Happy to hear of a new Greek restaurant opening in the western suburbs and had to visit. Sorry to say it didn’t meet my discerning Greek palate. First, it was a Thursday evening around 6pm. Had a reservation for 2 and was seated quickly although it was very busy and noisy. Started with cocktails and cup of avgolemono soup which was watery and too lemony which overtook the flavor. My friend had the Greek salad which she said was tasteless. I had the Pastistio which was a very generous serving but overwhelmingly loaded with a very thick layer of bechamel, again dominating the dish. The side of Briami was excellent although too salty. My friend had the fried bakalao which was dry and overdone. She complained and sent it back. The manager graciously did not charge her for her meal. Aside from a disappointing meal, the service was quick and friendly. I’m aware that Thassos is receiving good reviews but I will not return and will continue to frequent my favorite, Greek Islands in Lombard, where I always have an authentic and excellent meal with great service.

We went there to celebrate a couple of birthdays and got a private room. All of us ordered very different dishes and everyone. Including myself, loved the food. The server was attentive but not annoying.

Excellent food and service!! Grilled octopus is hands down the BEST ON THE SOUTH SIDE!!! I WOULD GIVE TEN STARS IF I COULD!!!!! STRONGLY RECOMMEND!! Genuine Greek food in a fine dining atmosphere, equally comparable to Greek Town restaurants!

I cannot recommend Thassos enough! The service is stellar and the drinks and food are amazing and made with love! You can tell the owners of the restaurant really care that you have the best experience! If you’re looking for quality Greek food, and you’re reading this review, just do yourself a favor and make a reservation! You won’t be disappointed!

This is the place we take friends and family who are also foodies. We've been here twice and both times have been perfection for both service and food! Wine and beer selection are great, they make a perfect dirty martini. Saganaki, cold dip trio, and their fresh bread are great choices to start the meal. Their Moussaka is excellent, any of their lamb dishes will impress, and the Greek potatoes are perfectly seasoned. The only item I haven't been impressed with is their Salmon, compared to the flavors of other dishes, this lacked complexity. Looking forward to visiting again, and hopefully one of these times we'll have room to try their desserts. They just extended their outdoor seating area as well!

An excellent Greek restaurant! I was solo, so the bar worked. I had smelts, grilled octopus, Greek salad, & yogurt honey & nuts for dessert. Looking forward to trying one of several whole fish next time.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED MY EXPERIENCE AT THASSOS! 🎉 I recommend 10/10! I celebrated the completion of my master’s degree with about 50 guests, and the evening went wonderfully. Everyone, including the manager/owner (Nikos), were very attentive to my experience and ensured everyone was served according to their dietary needs/preferences. Things were done promptly, and my guests kept raving about the food — everything was delicious! Additionally, I really appreciated that they were willing to rearrange the space to accommodate my event. I was also allowed to bring decorations to the space, which really made it all that more special to me. At the end of the evening, the staff (specifically Natasha) were very kind to me and gifted me flowers — they exceeded all expectations. Thank you, Thassos. I will always remember this celebration! ❤️

Went here for the first time this week and the food was top notch, rivaling the quality of food in Greek town. The Saganaki was the best I've ever had. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our server Natasha was so helpful, gave us time and space when we needed it, and gave fantastic suggestions on food and drinks. She recommended some Greek wines that were so delicious that we wouldn't have tried if not for her.

Authentic Greek food! Great atmosphere. We loved everything and being Greeks ourselves we are a discerning crowd.

Food lacked in taste texture and flavor. Place is extremely loud and overcrowded. Took from 7:30 reservation to finally have dinner served right before 10 pm. We were too tired to enjoy it. Servers were too busy to even realized we were starving and haven't placed our orders. No apologies but the server had a bit of a demeanor saying that he saw us eating appetizers. Yes like 1.5 hours ago... not good for first impressions. Super disappointed in the whole entire experience...

Celebrated the holidays with a meal here for 6 of us and everyone loved their food. I got the whole sea bass and potatoes and it was delicious! We also had a white wine that everyone enjoyed (HATZIMICHALIS Sauvignon Blanc). Highly recommend the grilled octopus as an appetizer! Service was great as well!

New Greek Resturant for lunch!! Excellent authentic Greek food. Tzatziki, gyros, saganaki and grilled Octopus! Nice bar area, nice separate dining area. Perfect! Great wait staff. Will go again!

Thassos is better than the Greek restaurants in Chicago's Greek Town. The food here is delicious!!! I can't remember the last time I had such good Greek food. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is very nice. I will definitely be back.

This restaurant is the place to be. We went to try something different, and boy we were not disappointed. The service and food was absolutely phenomenal. The staff were friendly and so welcoming. Do yourself a favor and try some authentic Greek food that will blow your mind. I tried the spinach and beet salad with salmon. CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN AND TRY EVERYTHING ON THEIR MENU.

If you haven't been to Thassos yet I highly recommend you try it! The food was great, the restaurant is beautiful, but the service was beyond top notch!! Even with a large table, in a packed restaurant, on a holiday, our server never missed a beat. All around an amazing experience and wonderful evening!

