The nastiest hotel in Vegas. I stayed here because a friend recommended. I wonder if the last time he went was in the 80’s. Old decorations, and worn, dilapidated furniture. Our bed sunk in the middle so it was shaped like a banana. There were two standard sized pillows on a King size bed. It looked like it was missing a comforter since the bed was all white. Stained carpets and stains on the seat at the end of the bed. Don’t even want to know what was on it. Dirty grout in bathrooms and we had no soap whatsoever. Had to call maid service. The room was very large. If they could just modernize and update the rooms it would be a decent hotel. The Valet people were excellent. The staff were friendly. Too bad they didn’t have a product they could stand behind. Going to the other Hotels and casinos we felt robbed. They were all so nice and lavish and just beautiful. Going back to the Rio at the end of the day was near depressing. Had to call security at night because of drunk fighting couples next to us screaming at the top of their lungs. Overall dated, extremely basic, old and dingy, with ZERO amenities to make you feel like you got a nice room. If I could sum it up in a sentence? A real sh@! Hole.

I wish they still imploded properties in Las Vegas. I'd love to see this one go down in person. At check in I asked for a quiet room on a high floor so I might work a few hours during the day and have fun in the evening. I was given a very outdated, noisy room on a middle tower floor. The couch the looked like something a couple of college students would pick up on the side of the road. The bed and pillows were very worn out. The work area was cramped and lacked power outlets. The giant coffee table was strangely out of place. The TV cabinet was beat up pushed up against tired wallpaper that seemed to have shadows of previous hanging artwork long gone. The bed propped up against the adjoining suite wall is perfect to hear the noisy neighbors and all the neighbors doors slamming at all hours of the day and night. The plumbing in the bathroom are would randomly start giving off a loud high pitched sound randomly and especially at night. I had to close the door to muffle the sound. When I requested the room be freshen up on day three of my visit I was told in the morning it would not be a problem then when followed up later in the afternoon was told I had opted out of daily cleanings. I said. yes that's why I had requested it. I asked to opt back into daily cleaning but that request was ignored. I asked Ivy if there were room upgrades available and received an advertisement for an upcoming concert. I went to the VIP lounge and informed the gentleman who assisted me I would need to leave early so he could release the room to be resold. He said no problem just let us know the day of departure and we will remove the days you don't stay. When checking out the woman who assisted me insisted on charging me an early departure fee. I had to call customer service from my car to argue my point again to get a refund on the fee. The parking garage is very sketchy with little to no security most of the time. Walking in from the parking garage the casino on that side is a ghost town with very few players and the weird arcade. A definite lack of dining options especially on weekdays. Masks are mandatory for everyone but it was not followed by half the guests in the casino and even less so on the elevators and hotel hallways. I wasn't offered an upgrade upon check in and probably would have taken it. The only positive quality of the corner room was the view of the strip and the mountains. It would have been better on a higher floor where my eye would not have been drawn the the back of the house industrial area and the Gold Coast garage. I will not be visiting the Rio or recommending the RIO to anyone I like anytime soon and maybe not to those I don't like it was that bad of an experience. I very happy this soon will no longer be a Caesar's Property.

It's an amazing deal for the price. Rooms are spacious, but I didn't spend much time in the room anyway, it's Vegas after all. The casino is nice as well. The walk to the strip was a little sketchy at times, but the parking at the Rio was free so if you rent a car it's some extra money saved!

We came here because we had such a good experience when we came a few years back. At that time we were taken care of by a wonderful hospitable employee and the room was incredible. This time we asked to upgrade the room so we had more space for our small children as we had a long drive and they needed room to expel energy. We were charged for the upgrade at full price of the room. - meaning we basically paid for an upgraded room and a basic king. We were asked if we wanted a remodeled room or not for an additional fee. We opted for an upgraded room. When we got to the room we were disappointed to find it was not cleaned and unidentified liquids all over the tables and walls. The bathrooms smelled as though they had been backed up for a week. We tried to give our kids a bath and the water wouldn’t heat up. We called and were told the engineer would come up and take a look at it -this was around midnight. After waiting for a short time we decided it might be best to avoid staying up all night and request a new room. When we called again we were told we weren’t being patient enough and that we needed to wait longer. When we asked for the new room they said they would not change the room unless the engineer deemed ours unworkable. We turned on the water again and waited until the engineer arrived about 45 minutes after the first call. Within 5 minutes of his arrival the water finally began to heat up and we were told to stay in our room. Expect to wait 45 minutes for your water to heat before being able to take a shower. We were disappointed in the service provided and the standard of guest treatment they have from their employees. -I will admit after the second call I was not at my best due to our long drive, how late it was, upset children and the status of our room. As a guest I had expected a clean room, a room that didn’t smell like a sewer and functional hot water within a reasonable amount of time. (45 minutes did not seem reasonable to me) we were disappointed to have paid an additional room price, and get the room we got with the service provided. Wish we could be refunded but that’s as big a dream as wishing we never stayed here. On the positive side we were not directly on the strip.

Overall I really enjoyed my stay at Rio. The hotel is older, but it is pretty well maintained. They are doing renovations to the rooms and casino area, but it wasn't an issue as far as noise or anything like that. The rooms are quite large, very spacious and comfortable. The linens were clean and the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of food options at the hotel and some cute little shops. The hotel is located off the strip, so it wasn't as busy as some of the hotels on the strip (which I didn't mind). Parking is free and there was a police officer/security guard patrolling the parking lot and garage. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend to others.

Absolutely terrible experience. It was a huge mistake to stay here on our honeymoon. I emailed the Rio (using the Caesar's email form) more than a week in advance because we would be getting in around 9pm and I wanted to be sure our king sized bed suite was not given away, and also needed to request extra pillows for spinal support. The hotel never emailed me back, which was frustrating - every other hotel we visited during our honeymoon had prompt and thorough communication. Every. Single. One. Except the Rio. After driving five hours to get to the Rio the night of check-in, we went to the Kiosk to expedite the process. It immediately found our reservation but returned a message saying "room not ready" -- at nearly nine o'clock at night! We were so exhausted from travel that I was ready to cry. We stood in line for an hour to get to the service desk for check-in and see why our room wasn't ready, and once we got to the front we were told that our king room had been given away and that a nearly $50 resort fee needed to be paid. Now, you might think that there would be pools to used, etc.? Nope! All of the resort features (pools, nightclubs, etc.) were closed, and since we were leaving at 5am they would not be available to us at all, but we still had to pay the fee. Okay, fine. It's not the desk worker's fault, so we were super friendly to them and just wanted to get up to our room. And of course, they gave away our king bed room, and left us with two queen beds instead. I was pretty bummed, since I had emailed prior to the trip to confirm and was ignored. But I just wanted to get upstairs and put my luggage down. When we got upstairs to the room, I was horrified. Mold growing in the caulking of the shower. Weird scratches and gouges on the walls. Nearly no pillows, and no extra blankets in the closets. A strange and gross smell, plus AC that barely turned on. A broken lamp with the bulb/socket just dangling out from under the shade. The windows were horribly dirty, and there was old toothpaste caked behind the sink. I took several photos and then fell into bed, exhausted. The ONLY positive thing about this place was the mobile checkout and key drop, since we needed to leave for the airport so early in the morning. Not a great experience at all. Please, please stay anywhere else - the Excalibur was less than this cost, and was a much better experience - stay there instead of the horrible Rio!

Horrendous! Glass doors in the back were completely filthy with hand/finger prints. One couldn’t breathe with the dense clouds from all the cigarettes! Even the restaurants were filled with clouds of smoke. The line to check in was ridiculously long. I was completely flabbergasted upon walking into our room. It was old, dingy, carpet was dirty, bathroom had 1/2 inch of dust on top of the moldings, wood furniture was dented. THERE WAS A FOOT PRINT ON THE CEILING! There was a small window over the bathtub…for peeping Toms?? You could view from the bedroom area. We had to change our room literally three times, and even the third room was awful. We were tired at this point from all the back and forth…of course, we had to wait on the long lines each time. The pool area was cute, but we had a feeling that the local people living on the outskirts were also using the pool, as one didn’t need a room key card to enter. They dominated the pools and didn’t look kept and clean. This hotel needs to a major renovation. Just dingy, dirty, and weird. There was one fun part, the zip line! But, beware when purchasing a ticket- remember this IS Vegas, and each person quoted us different pricing. It became a game and I would put them in competition with each other, “Well, so and so quoted me $xx.00…” That person’s reply was, “ Well, if so and so quoted you that price, then I’ll honor it.” Parking for free. Rio is not on the strip, but has an amazing view OF the strip. Attempting to walk there is nearly impossible - could be a bit dangerous. We would drive to Treasure Island to park- it, too, has free parking. Just be patient in finding a spot. That’s Vegas for you.

