The entry is ₹10 . They have ample parking . There are restrictions to the dam. One can take a bus from inside to the viewing point on top of the hill, this bus service will cost your ₹20 per person. Around the dam there is a garden , a musical fountain that lights up at night , an aquarium, a children’s park and a mini zoo. There is a bit of walking to be done . If you don’t want to go to the viewing point one can always walk up to a level just above the dam which has a little garden and also a viewing area . We were there for the sunset and the view was quite beautiful. Photography is not allowed at the dam due to security reasons . There is ample parking place. The journey from Sandur to this place is around half an hour and an interesting place to visit. One would need around three hours of time to spend at this place.

Dam view is superb. Very lengthy Dam. Bus shuttle service is there but need wait for it. We can walk some 1kms to reach dam if bus not get. But worth it. There is a small park in the top of dam and another park at bottom of the dam. Good ambiance. Neatly maintained. Nice place at evening for relaxing. Food court also available near entrance .

The largest multi-purpose dam in Karnataka which is almost 70 years old situated in Vijayanagar District. It is a very nice place to spend a whole evening . Upon reaching the base/main entrance to the dam, we need to walk for about 15 mins to reach the viewpoint. Private vehicles are not allowed inside and need to be parked at the facility. There is an option to go by bus also with a nominal fee. SLR Camera is banned for safety. Multi colored evening lights are attached to the spillway and it is very beautiful to watch at night along with the sunset. It is visible even from the highways at night. A well maintained garden is attached near to the dams viewpoint and the other side is having fountains and a musical fountain will be open after 6.Entry fee is there for entering that part. Kids will surely enjoy. The place is popular, so slightly crowded as expected even during weekdays.

Go to this place only in the evening so you can enjoy the sunset and later musical fountain in the garden. The garden is miniature replica of Vrindavan Garden. Nicely designed and very well maintained place. From the parking, roughly 1.5 km walk to the dam. While coming you can enjoy boating. Yea stalls are their near the dam. The road and the walk is very pleasant in the evening.

(Translated by Google) Dam built on river Tungabhadra, view point of dam, statue of dam engineer, statue of Bharat Mata, restaurant, electric station, musical fountain, fishery breeding center, zoo, fishery, mahakali mother's temple, beautiful garden, beautiful garden. .. Combining multiple variations on a single dam ... Very beautiful effort. There is a bus system at the main gate of the dam. The main view point of the dam with a ticket of Rs. Bring it to Iyengar's Statue. Go ahead and get a ticket and enter the garden. All the sights mentioned above can be viewed on a single ticket basis. When we come down a few minutes, the bus from the front of Mataji's temple leads us to the main gate. Beautiful design ... beautiful planning ... The park is must watch place. I personally very much liked the garden, park and greenery. Everything was well maintained. You must surely see the places. The views are awesome and the garden is a great place for taking photos. A great place for family and friends. It has an small aquarium, garden and park, children's park, A small VR 9d( it costs around 100rupees for a seat ). There is a bus service from the bottom to go to the top. The view from there is breathtaking. We can't use vehicles inside. The best timing to visit the garden and park is in the evening (after 5:00)

Nice place to spend an evening with your dear ones. This is one of the biggest dams in Karnataka in terms of storage capacity. The attached garden is nicely maintained and offers a beautiful view. The dam view point is far away from the entry gate and one has to walk for around 10-15 mins to reach the view point. Buses are also available at a nominal rate to reach the sight seeing spot.

Couple of good places to watch at this dam. You can go by walk or take paid bus service using which you can stop at different points like top view , dam, garden, water show, aquarium. Good place to spend for 2-3 hours with family and friends.

A small aquarium and a small musical fountain is good for children's entertainment. There is a scope for making a better and bigger garden for which they can charge a small fee towards maintainance rather than frees entry like present.

