We took a road trip to check this place out. I was able to reserve a table for 2 inside the safe, which was vey cool. Our server, Branden, was awesome! We did the five course tasting menu and it was very good. We also added a small portion of the spaghetti spaghetti, which was also amazing! I recommend trying their brown butter old fashioned if you like bourbon cocktails. They make the brown butter and infuse it with the bourbon in house. It did not disappoint! I would definitely go here again.

Ahhh what a disappointing place. Is this really one of the best in Cleveland? That’s a shame. Our experience started with the host texting for (I swear) 10 seconds before he greeted us. (10 seconds is a long time to stare at a restaurant host on his phone). The duck confit ravioli was good and everything else was so-so down to just BAD. Bad as in, had to return a round of entrees TWICE. I was excited that the scallops were part of the tasting menu until I took a bite. Evidently over cooked and tasted so salty and bitter. Ragu was bleh. Steak was terrible cut. Chocolate cake was so dry and maybe half frozen and idk what was going on with the other dessert - way too much going on. Ice in cocktail could have been better. Am I asking too much for a $300 meal for two? When you pay that much for food, if you prefer quantity over quality, I guess you might like it. I guess the 1 star is for the dividers between tables and the birthday candle - appreciated those.

Simply put, this is one of my favorite restaurants in the Cleveland area, or Northeast Ohio for that matter. Their cocktails are awesome, the wine selections are fantastic. And the food does not disappoint. In fact, some bites will leave you speechless. 🫢 I highly recommend going with the five course dinner with wine pairing. And then just buckle in, and go for the ride of your life. 😊 Lastly, the service is second to none. 🏆

We had a wonderful meal for our anniversary! Delicious scallops and steak as our main meal after mussels for our appy. Scott did an amazing job as our server! We even got a glass of Prosecco as our treat for our anniversary. The banana hazelnut mousse was so tasty for our dessert!

I have gone there twice now, all within a week. Both times were AMAZING! This is by far my new favorite spot to eat. One of the 3 pasta dishes are a MUST seeing as they make the noodles and sauce from scratch! They have a snack size portion for $8, an app for $18 and a meal for $27. The steaks tho... that is what I came there for! First time I came i got the ribeye with beef short rib shredded on top. Ooooh my goodness. Needless to say I ate my entire plate. 2nd trip-me and my father got the 38 oz steak for two for $99. Sooo happy with this decision. The steak was huge! They slice it for you before bringing it to the table. They even bring it out and show it to you before they cut it. The steak was Very flavourful and perfectly cooked. If you saved room for dessert I highly recommend getting the 3 course dessert option for $18 You pick out your three dessert. I HIGHLY recommend this place! Fabulous

First, we arrived 15 mins early and waited outside, which we offered to, then the hostess did not recognize us and very clearly gave away our reservation. We were positioned in the corner by the server station. Traffic was high and the constant clash of dishes was hard to hear over. This place definitely pushed its capacity limits. We were obviously added on the edge of the room. All of that could have been overlooked, however our server did not once ask us how our food was, if we needed refills and did not even provide spoons for the liquid pasta which was being shared as an appetizer. Other servers offered to fill the water and asked if we needed drink refills. We felt compelled to tip in order to not deprive the kitchen staff of their tipout part. We paid $150CDN for this meal and it was pasta and a steak (that had mushrooms my boyfriend asked to not be included). NOT WORTH IT.

This place is top notch! The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and went out of our way to make our night out for our family of 4 special. The food was excellent and prepared to perfection. Our server, Alex, recommended that I get the Malbec and it was probably one of the best malbecs I’ve ever had. Thank you, Dante! ❤️

Ah man! I can write a book about Dante. Let’s start with the ambience. It’ll feel like you took a trip somewhere without leaving Cleveland. The staff are incredibly welcoming. Everyone was so attentive. Okay, food time. I ordered the tasting portion of the Shrimp Ravioli. It was amazing. It was perfectly sour and lemony. For my main course, I ordered the Angus Beef Ribeye. I asked for medium and got a perfect medium. The vegetables that came with it were really good too. My friend ordered the Vegan Lasagna and loved it. It had cashew paste and was a delight. Overall, this was a much needed great dining experience.

Overall, excellent meal. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. 1st course was a salmon dish, great presentation, amazing flavor, perfect wine pairing. This course lacked a touch of salt. 2nd course was pasta with short rib. Again, prefect wine pairing and the dish of the night. Well balanced flavors, great texture. 3rd course was black cod, again the wine was a wonderful pair, the dish was excellent. The fish was perfectly cooked, everything on the plate belonged and complemented the fish. 4th course was sirloin with short rib and kale. The sirloin was perfect! The short rib was perfectly cooked, but under seasoned, the kale was over a touch over seasoned, perhaps i didn't create the perfect bite with the meat and veg..... Again the wine pairing was excellent. The desert course was creative, flavorful and well executed. Great service and a great meal overall. If you're in Cleveland looking for an excellent dining experience, this is it!