This hotel has so much potential. The rooms are nice, spacious, and have really amazing views. However the quality feels lacking compared to some of the other hotels. No mini fridge, no coffee pot, and the room had some plumbing issues. The grounds were awesome. So much to do in the hotel. The casino was great. Friendly staff, fun environment, and clean. I wish it was a little more updated.

Just stayed here for 4 nights. We really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it just didn’t meet expectations. The bed was comfortable, The pillows were terrible and they gave us 3 for some odd reason. The place was clean but it wasn’t great. The towels were absolutely awful, Just really rough. They didn’t give us any hand soap. There was no coffee machine or microwave, I’m not sure if that’s just common in Vegas hotels or there just trying to get you to go to spend money on the Starbucks in the casino or the restaurants but it was just annoying. The worst part about our stay was the fact the water completely shut off, It was 4am and we had no hot or cold water, The toilet couldn’t flush. Then the next day at 7pm the hot water shut off again. I would of been understanding if they told us that something was being worked on but we had no idea what was going on. The best part about the hotel was the city view, It was great to see the whole city from a huge window. Minus the homeless camp right below the hotel. But I understand that’s probably not in their control.

I am currently staying at this hotel and wanted to share my experience. The room itself was quite spacious, which was a pleasant surprise. However, for two consecutive nights, both my child and I woke up in a puddle of sweat due to the uncomfortable room temperature. It's hot enough in Vegas the room should be comfortable. Concerned about this issue, I contacted room service yesterday, hoping for a quick resolution. Unfortunately, there was no effort to rectify the situation or any offer of compensation for the inconvenience we faced. As a result, we have been utterly miserable during our stay. I am supposed to wake up at 8 am, but I find myself writing this review at 3:34 am because I have once again woken up in discomfort. I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed with the lack of response from the hotel staff regarding this matter. A good night's sleep is crucial, and the inability to provide a comfortable environment has left me feeling angry and dissatisfied with our stay. This hotel ruined my vacation, which was my child's 1st time in Vegas!!!

Front desk and housekeeping were courteous upon approach. Room was basic and could have been cleaned better. First entry into room, empty water bottle found behind night stand with a few pieces of red candy. Carpet stained with it too. Thankfully we bring our own spray and wipes because I was not confident of cleaning efforts anywhere else even though it LOOKED clean. Nice hotel. Starbucks needs it's own store. Good atmosphere all around.

Guys if you’re planning a trip to Vegas do not go to this hotel my mother and aunt who are seniors wanted to go for an awesome vacation they were told there is a shuttle to the strip and a shuttle to the airport there is not. The services at this hotel are appalling my mother was there for 10 days and her room was cleaned I believe once or twice even though she requested several times for towels/face-clothes. I believe she requested face cloths five days in a row her garbage was not changed in six days it was absolutely awful there is no service there and she asked to speak to a manager 4 times nobody called her nobody cared. Spend the extra few dollars go to a hotel on the strip. There is no point in paying a resort fee daily when you are not getting the service and promises are lies. Vacations are supposed to be relaxing rewarding they did make lots of great memories but not one in that hotel they were treated awful…. this is how people treat seniors at this resort forget them being seniors you shouldn’t be treating anybody like this I even called because they were so upset and I didn’t want to see them upset on their vacation and they refused to connect me to a manager. I’m telling you don’t look at the cheap price spend the extra few bucks and stay on the strip because there is no shuttle. If I could give this resort is zero I would. When she purchased this vacation she was even promised a Mountain View sunsets are spectacular and her room had a beautiful view of the roof below from another building …..when my mother checked out today they didn’t credit her anything like I said nobody cares I don’t know what’s going on at that hotel but they need a little 411 on customer service and compassion for people ****** you’ll notice that the owner only says comments to the reviews that give 4-5 stars , to the reviews that have a complaint which is a lot of them there’s no response or accountability******

The view was great…but everything else wasn’t what you’d picture. The room we had was dated and the furniture was pretty weathered. There was no soap, shampoo, or coffee maker. The hotel advertises that there is a rooftop bar/club, both on Google and on signage throughout the establishment. We came back from the strip expecting to enjoy some nightlife without the drive and much to our surprise…it had been closed for 2 years. Glad the rooms were free, if you’re considering the place…you may not want to pay much more than that.

Excellent service from the moment we arrived. Room was spacious, clean and well maintained. The only negative about the rooms was just two pillows per bed. Plenty of parking spaces and easy to get in and out unlike a lot of hotels on the strip and easy access to the I-15 and the airport is about a 10 minute drive depending on which terminal you need. Plenty of options to eat but be forewarned, they are all pricey as is a drink at the bar.

I was disappointed this time staying in Rio. The first time was great, so I wanted to repeat the experience. But it looks like the hotel gave up on maintenance and the quality of rooms after the pandemic. The sofa in the room was dirty. You can clearly see the dark spots everywhere. The tub in the bathroom was clogged. You have to climb the walls to take a shower without having to submerge your feet in the dirty water (picture). The staff was friendly but not efficient, I requested room service and went out all day to come back to the room, not cleaned or organized. And when my husband asked them, they said you're right, we have the request for room service for your room, but I don't know what happened, no one showed up. Add to that the noise all night, people get back to their rooms very late, and they are super loud in the hallways and their rooms. The cigarettes and joints smell got inside my room, and I have a child. She was coughing until we got the fan going, and we didn't know from where it was coming (FYI : I picked the non-smoking area). The only good thing about the hotel is its location close to the strip. Other than that, you just waste your money.

Just right off the strip (about a half mile), this hotel has huge rooms. You can fit at least two queen size air mattresses in the room with the bed. You have a couch in the room. Good size bathroom. Larger casino and property. The staff is really helpful and welcoming(even after hours). You can get food after hours. Cab fare was under ten dollars from the strip(one there's no traffic). Thank you for your hospitality.

This hotel, prior to the hitting of Covid was a great place to be at, especially when the float parade took place above the casino. The parade was stopped and according to one employer, the parade may never return due to new ownership of the Rio by the Caesar's group. The hotel rooms were nice, though the mini-bars have disappeared, and the furniture seemed rather dated. The price of the rooms was fantastic though it is hard to swallow the nearly $40 per night resort fees. With the right mindset this place can be really hopping again, and a great destination. The show WOW was exactly that: WOW!! Great show that you could take your young kids, perhaps as young as 5 to it. The price of drinks in the show will leave your wallet much lighter though sadly. All in all, I hope Caesar's will continue to make this a great place again! It was worth the money to stay there!

I've been to Vegas before this is my first time at the Rio. In the past I stayed at the Luxor and Trump hotel. To put it bluntly, I wouldn't return but I didn't have a horrible experience. A few negatives-- check-in took around 30-40 minutes because they only had three people working the desk. On my last day there was construction starting at 6:15 in the morning and it was loud as hell. The crowd here is a little iffy. There was one dude shooting a music video when I first stepped into the elevator, there was a disturbance in the lobby, and at one point they put up security at the elevators. There was a slightly sketchy vibe the whole weekend. Lastly it was a bit irritating getting 9 email messages from the hotel regarding promos and basic information over the 2 nights I was here. Oh, and it seemed like everyone had issues with their room key. They don't work well. Overall an affordable casino that's a bit long in the tooth. A good option for those on a budget looking to party. If you're looking for polished Vegas experience, maybe a nice pool, nicer restaurants, valet and trendy (younger) crowd, you should definitely look elsewhere.

I stayed at the Rio, the rooms are beautiful, but that is where it ends. Checking in was a long, drawn-out wait. More than half of the kiosks were not used, making the wait longer than needed. The manager behind the desk was rude, did not want to help anyone, and backed it up with a shrug of the shoulder and a smirk. Here is what I experienced at the Rio Hotel 1. Poor management and attitude. 2. The room is beautiful, but I found carpenter nails loose on the floor. I brought this up to a different manager, who didn’t care. More than half of the shops are closed. 3. No buffet, after I was told they had one, The Carnival restaurant closed. 4. Costly food and snacks. 5. Room construction at 6:00 a.m., yes, they were using a handheld jackhammer to tear up the tile on the floor. I asked why 6:00 a.m., and they said they were not responsible for when the crew started. 6. Walls are thin, so be ready to hear your neighbor. I can handle the neighbors and expensive food because it is a casino. Still, the poor attitude and lack of customer service are unacceptable, considering the cost they charge for the rooms.