One majestic DAM of all. It's one of the best marvelous spectacular and mega construction done on Earth. So massive layout and incredible flow of water to use for cultivate and farming. One must see and get awestruck for it's beauty. On a normal day it's a best picnic spot.

The Tungabhadra Dam and Garden is a popular place for people to visit in Hosapete and Hampi. It is located right next to the Highway and plenty of parking available. The entry fee is 10 per person. The distance to the park dam is around a km and 2.2 km to the lighthouse view point. There are a lot of activities to do here including boating, botanical gardens, view points and other activities. The dam is surrounded by hills where Windmills are present. Hydel power is also generated here. The water expanse is massive and the Sunset is visible till the Horizon.

Tungbhadra Dam Is very huge , From there you can see Wall of the dam and backwater of the tungbhadra river , Overall Nice view from here... Let's talk about Zoo, garden and aquarium well I say it's not in good condition So it's disappointed me , afterall it's my opinion. I can say visit for Dam because it's actually worth to visit it.There is light show also so u can visit there also .. The Tungabhadra Dam, also known as Pampa Sagar, is a water reservoir constructed across the Tungabhadra River in the city of Hosapete in Vijayanagara district, Karnataka, India. It is a multipurpose dam serving irrigation, electricity generation, flood control, etc. for the state. It is one of the only two non-cement dams in India, the other being the Mullaperiyar Dam in Kerala. The dam is built of surki mortar, a combination of mud and limestone, commonly used at the time of its construction.

Majestic Tungabhadra Dam: A Marvel of Engineering and Tranquil Oasis The Tungabhadra Dam stands as a testament to India's engineering prowess, and my recent visit left me awe-inspired. The colossal structure, also known as Pampa Sagar, not only serves essential functions like irrigation and electricity generation but also offers visitors a mesmerizing experience. From the dam's vantage point, the view of the imposing wall and the serene backwaters of the Tungabhadra River is nothing short of breathtaking. The vast expanse of water against the backdrop of the surrounding landscape creates a picturesque setting that's perfect for both nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. What truly sets the Tungabhadra Dam apart is its historical construction. Built with surki mortar, a blend of mud and limestone, it stands proudly as one of the only two non-cement dams in India. This nod to traditional construction methods adds a unique charm to the site, blending modern functionality with historical significance. During my visit, the evening light show added a magical touch to the experience. The illuminated dam, accompanied by informative narrations, showcased the engineering marvel and the importance of the dam in sustaining the region. It's an educational and visually stunning display that shouldn't be missed. While the dam steals the spotlight, the adjacent park complements the experience. The well-maintained surroundings offer a peaceful escape, providing an ideal spot for picnics or leisurely walks. However, I echo the sentiment about the condition of the zoo, garden, and aquarium being less than satisfactory. It's an aspect that could be improved to make the entire visitor experience even more enjoyable. In conclusion, a visit to the Tungabhadra Dam is an absolute must. Whether you're fascinated by engineering feats, appreciate natural beauty, or simply seek a tranquil escape, this destination caters to diverse interests. The blend of history, functionality, and scenic allure makes the Tungabhadra Dam a true gem. It's a place where modern engineering meets the timeless flow of the Tungabhadra River, creating an unforgettable experience for all who venture here.

It’s a beautiful and probably the second largest dam in Karnataka according to what I know. There are a lot of tourists walking in everyday. They have so many other activities other than just going to see the dam. There’s aquarium, exhibition, musical foundation show etc etc. Entry fee Is 20rs and there’s also feeder bus facility within the dam complex.

The surrounding gardens enhance the overall experience, providing a tranquil space for visitors to unwind and appreciate the charm of the landscape. Whether it's a leisurely stroll, a moment of reflection, or capturing scenic views, the gardens offer a perfect complement to the grandeur of the dam. Together, Tungabhadra Dam and its surrounding gardens form a harmonious destination, appealing to both nature enthusiasts and those interested in the engineering marvels that contribute to sustainable water management in the region.
