I had a fantastic experience at Whitey's Fish Camp. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience enjoyable from start to finish. The food quality was good, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly our orders were served without compromising on taste. The highlight for me was definitely the red beans and rice – a flavorful and delicious dish that added a unique touch to the overall dining experience. A great place to enjoy good food with excellent service!

Cool restaurant with great food! Lots of music memorabilia, gotta take the time to walk around and check it out. Live music is the icing on the cake!

On a Saturday night you pull into a very packed parking lot. And walk into a very packed lobby. The hostess is at the very end of the packed hallway of people that aren’t standing in line, just waiting for a table. Casual clothes and family atmosphere, the restaurant has outdoor seating and in the back there is a stage and some bar size pool tables. If your over 21 you can skip the long wait and sit at the first come first serve bar. But be prepared for a 50 min wait for your meal after ordering. Greeted by nice bartenders, we ordered drinks and food. I wasn’t impressed with plastic silverware and didn’t like all the food coming out at once, We ordered a dozen raw oysters, (which should have came out promptly, but didn’t) and gator tail lightly breaded with a side of ranch and a Greek salad add blackened salmon for $8. Food was good, if we had more time next time we would skip the salad and order the shrimp boil.

The food was great! I got the Louisiana Special that comes with different types of meat to choose from, red beans with rice and fried corn. I would've gotten the catfish instead of the shrimp but they only allowed the catfish to be grilled or steamed and I wanted fried. We sat on the back patio. It was cool watching people pull up on their boats with their dogs and grab a bite to eat. That is a plus that they are dog friendly on the patio area. I will definitely come here again.

One of my all time favorite places to eat when I go to Jacksonville. Whitey’s never disappoints. The shrimp boil is one of my favorite dishes, but everything is absolutely yummy. I love sitting outside by the water and watching the sunset. During the colder months they pull flaps down and use heaters. Love love love the music they have. Sometimes there is a music venue outside and when that ends, then the music venue inside cranks up. They have a full service bar and the staff is always friendly and accommodating! Will always come to this place when I am in town!! ♡ ♡

We had not been in awhile and thought we would go for my husband's BD since it was a place we went when we dated. It was just as good as always! We got the fish dip, fried onion petals and combo meals of fried Pollock, shrimp & scallops. All fresh and great quality.

We gave up on whiteys for a long time because the food was never up to par and there was absolutely terrible! We went back today only because we wanted some oysters and it was the only thing close. We ended up with a waitress named TK and she was the best waitress not only at whiteys but that I have had in a very long time. The food was on point, great presentation and delicious flavor. She catered to all of our needs. And we are a handful for a table to say the least! We will be back to see her for sure! Great job Whiteys for having her as an employee!

This place is popular for the area, and for good reason. The food is great, the service is great, the wall and ceiling decorations definitely catch your eye, and the location on the river is perfect. You definitely get a north Florida feel with the decor and the menu (salt and fresh water choices), and there are things for the non seafood eaters to order. I believe the have live bands on the weekends outside. You can park by car or by boat. I've been here several times and have not been disappointed. I'll definitely be back.

This place has a large outdoor seating area. If you want to sit outside next to the bar and listen to live music you can do that, or if you are with the kids you can still sit outside on the restaurant side. We enjoyed watching the sunset as we ate and walked the docks after dinner. The gator tail was good not chewy. Our server was a little annoyed with us as it was our first visit and had asked if the bar made a specific drink. Anyway, great atmosphere. The decorations are really cool inside and multiple fishtanks add to the atmosphere. 😃

Good food, nice atmosphere, and great service. I can see why this place has been around as an area destination for so long! I am not one for seafood in general, but really enjoyed my burger. My wife got the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. Top flight Long Island from the bar was a bit weak, but everything else was very good indeed. It can be busy, so plan accordingly!

Fun Place on the water. Had live music on the Friday evening I visited. There isn't much around to choose from but this is the place to be. It was busy but they have plenty of seating options. Service staff was extremely efficient with food coming in short order. Service is a must for a place this large and this busy and they made it look easy. Pros- large menu with great fish options. Plenty of options to satisfy those picky eaters. Plenty of seating - quick service- live music - on water Cons - Had 2 Bloody Mary's that were below average in my opinion. Rather weak (guess I should have ordered a double) and inconsistent. 1st drink - no salt on rim Plenty of olives 2nd drink - salt on the rum but zero olives. Even though I take the worst pictures, the drink looks more pink than it should be. The oysters were also lacking that attention to detail. They were shucked poorly and they didn't separate the oyster leading to that awkward moment where I attempt to do it with my fork trying my best to not shower those around me with oyster parts. Two of them still had the open part attached to the oyster. This would be resolved if they detached the oyster during the shucking process. I got a basket with plenty of crackers, lemon, and horseradish but no cocktail sauce, hot sauce etc. it did come with what I believed to be melted butter and that was good. Go here. The place is cool. But don't go with the oysters.

