If you are a fan of flavorful Indian food, run, don't walk to this new business in East Hyde Park. My mouth is still buzzing from the zingy samosa. We ordered the following: 1 TIKKA MASALA w/ Chicken $16.95 Spicy Level-1 1 KASHMIRI NAAN $4.95 1 SAG PANIR $15.95 Spicy Level-1 2 MANGO LASSI $7.90 1 SAMOSA VEGETABLE (TWO) $4.95 1 MULLIGATWANY SOUP $3.25 Overall, each item was delicious. I have sometimes found that Spice Level 1 can lead to fairly flavorless food, and anything Level 2 or above leads to complaints from the littles. Viva India threaded the needle of cooking food flavorful enough for the grownups while being mild enough for the kids. Overall, the meal was delicious, and fairly affordable for a family of 5.

My husband and I had dinner at Viva India tonight and I am writing this review to tell people to come to this restaurant because we want it to stay! The food was absolutely the BEST Indian food I've ever had and that includes any of the restaurants in Clifton and Oakley. This was a gourmet meal at the same prices as those other restaurants. The service was excellent and the dinner was served on stylish dishes and bowls, rather than those metal bowls used by all the other Indian restaurants. There was also plenty to take home. We started off with vegetable samosas that were delicious, served with chutneys in small bowls rather than the dirty looking jars that are used over and over. I ordered Tandoori chicken with spinach and my husband ordered chicken biryani. He likes his food extra spicy and let's just say he was happy. Viva India is a restaurant located on Erie Avenue that has housed a number a restaurants in the last several years--all of which closed within a few months of opening. Everyone in Oakley, Hyde Park East, Hyde Park, Madisonville, and all around town, please come to Viva India so that they have enough customers to stay open. We want this wonderful taste treat in our neighborhood.

Viva India offers a delightful fusion of flavors in a modern setting. The highlight of my experience was undoubtedly the food, which came in portions large enough to share. The attentive and friendly staff added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. They were well-versed in the menu and offered insightful suggestions. Whether you're a fan of traditional Indian dishes or looking to explore new flavors, Viva India in Hyde Park is a must-visit.

We loved Viva! We ordered a wide variety of dishes and enjoyed each of them, and sharing them with friends! The flavors were the star of the show! Environment and staff were great too! A picture of the wiped clean bowl with delicious Naan…forgot the pretty before pics because those smells just said “dig in”!

Walked to this new restaurant in our neighborhood. Our food was absolutely spectacular. Our vegetable samosa appetizer was flavorful by itself and the 3 accompanying sauces were delightful. Both of our entrees were excellent, served hot (temperature) and to our desired hotness (spice). We will definitely be coming back.

Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere and exceptionally good food. There are several good Indian restaurants in Cincinnati, but Viva India is without a doubt the best of the best. So glad they're nearby - I'll be a frequent guest.

Haven’t had success with Indian food in the past….until Viva. All dishes our group of friends tried were delicious. Service was excellent and we were given recommendations to accommodate our group. We’ll be back!

We stopped in today for lunch and were very pleased! We had the chicken pakora, Chana saag and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan and roti. Portion sizes were great and everything was delicious. The seasoning was amazing and great tomato flavor un the masala. We will be back!

This East Hyde Park Indian restaurant is a welcome presence at a location that has had many previous restaurants that didn’t last (Pasta Al Dente and a BBQ place to name two..originally it was the sight of the Saybrook Tavern, for anyoneein to r ithat). I think this place will be a round for a long time .Tiki Masala and the Saah are excellent dishes whether paired with with meat, Paneer, or channa. A dish I’ve never tried until I came here is the Karahi Tandoori Saag which was a real culinary surprise and pleasure. The Naan to perfection in the tandoori oven. The service is impeccable and Jyoti, whom patrons of Indian restaurants in the Hyde Park and Oakley area will remember, is a server and bartender here and is as friendly, professional and welcoming as she’s always been,. And it’s great that there’s a bar where you can catch up on things with her. Right now they’re serving beer and wine but in a couple of days they’ll have a fully stocked bar. A real gem.

This was the first time we ate here. It's in one of those locations you can easily pass by without seeing it; it's on Erie, just before Hyde Park Country Club. Anyway, the food was phenomenal. We started with the vegetable samosas and they were very tasty ; especially with the three chutneys. I had the Butter Chicken and my wife had the Vegetable Curry. We also had Garlic Naan. I could not have been more impressed. Plenty of food; even had some to bring home. Service was great too. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic Indian restaurant with creative menu! My server was Jesse (if I recall her name), and she was wonderfully attentive. The vegetarian portion of the menu had several offerings I haven't seen before, so I tried one. The vegetables were bright and fresh, served in very modern dishes and generous portions. Definitely a five star dining experience!

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday recently with work colleagues, the place was empty. Which is a shame because the food was fantastic. I hope they bring in a solid dinner crowd and our visit was just an anomaly. Everything we ordered was really good, and we got a ton of it. They kept bringing out naan and rice even as our table was swamped with entrees. Everyone spent roughly $15-20 and had at least enough leftovers to 1-2 more meals. If you like Indian food, check this place out. If you're unsure, just order Tandoori chicken.

We arrived at the restaurant on a weekday, 1.5 hours before closing time. I was looking for a new Indian restaurant in the area, and this one looked great based on the reviews. As I walked in, the smoke in the air hit me in the face. It was as if the ventilation was shut off or they didn't have one, and all the fumes lingered inside. About a third of the restaurant was full. As we walked in, the hostess said the wait for food will be longer than expected. I said it was fine, so we got seated. Ten minutes later, the waitress came back and took our drink order. Five minutes later, she brought our drinks and then said that they were actually closed and no longer serving. At this point, I was confused because Google said the restaurant didn't close for another hour yet. We were seated and then asked to order, which made zero sense. I left the restaurant and headed over to New Shaan Indian Restaurant, which was 5 minutes away. New Shaan actually felt authentic and food arrived at our table super quick even though they were packed. I hope that Viva India was just having a bad day with staffing because I would love to go back and try the food.

We have been waiting for Viva India to open, and it was worth the wait! We got veggie pakora and samosas along with mango lassi - everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. A new favorite!
