Chief Minister Narendra Modi will launch a massive forestry campaign, christened ‘Vave Gujarat', on July 31, 2011 from the foothills of the famous Pavagadh-Champaner world heritage site to mark the 62nd Van Mahotsav. Encouraged by the success of ‘Vanche Gujarat' to instill the habit of reading among Gujaratis, Gujarat Government is launching ‘Vave Gujarat' drive, government spokespersons-ministers Jay Narayan Vyas and Saurabh Patel said here today. Giving details of the campaign, the ministers said the plan is to sow total 9.80-crore saplings on 13,200 ha of land during the monsoon across the state, being supplied through 430 permanent nurseries and 4,140 decentralized nurseries, besides 250 temporary nurseries started in the urban areas and 500 in the rural areas. The event assumes significance owing to the United Nations is celebrating 2011 as the International Year of Forestry. It will begin with sowing 9,660 saplings of over 30 types of tress on 6.5 ha of land, near Jepura-Champaner Bypass near the Pavagadh Mahakali Shaktipeeth. It is named ‘Virasat Van' (meaning heritage forest), under seven sub-heads ‘Aradhya', ‘Arogya', ‘Ajivika', ‘Anand', ‘Sanskritik;, ‘Nisarg' and ‘Jaivik' Vans.

Water parks have grown in popularity since their introduction in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The United States has the largest and most concentrated water park market, with over 1,000 water parks and dozens of new parks opening each year.

It's the mandir of Maa AdhyaShakti.... Shri Chamunda Maa..... It also has mandir if Shri Meldi maa & Veer maharaj. Maa Mahakalika & Shri batuk Bhairav dada and Kaal Bhairav dada.... The importance of this place is here Chamunda mataji has made the mountain by just pinch of soil and then later rested here by sitting on the top of the mountain as these were the orders received from the Mahadev.... After defeating the Demon at Sunda parvat....now called Sunda Chamunda....

Its name Chotila hill is the holy place of Maa Chamunda temple. The temple is on a hill and one has to climb the hill to reach it. There is also a small temple of Maa Chamunda for those pilgrims who cannot climb the hill. Chotila Dungar is situated on Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway. Parking is available at the base and rooms to stay are also available. The climbing stairs are sheltered so that the hill can be climbed in any season. About 600+ stairs to climb up and its quite steep. It takes about 20-25 minutes to reach the top. A very large number of people gather on Purnima. It is a good place to visit and also for a day religious picnic. It is also in a vast space and a very holy place.

Amazing view while climbing 620 stairs while nature view u won't even realize that you climb 1173ft height. Photography is not allowed inside the temple so I only share exterior pictures of temple. Good facility of drinking water, shoes and for senior citizen too.

A place of blessings and peace.. a wonderful temple of goddess. Once feels relaxed and blessed after visiting here.. Good parking place . Good amenities like a small park, nice canteen and food facility at reasonable prices. One can also climb approximately 700 steps to be blessed with another temple which is on top of the small mountain. Way to the peak is safe and properly maintained.

It is a temple of Chotila Maa and there is no point in giving a review about the temple. It is a symbol of faith, but the temple which is the temple of Mataji is very clean, yes there is little parking and other facilities due to being in the village. Facilities are few but it is all a matter of faith.

Chotila was known as Chotgadh in ancient times. It was originally a holding of the Sodha Parmars but was seized from Jagsio Parmar by the Khachar Kathis who made it one of their principal seats. Most of the Khachar Kathis trace their origin to the Chotila house. Chotila was acquired by the Kathis in 1566 AD. Chotila is a Hindu temple town and Taluka headquarters of Chotila Taluka, Surendranagar district, located near Rajkot, Gujarat, India. The Chamund or Chotila hill which is surmounted by the temple of Chamunda is 1173 feet in height. The temple is reached by climbing 620 steps. The temple is open for devotees from 5 am to 5:30 pm.

Divinity, peace and calmness is the feeling when you reach the top of the hill, and enter the goddess temple. Goddess is situated on the top of small hill, which will take less than hour/ 45 mins to climb (depending on the person). Enter the temple and you can feel presence of the divine power, a peace in your heart and mind. Climb to the top of the hill is not difficult and is well covered by the shades if you are climbing in the noon. Tap drinking Water was available while climbing and on top too. A religious temple of hindu goddess. They say that after evening no one stays on the hill and everyone including priest comes down - and it is said that wild animals visit the temple including tiger or lions. I cant confirm that though.

It is also in large space and very pious place. It is named Chotila hill is a holly place of Temple of MAA CHAMUNDA. The temple is on the hill and one have to climb the hill to reach there. A small Temple of Maa Chamunda is also there at taleti(base) for those pilgrims who can to climb the hill. Chotila hill is on the highway of Ahmedabad -Rajkot. This is a Good Garden to surf in, developed by Forest department of Surendranagar . This is a lesser known place by tourists visiting Chotila , Chamunda mataji mandir because it is not highlighted by the authority and hence it is still Clean and well maintained otherwise most of the Chotila visitors from all over Gujarat are uneducated people's who are generating lots of waste in their visit of popular tempal here , these people has made this Tempat around area a very big Dustbin.

In ancient times, Chotila was referred to as Chotgadh. Presently, it is a Hindu temple town and serves as the Taluka headquarters of Chotila Taluka in the Surendranagar district, located near Rajkot, Gujarat, India. The Chamund or Chotila hill, which stands at 1173 feet, is home to the Chamunda temple, and requires climbing 620 steps to reach it. The temple is open to devotees from 5 am to 5:30 pm. In addition, there is a small temple of Maa Chamunda for those who cannot climb the hill. For those who require assistance reaching the temple, Doli systems are available. These systems were recently introduced, and I am not sure about the charges. The government has provided several amenities for pilgrims. A shade has been installed over the stairs leading to the temple, which is especially useful during noon timings. It provides protection from the harsh sunlight in any weather condition, including monsoons. Additionally, parking facilities are available. The view from the top of the hill is stunning 😍 #chotila #devi #chamundadevi

Chotila is a small town having population of around 20,000 people and is a taluka head quarter of Surendranagar district, Gujarat. The Mataji temple is situated at the top of the Chotila Mountain. Chotila Mountain is around 1250 feet high and is located around 40 miles away from Rajkot, and around 50 miles away from Ahmedabad. Famous Hindi film actress Dimpal Kapadia was born in Chotila. She is elder daughter of Chotila’s Gujarati entrepreneur Chunnibhai Kapadia and his wife Betty. When her daughter twinkle Khanna(now married to famous Hindi film hero Akshay Kumar) visited Ahmedabad some years back, she specially visited Chotila and paid her visit to Chamunda temple on the hill. Saurashtra’s most celebrated writer, author, poet, journalist, freedom fighter late Zaverchand Meghani was also born here in Chotila. House in which Zaverchand Meghani born was in neglected condition till recent time, but some people have started to preserve it now. The story is when Demons Chand and Mund came to conquer Devi Mahakali and in the fight that ensues, the Devi cut their heads and presented these to Maa Ambika, who in turn told Mahakali that will be worshipped as Chamunda Devi.
