My honest review after taking my 9 year old is to not waste your money. We’ve been to Pittsburgh’s science center several times and it’s much larger and for a similar ticket price. We did not rush through and looked at all the exhibits and activities and made it back to the parking garage within 3 hours. I child did enjoy himself, but I personally feel it wasn’t the best use of money for a day out. There are 3 floors but each floor is rather small. There’s also a nice sized section inside and outside that is reserved for 7 years and younger and that’s the section my 9 year old was most excited for, based on photos we saw before our visit - such a bummer for him. Per usual, the gift shop was over priced so we did not purchase anything. We had a stroller so we had to use the elevator but had to go through the education center to access it. The parking garage is rather expensive at $13 but we received a validation ticket reducing the cost to $9 when we purchased our tickets. If you are concerned about germs or potentially safe air, this is not the place for you. There was a few hand sanitizing units on the wall, a few sinks in the open space, but the one sink I tried didnt work. Our family visited the restrooms often to wash our hands as everyone was constantly touching things (it’s 100% a hands on interactive establishment). I saw there was even a sign in the car building section that said these parts are clean but never saw one person cleaning anything in the 3 hours we were there. I wanted to use the nursing room they offer, and was pleasantly surprised they even offered a quite space for nursing moms, but at some point there must have been a leak in the ceiling of that room because of the bulging ceiling tile when you enter the room and the musty/dirty/old smell in the room. Needless to say, I immediately left the room as I suspect there had to be some mold growth somewhere. When I left, I saw two men working on the bathroom across the hall and saw some gross black stuff all over the bathroom wall and that grossed me out even more and convinced me it was time to leave. This was for sure a first and last visit to this

The Science Center is amazing... in theory. Unfortunately It's lost some of its luster as the years have gone by. When we went there was a frustrating amount of "exhibit being serviced" signs along with interactive exhibits that weren't MARKED as closed but either didn't work as intended or at all. Things look like they need some upkeep. Dusty, scuffed and worn down. Our son still had a blast though! He loves all the space exhibits and various things to explore. It's still filled with excited kids, smiles ear to ear. So there's definitely something to be said there. However, it just seems like the facility as a whole is on the decline. Things need some serious TLC. Which is a major bummer because it's such a wonderful asset to the community and the city.

This place is great if you have younger kiddos, otherwise it's a bit pricey for the exhibit that they offer. Don't get me wrong is really cool too see the Apollo exhibit but I'm not sure that along is worth the price. Thee majority of the museum is dedicated for younger children to explore science and is all hands on. The entire top floor is dedicated to hands on playing for the kids, they have lots of exhibits that will hold kids attention for hours but for adults and older kids is really just the one Apollo exhibit that will peak there interest. I hope this helps give everyone a better perspective of what to expect!

Overall was a great experience, the family had a blast. My son face lit up at every exhibit as if he was at a coin free arcade. Got to love science. Only downside is we where having so much fun we lost track of time and didn't get to all of the exhibits. Next time we are in town, we are going too for sure.

Even though I am an adult and this is geared more towards kids, I loved every moment of it. The staff were wonderful, there were so many hands on learning experiences. I have nothing bad to say about my experience.

Loved watching the Artic life movie in the dome!!! It is a fantastic immersive experience! My son loved all the science displays and game areas! This is great place for families!

Don’t let the Google map image fool you. There is a underground parking garage next to the museum. They will tell you to pay for your parking before you leave the museum. The parking kiosk is on the third floor near the food court. This place also doubles as the visitor center NASA Glenn Research Center and the place for admission to the William P. Mather ship. A Great place for the family and for anyone looking for the Apollo command modules. They have Skylab 3 here.

It was ok. Lots to do but expected a little more for the price of the tickets. There were alot of exhibits OUT OF SERVICE. The Theater 🎥 was the best part. I'm sure the Steam Ship would be pretty great too.

Great time at the science center! Tons of great interactive exhibits. Absolutely loved the Tornado Alley iMax video that they play in intervals throughout the day! Certainly would have liked to see the Ice Age video as well. We had 6 kids with us ranging from 12-17 years old and they all loved it! We'll definitely be back again. Wish we had more time.

Everything was great. My son had the time of his life. I heard him, normally pretty chill, scream with excitement during experiments and in the play area. Everything was so good we came home and bought a yearly pass. Park in the garage and you can walk straight in and avoid the weather. It started as a day trip that was meant to end at lunchtime. We ended up staying until close. For my son, this was like….this was everything. He got to sit in what he calls a spaceship, and that was so special for our family. He’s 3 and knows the name of planets. Once he told me “dada, I think I’m gonna go to Mars one day, and you can go with me if we have room”. Well, after our trip to the Great Lakes science center, I believe him. And the science center gives us the foundation to make that a reality. After our trip. And seeing all they had there. I know my son will have the chance to explore and understand things that I just can’t explain to him. Perfect adventure for us today.

