    - This waterfall flows in 3 folds, and is very pleasant to the eyes. - You cannot reach this place with your own vehicle you need to opt for a 4X4 Jeep to reach this place. - The Jeep ride might cost you around 700 Rupees per group of 4-5 individuals. - The way to the waterfall is muddy, and will generate lots of dust (We travelled in December) - Kindly wear mask while reaching here to escape from the dust as well as COVID. - Very limited space to take bath in the waterfall since the stream created by this falls is very small and the water level might reach your ankle or knee based on your height. - You cannot swim here. - Good place to spend around 30 minutes here and capture some photos. - There is a ramp kind of structure which can be reached by taking the path at the side. This is not recommended for children and old people. - It can be dangerous climbing ramp since algae formation can create slippage. - We stayed in Orioles by Hideout ( Kuteera) they have a complementary visit to Jhari Waterfall included in their package, without any extra cost. - Overall a great experience.

Reaching the waterfall involves navigating a steep and broken muddy road, approximately 3.5 kilometers long. Typically, jeeps are available to transport visitors from the main road to the falls. The waterfall, aptly named Buttermilk Falls, is a delightful sight and the water is refreshingly cold. I've visited this waterfall numerous times because it allows you to get up close, touch, and play in the water. Remarkably, the waterfall is situated on private property, and the owner generously allows free access to tourists, without any restrictions. On my recent visit, I noticed they were even widening the pathway to facilitate vehicle movement. Accessing the waterfall can be a bit challenging. You can opt to trek a distance of approximately 3-5 kilometers or hire a jeep at the main gate, which costs around 800 INR for a round trip for a family. Although the jeep ride can be a bit bumpy, it's generally manageable for kids and elderly couples. However, I would advise caution to those with back problems. The jeep can't reach the waterfall directly; it stops about 100 meters away, requiring a short walk to reach the falls.

One of the best places in Chikmangalur to visit. But it was very crowded. The 10 mins jeep ride to the waterfalls is quite painful. The road is very dusty I suggest you to carry masks. Prefer a closed jeep for your travel.

Waterfall with covers beauty ❤ Must see when you are on a mullayanagiri trip. No need to go to the top when there is much water flow it is dangerous. You have to go by Jeep (Can't go by the cars and Bikes as stones and mud full off road only not good for even a Good bike also, if you love your bike ₹200-300 per head is not a matter) Jeeps may charge around ₹800 for 6 people accompany. If you are two, four people you can go by paying the whole amount or you can share with the visitors but yours and their time should match to visit and come back from the waterfalls. Waterfalls was awesome and cold water💦

Very nice place and a bit crowded too. Best time to skip the crowd is in the early morning. 2Km trek to falls. If you have SUV kind of vehicle then you can skip trek and drive towards the falls or else you can hire the 4*4 jeep for round trip. I choose trek and yes fun while going and climbing back is a big task. I did it somehow. Apply sunscreen while trekking in summers or else u will end up with tan. Enjoyed in water for 40 min and started climbing back. It took around 3 hrs . As I visited on April 23 and in summers. So I have hydrated myself while climbing up and down.

One of the waterfall which is safe and also you can enjoy the fall because it is stepped. To reach here, mind a turn that goes down from main highway and I recommend to go only if you have engine more than 900cc otherwise park on the main road and walk to the fall for about 3kms. Very beautiful place and scenic view and great for photography purpose. Can enjoy with family and friends (safe for kids). Not too much rush

Was fortunate to reach this fall early, no jeeps were there. So I took my bike inside. Offroad was good and challenging, thoroughly enjoyed it. No tourists were there, enjoyed the falls alone with my wife. Tourists started coming after 11 am. Lovely places, cold water, nice refreshing bath.

