#nzmustdo Saved and still being preserved after Christchurch earthquakes. Amazing architecture. Great for photos and events. We went to an event at the great hall and it was beautiful. Fantastic to dance and enjoy whisky at a Stramash. Been to venue before earthquakes and thrilled to return.

Didn't have too long to explore and originally wouldn't have had bc half of the back all looked to be under renovation, but thanks to the nice toilets inside haha I got to have a peak around! Big old place for sure with lots of shops inside the front outside looks very nice at least too! So long and expansive

Have not been here for many years. It is sad to see the damage from earthquakes. But still a nice place to visit.

Its a beautiful architecture of relatively ancient times. It was old Canterbury collage/University of Canterbury. It has a room where Ernest Rutherford conducted his experiments and the room is named ‘Rutherford’s Den’. The place now belongs to a school and is also a Arts Centre.

Interesting exhibits and shops in several of the buildings. The stories of the quake and renovation process are very interesting. Fun places to wander around and good cafe options as well.

We went to Lumiere Theater 🎥 in the arts centre. Our favourite movie venue.Saw Living on Friday and Barry Lyndon today. We love the surroundings and Nick and his Team are awesome.

Amazing architecture and near fully restored following the earthquake. Fabulous exhibitions and heritage to browse, slightly outside the city centre but only a short walk.

There's galleries, cinema, boutique retailers, artisan eateries bars, various events throughout the year. Something for everyone. Outside seating area at the cafes also available

The architecture is beautiful but investment is needed to bring it back to its former glory. We saw the contemporary sculpture show- was great to see many of the pieces sold.

The sketch of the house in the sky is part of the photo. It wasn't added digitally. It is suspended in the air with wires.

Under some extensive repair after earthquakes etc but it still retains it's vibe, great spot on a good day.

Interesting place to spend a couple of hours browsing different artwork or just admire the architecture. A few buildings are still being repaired as of Sep 2019. Hope to come back for a visit once the building works are completed.

Sad to see a scale down a bit. Atmosphere also less festive with fewer local tourists. Hope that the city cheer up a bit the next time we visit and not lost the charm.
