Renshaw
lounge:
French
onion
(image
included):
Given
the
college
atmosphere
and
close
proximity
to
royal
oak.
I
was
expecting
a
mediocre
French
onion
that
left
me
wanting
more.
Little
did
I
know
that
this
renshaw
staple
would
become
a
consideration
for
top
10
French
onions
of
the
year.
Croutons:
-
Appears
to
be
homemade.
Abnormal
shapes
which
provided
a
diverse
mouth
feel
that
keeps
you
indulged.
Could
reach
a
10
if
they
used
a
sourdough
or
some
other
type
of
artisan
bread.

Onions
-
turgid
yet
flaccid
at
the
same
time.
Couldn’t
ask
more.

Well
done
renshaw.
Beef
stock
-
good
flavor
but
the
saltiness
was
overpowering
and
was
distracting
from
the
true
flavor
of
this
stock.

The
Shawster:
While
this
is
not
the
traditional
turkey
Reuben
that
is
reviewed
on
this
page,
I
felt
obligated
to
order
this
sandwich
given
it’s
praises
from
the
locals.
The
bold
intricacy
of
the
corned
beef
and
coleslaw
provides
an
exquisite
combination
of
flavors
that
left
me
feeling
more
than
satisfied.
Bread
-
Crunchy
exterior
and
soft
interior.
A
must.
While
marbled
rye
was
used,
I’ve
had
better
and
the
bread
was
a
little
thin.

Corned
beef
-
While
not
the
sliced
turkey
that
I
typically
prefer,
the
corned
beef
was
a
nice
change
of
pace.
The
corned
beef
was
sliced
to
the
perfect
thickness
and
the
flavor
was
good.
It
should
be
noted,
however,
that
this
does
not
appear
to
be
a
homemade
corned
beef.
Unfortunately,
the
beef
was
also
dry
from
being
left
on
the
griddle
too
long.
Improvements
could
definitely
be
made.

Thousand
island
-
Wow,
just
wow.
I
am
speechless.
The
pickles
are
of
perfect
proportions
and
provide
acidity
to
a
sauce
that
otherwise
has
wonderful
viscosity.
I
really
wish
they
would
bottle
this
stuff.
Truly
amazing.

Pickle
-
Good
crunch.
The
flavor
is
nothing
to
rave
home
about.

Fries
-
Often
forgotten,
but
a
huge
component
to
the
Reuben
rating
system.
These
fries
present
an
audible
crunch
and
soft
interior
that
will
leave
any
fry
lover
marveling
at
the
topography
of
its
exterior.
If
only
the
seasoning
was
on
par.
The
lack
of
salt
and
possibly
other
seasonings
leaves
these
fried
potatoes
tasting
like
funnel
cakes.
A
true
bummer.
I
am
hopeful
that
this
is
not
the
norm,
but
ratings
must
be
given
based
on
what
was
provided
at
the
time.