Nice place to stay, but there's no coffee pot for the mornings, and no hairdryer for after you're in the pool or done showering. The room wasn't as cool as the temperature set point was on the A/C thermostat. The room layout was actually pretty good. Loved the couch, the sink in the bathroom, and the safe in the closet. Bed was clean and housekeeping was easy to get hold of.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Rio All-Suite at Las Vegas Resort for a vacation with my friends. We were excited to experience a relaxing getaway, and this hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and elegantly decorated. The comfortable beds ensured a restful night's sleep, and the panoramic windows provide stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The amenities, including the flat-screen TV, minibar, and coffee maker, added convenience to our stay. The resort boasted a wide range of excellent facilities. The pool area was pristine and offered ample loungers for relaxation. We enjoyed spending time at the well-equipped fitness center and indulging in rejuvenating treatments at the spa. Additionally, the on-site restaurant provided a delectable dining experience with a diverse menu and attentive staff.

We arrived to hotel right at check in time and it was a mad house. There was a super long line to get to the desk so my husband used the kiosk. It said they found our reservation that we booked 2 months ago mind you and we'd get an email when our room was ready. After close to 2 hrs we decided to wait in the long line to hopefully speak to front desk. Meanwhile my husband kept checking the kiosk. After we finally got our room keys from the kiosk we walked into a room that was not the reserved deluxe suite king bed MT. View room we picked. It was a double bed overlooking the roof /pool area. Room was like staying at a motel 6 nothing spectacular. We picked this hotel because of the roof top nightclub and pool and all the amenities seemed great . NOPE !! One part of the 3 pools was open , the hot tub was cold tub w/ bubbles and NO nightclub. It's outrageous that they charged us $45 a day at checkout for resort fees like what resort perks did we get !! We had 2 restaurants to choose from at the hotel none others were open. We basically had a bed to sleep and a place to gamble on some machines. The best thing about staying there was we loved the show WOW and the comedy show was funny. I get going through renovations but false advertising a hotels amenities is just plain wrong. I don't find myself ever wanting to pick this place in the future visits to Vegas

Christmas eve to the 26. Needs updating. Our room was spacious for the price. We chose the mountain view instead of the strip. Beds were comfy and seemed new. It was clean but not squeaky clean: there were dried noodles on the floor under the table and brown splatter of something outside the bathroom door (with picture). Lampshades were tilting on the side. Bathroom has 2 sinks with spacious counter top. Bathtub was huge. Their bar soaps were environment friendly. There was a refrigerator contrary to what front desk said. It was hidden under the TV armoire. There was no microwave or coffee maker. Although our room was near the elevator (handicap), the walk to the parking lot was kinda far-even if it was the handicap parking. Yes I recommend this hotel for the price, ambiance, service (live & phone), and location. We did not try the restaurants at all.

The price is right. We stayed on the eighth floor. The ice maker did not work. Remember this hotel is old and certainly could use an upgrade. The air conditioner worked flawlessly and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room was surprisingly quite. The staff were very helpful and polite. The coffee / pastry restaurant was clean and the staff beyond helpful as well as welcoming. We, four guys in their 70's, had coffee here each morning before heading out, enjoying the joyous lady coffee maker. The monorail is close by which was welcoming. The Hooter's restaurant had a great breakfast menu and the staff were quick to please and as helpful as could be. The casino area had some great machines which we played both coming and going. Remember the price is absolutely the draw here.

Hardly anything was open on the inside. Half the pools were closed. The room was dirty and disgusting. Looked like snot on the ceiling and old poop stains on the bathroom wall. Corners of room looked like they've never been cleaned. And room service never came once. Said our room was an upgraded room if we paid an extra $15 a night, and our room was definitely not an upgrade. Dead and not lively more depressing than anything.

This was a great hotel. Decor was cute, a classic hotel style. The service at all places was great. Restaurants, casinos, shops, all of them were nice and always polite people. A little bit of everything at this hotel. The outdoor pools were amazing. Bring lots of money due to higher costs of food and drinks here, but Vegas is generally higher all over. Beyond the higher prices I would stay here again.

Old hotel, needs urgently a deep renovation. It used to be the coolest place in Vegas, now it's just a ghost of the past. The rooms are spacious but dirty and in urgent need of remodeling. Don't call the room service, you won't get any (we had to make our own bed). Not to mention the smell of marijuana in the room. Never ever again.

Well... The room, size, view was great. HOWEVER, the bathroom was dirty; checked into a dirty room with used soap still on the side of the shower!!! Had to wait till the morning to get room cleaned (I checked in at night). They did clean the room & were sweet to ensure I was happy. The bath towels looked clean BUT had hait all over it (not my hair, different color & texture etc) as you walk into the rooms the ceilings looked old & dirty. When they renovate this place it should be quite nice. The restaurants plenty to choose from & were decently priced & tasty. The added security throughout the hotel made it more appealing to me. Very nice staff.

What can I say. The Rio has impressed me this time. They took a bar that was set really low and managed to lower that bar lower. So at least they give you choices. Masquerade section comes with 5 minutes of hot water, old carpeting, a window view from inside and outside of the bathroom, 1997 model phone, holes around the tub that have rotted out, plus people painting the exterior and driving in 3 inch screws at 10 at night. Or you can choose the freshly remodeled beautiful rooms in the other tower with a jackhammer going off at 6am with no water at all in the morning. Mind you some wait times to check in are over an hour. We have 10 rooms here and not one is even close to being acceptable. I only visit for work. I would never spend my money for this experience. One good note. Housekeeping does the best with what they have to work with. Cooperate America you just lost another customer. Good luck on the greed factor.

My husband and I love the Rio! They have very nice suites and rooms to stay at but what we really love to do is to shop at the little boutiques there! We're Las Vegas locals and we love the unique items that the shops have there at the Rio because the prices are very reasonable. I'm a crystal lover and a shimmy glittery diamond girl so the shops are where it's at for me because they carry Novelty and unique things. All of the boutique owners are really friendly and not pushy. I always enjoy my shopping experience.

Vegas was wonderful. The Rio was awful. The hotel is old and outdated. There isn’t even coffee. The carpet, couches, and curtains are visibly filthy. The bathrooms have mildew on the walls and ceilings. Lastly, I book and paid for a king suite almost two months in advance. Only to get there and my room wasn’t ready (2hours past check in), on top of that, they gave me two double beds instead of the king they sold me. I didn’t pay to come to Vegas to sleep in separate beds with my husband.

Best to avoid this place like a truckstop restroom after a chili eating contest. Took over two hours to check in, and had to return to the front desk several times because the room keys did not work. The parking lot is also a bit shady, and when I called to ask if it was safe security said I was parking at my own risk. There’s also questionable stains all over the rooms. Motel 6 might be a better call if you’re trying to safe money. I asked front desk to switch to a different room and the gal working said “you wish”. I definitely wish I didn’t book here. That’s for sure. — just downgraded this to a one star. Had issues getting into my room the second night. The front desk refused to help me get in until I had to get a manger. 8 times. 8 times I tried to get into my room and the key did not work and the hotel did nothing about it but send up security to force my door open so I could get in. This place should not be allowed to operate.

I booked this stay over 6 months ago for my wife and I to spend our anniversary with a romantic getaway. The Rio has changed owners and they are trying to renovate since Caesars clearly didn't care for upkeep here. We were given a newly renovated suite. We started our stay on a Sunday and by Monday morning at 7am the renovations on the suite above us started. It proceeded to get worse and worse with power tools vibrating the entire ceiling. We called down to the front desk and they told us to pack our things and come down. After waiting in line for some time we got to the desk and the lady moved us to a suite that had not been updated. There were burn holes all over the floor from a smoker in the room. The toilet would not stop running and half of the light switches didnt work. So we called down again to talk to a manager. At this point i asked if I can pay even more to get a similar room. We went back downstairs and waited more time in line. They moved us to the 20th floor. This room has the potential to be really nice. Duct tape keeps the carpet down and the tub is definitely not the same size as the suite we paid for originally. At this point this romantic getaway with my wife has been challenging. Although the staff has been very nice and considerate in our trips up and down the hotel. They can really only do so much with a busy resort. I think after the renovations are complete this could be a great place to stay. The Pen & Teller show was amazing. The food and service at the Hash house is great. There is a lot of potential for the new owners to make this a great off the strip location. If they get the rooms sorted and the tagging off the mirrors in the elevators and update the signage to newer attractions and places to eat vs things that aren't available anymore.