Ordered the tasting experience with wine pairing, and I'm still recovering. It was amazing. I could hear all the colors of the rainbow. There was peace on Earth. Jonathan guided us through a culinary journey on a river of wine in a boat made of love. I'm sad that it's over, but I'm so happy that it happened. Godspeed, person reading this.

Stopped in without a reservation so we grabbed some seats at the bar. Tried the tasting menu, everything was delicious! Service was spot on and the lovely people at the bar provided very interesting conversation. What a great treat for a night out without the kids for us! Will definitely be back

The food and service were nothing short of incredible. Suggest the various tasting items, which were quite large, but it gives a good sense of the kitchen’s talents. We were originally concerned with what to wear, sadly west side Cleveland prevailed, as we saw t-shirts, Hawaiian shirts and very casual wear. Extra credit to the kitchen for home made pasta noodles. Demerit to the management for 2% credit card transaction fees despite not using a credit card. It felt like being robbed without a gun, or a really tacky money grab you’d expect at a Shibley restaurant. Valet parking was $10 + tip. Reservations recommended. They had two mens/womens rooms upstairs with single toilets and staff said there was also a bathroom downstairs.

This review is going to read like a Bigfoot sighting because I have a ton of amazing things to say but only one okay photo 🤣. That’s because the food and company was so good. The level of food, service, and value is amazing. This is one of the best experiences in Cleveland. I’m thankful for it!

Absolutely fantastic! Drinks and food were spot on. The bar even carried several rare whiskey bottles. We purchased a pour of blade and bow, however it was missing the key so their was no way to identity the series. The cocktails had a good balance between the alcohol and mix-ins. We each purchased a main course which was more than enough to carry leftovers home.

Dante has set an incredible standard of compassion for the Tremont neighborhood. In these difficult times the restaurant and its staff have been out on the street once a week to give free meals to the community. To any people reading this who are able, I hope you'll consider donating on their site. And for those in need, they've been handing out meals on Sundays from 3-5pm. We are truly blessed to have you here. Thank you.

I throughly enjoyed eating here. I will have to say that I’ve been to many restaurants and by far this is on my list of top 5 restaurants I’ve ever dined at. To start off I had the chilled oysters and and crab rangoon spring roll, for my main meal I had the pheasant meal , which was roasted breast and braised thigh, parsnip purer, marjoram , savory vegetable pot pie. Which was amazing. This was my first time having pheasant . And it was cooked to perfection. The pot pie was amazing. I never tasted anything that amazing. Our waiter was phenomenal, they kept our water cups filled and very pleasant. Made sure our table had what we needed. Even though I was full beyond words. I pushed myself and got the Carmel Bourbon Cheesecake, and it was phenomenal. Best cheesecake I have ever had. I will have to honestly give this restaurant a 10/10. This was definitely an awesome, amazing dining experience.

The best dining experience of my life! We dined at the chef's table and did the 7 course tasting menu; in the 40 years I've been on this Earth I've never tasted anything like that. Amazing!!

Went to Dante’s next door for brunch. I had the steak and eggs. My wife had the crab cake eggs Benedict. I had a hot olive Bloody Mary and the thirsty dog collab beer. Service was as good as the food. Absolutely amazing. It’s only open for 5 hours a week and if you happen to be available between 10am and 3 pm and in the area, you need to check out this brunch.

Every time has been a top notch experience. This time the coolest, chef's table in the kitchen, 5 course tasting. Staff was great, service was great, atmosphere was amazing, even got to meet Dante!! I have 1 teeny issue. I just want a little bit more out there for the tasting. Both times, it has started off with something a little different exciting and then kinda worked back safer. I asked our server about this and she explained what I thought... It's more appealing, it's broader, it helps the person in the group who isn't that adventurous. Don't get me wrong... The dishes were great... Oh and did I mention huge for a tasting... You will leave full. Lobster salad, duck ragu pappardelle, sea bass, ny strip... Ugh the cassoulet... And two desserts, blueberry cake... Unreal, and a cherry cheesecake cake. I needed a stretcher to get out. It's a fun experience, definitely worth it, and I will be back.

We visited Dante a couple of nights ago with my son and his gf. Everything about the evening was perfect. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive. The food (and wine) was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful... wish we had thought to take photos. Loved the atmosphere. If you are looking for the perfect place for a special dinner, I highly recommend Dante!

Just went this past weekend with a party of 7. They were accommodating with reservations and booking process. Lighting was very dim, almost had to squint to read the menu. Drinks were ok, although I felt $15 for a vodka/cranberry was a bit much. Bread was completely stale, so hard we couldn’t bite into it. When I brought it to our servers attention, she did change it out for fresh bread…although I felt with how much we were paying for the meal fresh bread was an expectation, especially for a larger party. Appetizers were very good, although people in my party would have liked the oysters served plain with topping options on the side to dress as they liked. Main courses were very well cooked and seasoned. Desserts were just okay. Some a bit too rich. Was our first time dining there. Some said they’d return, others said no. Thought it was overall good, just needed to be a bit more on point for the cost.