Incredible food and fantastic menu.. The staff is awesome and friendly.. They have a bartender her name is Jubi who remembers every detail, always happy and so personable...They have nailed it! The best addition to Clarendon Hills. You HAVE to try it.

The food was delicious, the ribs were awesome! Natasha the server was perfect and the manager/owner checked on us several times. Can’t wait to go back!!

We went to Thassos 'last minute' on a Saturday night, never been there before. Really surprised about the size of this place, but with the different rooms and levels, it still feels comfortable. We had the stuffed pepper and tomato and the lamb fournou as entrees. Both were outstanding. And our waiter, Joe, absolutely fantastic. We will go back for sure.

Ordered carryout 2 days in a row. Day 1: Gyros Plate 10/10 amazing!! Probably the best gyros I've ever had. Tzatziki was incredible. Day 2: Beef and Pork Kabob 10/10. Everything including the veggies were cooked to perfection!! *can't wait to try the seafood and lamb dishes!

This was the best Greek food we've had in decades! And the ambience & service were great -- it felt like being in a fine seafood house. They served us a Greek Chardonnay that impressed my wine-connoisseur husband. We will be back to further explore the menu!

Great family dining options at Thassos Greek Restaurant. Main stay roasted favorites like chicken, lamb and many seafood options. The staff did a great job to accommodate our family gathering of fifty people with a select a la carte menu. Fresh bread, spanikopita, calamari, lemon chicken rice soup and a choice of chicken souvlaki or fried cod. The chicken was well grilled accompanied with rice and grilled potatoes. The fried fish came with skordalia a potatoes spread with plenty of garlic and lemon. Tasty, but not to mistake as a regular "whipped potato"... Baklava and rizogalo rounded out the desserts. Wine was flowing and so was the selection of beer. Try the Greek Mythos, a genuine imported lager. Great service, quick kitchen and bartenders.Thassos staff is very accommodating and can substitute ingredients if needed. Would definitely recommend Thassos for large parties or in need of a casual date night.

First time dining here and will not be the last. Lovely atmosphere, great service and excellent food. We had saganaki to start, fresh and mouthwatering. Avgolomeno soup was excellent - not overly thick and artificial like is served at some other restaurants . I had the Dolmades - the meat mixture was delicate and the sauce was perfect. My husband had the Moussaka which was huge and he said he'd never tasted better. We chose a different dessert other than our tried and true Baklava, a cinnamon custard type, which was a nice change. Would highly recommend this hidden gem in Clarendon Hills!

I’m so happy I found this place. I love seafood so we had the grilled octopus to start and I had the salmon as my main. Both were so fresh and absolutely delicious I would definitely recommend. Restaurant itself is clean and looks great. I’ll definitely be back!

The food was mediocre, the hostess was okay, the atmosphere was delightful. But, what made our night was our waitress Eirini! She was knowledgeable of the menu and entertaining, always with a smile on her face. If you happen to choose this restaurant for dinner I would definitely recommend that you request her as your waitress!

My family and I walked into this 💎 and was greeted like we were their own family. The servers (we had such a large group that they had two folks attending to us!) Great senses of humor, kind, and welcoming. My family is definitely not the easiest to handle - but they handled us with grace and understanding. So I thank them, personally, for treating us with such professionalism. Especially for my mother's birthday. 💜

Great service and friendly staff. Love the saganaki. The sea bream was amazing. These days, it's rare to see it deboned tableside. Although, one of the fish dishes had a lot of bones still in the fish.

Good was authentic, fresh and very tasty. Service was phenomenal. We sat for over three hours taking our time enjoying Greek appetizers, wines, cheeses and my main course, traditional Keftedes in red sauce was so good. I will definitely be back!

Our experience was nothing less than Awesome! Our service was uncomparable! Prompt, professional, personable! 5/5 Our meal was affordable, excellent, flavorful! 5/5 The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing! 5/5 It is very rare that I find a place that pleases on so many levels at a degree that truly is exceptional. Bonus points: Ample parking so no hassles, as well and very clean and spacious bathrooms are only an additional boost!

Clean restaurant with excellent service from both the waiter and helping staff. There was 12 of us and not one of us had a single complaint. The food was excellent honestly. $$$ on entree pricing but the quality of the dish was worth the price.

This is without a doubt the best Greek restaurant in the area. The cold octopus appetizer was delicious, as were the whole sardines. The whole red snapper and it was the best fish we have ever had, grilled to perfection with a lemon olive oil sauce. The owners and staff are amazing and knowledgeable. Any time we ask for food or wine recommendations we are not disappointed, and we feel taken care of. This is the restaurant we return to time and time again. It is comfortable and classic enough for a nice family dinner while being upscale enough for a romantic night out. Highly highly recommend.

I was excited to try this place because I love Greek chicken and of course saganaki. Well to start out the service was a little slow but not too bad. The saganaki was excellent. I had the Greek chicken breast and it was very dry. Almost wanted to send it back but I hate to do that so I ate half of it. For the price I expect better. My husband had the gyros and he wasn’t impressed. Probably will not go back.