This is literally happening right now. Smells like vomit and sewage.. this is disgusting. If it were possible to leave a review with less than one star, that's what I would do. ** Update ** The front desk was no help The manager was not either. This all occurred near midnight and the front desk told me that me and my daughters have to wait for maintenance to come up and attempt to mask the odor. When I went back to my room I noticed all the flooding. Maintenance showed up and so did another guest. The water was coming from the room between ours and the other guest and the maintenance person went in and confirmed it was the toilet backing up. This is the reason why we were smelling vomit and sewage in our room. However, We were told there were no room to put us in and we would have to deal with it or leave. I then proceeded to try to find a place to go to at the front desk when in a very smart sarcastic voice the manager offered a room on the 13th floor! I've never been so offended by a "hospitality" despite all this he did say he was refunding our entire trip, however as of 48 hours later I have not seen anything regarding a refund. The Rio should be ashamed of themselves as they are and have been recently the worst hotel on the strip. We are here with our team and multiple other families have had complaints regarding the rooms that they were given. One mentioned that their room was in complete construction phase with drywall all over the floor and ripped apart. The toilet wasn't even connected. Abysmal experience for all of us.. My daughter's and I found a place at candlewood suites, better substantially better but didn't get there till 3:00 a.m.

The amount of space in the suite was great, and the bathtub was big enough for my tall self to lay down in. Huge plus. The decor is definitely dated. There was damage to the carpet, lampshade, and vanity stool. But it was clean and I'm not that picky. The front desk staff was phenomenal. The bar waitresses, however, never brought me a drink. I don't know what was up, maybe I'm just a very forgettable face, but I tried politely ordering 3 times in the 3 hours I was sitting at the slots and no one ever brought me back anything. And I didn't flag them down, they came to me to ask if I wanted anything and I said yes. I could've gone to the bar if I really wanted a drink, it was just a bizarre experience and made the gambling 100% not worth it.

Great customer service very helpful & house keeping tends to our needs fully, thank you for all the towels, Toothbrush 🪥 & toilet paper 🧻 👍🏽. However, the rooms needs microwaves so we can actually reheat our left overs. Also USB charging ports on the lamps or a nightstand clock would definitely help. Other than that our room was clean. Very quiet hotel. Not really much around it. Not my first stay here but I do feel very comfortable here, even in the casinos.

A decent spot to gamble, but not much to dazzle. The Rio is kind of quiet and depressing these days compared to other casinos over on the Strip. The casino is large and has a lot of games to choose from, but it lacked the energy and excitement that I was looking for. It seemed like there were not many people playing or having fun, and the atmosphere was dull and outdated. The staff was friendly and helpful, but they could not make up for the lack of ambiance. I also missed the Carnival World Buffet (huge loss), which used to be one of the best buffets in Las Vegas, but it is now closed and being torn down to become a food hall. I was sad to see it go, as it had a lot of variety and quality food. I hope the food hall will be better, but I doubt it will match the buffet experience. On the positive side, the casino floor was clean and well-maintained, and I did win some money on the slots. The casino also has some restaurants and bars. I enjoyed my meals there and the service was good. Overall, I had a decent time on the Rio casino floor, but it was not as great as I expected. It needs some renovation and improvement to compete with other casinos in Las Vegas.

The pool only opens from 10 to 5:45pm. If you want to hit the pool on the day out, they don't offer any complimentary late check out. They charge $40. The room really needs to be updated. There's no usable hanger for towels. One of the sink's cold water can't turned on , and the other sink, water doesn't drains well. Also, 2 out if the 3 card keys don't work, and it's nice to be able to make duplicate keys at the kiosk but then one of the two newly made keys doesn't work also. The last time I was at the Rios which was years ago and I had very nice impression. This time I am back, the room is old and even the buffet is gone. 😔 The staff is friendly though. The valet parking staff helped me out with my car key battery. I am thankful for that.

We recently stayed at this hotel and we were extremely disappointed in the quality. Upon walking in, there is little to no effort at ventilation on the casino floor so you’re immediately hit with a stench of cigarettes. I understand that may be to be expected, but I should be able to breath freely in the lobby without my throat burning. The check in process took a while as there was only two people up front that were available. They do have self service check in, but upon attempting to use them, we were told our rooms weren’t ready when we arrived well after check in time. Once checked in, we made our way to the Masquerade tower, where we took the elevator to our fourth floor room with hopes of a Mountain View. As we walked in the room, we were hit with an odor of urine and the carpets were deeply stained. The actual room looked nothing like what we were shown online, and there was nothing “contemporary” about our room. The bed itself wasn’t uncomfortable, but being in the room didn’t provide much of that in itself. Our “view” was of the roof and air conditioners next to our windows so another disappointment. The furniture in the room was old, and we had only one chair at the table so we couldn’t really use it for a meal if we wanted to. The iron in the room left a brown residue on a pair of pants that were to be worn to a concert we were going to, so we had to improvise, and when we asked for a replacement we were told none were available. Staying in the room did not make you feel like you were in Vegas. The casino floor itself was not bad, but not great. The only restaurant we tried while we were there was the Pho restaurant, which provided a fast food experience rather than a dining experience, but the food was good so I guess you win some, you lose some. The pool……. The pool was freezing cold while it was 100 degrees, which one might think they’d enjoy but instead, left you leaving the pool to defrost longer than we were in the pool itself. It was extremely uncomfortable and felt like you were taking an ice bath, no exaggeration. The only perk I feel that this hotel offers is that it is located outside the strip, which allows you to disconnect and take a break from everything Vegas had to offer. Unfortunately, this hotel was a let down and we will not be staying again.

Rio: I am a current guest until mid August. Happy to update my review Rio if you fully resolve. But please don’t ask me to return to reception desk - too stressful. Brief summary: - booked 5 rooms back in Oct 22 for 11 days commencing 28th Jul 23 - arrived and hotel overbooked - 3 rooms downgraded - still charged same cost as original 5 rooms - out of pocked by over $400 - staff deliberately obfuscated - trying to convince me there was no difference between Deluxe Suite main building and Deluxe Masquerade Tower (then why the price? Plus stayed before). - took 3 calls, two receptionists, and then a supervisor before they were honest - I stayed before but had paperwork to prove to them the difference, and a copy of travel agent room guidance! Background: Booked 5 rooms back in October 2022 for July 2023. Paid $344 more for a Deluxe Suite in main building but was put in Deluxe Masquerade tower. Complained about it at guest services x3 and front desk all stating they were the same - king size bed and strip view. Eventually, the supervisor came out when I showed the receptionist the price difference (she sighed as though I had done something wrong - uncomfortable). The supervisor started stating the same thing. However, I also had booked Deluxe Masquerade at the same time as the Deluxe Suite (in fact had booked 5 different rooms) and so could show the price difference. Plus had stayed previously so knew there was a difference - plus I had a copy of there room brochure for travel agents. Eventually, the supervisor was honest and stated they had been fully booked. He also stated that they do not guarantee which room you get - though clearly they guarantee still charging you for what you thought you paid for. I also booked a Strip view for my mum, sister, and son and paid more for this. But they got booked into a mountain view. Still charged for the strip view. Eventually they gave me two nights free for two of the rooms. It doesn’t cover the full cost of the over-charging so still overpaid by a few hundred $, but they clearly are trained to wear you down. ***What is frustrating is that if they were just honest about the over-booking situation and charged me correctly for the rooms they actually gave me, then at least we all could move on from it. But they deliberately obfuscated making it more frustrating until I stood my ground and they eventually relented and told the truth. If I hadn’t booked other rooms at the same time, I would have had no comparator to demonstrate and they would not likely have relented. Such a disappointed start to my 11 day holiday with family. One other thing - my masquerade room is very noisy - works and roads outside. Another reason why I booked a Deluxe Suite. Bed is extremely comfortable.

I just needed a room for one night and got a fantastic deal. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was shocked when I walked into a beautiful spacious room with amazing views of the city. The bed was extremely comfortable and the furnishings were really nice. It was a very pleasant stay. Personally, I liked being off of the strip, where it was peaceful, and I was able to look out at the strip from a distance. Finding the entrance and parking was challenging due to construction, but the reality is, there is no way to remodel something this large without causing inconveniences.

I knew where the hotel was and booked it. In fact I booked it BECAUSE of it not being on the strip but close enough. They charge a "Resort Fee" but in fact have nothing to offer in terms of "resort". I will be disputing this with my credit card company. The pools were all under renovation so nothing of the resort style accommodation was even open. Not the outside bars, the facilities, the restaurants or the resort pool. Seriously, at least during that time, when all you have is a dated gift shop selling cheesy KISS merchandise, maybe suspend the "resort fee". Rooms were very spacious, bathrooms way too big and wasted space. Certainly dated but still acceptable. Especially for the price we paid (without the resort fee). Wait at check-In was unacceptable long. Of the 10+ check in spaces three were used, neither of them was working at any speed, in fact at one point with 20+ people in line they all had disappeared. Note to management: That time I would have been possibly in the casino gambling. Get people checked in as quick as possible so they can explore your "resort". The one good thing....parking is free! Parking garage for self parking is poorly equipped with signs directing you to reception, and you cannot park in the front and check in first.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The photos listed online are deceiving. This hotel is completely outdated and needs serious renovations. The rooms were nice in size. However, the sofa was old and stained as if it had not been changed out since the hotel was first built. Honestly all of the furniture appeared that way. The sheets had holes. The pillows were small beyond reason on the beds. The sink was stopped up. Getting in contact with guest services via their help line was impossible. The pool is closed Monday-Wednesday and only opened from 1030a.m-6pm Thursday-Sunday. So do not hold high expectations on relaxing by the pool if you do not arrive for only the weekend. The Sports Bar cafe downstairs has good food. That was a plus. I personally would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Nor will I be staying here in the future.

