A little gray and dark inside. The workers are fast and efficient if you bring in all the right documents. I went in for my real id. I highly recommend filling out an application you can online and submit your documents online and then set up an appointment so your process can be in and out. I did all the above and was in and out within an hour. It’s a little small the place but it serves its purpose.

Overall, very good customer service. In fact, the line for service was short and waiting for your ticket to be called wasn't long either. The service rep was respectful and knowledgeable. Answered all my questions. The only drawback are the restrooms are a little dirty, but they have a hand washing/sanitation station by the exit.

Insanely long line here but every worker I interacted with was friendly and helpful. One was nice enough to let me know that Mon & Fri are the busiest with the 1st two hours of the day being the worst. In and out in about an he. "Loved it" might be too strong for any DMV lol, but all the processes seamed streamlined and the lines moved fast despite initial appearances.

Had appointment for RealID. Checked in, waited five to 10 minutes. Went to the window. Jennifer processed the paperwork efficiently and with a friendly disposition. It seemed like a fun place to work. Went to get my photo taken. The gentleman was handling two customers at a time and helping all of us smile and feel at ease. Line had 6 people in it and my picture was complete in less than five minutes. It is apparent to me that processes have been improved and employees enjoy their work.

The employee that was supposed to do my paper work forgot to take my picture! After more than 3 weeks of waiting , I called the DMV and just told just that .The employee was so incompetent and with not the best customer service attitude to say the least. I had surgery in my leg recently and it’s hard to walk , what to speak of going to a place full of cramped people that doesn’t follow social distance, during Omicron, when easily could have been done a month ago if I had the luck of finding a competent worker inside that place.

Get here early! The staff came out 20 minutes early to begin a check in process and assign you a number. But once the doors open it was a quick experience! Total time from calling my number, completing and paying for my Real ID, taking a photo, and getting a temporary ID was 35 minutes. The staff was very helpful and complete transactions in a quick amount of time.

Had an appointment and didn't get out until 45 minutes later. What good was an appointment when the people who didn't have appointments were taken care of before my apartment time and I was 15 minutes early but the lady made the people with disabilities and appointments to wait while she took in around 10 people from the no appointment group. Not enough sitting for people with standing problems.

We got here on a Thursday around 4:25pm. There was a lil line out the door but once we got in, the front desk person was not helpful at all. She said we had to go online to get some code for a replacement ID. She didn’t tell us we had to create an account or answer questions. And the other person at the front desk was like a time keeper telling everyone we only had a certain amount of time. Which was kind of helpful. But by the time we did get a code for the ID we were 1 min too late. She said “ they took our tablets from us, you have to come back tomorrow “. Unbelievable!!! This is not how I remember getting a replacement ID. We had all of our paperwork filled out but that didn’t matter. So if your coming here for a replacement anything make sure you go online first create your account answer all the questions and get your code then come into THIS DMV to get it done. I don’t know if all the DMV’s are doing this but the last time I got a drivers license at a different location it definitely wasn’t like this. So be prepared and come at least an hour and half before closing to make sure you can get it done. Oh and they really weren’t that helpful with the creating an account process either so Good luck…

Because of one mistake, the exam employee, my wife failed, only a minor mistake, and there is no need for her to fail. The employee really had no experience even in driving. My wife trained for more than two months, and she trained every day for the exam, but the employee's decision was not good. On today's date 6/21/2023, at 2: 30

If I could give zero stars I would! Absolutely worst DMV in San Diego. The First Lady was absolutely horrible. She had so much attitude and even rolled her eyes at me. She was going to send me away with little to no information on the forms/paperwork I needed to get my title. Even after I stood in a line for an hour just to get into the building! She then told me she would send me to the back so I can argue with someone else… I wasn’t arguing with her. She was telling me I have my title when I have never had it. I sell cars for a living I know what a title is and looks like. then I got to the second lady who didn’t greet me or give me any eye contact. I explained my complex title situation she at least gave me the information I needed to get this solved however her customer service skills were also horrible. Little to no eye contact and was making weird annoyed faces the entire time. Her face gestures were very uncomfortable to watch. I also watched her give attitude to the guy ahead of me. If you don’t like your jobs and you are so miserable WORK SOME WHERE ELSE! You guys are here to serve the public. Disgraceful behavior.

