***This a repost because they decided to remove my original review. Funeral director Mike Castro is a LIAR!!! As I stated in my original review It took him 2 months to get the death certificates, why because he didnt respond to the out of state funeral home after multiple request on how to order them (which we discussed with him when we created the plan, they were suppose arrive with my fathers body), and when finally I got ahold of him he blamed the out of state funeral home. He said they were slow when it was the total opposite and that funeral home had the email receipts to prove it. The out of state funeral director said she also had a hard time with Mike because of his lack of communication. And I will keep on posting this review every time they take it down! *** At first it all seem good we chose this place because we thought it was nice but it quickly went bad. Starting with Michael ‘Mike’ Castro the funeral director, he failed to book a priest with 3 weeks in advance for the services and didn’t let us know till the day of, he was not there for the services he ‘had to go’ he was not there at the the burial he ‘had another service to tend to’ so he sent it a sub. And the cherry on top is that he failed to order the death certificates for 2 months!!! We had to chase him call and leave messages for him which he never replied, would not give us updates as he was receiving them. Losing a father has been hard enough and you would think these people who deal with death on a daily basis would understand. He was terribly unprofessional blaming everyone for his mistakes, not once did he apologize. They will gladly take your tens of thousand of dollars but fail miserably at executing a plan that you carefully put together with them. Do NOT have him as your funeral director. I would just go to a different place all together.

Mike Castro Represented Funeraria Del Angel in the most professional way. He did an amazing job taking care of every details to have a great turn out for my mothers Funeral Service. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing such a great job.

My wife and I had to take the lead to prepare the services for my Dad who suddenly passed away in March. This was the first time we had ever done this and the staff at Funeraria del Angel were fantastic. Our first meeting included Leslie, the director, who helped transfer my parents pre-paid plans from another mortuary which was our biggest concern. She alleviated any worries that whatever arrangements my parents had with the other company would be honored and there was zero pressure to change anything. We were assigned to Melanie who would manage our affairs. She was a blessing. She had to coordinate the viewing, church, and burial. That last one was the sticky part as my Dad, a veteran, was to be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery and they would only coordinate with mortuary not the family. Factor in all the million questions on flowers, reception, motor escort, caskets...She was completely patient, quick to respond, and most importantly compassionate in dealing with us as we tried to plan while suffering through our grief. Special kudos also to Charlotte on the big day. She was the representative who made sure everything ran smoothly at the church, the motorcade procession to Miramar where she was actually the driver of the hearse, and the graveside ceremony. Again, compassionate and professional. There were many other staff that we encountered through this process and all treated us the same no matter what the interaction was. Thank you Funereria Del Angel for helping us through this difficult moment and for creating a wonderful celebration for my Dad.

It took me amore than a week to find a person to contact me. To expensive. Make me wait almost a month for services. They asume I knew things, and that slowed the process. Waited 3 weeks to have the death certificate. The Services and Burial where perfect. The personal who helped us was very nice. Installations ready and on time. Anabella was fantastic she went a mile extra to satisfy my needs. So did Vanessa Estrada and the other Vanessa. Thank you girls. You are the best. 👌🏼👏👏👏. A very empathetic team . I appreciate that.

Not a very good experience right from the beginning. I gave the Funeraria details about our love one as soon as he passed. They got wrong information and never cared to call us back to correct it. I found out after two days when I called to see how everything was going. The day that I met the person that was going to explain everything I noticed it was a very young woman about 19 or 20 years of age. She there also got wrong I formation about our family names and she also booked our service for the same day as two other services. She didn’t tell us until two weeks later after we hade made plans and informed our friends and family. They forced us to move days or location. The day of the service our memorial brochures were incorrect. They were able to correct them there and print them out. When we receiver our loved one’s Memory book again, it had a lot of wrong names and it was was in English and Spanish. The manager Rosana at that time said she would help us and not to worry, but after a week she quit answering my calls, text messages and emails. When I call to talk to someone else they informed me that she was no longer working at that site. She should had been courteous and at least let me know that she was no longer working there. Until today I had not received my corrected memory book . Painful and upsetting experience with this Funeraria del Angel

I had a big loss. The loss of my mother. I got a service package in 2016 which was honored and even exited my expectations. The staff is not only empathetic, but also understanding, caring and attentive to our needs. My mother was transported to Mexico after the funeral services in Chula Vista, the staff followed up at all time ensuring I was inform every step taken. My family and I are very satisfied with the service provided. I have a package foe my self already to ensure that my children do not have to worry making these hard decisions. I highly recommend the great caring customer service done by Sandra and the Funeraria del Ángel staff. Thank you!

Sandra went and beyond making it easy for us to coordinate my father in laws funeral yesterday. Evangeline, was also, very helpful setting up and accommodating making sure we are taking care off. I cannot thank you enough Funeraria del Angel for you help. Jeff

Del Angel provided a unique and professionalism in how they helped us with the celebration of life services. The funeral services was well coordinated and our guests were treated with dignity and respect. Overall, it was a good service even with the given circumstances with my wife’s death.

