great flavorful food with ample parking! we arrived a few minutes after they opened on a sunday and we’re promptly seated. you could tell they were ramping up for a busy morning as a few people stopped in for online order pickup and takeout orders. we ordered calamansi mint juice which was delicious. we also ordered the chicken and waffles as well as the pork trio. both dishes were portioned large and very well seasoned. highly recommended for mexican filipino fusion on familiar breakfast and brunch options. the kitchen is fairly open air to the seating so be mindful that your clothes may smell if you decide to dine-in.

This place is a delicious option for breakfast and brunch in the South Bay! Chula Vista’s breakfast scene is pretty dominated by suburban chain restaurants, but this is a gem. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and made to order. It’s not the fastest, but it’s well worth it for piping hot, fresh breakfast potatoes. The Mexipino Hash Plate has got a little bit of everything on it: tidbits of every kind of breakfast meat among the two cultures represented in the menu here. They toss a smattering of black beans and garlic rice onto it all, which was a delightful surprise. The whole entree was topped with a 1/4 of a sliced avocado (and we didn’t even have to pay extra for it!). The veggie scramble is also quite good, and probably the most generous in terms of all the mix-ins of any restaurant scramble I’ve had. Caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, and more avocado, with a huge side of potatoes and pan de sal toast. I’d come again just for that toasted pan de sal! Highly recommend.

I took my family out for brunch today… I found this unassuming little awesome restaurant MEXIPINO yes, just like the name suggests it’s a great cross between Mexican and Philippine food. We enjoyed the food (large portions) greatly and the service was exceptional as well. Definitely found a treasure to visit again and again.

This whole place is a disappointment. The woman taking orders was rude. She got the orders wrong even after having to repeat them a couple times. Restaurant apparently has no AC. I ordered the Mexipino hash and instead got a plate of chips with egg on top. The pork trio scramble was minuscule. Also worth mentioning we got all our food in Togo containers while all reviews show food coming in skillets and plates.

TLDR: if you see a female server leave the building immediately; other then that it’s an amazing spot who needs more traffic their food is unique, tasty and worth any travel through the area. Very very good local place in Chula Vista. I’d recommend getting the fried chick adobo waffles they are to die for; all the servers I’ve had were above and beyond even bringing water without being asked (awesome!). Although my most recent visit left a sour taste in my mouth with a female server regrettably I’ve never seen her there before maybe a new hirer or someone that’s I haven’t personally seen. She was not being accommodating, gave a judgmental glare and not acknowledging my table after serving us the whole time there. while there was another group they were a group of 3 with no other patrons in the building near close. She gave me and my group a bad vibe and as well as coming off as snobby or purposeful agitated getting one of our orders wrong in the process flagging her down to fix the problem was a hassle. while we only asked for 5 items including drinks Being difficult to flag down is understandable when overloaded but it was just my group and another group a total of two tables this was just to get our check. she never glanced or checked in with us but did with the other group. The only words exchanged were about what we wanted to order and the check she still was being difficult the whole time until we were about to pay she then gave us the first smile during our checkout throughout the whole of the 3 interactions. Hopefully it was just nerves or something but I’ve only had that experience in the middle of no where while traveling in Oregon. The saving grace I swear is the food I would have rated the place a 3 just because of the female servers interaction…or lack of

Love the concept and the food was tasty. Went for weekend brunch with my mom and it was not too busy, but it did take longer than ideal for the food to arrive. Other than that, everything was great. Food came hot and full of flavor. Mom had the chicken and waffles which were really good and I had a potato hash kind of thing and the spuds we're perfectly crispy on the outside - both were enough for us to make two meals out of. Def worth a stop if you're in the area. Easy strip mall parking.

We arrive on a Sunday about half an hour before they were closing... I know so bad of us! We have been to other restaurants where if we arrive near their closing time, they're kind of rude or they tell us it's only to go service, etc. There was none of that here! Although the restaurant was empty of guests and all clean ready to close... we were welcomed and greeted very cheerfully. We has a seat and ordered food and beverages. The food was served quickly. Everything was very well prepared and very well seasoned. Very much recommended, we will be coming back here soon!

Legit. I can't describe it any other way. It's not just that the food is a creative blend of Filipino and Mexican. The quality of the food is fantastic. I had the Mexipino griddle plate and the mix of the longaniza and ube with the potatoes and eggs was perfect. I can't wait to go back!

Just know that the pancakes are big enough to share, the photo doesnt do it enough justice! Very nice ambiance inside the restaurant. The eaiter was extremely professional, attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. The food was amazing to say the least, like i said generous portions on just about everything. Definitely would recommend for brunch or even an outing with coworkers, friends, family.

Would not recommend I used to be a loyal customer here until they had a sewage back up with black water. They called the company that I worked for to clean it up, and we came out and saw that the sewage had mostly dried and stuck inside the walls and floor. They didn't want to pay to fix it, so they decided to just wait until it was fully dry and never called us again. I would never support a restaurant that cooks food and lets people walk on waste water.

Everything I have had here has been amazing! If you are looking for something a little different but familiar at the same time this is a great place to go. Great fusion of cultures with the Mexican and Filipino influences.

We ordered the Milanesa and eggs, the Pork Trio, Mexipino fries and the ube pancake. Everything was delicious and the ube pancake is a big one that we shared. Will definitely come back here to try other items.
