The Toby Carvery Hinton, Christchurch is a great place for a carvery which was delicious, with a wide variety of different meats, vegetables and gravies. The Yorkshire Puddings were huge and really amazing (I could have eaten two!). The staff were extremely helpful, entertaining and friendly and the decor very relaxing. There was ample seating inside as well as outside the restaurant. Although we hadn't made a reservation, I think it may be prudent to do so, however, we were seated with no problem. If you enjoy a good roast meal, a lovely old style and very clean place to dine, I would highly recommend it. I'm sure I shall be visiting again and next time have one of their amazing desserts. Host was exceptionally helpful as it was our first time at TC. The food from the menu was delicious and served quickly. Pricing is fantastic! Definitely recommend and will go again. Inside and outside seating available. Clean modern toilets. Generous parking available for free on site.

We stopped here on the way to the coast for an early breakfast, £4.99 each (30 for four including juice and coffee ). We didn't have high hopes as it is a common chain but the breakfast was superb, everything you could want served quickly and easily with friendly staff, the food was fresh, recently cooked and to a high standard. Teenagers went back for seconds and we got much more than we could expect for less than a fiver Highly recommended for an all you can eat breakfast, not fine dining of course but of its type - one of the best.

We arrived mid afternoon and was escorted to a table and given menus. After a few minutes of settling in we were asked what we would like to drink. We ordered our drinks and decided that we would have the pigs in blankets and the roast. The food was excellent and of a high quality with a good choice of vegetables. I polished off my meal with a 2nd pint. The staff were very good and not over zealous, it was fairly quiet. We have been to this venue several times and it never disappoints.

Visited on my daughter's birthday. Very enjoyable. We were well looked after by Dan who even sang "Happy Birthday" to her. Also the bubbly Mario who came along and sang it again! They were both a joy to be served by and the food was great too.

The chef cutting the meat was nice and chatty. The meat was really tasty. Even the beef was really good. The mashed potato was awful. It was dried out and full of the horrible black bits from the potatoes. The ruffled potatoes were anything but ruffled but the rest of it was amazing and still really enjoyed our visit.

I booked a table on the 50% off Toby Carvery offer they do every now and then on a Mon - Thurs. This is always a popular deal and such great value! There were people queuing outside, as far as the carpark to get in. The staff were polite, friendly, remained calm and coped very well under the pressure of a very busy time. The carvery was excellent, very tasty with a good selection of vegetables. Well done to all the staff 👏. Definitely worth a visit.

Best carvery we've eaten out for a long time. The customer service was excellent from the moment we arrived. The greeter was friendly and organised, the waitress was attentive but full marks go to the "carver" he was cheerful and interactive. Thanks so much for a great experience.

The atmosphere was light hearted, with nearly all the tables full with people talking or eating their lunch. The staff were available but kept back and the whole lunch was joyful I would like to mention the carver, a young woman, blond who dealt with the service quickly, quietly and efficiently. Her carvery service was the best I have seen and queues just disappeared. I have been visiting Tobies over 20 years and see men carver wilt and disappear around the back for a couple of minutes, this young lady was the best I've seen.

I went for the king-size but plain sausages not pigs in blankets as stated & only 1 Yorkshire pudding not an extra 1 as stated. Not a negative merely pointing it out. The meal was delicious as always & more meat on the plate was welcome.

Excellent food at good prices, excellent service and a nice place to be. We were able to take our dog into the bar area to eat which was great.

Excellent service and very pleasant friendly staff. Food exceptional, too full after roast dinner and very pleasant waitress said we could take home a dessert. She brought it to us all packed up so we could enjoy it later. This was a birthday surprise for my partner to which he enjoyed so thankyou for the lovely experience. Food was just fine. Table server was very good and even had special little treats for our children as they did well and finished their dinner! Treats were apparently supplied by him and NOT by Toby Carvery. This was a very nice touch and really motivated our kids to eat their dinner. This should perhaps be a Toby policy instead of relying on the good thinking and generosity of the table staff? Only bad thing to comment on was the overall cleanliness of the tables which we could see were a bit sticky in places. Also the gents toilet needs a good freshening up with a lick of paint and new toilet seats!

Very busy location so unless you want to eat outside or in the bar I suggest you book online. Food tasty with good selection of meat and veg. Staff friendly and helpful. Car park small with tight spaces

Seated straight away. Lovely Mario was our waiter. Ordered carvery. Was lovely but not much veg. Lots of different potatoes though 🤔

Really enjoyed our meal there yesterday, excellent choice of 5 meats, nice selection of hot vegetables. Lovely staff member, advised on all the allergies, especially for my partner who has a few allergies. Have not been there for many years, but the local carveries were fully booked.

Was so impressed here. Excellent staff, genuinely seem happy to see you. Decided to go for the all you can eat Breakfast. Good value and was very suprised by the quality of the food. Love the fact you can have a Yorkshire pudding with your breakfast, sounds weird but it definitely works!! Overall very impressed with this Toby Carvery😃 It’s definitely the best one I have been to. Best Toby carvery I have had for a long time. We were a party of 7 and all agreed it was very good. Food was excellent. Really good choice of vegetables etc. Service was also excellent. Mario who served us, has served us a number of times in the past and is always gracious, personable and polite. Thank you

What a Fabulous evening myself and four of my my friends and family had. We were seated and served by a lovely Italian gentleman called Mario, His enthusiasm and joy was infectious and really made our evening. He was very attentive and made sure our lovely roast dinner was ok. After our meal we were offered a varied range of deserts and coffee. Unfortunately we were in a rush so did not get a chance to try them the table next to us did have them and they looked beautiful. Overall it was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend.

