but overall not happy with your service