I'm not sure where to start to say enough great things about the services at Funeraria del Angel. Sandra and her staff have been so supportive and caring in covering every step of the way through a difficult time. They were very thorough and professional to make sure you didn't have to worry about the extra burden of the all the procedures during the funeral services. Sandra maintains very close communication and guidance to cover every facet during an emotional and trying time and treats you very much like family. I could not imagine going anywhere else for any type of funeral services and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I have nothing but high praise and sincerest gratitude to Sandra and her staff at Funeraria del Angel for helping our family honor the memory of our beloved mother. Our family recently suffered a loss and Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey did an amazing job helping the family through the funeral process. Leslie Martinez was an angel sent from Heaven. My father pass away on the weekend of Fourth of July in a car accident in Tijuana Baja California . Leslie help us by answering any questions, contacting us with their sister funeral home in Tijuana Funeraria Fundadores . Leslie answer messages and send us information on different times even the Fourth of July Leslie answer and help us with information and setting everything to bring our dad back to San Diego. What can I say the viewing was so special. Charlotte was so helpful, kind and understanding another angel sent from above. Just attended a workshop on cemetery/funeral services. I never realized how important it is to plan ahead for everything, and all that’s necessary to make sure it all goes smoothly and quickly. I would definitely recommend anyone attend and be ready just in case.

I bought the same package for my Mom and my Dad. My Dad passed away 5 years ago, and I was very impressed with the service: the staff at Del Angel Humphrey were super professional, kind, and helpful . However, the service for my Mom 3 months ago was totally different with a new staff. It was a tremendous dissatisfaction. They were not helpful and they themselves were confused in reviewing the contract , they changed their mind all the times. We ended up paying extra for the service but extra money meant less and very poor services. I hope this review helps Del Angel Humphrey to retrain their staff in order to get back the reputation that Del Angel Humphrey had.

Sandra Peña helped my family in 2005 with services for my grandfather and recently with my grandmothers service. In the most difficult times she was a blessing. Her professionalism, kindness, empathy, tactfulness and experience made all the difficulties disappear. My family is forever grateful to Sandra and everyone at Funeraria Del Angel Chula Vista for all of their compassion and help to make the funeral service for my grandmother a beautiful experience.

After going through a hard situation and time, at funeraria del angel Chula Vista made everything so much easier and kept me informed with everything that was going on. Michael Castro and everyone at Funeraria El Angel were the most respectful and caring at the most tragic time of my family's life with the loss of my mom. Michael was always attentive and no matter what question I had he was there with a quick and thoughtful answer. My family and I will be forever grateful for everything. Losing a loved one is not easy and I do not wish such pain to others. It’s something that only the person who is going through would understand. I would like to thank Funeraria del Ángel for their great help and support during this difficult times. It was and still is very hard having lost our Mom, even though she left all pre-arranged, Funeraria del Ángel was there to help with all the final preparations. They came on time to pick her up after passing, we got Michael Castro helping us with all the paperwork. He did such a great job that we had to do very little. Her death certificates were ready in a timely manner. We had a beautiful memorial service. The girls Yanela and Ariana ser all up for the memorial and was just outstanding. The floral arrangement we really love. Father Dermon Rogers officiated the ceremony and it was bilingual, just great. Like I said at the beginning I don’t wish this on anyone but if you ever need their service, call this guys! They will be there for you….

Sandra and her team offered exceptional service while we were going through a difficult time of my dad’s passing. Sandra was attentive of our needs and kept my brother and I in the loop throughout the entire process. We knew we were in great hands and I would highly recommend them.

Our family recently lost our father, Manuel Vazquez, on August 12, 2022. We were very impressed with the service and attention we received. We felt the empathy and respect of every person we dealt with at the Funeraria Del Angel as they interacted with as we dealt with our father‘s death. We were amazed at how every detail was never a bother or a problem and how they handled our request with the utmost professionalism from all the staff, from the front desk to the management level. Our parents chose wisely to use the Funeraria del Angel for cremation services and we would recommend them to other families.

I'd like to share that my experience Sandra and Funeraria del Angel was well above my expectations. We set up our appointment for my brother and I to meet with Sandra and arrange for the disposition of our mom. The team was helpful and considerate without being overly attentive or fawning. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to do, and well they offered options and choices, I never felt pressured to spend more money or do something I wasn't comfortable doing. They helped to handle all of the transportation requirements, the cremation requirements and also the reporting requirements requirements. Help me get the very necessary death certificates death certificates and explained how the whole process works. A help me understand where every dollar was going.They were calm clear and friendly. When I finally went to pick up the cremaine's, I was blessed to see the urn on a pedestal in their chapel. So respectful and thoughtful of us as well as honoring and respecting the deceased. They help to take a very difficult moment in our lives And make it somewhat of a blessing. Thank you Sandra and your team of compassionate, capable professionals!!!!

My family and I have only great things to say about the staff at Del Angel Chula Vista. Rosemary tended to our family needs helping us to prepare services with the utmost compassion and understanding, as well as providing the best services for our beloved dad. Services were also arranged for our mom here just a couple of years ago and also had the best experience then as well. We highly recommend you and your facility to everyone.