So far I can't rate the rooms. Check in is supposed to be at 4 pm. It is now 6:20 and the room is still not ready for untold reasons. Just what you want when making the drive from out of town after getting off work. Waiting for a room hours past check in is such great way to start your vacation! If you want to check out after 11 you are charged a fee. If you don't get to check in on time that is your problem. I never had this problem when I have stayed at the Sahara. Beware of this place they offer "Promotions" for a reason and it isn't because of their great service!

This place checks off all the boxes for me. I didn't want to stay directly on the strip and we literally came for Vinny & the Chippendales, so it worked out perfectly. The smell of cigarettes is very strong in the casino, but the tower we stayed in smelled unexpectedly fresh. I initially thought it had been recently renovated. The front desk was super quick to send us things when we asked and the halls were well stocked with drink machines. You can't beat the price, and it's a much more laid back vibe that I appreciate more than the stuffier places. There's a 24 hour drive through Dispensary in walking distance, which made me extra glad we chose the Rio.

We have been here a few hours and I would give it a negative if possible. We waited in line for over an hour just to check in. Once we were lucky enough to get to the desk they had our reservation wrong. The lady was very rude. Once we were assigned a room it was not a strip view as we had reserved. She finally gave us keys and said our room was on the 12th floor. When we got to the elevator I realized she had not bothered to write the room number on the sleeve holding the key cards. I went back to the counter to ask what the room number was. I was told I once again had to wait. When I finally got someone to assist me they said they needed to see ID in order to tell me the room number. The room was reserved in my girlfriend's name. I was told she would have to come to the counter. She was waiting at the elevator. I once again had to leave the counter and go get her to come to the counter. Believe it or not we finally got a room but if this is how this place is I can promise you we will never return. It is ridiculous. Update....To be fair everyone else we had contact with was very pleasant and helpful..

Why is it the manager or the owner doesn’t reply to reviews that are bad and shed some light he only thanks the people who gave this place a 5 star? Our room was beautiful! However there was cracks in the tiles we kept cutting out feet on. A hole in the electrical box on the floor so major safety hazard on both of those fronts. The shower didn’t close all the way so there was water everywhere. Our first room was moldy in the shower and my daughter is incredibly sensitive to mold so we need to pay more to get a different room. The elevator were sketchy as hell and almost got a man’s arm stuck some were almost breaking and shaking while riding them. The pools weren’t working the hot tub has nasty bugs in it. No one mentioned that the pools were down on the website. The staff and security were the only things that I can fully compliment about this place. It’s beautiful but very run down! They neglected it and didn’t care anymore. Hazardous place.

At first I felt it is a great hotel. But I see pathetic service. I checked in tonight. And the room phone is not working. No way I can connect to any service, front desk or anything. Every time since last night I have to walk to front desk which takes around 5 min to reach there, for any kind of service. It’s 11am still the phone did not get fixed. Now also water is shut down for 2 hours, all of sudden. They can’t shift me to any other room or they can not arrange bucket of water. Now I am stuck in the room to get freshen for the morning. And I am going to run 2 hour behind my plan. Pathetic amenities and service. No water or coffee in the room. You need to buy it from outside. The gift shop at the ground floor charged $6.45 for a litter of water bottle!!! Also only 2 persons are attending in the front desk, that caused huge queue for check in/out or other thing; always you need to wait at least 20 minutes.

We first checked into one of their older rooms - dingy, aged, and worn... I'm shocked they even rent these out. I immediately went to the front desk to request an upgrade to their remodeled rooms, which was well worth the minor upcharge! The remodeled rooms are beautiful. All employees were polite and helpful. Rio is located off the strip and each taxi ride ended up being $15-$20. Quite a few slots were out of service with taped notes saying they are going to be replaced. We enjoyed the All-American restaurant. The general store was convenient but crazy expensive.

Three stars indicates that my expectations were met. The only slightly disappointing part of my experience was at check-in. The hotel should allocate a few more desk agents to assist guests. I chose to use the automated kiosks and that line moved relatively quickly. Even so, there were only four of the nine kiosks functioning. Better performance is expected, generally. More usable kiosks would have been appreciated by all guests. This check-in xperience was offset by a patient and helpful representative who kept the line moving and helped any guests with issues. My room is comfortable and fully meets my needs easily.

I stayed at The Rio a couple months ago. My husband and I both had work conventions so we needed a place that would accommodate the both of us while we were in town. I have had several bad experiences at some of the hotels on the strip so I honestly didn’t know what to think. But I read the reviews and figured I would book it. The hotel is very clean. Lots of restaurants and shops. We stayed in one of the Masquerade Mountain View room. It was very large and was very spacious. The mountains were very beautiful in the mornings. The staff was very nice and friendly. We ate dinner one night at the Korean BBQ restaurant which was fantastic. I had never eaten it before so I was skeptical. But it was amazing. The only problem we did have was they changed our room keys right in the middle of the week so we had to get new ones but other than that. It was great. The beds are comfortable. Which is always a plus for me too. We did have to call and get our room cleaned after a couple days. Especially to change out towels, trash, etc. We did get to see Penn and Teller while we were there also which was amazing. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a clean and accommodating stay. You do have a resort fee you pay which I believe is $39.00 a night. Then on top of that you have a $50.00 per night deposit you have to leave on your card. But that seems to be the thing in Vegas so it is best to know those upfront costs before you go. I enjoyed it so much that I will be going there for vacation this coming week. I normally go to Vegas once a year but this time it will be a Vegas family vacation. I just wish there was a coffee maker in the room. Lol

I love the Rio for it's generally affordable rates, array of services and "close to" the strip location. The rooms have always been comfortable if not a tad dated but completely fine. On my most recent trip I upgraded to a larger room for something like an additional $5 a day and it was completely worth it. I will say it took a bit to get the kiosk check in system to work and I wasn't going to give up as the check in line was awful. I understand the property has been sold by Caesars to a new owner and they are doing some remodeling. I hear a food court is under construction already. As long as the new owners keep the room rates roughly where they are, I will definitely return.

I was in a bad mood. From the start and really didn't want to approach the Experience from a friendly point of view. But every time I complained and every time I grumbled. There was a employee for the Rio on hand to answer any of my questions and to direct me to anything. I needed politely. My room was well maintained. And clean. The Rio is definitely a must if you're trying to do Vegas at reasonable budget.

I visited the RIO HITEL POOL CASINO, and let me just say the pool was nice, and accommodating! Towels were warm and plentiful, no limits. I visited the bar for drinks and nachos! BEST NACHOS in Vegas thus far! I had to go back for more. They were delicious, hot and cost efficient for the large enough portion. You must try them.

We tried to check in at the self check in, but had to go to the desk to check in. There was quite a long line, but it moved at a pretty good pace. We were surprised at how large the room was. The furniture was old, the bed was comfortable, and there was a mini fridge. It had a huge window with a great view. We were sad that the Buffet was gone. We ended up eating at the All American Grill, and the food was good.

My room was clean and had a nice view. I feel the location is good because your off the strip which avoids the heavy traffic. Expect to wait about 10-15 minutes to check-in because they only have 2-3-4 front desk clerks. I've stayed here twice in the past 2 weeks so I know what I'm saying. I'm in LV for work so I'm only sleeping in the room. I get in about 10pm and leave at 9am. Can't talk about the hotel property because I sleep and then leave. The rate is great because I have a Cesar's player's card. (I play $20.00 each trip to try my luck on slots.) The resort fee is charged the same as strip hotels, but since the room is so cheap I will return again.

Rio is in need of a face-lift, but it still has some things to offer. The rooms are spacious and in decent repair and the room rates are very affordable. The casino is light on table games, but there are enough to find a seat and play. Overall a good value off the strip.

