Great place, polite service, only downside for us is that dogs are allowed inside.

Fantastic quaint tearoom best suited for walkers. Usually very busy, and parking is nearly impossible. Fantastic old build, could use some TLC,. It a great cafe level food menu at affordable prices. Recommend trying it out.

A lovely walk around Rivington and Anglezarke followed by a great breakfast at The Village Green Tea Room! Perfect way to spend a Sunday morning.

Beautiful place, food served hot and very well cooked, delicious. Prices are brilliant, and the staff are so helpful, easy going, and make you feel welcome. Dog friendly too which I loved! Outside seating area lovely too, bonus on the scenery. Very tranquil, and recommended highly

This tea room is fantastic. Great atmosphere in there and 2 woodburners make it warm and comfy after a cold wet walk. The food is excellent too with a good choice. They’ve spent a lot of money on the Bowling Green tea room a short distance away but not letting dogs inside rules that out for us, as well as many others I know. You can’t go wrong feasting here. Very dog friendly too.

Four of us attended for the three course Christmas meal on 11th December. The food was piping hot and extremely delicious, no waiting around - it was served in a timely manner. We all really enjoyed it - so much so my mum wants to go twice next year! The staff were extremely welcoming and polite. We would definitely recommend you pay them a visit. Such good value for money. Looking forward to going again next year

Friendly staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. A real welcome for walkers, cyclists, dog walkers and horse riders. Can get busy at weekend, but have never had a problem to find a seat.

Have visited a few times and can honestly see why this has been voted the best tearooms in the north west. The location is beautiful with plenty of walking trails to do on the doorstep. The tea rooms itself has plenty of seating both indoors and out and is decorated beautifully giving a very warm, homely feel to it. The staff are just lovely, can tell this is a family run business. The food is amazing! Whether its a bacon butty or a big slice of cake you fancy. The sticky toffee with custard is to die for. Everything homemade and cooked to order. Tea and coffee are good quality. The tearooms are also dog friendly and well behaved dogs are allowed inside the tearooms, perfect if you've had a nice walk with your pooch and fancy a hot drink for you and a bowl of water for them. Cannot recommend this place highly enough, just wonderful and long may they continue to serve the people of Bolton ❤️🌟❤️

Cannot fault this place. We've just had the most delicious meal after a lovely walk. 3 x teas, 1 x americano, 2 x fish, chips & mushy peas with 2 x slices of bread and 2 x cakes all for under £30. Don't try driving, unless you park elsewhere, do try walking and you'll be rewarded. Yesterday we were in Middleton Town centre and we couldn't find anywhere to have a decent cuppa and cake. I must say every one of the cakes on offer here were head and shoulder better than any we saw yesterday. My chocolate dipped flapjack was like a paving slab! I would recommend this to anyone. Haute cuisine it isn't, delicious hearty, filling food in a wonderful atmosphere, it is!

We came as a group of 22 walkers / friends/ family . The food was delicious , all came out hot and together , we all had a fantastic time and would love to return again next year But think we’ll need to book early due to demand. Well done to all the lovely ladies who work there.

What an awesome place to visit. The thing that impressed me most, which you will see if you ever visit, are the staff. What a nicer bunch of people you couldn’t meet, and they love banter. Oh my word do they enjoy that. Go there, visit, spend lots of money on the awesome cakes.

A lovely place to visit. Fresh homemade food. Very reasonable prices. Friendly staff who are very happy to help you. Wonderful choice of cakes. A dog friendly place which is so nice to see. Fantastic value for money. I would definitely recommend a visit here for all of the family.

The cakes are delicious here and big pieces too. Value for money, as you will see from the photos, is second to none. Definitely worth a visit.

Just had thee most fab afternoon tea here For £11.95 the choice is so good. From quiche pork pie sausage roll sandwiches and a mini soup not to mention the cakes. Yum. Highly recommended, must book in advance though. Enjoy, your welcome. 😁

Had my first visit here this morning and was very happy with the whole experience. We had a full English and the veggie version and both thoroughly enjoyed the food. The full plate arrived quicker than expected and had been properly warmed through which meant the eggs didn't go cold quickly, like they can. There was fried bread, which I wasn't sure I would eat, but it was great. Perfectly done and not too greasy. I had a mug of orange juice instead of the tea/coffee which was a generous amount. And all that for £13 for us both! Looking forward to going again. Thank you.

Haven't been here for a few years but it's as good as ever. Full English for less than most cafes, served quickly despite being very busy. Hopefully return sooner next time.

Great, traditional cafe in a lovely location & making good use of a historic old building. Not fancy food but good whesome traditional food and done to perfection. Great atmosphere & friendly staff. Properly sums up what Lancashire is all about. Really good to see it busy too. 10/10

A great place to have a hot drink and something to eat especially in the colder months. With two real fire log burners to cheer you up. The food is delicious with a lot of home made food items on the menu. The tea room is dog friendly. So head for the tea room instead of the barns if you have a canning companion.

  • 4/5 Robbie T. 1 year ago on Google
A really great tea room with a lower price point. The hall is roomy and cosy in the winter with the 2x fires lit. The staff are friendly and the food selection is excellent with good quality, reasonably priced classics. It lacks a little finesse but you don't go here for that. Would recommend and will be regularly returning.

Yummy cake! Really popular tea room with plenty of table outside too. Will be back next time we're at Rivington

Busy tea room with good value- for-money food. Good choice of cakes but the sponge we had, although light, was on the dry side. Coffee was below average. Service was great and friendly. Aesthetically, building needs renovation without losing the rustic feel. Still love it though. 😍

Rivington Village Green Tea Room is situated behind the Chapel off the village green, and is ideally situated and purposed for the many visitors who visit the area to explore the many trails in this splendid countryside. The staff do a terrific cooked breakfast and the establishment provides good choice at eminently reasonable prices indoors and out. At time of visit the tea rooms were decorated with Union flags in anticipation of Queen Elizabeth ll's Jubilee celebrations.

I love this little gem, I always try to go here when I'm walking in the area. Lovely food in an old Chapel or schoolroom setting, prices not extortionate like they seem to be at the barn near the Go Ape area and a roaring fire to welcome any weary walker.

Great little tea rooms fantastic views of reservoir and surrounding areas food delicious, great staff and service. A good start for a good walk up to the Wellington bomber memorial site well worth a good walk with fantastic views.

Lovely but closed - 11th Dec 2020. Went walking to the pike but found all the cafes closed. The big banner on the green is gone. We were there from 11:00 to 14:00 and parked at the lower barn. The toilets were open. Thankfully we took a picnic and ate at the top but hoped we would get a drink at the end of the walk.

Much improved decor following a recent refurb. Feels much brighter and airy. Food is as before, basic cafe fare. Low prices, fast and very friendly service. Very welcome after a damp Autumn walk.

Lovely as always. If you want peace and quiet it's not the venue for you. If you walk, cycle and /or have a dog, and enjoy a good cuppa, and home made food...its great. Staff are lovely.