Service was a little slow but they were crowded and once we got our servers attention she made sure we were very well tended to. Food came out quick and I didn't know if I wanted to eat or run off and dance with the live band !! Gentle Florida breeze blowing across us ...you just couldn't ask for a more down to earth but not a shack mind of meal anywhere !!! Beats anything I've eaten here in Charleston SC and we love to brag on our seafood and steaks !! Gator bites alone make it worth it but everything is always just perfect.

Place has a lot of personality. Everything was fantastic right up until the black hair in my fried gator. Kinda lost my appetite after that. Everything else was perfect but I really dont know that I will go back and manage to eat without inspecting every bite.

Just had my son's rehearsal dinner at Whitey's. The food and service were great. The management was wonderful to work with and the servers were great at keeping things moving and everyone was taken care of. They all worked hard to make sure the event well. My wife and are very happy how it all turned out! I would recommend Whitey's for whatever event your planning!

My boyfriend and I came for dinner after a long afternoon out at the Ronnie Van Zant Memorial Park. We were hot, sweaty, and HUNGRY! I had done a little research and came across this gem. Let me rephrase..a treasure! Shocked I have never eaten here with my family through the years. The food was absolutely amazing. I felt like I was transported into another world. Almost Louisiana like. We sat out on the deck by the water. We ordered yummy shrimp cocktail with calamari for apps. For dinner I had ordered the New Orleans Special. Had this with fried cat fish. It was so delicious that I brought the rest of what was left of it home. The red beans and rice were killer. Above all wonderful food, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. Also the drinks were pretty dam good. For desert we had a yummy piece of Florida Cake. So spongy and soft. The icing sweet with some serious rich flavor. Will most definitely be coming back.

We love this place! First timers from out of town. We showed up after rush hour and had a little bit of trouble getting seated. Other than that, the entire meal was fantastic and Debbie the waitress was a hoot! The shrimp and grits was some of the best I've had. The Orange cake was just a tad dry but still delicious. Don't come to Northern Florida without eating here. It's that good.

Come hungry but with some patience! Their food is awesome, portions are huge but do be aware that they're an incredibly popular place with staffing issues so service may be a little slow. Have some patience, enjoy the atmosphere & give your overworked server a big tip! A note for the PWC crowd, head for the little beach inside the dock area! We beached our two SD GTX-130s and were seated in minutes. 👍 Pic: Loaded Chips

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is eat outside with friends. It's always an enjoyable experience to have a tasty meal and a cold drink in the sun. The food is always amazing, and so is the service, especially from Kelli. She is very professional, attentive, and fun. We look forward to going back soon.

We had a great time! We met friends and family for a late lunch on a Saturday and our service was great. Our party of 14+ was handled in the best way imaginable by Red. She was on top of everything and she somehow heard us with the music blasting right beside us! The view, the food, the live music, and the impeccable service made for a wonderful afternoon. Our portions were sized appropriately and the food exceeded our expectations! Would love to visit again.

Catfish basket and Blackened Mahi Tacos with fries and coleslaw. Excellent catfish, according to my Aunt Cherry. The fries and coleslaw are also delicious. The Mahi tacos, however, were hard, overcooked, and under seasoned. Servers experts but not there for a chat. Our server returned once to leave a fresh tea for the one I hadn't touched.

Loved eating at this place, always enjoy getting a spot on the water and feeding the catfish fries. Really enjoyed my gator bites, they went excellently with the gator sauce. The frozen margaritas gave me a brain freeze but otherwise, everything was great. Nice place to enjoy the water and some good food with my girlfriend. Got some bait from next door before I left too.

Had a great time staying here in my RV, within walking distance of the restaurant. Met up with family and friends for dinner, great service, great food, good time. The RV fit in the spot just fine, under some shade. Keep in mind this is a fish camp, not a fancy RV park. I would definitely stay again.

This place is great! Son and DIL brought me here for a celebratory lunch and so happy they did. Food was yummy and the atmosphere was fun! It was a midweek visit in the late afternoon so it was not busy at all. We were to early for the tiki bar we sat at a table on the dock. They have a lot of outdoor seating. Service was a little slow but not sure they had many people on staff considering the time of day we were there, she was friendly though. My DIL and myself had the deviled crab and my son had something with mahi, think it was a burger? Very delish!

We took our boat here for lunch, and it exceeded our expectations! Great drinks at affordable prices. We had the blackberry mango margarita, and it was tasty (not too sweet)! The kids loved the fried Pollock ( made it into a sandwich), and we loved the blackened catfish and grits. Sorry we didn't take a picture of the food..... Just the fact that we are every bite!!! Highly recommend!!!!!!!