One of the biggest water fall I have ever seen. It's so beautiful and huge that I almost spend 1 hr in the water. Water is clean for bathing but little chilly, once you are in water for 5 mins you will not feel the chillness anymore. Also the place is not much crowded. Ideal time to visit the place would be during rainy season, as water would be in abundance. I visited this place in October first week. As you can see there are two levels within the fall, fun fact about the fall is that we can actually climb to these platforms. But obviously the first one from the top is at more height then it looks from ground or in pictures, also one need to be extra cautious while climbing up and coming down from these two levels. There's a path from left side of the fall from where you can climb to these heights. You will get a nice aerial view of the jungle from the top of the platform. There is a huge rock on the top platform where you can actually sit while water is continuously falling on your back. Also it's safe as the platform is quite broad but that does not mean that one should not be cautious. One thing to keep in mind is that because of water and some algae growth in the rocks, it's bit slippery at some places, also please don't go too close to the platform edge as it may be slippery there and one could easily loose balance. Request children and elderly people not to climb to these platforms. This place is ideal location for a photo shoot also. You can definitely find some good spots to click some nice clicks.

Great place to visit!! It's an awesome waterfall with scenic beauty. Once you reach at location, there is a bumpy and dirty road which needs to be covered by Jeep. Jeep takes total of 6 people and cost is 800 per Jeep. You can look for other travellers and go together if you are less than 6. Once you reach there, you will be given a coupon which you need to give it to them for return ride. You need to come back with same group you are going there. Try to get covered bolero instead of Jeep if you don't want your hair and clothes to be covered with red dirt. But if you don't get it, then put on a mask and cover your head at least for Jeep. Even drivers wear masks while driving. Pack some clothes to change if you wanna have a bath there. Water was chilling cold in Jan!! There are few eateries available near the falls and location as well.

A lovely place. A beautiful waterfalls. They also call it as butter milk waterfalls. Clean water and beautiful surroundings. You have to hike some distance to get this place. The trail is very slippery and sometimes the place is too crowded. There is no proper sign boards to give directions from the road to the waterfalls. There are many stalls around the area on the road side where you can buy raincoats, eatables and stuff. The place is infested with leaches. So be very cautious when you get here inside the water or move around here. Check the legs and if you see one leach just burn it off or use Dettol when you come back home.

Nice place. This is a complete ghat area. You will see some beautiful spots in the middle of the way. After reaching this place you need to book a Jeep ride because around 4km to the waterfall is a very rough road. They will take 800 per 5 people basically a group for up and down. But I am sure you will enjoy this 4km Jeep ride. After reaching this place you have to walk a little bit then you will enjoy the waterfall.

A beautiful waterfall on the way to baba budan hills. You have to park your vehicle on the hills. Local jeep owners drive you down to the falls through the forest for about 15mins. You can get in the water and stand right under the falls.

A very good waterfalls but better go down with a jeep and pay them 200 bucks. Its 3 km down and 3 km back walk from the Top but it's worth walking if you plan on walking. While going down it will be so easy as the road goes downways but while coming up, you better take rest or walk slowly to save energy to come up. No matter what, its a wonderful sight to eyes. Must experience and go prepared with spare clothes and a towel to change dress. Can take a bath at the Falls. Caution: No place to change dresses and got no washroom. Better come with empty tank. However, there's restroom on the way to Shooting point location where you gotta pay 10 bucks.

Visit this place if you are in Chikmagalur. This place might not be worth a visit in summers due to low water in the waterfall. Jeep ride is thrilling and adventurous. However I do not suggest it to people who have weak bones or delicate health. Also one need to take all the precautions while riding else there is a chance of injury. Catch the Jeep at the Jeep point they charge 600 rs per ride (to and fro) and issue a token. The token need to be kept safe . You can show the token during return and chose to ride back in any of the jeeps. Waterfalls is a quick 5 minute walk from the Jeep drop point. Waterfall is Serene, pristine , beautiful and refreshing. But the crowd spoils the ambience and makes it look like an amusement park sadly. Better visit on a weekday when the crowd is minimal. However it is still worth a visit. Please do carry some water bottle and snacks. There are no shops next to the waterfalls. Kulfi was available near the waterfalls.