The rudest employees on the planet. I'm sure some are great, but the reception and photo folks need training. Condescending is the only word for their behavior. I'm sure it's a tough job, but some quality customer service and personality management training would go a long way in creating a more cooperative environment. They shouldn't be treating people like children just because they can. Update: It only got worse as I waited. They can do better. They NEED some customer service training. If they need signs at every service window to remind people that threatening their employees is against the law , it's likely NOT the customer that has a problem. Update 2: The ladies at the service windows were great. They get 5 stars.

...I appreciate the work they do here, and some of the staff are patient and helpful... But some particularly in the testing area 2/24/22- 2/25/22 are unnecessarily rude condescending, and project a tremendous amount of stress toward even the most polite person. Again, I will emphasize that there are genuinely helpful staff and I appreciate the hard work they do. But some of the people here need some time off, they are overworked and it shows...

Tiffany is so rude … she gave a kid a candy and then snatched it back because the kid was to shy to speak and say thank you . The poor kid left crying .. and when I tried to explain to her that some kids are shy or can have autism or be introverts she said she didn’t care and it was none of my business. Really sad to see a grown adult throw a tantrum like that.

Make an appointment to reduce your wait times by 2-3 hours less. You will still wait a bit, but better than that long. Staff clearly hate their job and don't care enough, so be prepare for some gnarly personalities.

I was there on 8-17-2023. I was a walk in looking for registration assistance. I was B107. When I first started waiting they were on B082. Every body is working hard and fast with a wide variety of situations from the customers. From the check in lady to the man, Fernando. I had a chance to observe the testing area as well as the picture area. They all did GREAT!!!! THANK YOU

The lady at the window that helped me was extremely rude. I know that every time you go to the DMV you will get a rude employee, but this one went overboard. I was respectful the whole time and when I asked her a last question, she turned her back and kept on walking away. The whole time giving me attitude and being rude. The only person who was helpful and was respectful was the DMV investigations officer. He was able to get me to the right person and answered all my questions.

Such a different DMV compared to years ago! Every staff member I had contact with was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. I can't speak for Every day, but today's line/wait was quick (about 15 minutes) and I didn't have an appointment! Good job Chula Vista DMV!

The wait to get inside was not long. I needed a new license and had to reapply. I also needed a new photo. The whole thing took two hours. They were calling numbers to help people very quickly.

Got there at 9:30am, small line for non-appt customers but numbers were called very quickly... Only had to wait 30 mins until I was helped.

Easy parking. I had an appointment for Renewal/RealID so checking in was a breeze. I was in and out of there within 35 minutes. Friendly staff at this location. If you need to do Real-ID, just do online application and upload everything. Then website will give you a code, then just go to DMV and stand in Appointment line. It's very quick.

Of course DMV will never get FIVE stars. But at least this time I could tell they have spent some funds on updating the process. One terminal to enter your own info for license renewal. Another at the window to verify everything is correct. Saves the trees. I would have been able to do the first part at home but the system would not allow me to double verify myself since it insisted to text or call my cell # which was my old #. When I first got there around 11am on a Monday, I couldn't believe the line was so short.

Long line but it went by faster than I expected. Korina was friendly and patient even when I had to keep going back and forth between her, my insurance and the kiosk.

I had a place in line when I arrived so the wait wasn't too bad. Everyone was kind and helpful, the lady who processed my :payment, the lady who took my picture and the lady who set me up for the knowledge test. I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly they were.

DMV has changed for the better. I would waste a whole day there. Today I was there about 1 and a half hours, that is a big difference. And the staff was pleasant too. Wow 👌. Great job to whoever is responsible for those changes.

The receptionist was so professional. She was so helpful. This might have been the best experience I've had at the dmv. She helped me with multiple things. She was personable and polite. She went above and beyond what her job called for. Her name is Bryana A. Thank you again for your service.
