My
16
year
old
daughter
presented
to
the
ED
with
a
broken
ankle
after
being
run
over
by
a
car
on
08/22/2023.
She
was
rating
her
pain
a
10.
The
woman
at
the
desk
was
very
rude
to
us
and
unhelpful
and
dismissive
although
we
never
complained
about
the
wait
or
made
any
fuss.
Meanwhile,
my
daughter
is
experiencing
intense
pain
from
the
fracture.
Cut
to
us
being
shepherded
into
a
room
in
ED
with
several
recliners
and
no
bed.
We
were
there
from
approximately
9
am
until
2pm
and
at
no
time
was
she
given
pain
medication.
I
appreciate
the
quickness
with
which
the
x-rays
were
taken
and
all
of
the
staff
behind
the
doors
were
doing
the
best
they
could
but
the
lack
of
pain
relief
for
my
daughter
was
traumatic
for
her.
The
doctor
himself
was
very
kind
and
was
able
to
get
her
a
referral
into
an
ortho
within
two
days,
I
also
appreciate
that.
He
did
also
prescribe
her
pain
medication
without
having
to
ask
him
for
it
but
it
wouldn't
submit
electronically
so
we
had
a
paper
prescription
for
a
narcotic
and,
if
you
don't
know
this,
pharmacies
will
often
not
accept
them.
If
there
was
another
emergency
department
to
visit
in
Cleveland,
I
would
have.