My friends and I have been lunching here on a weekly basis, and also breakfasting, for several months and today was one of the busiest I have seen, with diners arriving every few minutes, and the level of service provided by the staff from supervisor Alex to server for our table section Kim, was admirable in the circumstances, with vacated tables instantly cleared and immediately re-occupied with great efficiency. The food was as enjoyable as always, and Kim provided us with our requirements with her usual good nature and speed. This is a very well run and desirable establishment as observed on countless visits and I hope will remain so for as long as I am able to enjoy it.

The food was really good, the staff were fantastic. I was a little taken back if I'm honest when we asked for the bill and I was handed the card machine, on the screen is said 'Enter tip amount'. I thought that was rude, it did not give me the option to leave a tip or to decline, I felt I was forced to leave a tip. I run my own business, if I gave my clients the card machine with that message I don't think that would go down too well.

Kim is an absolute legend! She works like a trooper and helps anyone and everyone out from what we see! Great service all the time and always smiley! The carver Luke was a lovely young charming lad also. Great toby family at this location! As well as always great food!

The reception lady (Blonde) was very fierce about taking out reservation, a little bit unkind and grumpy if wise to say (cos the app only able to book for 6 maximum and we were 4 adults and 3 children). But once inside and seating, Mario was very helpful and kind, attentive, he even sing for us! Many thanks to Mario and the chef(s)

Would be nice if toast was available behind the counter and you collected at the same time you got your breakfast. Because...... If you queue for toast then its cold by the time you queue for your breakfast. If you queue for breakfast its cold by the time you queue for your toast..... This is why it got 4 stars. Also one more item would be nice......fried bread. Lovely clean place and staff very helpful.

The food was very good, great choice of veg. Very good service. Only one issue, the brussels were hard, we noticed a lot of people around us also left there's. Flip side the potatoes were awesome

Like the choice of the Carvery. Was good to come back after a break of a few years. Wonderful to see Mario again who continues to be so helpful and efficient. One of our friends who came also remembered him. So good to see a friendly face.

Nice environment, staff were friendly and food a good quality. As you'd expect in the current climate the meat portions seemed reduced but I never go to a Toby expecting there to be much meat. Good for vegetarians though!

Decent food and a good range. Service from the staff is ok, the main issue with the carvery can be other diners who can be very impatient when you are with children. I don't appreciate tutting when my son wants me to put some more vegetables on his plate. Unfortunately there is nothing Toby Carvery can do about the manners of other people so it is perhaps harsh of me to have this complaint but it does spoil lunch somewhat. Also, I think there must have been a problem with the air conditioning when we went as it was uncomfortably hot in the restaurant.

The best carvery I have had in a long time. 4 different meats to choose from, a good selection of veg. Friendly staff especially the guy who looked after our table of 9 nothing was too much trouble for him. We will be coming again next month.

Fancied a roast dinner whilst on holiday in Christchurch. The place was fully booked by 12.00 pm. We hadn't booked but the bar manager explained how we could order at the bar. Very busy but food was very good. Recommended.

Service excellent despite being busy. Carvery was lovely. We were a large birthday party but they were happy to cater for us. We were a little rowdy but our server Conner took it well and was very professional. Thank you

We use this particular toby carvery at least twice a year because of its location and fantastic service. We were a party of 10 and were all served beautifully and within minutes of each other aside from a small snaffle over drinks where one of our party had ordered something that was out of stock and we had to chase it down in order to receive an alternative but a minor inconvenience in regards to the overall experience. We shall continue to return to our favourite setting.

The chef is fabulous - chatty and funny! There were plenty of fresh vegetables and extras which were hot and tasty. The waitress appeared attentive to start and then became annoying and gave the impression we were being hurried. We carried on chatting until we were ready to leave.

I go here nearly every Wednesday for dinner and have never had any issues. Food is nicely cooked and hot, service is quick and efficient. Alana has been serving me the last few weeks and has been amazing.

Had a lovely carvery here. The place was pretty busy, but we we're seated quickly, and service was prompt. The food was lovely and hot. Other similar places we have been to the food has been warm or cold. The desserts we're great. Very child friendly and vegetarian or vegan options as well. Clean and tidy, so overall a very pleasant experience. We will be back.

Great Toby restaurant. We went at lunchtime and had a choice of 4 different meats. 4 different potato dishes lots of choices for vegetables and macaroni cheese! Help yourself to as much vegetables as you want you can even get seconds if you aren't full! Lovely desserts too. Staff friendly and very clean restaurant

It was a very enjoyable experience visiting the Toby Carvery Hinton. I must give a special mention to our waiter Mario he was superb and at the top of his game gave excellent service and made you feel at ease. The Chef that was serving the Carvery was brilliant also giving every customer the time of day and not just passing the time of day, I wish he wore a name badge so I could take his name, he gave the best service I have ever had at a Toby Carvery.

We used the Over,'60s voucher and thought this was very good value. We are already planning to go again before the end of May. If this offer were repeated, we would lunch here more often as we love a carvery! All the staff were very pleasant and helpful, despite it being very busy, and the portions of meat were good.

Just been for a carvery and it was such a good evening, I just had to leave a review. We arrived and instantly shown to our our table. We were then greeted by Alana who was our waitress for the evening. She was so happy and welcoming, got our drinks for us straight away and then also checked back on us that everything was ok with our meal - which was absolutely lovely. Although very full the maitre de found a small table for us at 4pm. We went at the right time! Constant stream of customers. Plenty of food on the carvery with fresh vegetables and juicy meats...4 joints to choose from. Staff very helpful, polite and friendly. Well worth visiting.