A beautiful waterfall. This would surpass your expectations. Best place to enjoy with friends, family or even alone. Jhari falls is located a few km from the entry point of mullayanagiri hills. You can feel so alive during this drive too. A lush green nature, quite mesmerizing drive. The only way to reach falls from the main road is by Jeep. Note there are no entry fees to falls but you have to pay for the Jeep drive. Minimum they expect 4 people to accommodate in the Jeep with a total cost of 800 per 4 persons. It will take a minimum of 10-15 minutes to reach the falls. The roads will be very hard to even walk. You will feel like going in a roller coaster with so many ups and downs. But worth it for the drive. You can spend how much time you want. The good part is there is no time frame. They will issue a token for your return, during your return you can take any jeep, give that token. They will take you to the entry point. This is quite a good approach. The falls are very gigantic. There are multiple levels of falls. You can even reach there, there is a path over to reach. But it's quite risky. Keep your gadgets and electronic items while playing in falls. Best place to visit and must visit. This review is completely based on my experience.

The adorable waterfalls in the midst of awesome greenery, falls are good enough even in summer. One of the best spot for to enjoy who likes the falls. We can reach the falls only by jeep ride which costs a little but the ride is mandatory one cannot drive car till the falls. Kids will love this area though the water is very cool so take precautions for the kids. The sound of the falls surrounding with pleasant trees 🌳 which give fresh oxygen is the best thing which one can ask for from the nature. The people visiting here please protect nature and it’s beauty. Don’t throw waste nearby that too plastic.

A decent waterfall where you could relax for a while or enjoy jumping in and getting wet. You will most certainly have to opt for a Jeep as it’s a long stretch of Off-roading. They usually charge 800-1000 per vehicle which can accommodate around 8 people. I traveled solo and so it cost me ₹200. And since I was solo, I had to wait quite a bit, like 15 minutes which is justified. You would most certainly live this waterfall if you visit it on a weekday.

Wonderful falls. You can come with family also. From main road, you can come with own bike or car or rented Jeep to reach falls. Bike option better. Don't try to walk. Its difficult to walk while return. You can save time if u reach by own vehicle.

This spectacular falls comes on the way to Baba Budangiri. You cannot go to the falls on private vehicles. This waterfall is located in a private estate and hence you need to take a jeep to reach the falls. They charge for the entire jeep. So better you form a group of 6-7 people to share the cost. This falls is also called as buttermilk falls as the water coming from the top is pure white color that resembles buttermilk. Try reaching there early in the day to avoid crowds.

It's a perfect place to chill and play. Usually it would be crowded, but when we visited there was no crowd at all, so we have a chance to spend more than an hr playing in water. Water is so chill and it taste sweet!! Waterfall is located very interior, we need to hire a jeep to go to falls (approximately 2kms), even you can go by walk. Waterfall was so clean and around 100mts on the way to waterfall is quite slippery and be careful. If you go on weekdays, it would not be crowded and we can play in water and enjoy the beauty of waterfalls

A place to be visited. Suggest people to walk towards falls rather than taking jeep . It used to be very less crowded before now due to book in internet communication it is crowded mostly by youngsters who usually booze around and create nonsense I request government of Karnataka and department of tourism to take strict action and avoid plastic and drinks in this place and also charge minimal fee for visit to maintain surrounding also Make sure that frequency of people should be limited visit per day to maintain cleanliness and to avoid disturbing forest animals. A beautiful waterfall with 100+feet length and lovely cascade.. people can enjoy nature bath as flow is great. But to reach there you have to hire special jeep as road down the hill is WORST. Dusty, bumpy, treacherous trail where only local drivers can drive. No government initiative to make it better (stretch belongs to private estate ).No facility of clothes changing, washroom. KSTDC must do something as it's a must see tourist spot.

