👍 Very limited space book to be safe. Only ordered apple crumble and custard and didn't like it. Wasn't any crumble and also had cinnamon in which I don't like. Coffee not hot and not very nice. People often mention lovely, staff, afternoon, friendly, nice, delicious, service,

A group of five of us visited for afternoon tea for a much longed for meet up. The staff were bright and welcoming, offering to take photos and accommodating our different dietary needs. The tea itself was lovely, fresh and varied and there was a choice of any non- alcoholic drink from menu which is quite unusual (normally just tea or coffee) Some of group had travelled from Manchester, Chester and The Lakes and commented on what good value the tea was. A great experience; thank you Village Tea Room!

We enjoyed the food and service. Toilets were not easily accessible, we felt stairway was suitable for those less able.

The lady taking our order was a little curt to begin with. The mains nice can't complain about them however the scones awful!! Dry, hard, stale! Even cream and jam didn't help nearly snapped the knife trying to cut it then it fell to bits like sand. Truly disgusting Then the biscuit I bought for my daughter was over baked and rock hard. Very disappointed and won't be back. Cost nearly £40 for 3 people.

2nd visit here, and it ticked all the boxes, very friendly staff - yummy breakfast and lovely atmosphere. Don't forget to take a couple of slices of cake home. 😋

The best afternoon tea I've ever had! Every bite was delicious from start to finish. The staff were fantastic and very accommodating with our last minute sandwich change request. I can't wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu 😋

A lovely cafe with a brilliant staff. We had a wonderful time having afternoon tea upstairs for a baby shower.

Had a lovely lunch with family. Service was excellent and the staff very friendly which is refreshing. Nothing too much bother. Food was delicious and catered for gluten free. Highly recommend and as very popular worth booking at peak times to avoid being disappointed.

Had a lovely latte sat outside with our greyhound. Small dogs are welcome, but he does take a lot of room up. Coffee really nice.

My first visit, with friend who loves this little gem of a place. Beautiful homemade mushroom soup, with huge filled sandwich (mine with smoked salmin/cream cheese) on brown bloomer bread. Great efficient/friendly service. Loved it!

This is a very unfriendly cafe to humans and dogs. Allows dogs no bigger than a sausage dog. We have a small Cockerpoo and was made to feel very uncomfortable. Either allow dogs or not. I have been before with a Cavalier King Charles and put in the cellar. Get a grip half of homes today have a dog and the majority or well behaved.

Absolutely lovely! From start to finish, the staff were lovely and friendly. The food was fresh, well presented and delicious. Even better we went on a Sunday, after a brisk walk to The Singing Ringing Tree and were delighted the place was open. Super friendly, good value, we will 100% go back. A brilliant little find.

Hi We had afternoon tea. All 5 stars as service was exceptional the food/drink was amazing. My family enjoyed it. The 1st time I had visited and I would go back. Highly recommended. The tearoom is really nice and with the view of the clock tower. Why don't you try it like me and I am sure you will enjoy. Oh a the staff are young they were very hospitable and pleasant.

Excellent afternoon tea - takeaway with a large selection of different items, and dietary requirements catered for very well. All ordered and collected in an extremely easy and Covid secure manner. Would highly recommend.

Came here as a table of 10 for a baby shower and couldn’t fault it. We got afternoon tea which came out in great presentation, every element was delicious. The staff were all friendly and attentive and they even did us some lovely pink icing on the cakes for the baby girl! The venue is lovely with so many cute things for sale. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Lovely place. The coffee and the cakes were nice. Unfortunately, we couldn't use their Wi-Fi.

Wanted to like it but was disappointed Tuna sandwich had tasteless mozzarella cheese and came on white bread when ordered brown. Egg on toast.. eggs were hard> Chicken sandwich better.

Very slow service, came back 3 times to ask what our order was again. We was sitting downstairs and it seemed like they forgot about us. The sandwich were nice and the milkshake was a big hit with my daughter.

We tried this Tearoom yesterday and were very impressed. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and attentive. The menu choice is great with breakfast items being served all day. The cakes are the best we have ever tasted. We can highly recommend the chocolate and vanilla cake and the scones with jam and cream. They do cakes and savouries to take away which are great value. We can’t wait to return and work our way through the menu. It’s in the perfect spot when walking along the canal at Wheelton.

Lovely tea room, managed to fit us in even though we hadn't booked. Had a brew and a scone which was lovely. For three drinks and three cakes the price was good as well. We will visit again to try lunch as the table next us was ordering their choices and it sounded very good.

A delicious Afternoon Tea, the staff were lovely and looked after us so well. Highly recommended. We went because we were given a voucher for Christmas, a great idea for a gift and I intend to do the same for family.
