Silver
is
a
decent
lake
but
has
some
problems.
It's
barely
big
enough
for
recreation,
but
small
enough
that
the
wind
usually
doesn't
cause
too
many
issues.
Like
all
the
area
lakes
the
algae
makes
clarity
a
problem
in
the
summer,
and
I've
seen
blue-green
algae
blooms
some
years.
There
are
perch,
largemouth
bass,
sunnies,
northerns,
walleyes,
and
rough
fish.
All
are
small.
Catching
keepers
is
a
chore.
Of
all
the
fish
it
is
best
for
bass.
There
is
a
"beach"
on
the
northeast
shore,
north
of
the
boat
ramp.
it's
a
nice
shaded
grassy
area,
but
it
is
littered
with
cans,
cigarettess,
and
other
garbage
from
the
white
trash
that
hangs
out
there.
I've
never
had
a
problem
with
them,
but
I
would
never
want
my
wife
to
be
there
alone.
The
swimming
area
is
a
sandy/mucky
bottom
that
nicely
and
gradually
deepens.
The
boat
ramp
is
adequate.
There
is
plenty
of
parking
about
200
yards
north
of
the
ramp.
No
toilet.
The
lake
sees
a
lot
of
action
because
it
is
the
closest
lake
to
Fargo/Moorhead.