This hotel is in desperate need of complete remodeling. My room was so disgusting I ended up checking out. I arrived at 2 pm to find out check in is not until 4 pm. Doesn't matter that's how long it took to stand in line and check in. I gave my luggage to coincerige and headed to pool. ABSOLUTELY GROSS. the 3 pools that were open are not deeper than 3 1/2 ft. The water was cloudy and very warm.. I saw two towels on the bottom of pool which I removed, all around the deck of pool were beer cans, bottles, and trash. I didn't stay in very long because at 5:45 pm they close. So I actually swam for approx. 1/2 hr. Go up to my room and when I say it was disgusting, I cannot express how dirty, dusty, fingerprints all over mirrors, hair in tub, I wouldn't even consider taking my shoes off. Called the front desk from my room and got some guy from India!! I called front desk! It was bizarre. Had to go down a demand my money back. Thank goodness I'm a local and I just treat myself to a hotel every month. This was the first and last time checking into Rio Resorts! Stay Away...

I will state that the Rio is not a brand new hotel so just keep that in mind. Despite that fact, the room was clean and well maintained. No complaints about the quality or condition of the furniture or room, quite spacious. Great water pressure. My one stand out negative was that the room definitely still carried the odor of a once "smoking" room despite being labeled as a non-smoking room.

Staff was excellent in the hotel, convention center, gift shop and food delivery service. Major Kudos to them all and thank you. However there were issues: - ADA doors by lobby check in were broken for the week we were there! - The Internet kept stopping and starting every couple of minutes. (!!!) - The smoke smell from the casino was worse than ever. Almost like they said why bother to try and get rid of it. Have been here before and it used to be better. - The room was outdated and shabby but was a decent size. Had a small fridge but no microwave or coffee pot. Had a blow dryer. - Room just overall needs to be remodeled - dings and gouges in walls and furniture. I wouldn't say the room was completely dirty but it didn't really look that clean. - Gnats coming up from the bathroom sink drain. - Dim lighting in the bathroom - overall bathroom just felt gross. - Lights in the bedroom area were crooked and one of the bigger lights stopped working. - The bed being so worn out was possibly a good thing as it meant it wasn't super hard and firm like newer beds. Hurt my back less than usual. We were in the Ipanema Tower. Some at higher levels said their air conditioning wasn't working in daily over 100 degree temps. Heard of even more issues in the Masquerade Tower...including cockroaches with pictures as proof. The hotel is less expensive than others and only stayed there for a convention. Hoping that if / when they remodel the prices don't sky rocket because the Rio is NOT on the strip.

I've seen a bunch of negative reviews about the Rio. Most of them were based on the fact that it's an older property but I think they were mostly by people who just love to complain. The room was fine. The carpet was a little worn in places but overall, no complaints. The staff that we encountered were very nice and helpful. The atmosphere was good. I was disappointed that the Penn and Teller show we had tickets to was canceled but that's not the hotel's fault. I guess my only complaint would be that it was a mile from the strip and walking there in the heat was hard and cab fare was expensive. Overall we had a great time.

Well set up and good-close location to the strip .However the resort fees added on at the end was a bit of a surprise as there is scant mention to this when booking directly. Checking in is slow with only 4 max on reception. Fast check-in is marginally faster but more confusing. Be aware that the resort is under renovation and there could be a man on a gantry at 6.30 am working on your windows and talking loudly. Staff helpful but not overly approachable. Worth considering.

I don’t know if the other rooms are nasty or something, but the one we got was amazing. We came on the day their servers are down, so we had to wait for an hour and a half, but once everything is settled down, it was calm waters from there. We booked 1 king bed room, and we got two queen size beds instead! For one night, 200 near the strip? With incredible accommodations? I say that’s a steal.

The room was cleaner than I was led to believe from many mediocre reviews. The service other than maid service was pretty much non existent. I had to ask a casino pit-boss how to find the elevators to my room. The casino was busy but not so busy that I had to wait for a seat at a black jack table. The tables have $10 minimum during the day and $15 minimum at night. Lots of other casinos have $25 minimums. Many of the shops and restaurants in the resort were closed. All I wanted was a decent cheap room and a blackjack table to belly up to. If you want more there are better resorts but this one is reasonably priced and clean.

My star rating is based on my experiences prior to the new owners. I just wanted to say that I was there this past weekend to dine and play and I'm excited for what's to come to this place. This was my favorite place before covid, they used to have a lot of music and dancers and the pool area was fun. After covid my experiences were not good. Rooms were dated and customer service was lacking. However, this past weekend felt completely different. Very nice staff, new machines, more machines. I like that they're getting a food court. I can see the upcoming changes and it all looks like the Rio is gonna come back to life. For those complaining about the construction. Duh, the place is getting renovated (eye roll).

Love The Rio. The standard deluxe room was reasonable spacious for the cost of the room. Great views of Vegas and the Strip. Always a great time at the Rio. Mask are posted everywhere so there is not the constant hounding environment of casino staff telling you to wear your mask. Won some money and that's always a A Lister Casino to me. Voodoo Lounge and Buffet is still closed but there are plenty of other yummy places to eat like Smash Burger. Highly recommend The Rio! Also, the pools are the best as well. So much to do in very little time.

This hotel was ok. May have been a good hotel 20 years ago. The rooms are spacious and the food options were ok. The furniture in the room was dated. However getting towels and getting your room cleaned is a challenge. We were gone all day on our 3rd day in Vegas. We returned and the room hadn’t been cleaned. We needed new towels but since the room wasn’t cleaned there were no clean towels. Called down to request to get new towels only. After 2.5 hours, nothing. So we went to dinner and to enjoy Vegas. 2 hours later we returned and the room was still not cleaned and no new towels. Called housekeeping waited 40 minutes for an answer only to speak with someone who was no even at the hotel. Beth could only take a request. She then “transferred “ me to housekeeping supervisor. So she claims but the line just rang and and rang. Finally after 3 calls, and hours wasted I FINALLY got clean towels. Stay here at your own risk. Make sure you bring your own towels. Also each call for assistance was at least a 30 to 40 minute hold on average. Oh and did I mention that housekeeping updated their log stating they cleaned our room but NEVER cleaned our room.

I really liked it ! We had a great trip it could have been more clean but it wasn't very dirty. It took us around 7 8 hours to get there and we also had to fly 4 hours so we were exhausted when we got there expecting an early check-in like we reserved and we had to sit in the lobby for 5 hours until they had a room available but other than that and a lot of stuff not being open because of covid it was a pretty good trip. Big rooms great views but the rooms are definitely outdated and the rooftop club was closed the whole time

Room was huge, pool was nice. The bed was ok. The sofa and chair were frayed and stained. The carpet had a large stain. As of labor day 2021 everyone had to wear a mask inside unless eating, smoking or drinking. Buffet was completely closed.

  • 3/5 Elaine L. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely showing its age. Room was clean, but worn. The biggest problem is we got no maid service the last 3 days we were there, for some reason. There's also no shuttle from the airport, and if there's shuttles to/from elsewhere, they are not well advertised. The pool was fun, clean and refreshing, but there weren't nearly enough pool chairs. I'm not a gambler so I can't really comment on the casino. Cheap, safe and clean, but if you're looking for a glamorous Vegas strip vacation, probably go somewhere else.

I always have a relaxing stay at Rio, however I wish that more of the restaurants were open during my stay. Forced me to find other dining options off property, which is fine. Yes the rooms are older, but still comfortable. As a diamond elite status with Caesar's Entertainment, it would be nice if the Laurel lounge was open.

  • 5/5 Cynthia B. 2 years ago on Google
I feel like because of Covid you had to close your restaurant. You should have that advertised on your site. You should offer a shuttle from the airport. It was hard finding different food to eat. Even through the food was good.

  • 3/5 Stephanie L. J. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are a little dated, but are spacious. No coffee makers in the rooms, you would definitely have to venture downstairs and be subjected to a fairly pricey drink (but this is Vegas right). The location is off of the strip, so if you don't have your own transportation, cabs are the key to get around (no surge charges, etc) the fares are the same 24/7, except for airport fares, there set, but are a little more depending on your location. Not all of the elevators were functional, but thank goodness they have two elevator hallways. Overall, it was busy, loved the view from the Strip side. Nighttime views are excellent.

I read many reviews before my trip and was concerned as to the condition of the hotel and what my room may look like. While the casino was dark and many businesses and restaurants not open, the condition was just fine. There was always food available and the staff was helpful everywhere. My room was spacious, clean and in good condition. I was pleasantly surprised. I would stay here again. Especially for the price point.

Rio is great. It's been a staple here in town for quite some time now. Very large selection of table and slot games on the casino floor. The home of Penn & Teller. 2 Starbucks! Good places to eat. Nice adequate shopping area. Really nice pool area. Decent sports book. Multiple bars. Kiss Arcade. Hasn't been running for quite some time but they used to have a cirque performance inside above the casino floor that was pretty spectacular. Highly recommend, go before it's gone, word on the street is that they are tearing it down at the end of the year.