An absolute delight to visit the place. You need to hire a jeep ride to the waterfall which takes you across rough terrain. Also known as the buttermilk fall is a must visit during or just after monsoon to experience this waterfall in all its glory.

Awesome waterfalls and also a nice off-road experience. But be careful while visiting late evenings jeep guys won't come immediately to pick you from the waterfall. We literally walked 1.5 KM in the dark in dense forest roads. Transportation needs some good management.

It is fine. Not that amazing waterfall. And is too much work to just get there. You will have to take jeeps that cost 800 for 6 people. And it's completely off Roading. In monsoon season the roads are very risky and slippery. And in the end what you see is a waterfall will muddy water full of people waiting for jeeps to take them back. The nature and the view are good but the experience you get to just see it is really bad. Or if you like adventure then off-roading in a Jeep might make you feel the experience was worth it. Added some pictures and videos of my experience in June end. Hope it was helpful.

Man this was such a treat! The place was incredibly beautiful, in-fact I’m out of words! So I headed to this place after visiting Z point, on reaching the location had to board a jeep. The drivers charge ₹800 for one jeep, irrespective of the number of people. Max capacity 6. The riders were pure professionals, the jeep ride itself was a fun off roading experience. Once we reached the bottom, had to walk for 2 mins and alas the beauty! Checkout the pictures

Hi ALL, One of the popular tourist attractions is the Jhari falls. We decided to have a look at it. Try to visit this place early morning so that, you can spend some time there (may be around half an hour). You can park your vehicle on the main road & have to necessarily take a jeep ride as the road to the falls is quite bumpy. The ride is not recommended for senior citizens above 75 years or for people who have back problems. Normal cars cant reach the destination as the road is quite uneven. Guess, its been deliberately kept so so that, the locals can earn money. They charge Rs.400/- person (to & fro) Any way, the waterfall is OK nothing spectacular. When we reached there in the afternoon (Around 3 pm), there were quite a crowd so, couldn't it that much. Just wish that, people don't litter here. Check the video & you come know why its a bumpy ride...

Loved this place. Had fun in water. Only issue one might face is no place to change. Would definitely recommend to visit.

We need to get a jeep to reach waterfall which is 3.5 km away from the main road, that jeep ride is not at all easy one for the old people. After jeep ride 5 min walk you can see the beautiful waterfall. It's like two step waterfall you can go to the first layer also.. but it's risky to shower over there. Be aware of leech 🦐, everywhere you can find leech. Nearby the waterfall no restroom or no dress changing room also nothing to eat, so plan accordingly. It's crowded but good place to take some pictures. Jeep ride is 800rs and they allowed 6 persons, but nothing in organised manner. Enjoy the experience 😀

Most underrated waterfall in chickmagalur. This is best waterfall ever seen. Roads are bike and car friendly, we had a thrilling and adventurous experience on the way to the place. It will be better if government maintains this well so it can attract more tourists.

Just mesmerizing. One of the must go place in chikamangaluru. The megistic waterfall is just wow. If you are going there for first time then be prepared that you won't be taking your personal vehicle as that is not allowed. You get private jeeps which will take u and bring you back from the waterfall and it will cost 700 per jeep and 6 people are allowed. If you are travelling in small group u can patch with other travelers and share the jeep

