Wow wow wow, what a place the atmosphere of the place is so so good. This is our first time since moving here and it's definitely not going to be the last. Firstly the staff are so friendly, they can't do enough for you. Secondly the food, the missus had the halloumi fries and lasagne and I had theeeeee best steak and ale pie, packed with a full cow I think thirdly the cocktails are just toooooooooooo good, which brings me onto to the outside seating area what a stunning location looking out across the fields, it really is like being on holiday thanks guys, next time we bring the dog

Amazing little English country pub, great food, great service and super friendly owner with fast and friendly staff. The rooms were lovely and the outdoor beer garden was huge and very well maintained. All the staff made sure we had everything we needed and were very accommodating. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone. We will be back for sure.

What a gem, friendly welcoming staff, the lady who cleaned our room went over and above as we were getting ready for a wedding and she needed access, nothing was to much trouble for her. Although over a pub, it was quiet, we had a large sunny room. We were there 2nights, and will return when in the area. X

I chose this place as a place to rest my head after attending a concert in the area. Upon arrival the place was locked up, a staff member who couldn't get in called the manager to tell him we were outside. He said he had called to let us know the pub/restaurant was closed as he was having some work done but the rooms were still open. I hadn't received any messages or missed calls. Despite that, the room was very clean, and well presented. All the usual, refreshments were there and some shower mini's. There were also a couple of pots of porridge for breakfast which was a nice touch as the restaurant was closed. The place was very reasonably priced. I would stay there again if I was in the area and would look forward to the pub/restaurant being open as the pictures looked good. I would probably request a room at the rear of the building as the traffic on the main road to the front was very loud.

When I arrived i was quickly shown to my room, when looking around the room was very clean and included toiletries, tea coffee, towels etc with a shower ensuite.. the staff and locals were incredibly friendly especially the guy who was serving behind the bar. The view from the room was incredible and the place itself had a peaceful feel to it with a beer garden with avaliable shade to enjoy the views, I was able to take food and drink to the room as long as I didn't spill it ;), although the pub does seem in the countryside it is 10 min drive from chorley railways Station which was perfect for going to the concert I went to, when the pub is shut at night the rooms are accessible with a secure door via some stairs on the outside, the room keys have a fob provided to be able to open it. After waking i wasn't full of aches and pains which i sometimes get from sleeping in a different bed with my bad back and i did actually struggle to pull myself out of it, all i can say is thank god for the 11am check out time. My only concern is for a single room I was charged £40, for what was provided as well as the service I would of happily paid more

Overall the atmosphere was good, the food was good, the service was a little slow but the staff were extremely friendly. Had blackpudding starter, this was very good and the blackpudding was better than I've had at other places. I had the lamb shank for main, this was excellent, cooked perfectly and the mash with mint was really well done. The one minor thing was the apple crumble; the crumble had a strong taste and smell of burn and had black burned pieces. The rest of the crumble was great but this really took away from it.

Recently stayed here for one night, what a little gem. Clean, homely with attentive service. Nothing was too much trouble for Chris and his amazing staff. We booked evening dinner which didn't disappoint. My husband rated the breakfast as 5 star, beautifully presented served with "proper coffee" We will be visiting again soon, just to have the comforts of home but with no work (result) Should point out that we would have gladly stayed another night but unfortunately for us they were fully booked. Look forward to meeting up with the lovely Chris and his team very soon.

Fabulous 3 course lunch for £16.95. Generous portions and a fantastic selection of dishes. They offer something different as well as traditional. Lovely and cozy with a real fire. Friendly, attentive staff. Our new favourite restaurant.

Wonderful atmosphere, lovely staff, food was great. Portions were perfect. All set against the gentle Lancashire countryside. Menu looks a bit slim prepared to what you'd expect from a pub, but the quality of your meal really benefits from it. An absolute treat of a pub/restaurant, and I can't wait to go back.

A lucky find as the previous pub we called at had a 45 min wait for food. The interior of the pub creates a lovely ambiance relaxing and welcoming to be honest we were taken by suprise as the exterior didn’t give the impression that it would be as classy as it was. Our food from the lunch menu delicious, generous portion size, hot and well presented (tuna jacket and scampi). The staff were friendly, helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble - so nice to see people that enjoy their work. It was only when leaving that we saw the gorgeous beer garden. Highly recommend a visit here

We had great expectations for breakfast after usually frequenting 'Spoons' but disappointed with very pale bacon and sausage (sent back but not much better when it came back) oh and overcooked poached egg - the fried ones were good. Must say the very large half mushroom was best thing on the plate as it was delicious. Not the best start to our Sunday and will give it a miss in future