Valet parking was the best. The self-check-in kiosks are functional but take a while to get used to. I had a mobility accessible room. Bars adequate! Walk in shower. Very nice. Very nice! King size bed. Room 348 110 volt socket on the desk lamp doesn't work. All in all, between the Rio and the convention center is entirely too much walking. Great distances. Really should have some sort of transportation service for people who are mobility impaired.

Very quick to check in with the hotel kiosk. Room was clean but it did smell like cigarettes. The housekeeping was amazing Sophie and Claudia on the 21st floor helped us out. They apologized but it was not their fault that someone smoked in a non-smoking room. I went for a medical procedure and both Sophie and Claudia made sure the day of my procedure i came back to a clean room. They brought fresh blankets, towels and pillows too.Beautiful large room with great views. Plan on coming back soon. 😀

My husband took me here for my birthday. I really enjoyed myself. Food was good at the restaurant and the entertainment was awesome. Motown Revue Hitzville The Show they were so so good. Beautiful hotels with a nice beach /pool area. The best birthday ever in Las Vegas.

The Rio had its day, about 20 years ago. The rooms look like they haven’t been updated since it was built. The room was clean, but needs a lot work. The whole floor reeked of cigarettes and weed. The hotel sits a good 20-25 minute walk from the strip where you will walk past a lot of homeless people. If you want to just stay at the property to swim, entertainment, and gamble then it should be fine. The check in process was extremely slow. You could tell the staff seem frustrated from probably a slow outdated system. They were also extremely understaffed at the front desk. None of the express check in/check out machines worked. If some TLC was given to the property it could be very very nice again!

The staff here at Rio Las Vegas went above and beyond to ensure my family were well taken care of.  I would like to write a humble note of appreciation for the excellent customer service that I have received from Angelina, Josyln, and Rosalyn Jones Hotel Manager. Every staff member from House Keeping, Maintenance and Bell Desk was attentive and kind. I would like to commend everyone for being so pleasant and accommodating. This level of service deserves a praise of gratitude for providing the excellent customer service. I felt compelled to share my story as we need more positive experiences to remind us there are still good people in this 🌎 with professionalism, patience, and a “people-first” attitude. Your customer service does not go unnoticed. ❤️ Thank you.

Was there one night before my flight home. Overall the entire place seemed old but not in a musty smelly way. The staff were in the casino were nice and happy to help. Check-in was at 4pm, my room wasn't ready until 6:15. I went to dinner off preparer and came back to the room for the night. The room was huge and the size of 3 rooms. I wish I had known how big the rooms were i would've stayed longer. An entire wall of windows overlooking Las Vegas. If you're looking for hype, new and modern Rio may underwhelm you. BUT if you're looking for bang for your buck then get a room here!

A lot of changes. More table games. New carpet. All employees were friendly. Only problem is the elevators. The one bank had two of eight working and even those two were intermittent. We complained to the desk but they said the elevators were handled by a third party. Long lines to go to and from your room. The rest of the casino was fine.

Stayed in the masquerade tower for 7 nights with two kids Wonderful stay Room was clean, big, and beds are sooooo comfortable. I am a nonpillow sleeper and felt like sleeping on the clouds. My kids loved the pools and the kiss world I had a rental for the whole week and parking was free and easy in the masquerade parking garage Don't forget to check the view from the top of the parking garage at night above railway Would recommend and come back again

Never stayed at a more run-down location. EVER. Absolutely filthy. The carpets are stained, cigarette burns in our 'non-smoking room' and I had to report the dog poop on the casino floor - but who to report it to? There is nobody available for customer service. Finally just told the hostess at one of their restaurants about the poop in the Casino walkway. Check-in is a NIGHTMARE. Too few staff. I used self check-in but the keys didn't work. Tried to get someone to help with the key situation only to be shouted at to get to the back of the check-in line even though I'd already checked in. The woman who was supposed to be helping with self-check-in was 'upgrading' a long, long line of people - so she was completely unavailable. And there I stood with two keys that didn't work and now what? If your keys are even remotely near your phone they don't work. We tried hard to separate the phone and keys but literally waving one in front of the other 'broke' the keys. Over the course of a few days, we had to get 10 keys made! The smell of the place is difficult to stomach. Weed, booze, sweat, poop, and who knows what else. The room never got cool enough to not be sweating ... They are working on updating the site, while expecting patrons to walk on by and not notice all of the disruption. Woken up by the drilling noises, and venues are shut down. Sad. I'd always wanted to stay at the Rio. Now, never again.

This hotel is 1 mile away from the main strip, but it is very old and needs serious renovation. 1. Poor management of the hotel overall 2. Lobby front desk staff is super slow and rude. 3. Check in time is 4PM where other big hotels on the strip offer 3:00 PM check in, and early check-in without any extra cost. 4. We reached there around 3:00 PM, (just 1 hour before actual check in time), and lobby staff rejected free early check-in and rudely informed me to come back in one hour if you don't want to pay early check-in charges even though our room was ready. 5. Rooms are spacious but very outdated - couch was worn-out, damaged carpet, old refrigerator, bathtub was clogged, low shower pressure. 6. We had to call front desk 3 times to request basic room cleaning service to remove trash and provide new towels. Forget about cleaning rooms every day. 7. Towels are also very old and show signs of wear. 8. Very dull casino, and overall ambiance Definitely I won't recommend this place to anyone.

Our room was too warm, so we had them switch us to another (after waiting in line at reception for 20min). The second room was the same, despite being on another floor, so we got a refund and left (after waiting in line for 30min). The AC in the rooms can only change the temperature about 15 degrees from the outside. It was 95 outside and night time and it felt about 80 in the room. We had no trouble with staff giving us another room and refund other than the lines. The pillows are so soft that they only have about one inch of padding.

AMAZING Stay! I’m a frequent traveler and can’t tell you how impressed I am with Rio’s outstanding staff! Angelina at the front desk provided the most incredible service - she was professional, efficient and kind. She made my check-in seamless and experience at the Rio just so wonderful! Kudos to hotel manager Robert & Ms. Rose for leading an exceptional team! I really enjoyed the spacious room and convenience of the many restaurants at Rio. Beyond thrilled to say the least… I’ll be back!!!

We stayed for 3 nights last weekend and this was by far the worst experience I've had in a hotel near the Strip. The "deluxe" room we stayed in was outdated, run down, and had mold in the bathroom. We also didn't have hot water two mornings and it was instead frigid cold. The elevators broke multiple times in the Masquerade tower so it took up to 20 minutes to get an elevator. The hotel is also woefully understaffed so expect long wait times at the bars and restaurants in the casino. Very few food options as well so we had to walk to nearby restaurants to even get a table. I did contact the online concierge about these issues and they weren't able to help or offer reimbursement. Instead, they told me to speak to a manager at the front desk which would have taken a long time since they cut back on staff and installed automated kiosks. While the Rio may be slightly cheaper than other hotels near the Strip, it is still expensive and definitely not worth the hassle. Look elsewhere next time you are in Vegas.

Overall the Rio was a good place to stay if you’re looking for a good deal on rooms or a budgeted stay. The room was a bit dated and could have used a refresh. However, the bed and bathroom were very clean! Food in restaurants was good, dealers were friendly. One downside is the wait to check in, long line and kiosk didn’t work. Had a good time at the pool as well. I would go back again!

I was disappointed in the quality of the property and the customer service received during my stay. A few examples: - While clean, my room finishes and furnishings were long past the dates they should have been refurbished. Badly damaged furniture, worn carpet, broken light fixtures hanging haphazardly from the walls, worn/thin towels seemed to be the norm in my room and in the rooms occupied by others I spoke to. - At least 50% of the restaurants and facilities were either never opened, or open only abbreviated hours. Lunch options consisted almost solely of the All American Grill, which was undersized and woefully understaffed. - One of the pools was not operating, and none of the poolside amenities were open, except for one overworked bar. Every email I received from the Rio prior to my stay highlighted the pool options and amenities, but in actuality the pool area was dismal. - Security staff. Why were most of the security staff wearing bright yellow uniform tops with black tactical-style vests? The Rio is advertised as a resort hotel, not an armed compound. The uniforms were unfriendly and off-putting. What happened to the days of hotel security wearing suits or sport coats and looking like hotel management, instead of guards are a minimum security facility? - Elevator security. Why is it necessary to have these guards stationed at the elevator lobbies? And why the metal-detector looking scanners? Was there a threat to the hotel or guests that we were not made aware of? And why were these stations so understaffed? Wait lines to get through security at the Masquerade Tower elevator were over 30 minutes long at “peak” times (around 5PM) - just to get to an elevator to your room. - Employee attitude. From the guest services front desk, to the restaurant staff, to the tactical-vest equipped security personnel, almost every staff member made me feel unwelcome, as if even answering a simple question was a burdensome task to them. In their behalf, it was evident that each team member seemed to be doing the work of at least two other employees, and they were stretched to their limits. However, I expect to be greeted warmly by staff, not like an intruder.