My wife and I visited Dante Restaurant to kick off our 40th wedding anniversary weekend. She selected the Vegan tasting experience and I the regular. It was simply fabulous. The atmosphere and attentiveness of the staff were excellent and the food was absolutely delectable. We are planning to return in a couple of weeks for another meal. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Came here with two other couples and my boyfriend for brunch over the weekend while visiting Cleveland area. I will say that this spot is really cute! We were seated outside but it was a lovely day. They left cute throw blankets over one chair at every table for those who were getting a bit chilled in the breeze,

I love Rideye steak... I have had Rideye at the BEST of restaurants all over Cleveland. Dante's is the best Ribeye I have EVER had. I am laying here now, wishing I was there eating it all over again... I have never eaten a steak so slowly in my life!!! Don't go... save it all for me!!! Like butter I tell you!!!!. I will never have better. Most definitely coming back as soon as I can!!!

I cannot comment on the as we left within 15 minutes after being seated. Our first table was for two and very cramped so we asked to be seated at a larger table which he did ( mind you it was 6:00 and no was in the restaurant. Next comes the snarky waiter. The menu is confusing but his explanation was worse as we asked a question durin his little speech he said” was was explaining it before you interrupted me” rather nastily. Now we were way to order drinks, menus down and it about 5 minutes or more he walks by and no drink order. We were done. Left and no one was around. Went down the street and had a fabulous dinner.

I am the type of eater who likes a nicely proportioned sandwich - not too much meat, not to much bread - and a good amount of toppings and mayo or some kind of sauce. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it is just a large portion of meat and bread. Not my style.

My girlfriend and I went here on Thursday night for a belated Valentine's dinner, And we had a fantastic time. The wait staff was awesome, and very personable. We did the 5 course dinner, and we were not at all disappointed. I believe only one thing was off the menu, which was the beet appetizer, and That was one of my favorite things all night. The creamy with the crisp, the cool with the warm, and the presentation... Fantastic. Each course was individual, creative, and full of surprise. The ambiance of the restaurant is very cool, and just an all-around excellent experience. I know we'll be back.

What an incredible evening enjoying the chef's table! We began with our very attentive and knowledgeable server, Scott. He walked us through every detail of our experience, and we never felt rushed throughout our 3 hours! Our cocktails, entrees and dessert were exceptional! It was interesting to watch the kitchen in action...we will definitely visit again, and thank you for your hospitality!

I think we were there about a month ago. Had a pasta appetizer that was great, going back for the ultra large portion. We had the big steak,30 some ounces and I think I want to put that in the steak hall of fame. So good it was ridiculous. Our server was from heaven;she was truly outstanding. Overall a great experience.

They have always been fall-off-the-bone excellent! We are looking forward to our next trip in the future to visit friends and ordering from this establishment. The polenta was surprisingly so good! (Was doubting the texture but ... quite savory flavorful and enjoyable), then my fish was just perfect and enjoyed every bite to the end !

  • 4/5 Courtney G. 3 years ago on Google
We came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Service and atmosphere was good, though entrees were a little disappointing. My husband ordered the venison - the meat was cooked fine, but the mushrooms were undercooked / chewy and everything was Luke warm. Likewise my scallops were luke warm and tasted like they had been sitting out for some time. They also charged us for our birthday dessert - a little tacky. I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could - for the price, it wasn’t terrible, but not sure we’ll be back anytime soon.

Where do I start? My wife and I decided on the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing. I wish I could use expletives to explain our experience. The meal's every small detail was extravagant. The wine pairings were spot on. The service was excellent. Our server even helped find a French press manufacturer for us. I cant recommend this place its food and service enough.

Pasta is good Don't order stake and hongkong mussel they are expensive and I expected a lot but I didn't even eat much Mussel was way too salty stake had no taste Pasta was the best in cleveland but because of those two ridiculously overpriced and horrible taste dishes I will leave 1 star I am only interested in ordering past from this restaurant

I loooove this place!! I dined here for an anniversary dinner with my partner. The service was amazing! I was excited that they had a vegan/vegetarian friendly menu! The food was exquisite!! I had the cauliflower steak it was seasoned to perfection we also had several appetizers as we wanted to try almost everything on the menu! The best part about this experience is almost a month later I received a hand written note from Dante thanking us for visiting the restaurant! This is the type of thoughtfulness that will help a business thrive! We will definitely be back to try the chefs course dinner option paired with wines!

Cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was at Dante’s. We sat in the vault for dinner and our server, Derek, was extremely attentive. All staff we came in contact with were kind, courteous and helpful offering recommendations that really were as delicious as they claimed. Our food was some of the best we have had! We ordered the pappardelle bolognese appetizer, scallops with pumpkin ravioli, duck, and the dessert tasting. Wine and cocktails were delicious as well! Highly recommend Dante’s for a special night out!

AMAZING! RUN, DON’T WALK to this restaurant. One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in Cleveland! The atmosphere is intimate and romantic. I went for my birthday and the staff was AMAZING and made my experience phenomenal! I ordered the 5 course meal with wine pairings. The chef gracefully accommodated my dairy sensitivity, the server thoroughly explained the wine, and the food was fantastic. If you’re ever in the Cleveland area and value a fine dining experience, do not hesitate to drop by!