Nestled amidst nature's bounty, Jhari Waterfalls stands as a breathtaking testament to the captivating allure of Mother Earth. My visit to this natural wonder was an enchanting experience that left me in awe of its grandeur and left a lasting impression on my soul. As I approached the waterfalls, the gentle sound of cascading water echoed through the forest, welcoming me to a realm of tranquility. The sight of the water gracefully descending from great heights, adorned with shimmering droplets reflecting the sun's rays, was nothing short of mesmerizing. The lush greenery surrounding the falls added to its charm, creating an idyllic setting that instantly put me at ease. The journey to the base of the waterfall was an adventure on its own, navigating through well-marked trails and occasionally crossing small wooden bridges that enhanced the natural experience. We need to take the local jeep to reach. It costs 800 per jeep The waterfalls also offered ample opportunities for wildlife spotting. I was fortunate enough to witness various bird species perched on tree branches, adding their melodies to the symphony of nature. In conclusion, Jhari Waterfalls is an enchanting destination that transports visitors to a realm of peace and serenity. Its sheer magnificence and tranquil atmosphere make it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and wanderers seeking solace amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A journey to this cascading wonder is an invitation to embrace the marvels of our planet and find solace in its raw beauty.

One of the best during monsoon but it’s tooo crowded during monsoon and weekends , best visit during the weekdays From Chikkamagaluru city it’s 24kms. Once you reach the entrance you should take the jeep as private vehicles not allowed One jeep price 800/6 for six people. Outside food stalls available. Fully muddy area wear proper shoes and go. No washrooms or dressing rooms not available to change. Keep goes to a certain extended and 5 mint walk from there Good place to visit

Upon arriving at the waterfalls, I was immediately taken aback by the throngs of people gathered around. The sheer number of visitors made it challenging to find a quiet spot to immerse myself in the natural beauty and enjoy the tranquility that waterfalls usually offer. As I ventured closer to the waterfall, I found myself contending with leeches, an unfortunate downside to visiting certain natural environments. The presence of leeches added an element of discomfort and caution to the experience, as I had to be mindful of my steps and constantly check for any unwelcome hitchhikers. Adding to the mix of challenges was the off-road car drive initiated by local operators to reach the waterfall. the waterfall itself was an impressive sight. The cascading water and lush greenery created a picturesque setting, offering moments of awe and wonder amidst the chaos. I would recommend planning a visit during less crowded times to fully appreciate the waterfalls’ true charm and enjoy a more serene atmosphere. Additionally, taking precautions against leeches Nevertheless, with thoughtful planning and an understanding of the conditions, a visit to these waterfalls can still offer a memorable encounter with nature’s beauty.

To go to this place u have to use the Jeeps there because of that route, and as per the June 2023 they were charging 800Rs for coming and going In one jeep. No extra people can sit, only 5-6 in one jeep. This place is completely covered up in lush green Forest and there are leaches so cover ur legs well and be little away from plants as they will be hidden in these places. Water falls is beautiful by its nature and have no storage type of water, water continuously flows and you can experience maximum water below your knee level.

Named also as butter milk falla but got a different view of fall during monsoon. You have to go by jeep there so if you are planning during monsoons not recommended to go as it’s very risky . May be after monsoon it looks good .

Great view. Since these water falls are in private estate, public cars are not allowed. You need park your car somewhere near it's entrance and compete among other co travellers to get a jeep car. Competition will be very high 🤣. So way to reach this falls is much more adventurous. You need to travel around 4km of mud road on a zeep car, for which they usually charge 800rs per zeep up and down. The number of people per zeep can be 4-8 according to passengers comfort. So on an average the cost should be 100rs-200rs/person. Best time to visit- 10am - 4pm

It's about 3-4 km in, From the main road(there is a change room near the main road). You need to hire a jeep to get here. The jeep cost like 100 per head(up n down). The falls view is quite good, but there is not much water there, I don't recommend going there during monsoon, since the water gets muddy and the pathway gets really slippery. You can go in and play in the water since the water isn't deep.

It’s a beautiful 3 tier waterfall. There is a pool at the bottom where you can enjoy in water. The upper 2 layers are also accessible with ease but you need to exercise caution as the space is limited and the water pressure is high. Another point to keep in mind is that it’s a waterfall within a private property and thus you cannot trek or drive till the waterfall. From the main road there are jeeps from the estate which should be used at a cost. A must visit in Chikmagalur and enjoy the water to relax your body and mind.