My Experience was not the greatest upon arrival, apparently all of the check in kiosk were down and they were limited on the amount of front desk employees. This resulted in a 2 to 3 hour wait to get from the back of the line to the front. People were door dashing food in line, children were anxious and sleepy (it was a late night check in after midnight). After my legs started to fall asleep I noticed the most warm face smiling to be able to assist me. Finally someone to talk to other than the friends I made in line while we bonded over our wait time trauma. Her name was Angelina and she turned my entire experience around. She did this while simultaneously address existing guest issues…and being firm but polite while being the sole hero of the front desk as she was alone. Even with the wait we could all tell she was working quickly and as efficiently as possible. There was even a small rally when someone tried to cut the line and she was not allowing that at all. I say all of this to say she was graceful, professional, welcoming, respectful, tactful, and all the things one would want before nights of debauchery or saintliness in Las Vegas. Angelina was fantastic! Thank you!

Loved this hotel!!! So much to offer, see, and do!!! So, so, much !!! We had a suite. Didn't like the fact we weren't notified of water being shut off then, no hot water for awhile but, it all came back on. Construction made things a little crazy with Starbucks but, all in all it was great!!! Food was great as well for what was available late/early mornings. I love this hotel!!!! Can't share lots of photos due to others being in them

I was worried about staying here after after reading various reviews and seeing other social media reports. I’m glad I didn’t. The staff have all been friendly and professional. The room is comfortable. It is a bit dated with the furniture and could use more outlets closer to the bed and desk to power devices. The bathroom shows signs of aging, but was wonderfully cleaned by housekeeping. The restaurant options are reasonable as are their hours. Overall, the stay was well worth the price and I would book at the Rio again should I return to Vegas

  • 3/5 Jon D. 7 months ago on Google
The place is being renovated soon and really needs it. The room was really not worth the price. The hotel is off the strip which isn't a problem for me but may be for some. The windows were very thin so we got a lot of early morning construction noise. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The casino has lots of smokers so that's kind of a drag. Can't wait to redo this review after renovations.

Rooms were dated but in good repair, clean, and staff was helpful and friendly. Service at valet was 5 star. The front desk always had a lineup. Staff were knowledgeable, but there just wasn't enough. Restaurants, when open, had great staff. The location was good. We had a car so it was easy to get anywhere. Pools were not all open. Lots of clean towels, Place felt safe with lots of security.

The rooms were a little bit dated, but something that they are actively working to enhance. My room didn't have a "please do not disturb" sign for the door and I wasn't provided one throughout my stay. Not a big deal, I just didn't want house keeping in my room. It's a short, but walkable, distance from the rest of the Strip.

  • 5/5 Tatiana M. 6 months ago on Google
Don’t be spooked by the fact that the half of the hotel is under construction. It doesn’t change their hospitality service levels. We really thought we might need to have our camping gear to sleep, just because we didn’t know if they will be clean. Rooms are clean! Spacious and nice. Maybe a bit outdated, but that’s secondary. Checkin line was huge, but it took only a few min for the staff to process everyone. The staff provides their services to the fullest, sometimes only making money off our tips. Casino works in lobby and there are places to grab a bite. Rio is only 10 min away from Strip, and super close to Sphere (our trip destination). The location kept us away from madness, especially this fall when the city rebuilds everything through Strip for the race in November. Overall, yes for a weekend stay.

  • 3/5 Adam S. 6 months ago on Google
The room was mostly great! One drawer was missing its handle, and the safe didn’t work, but aside from that it was good. The room cost was low, but the resort fee was more than double the room fee. Still pretty good value nevertheless. Unfortunately we happened to check in on the very day they were switching over to a new computer system, so it was a bit of a gong show. Location just off the strip was great too. Quieter than strip hotels, still close enough to walk, and some shops/food options nearby.

  • 4/5 Judy W. 5 months ago on Google
Wonderfully big spacious room. Would be better if the bathroom proper was cleaner. Off the strip but close enough and tall enough to get a beautiful view. They were doing a repaint on the exterior, due to new ownership I guess, but at ten pm and 6:30 am ARE NOT the best times to accomplish that. The new ownership has changed policy regarding pets. They are no longer pet friendly but of course will allow service animals.

Stayed here in the UPDATED ROOMS. The room was so pretty! The updated double room came with a couch with an attached chase lounge and large living room table. Beautiful view of the strip, 2 sinks (1 inside the bathroom and 1 outside), open shower with handheld shower head, and lamps with USB and plug ports. Has a mini fridge inside as well. I will def stay here again when I go back to Vegas. Oh, and FREE parking!!!

I was in Vegas for less than 24 hours and the Rio gave me what I needed. The bed was very clean and the sheets and pillows were very comfortable. The carpet and couch were pretty rough looking but I didn’t need to sit on those. Overall, I was happy with the price/comfort ratio.

We spent the weekend here and the room is large and beautiful. It’s not on the strip but it’s close by. They have a wide variety of nice restaurants, including Starbucks and Smashburger. I recommend this location for those who want to stay without being in the heavy tourism of the strip. Please be advised that the pool is closed for remodeling. Unfortunately, the best pool in Las Vegas is closed for the season.

The entire reason we booked, the pools, were closed. Not advertised on third party booking. Dated but very spacious room with a decent view. Staff doing their best despite obviously understaffed during the buy out. Very straight shot to meow wolf which was nice, but wouldn't have booked here if things were advertised up front. In 5 years I could see this being a great hotel again

My stay consisted of a four night stay. I arrived late Monday night, after a long day of work. On the way to the room I almost stepped on dog poop. Thankfully someone told me before I stepped in it. As soon as I opened the door it smelled like someone smoked a whole pack of cigarettes in the room. I tried to call the front desk but the room phone did not work. I gave up and just went to sleep. The next night it was the same thing. I used my phone to call the front desk. They informed me in order to deodorize my room I must not be in the room. They offered to spray febreze. I waited and no one came. I decided to call the next day and have them deodorize the room. It smelled better when I got to the room but still had a hint of smoke. My second complaint is that they charged me a resort fee higher than my room fee, but I did not see a pool, spa, or even fitness center. I was unaware that Valet was free (other than the tip) until the last night, because a friend told me. I feel like this is something I should of been told upon check in. Make sure to secure your vehicle. A coworker staying had his truck stolen out of the parking lot. For the price the room was good. The bed was comfortable and clean. The restroom and room were clean other than the smell. They made my bed each day. I would stay again but only by myself, not with my family.

Very clean and large room. If you have transportation it was nice being a little off the strip because you get an excellent view. We had a great view of the strip and half of the valley - it made the room that much better. I didn't care for the entertainment option here but that's not a big deal since we just went elsewhere.

I stayed at the Rio earlier this year. Also my family has stayed there in the past years. I have always enjoyed the place. Rooms are large, amenities are great, and they took good care of me one time when check in was very backed up and I had recently had my hip replaced. They took personal care of me and even comped me 2 nights for the inconvenience. They have great room rates during the week. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend it.

I stayed here in Veterans Day weekend and it was the worst decision of my trip. I went or Vegas to get married on 11/11/23, and the hotel didn’t have a King bed available when we arrived, that was reserved 6 months before our stay! They put us in a double bed room on a high floor in the Mascarade . This wouldn’t have been so bad of the elevators didn’t stop working. On my Wedding night we walked up 36 flights of stairs TWICE!!!! The elevators were broken or down to just one 3 of the 4 nights we stayed. There was no apology, no mention of it from the staff, no attempt to fix the issue in a hurry. When I did call to see if the elevators were fixed, the woman I spoke to on the phone lied and said they were fixed an hour ago and had an attitude. However when we got back for the evening they were still broken. You definitely need transportation if you’re staying here because it is not in walking distance of anything. I would NEVER recommend this place if you’re going for something important. I have never experienced something like this and I travel often. It was the worst part of my wedding experience.

This is hard to rate. As for standards it's not too bad. They are in the the middle of a remodel so w that being said it's decent. The carpets are kinda trashed and the bathroom shower doors need to be replaced years ago. But w that being said the bed was extremely comfortable and room was huge. And the view was pretty good too. Walls however are PAPER THIN. Found that out the hard way since our neighbors were up before 6 every morning. But from the 22nd floor it was good. Went to the all American restaurant I think it's called. Food was good, great sizes.