We went on a Monday and had the entire museum to ourselves. It kept my 6yo and 15yo entertained for a few hours. We came here specifically to see dinosaurs but that exhibit was switched out to legos which is not nearly as cool since my kids have plenty of those at home. I will say there were a noticeable amount of stations that were down but it didn’t take away from the experience. We chose to watch the sea lion documentary (45 minutes) in the dome - it was only a $5 add on & worth it.

So much fun. My daughter and I visited today and had a blast. Tons of different areas to try experimenting. Tons of interactive exhibits to try out. Different music, water & electric areas. Wish they had the bottom floor opened up or more exhibits to spread out and explore more.

In Honor of Martin L. King, the Great Lakes Science Center & many other museums in Cleveland and Akron were free to the public! Me & my son had a lot of fun! This place is great if you have younger scholars. The majority of the museum is dedicated for young children to explore science and is all hands on. We did so much! Even with it being crowded on a “free day”. The entire top floor is dedicated to hands on playing for the kids, & they have lots of exhibits that will hold kids attention for hours! Another great area we enjoyed was the NASA Glen Research Center. Why, because Jiji loves astronauts! We learned a lot about flight and space travel, and saw some of the items from space missions. Overall, we had a great time at the center and easily spent a few hours having fun and learning.

This was one of the best places that I visited while in Cleveland. My favorite things were the marble runs, the NASA exhibit, the stoplight, and really my family, and I enjoyed everything! I will be back again!

Second time coming here. Admission for a adult was $17 which I thought was a bit pricy and If your not willing to read to understand what your interacting with you might not enjoy yourself but if your looking to kill time and have fun with friends and family there is plenty of ways to do so. I'm here today killing out the afternoon. The pictures are from the backside facing the marina but I will add some from the inside!

Great experience for young and old. Plenty of informational kiosk plus hands on learning stations. Get there early so you can enjoy all of the stations before it gets crowded. A big disappointment though is that a lot of the hands on learning stations we're broke or not working properly. This is something that needs to be addressed.

This center is a great place to spend time with children, many different entertainment games for children, you can eat delicious pizza. And we especially liked watching the film in the dome about fur seals, the most amazing thing. It will be interesting for both children and adults, I recommend it to everyone and give it a high score. You will not regret)))

Very fun experience for the kids! I'm glad we were able to experience the Omnimax theater and watch the launch of Apollo 11. Although it was very crowded, everyone seemed to share space quite well. Parking was also very reasonable. We did not have lunch there because we packed snacks, but the food did look good.

This place was beautiful in the early morning hours. The lights on the bridge and the walking trails around makes this place a great jogging spot in the early morning hours. As for the Cleveland triathlon swim location in the actual harbor, I found that the lake was cleaned up well beyond my expectations! I loved it here! I will definitely come back here when I have the opportunity!

Overall it was a very fun experience for me and my son. We loved checking out all of the modules and stations. So much interactive activities for adults and children. The only thing I was disappointed about was that my son was really looking forward to viewing the human anatomy exhibit. When I got there and asked about it, she said they stopped doing that. The company that would come and set up decided it was too much of a hassle and with all of the Covid regulations - they decided against it. They still advertise it on their website unfortunately. The pizza was delicious though! In a nutshell, I would recommend taking your children here. There is definitely a lot to learn and immerse yourself in.

It's a great place to take the kids and keep them occupied for a while. Lots of interesting exhibits for them that are hands on. The staff is very friendly. Only 4 stars though, because there's quite a few exhibits that need some TLC and are either only working partly or not at all.

We had a Case western social event and we had more fun walking around the science center. It was a worth it trip down the lane. Entertainment packed and activities to kick the adrenaline exactly the right amount. A must visit!

Great place to spend the day. Top floor is set up for younger kiddos, probably 3-7 years old. The rest of the museum was set for kids of all ages. My two 6 year olds loved the entire place. The boat outside was closed when we visited and cost additional to board. The theater there also cost additional. We chose to do the free things. You have to go and see it.

An absolutely wonderful place to take kids of all ages to learn about science, the planet, space, and so much more! So many floors / levels for exploring! Convenient parking garage attached / underneath.

Great place for kids to explore. Their space exhibit is very cool, there is so much information for all interest levels. Worth looking into membership packages if you have younger kids.

The public libraries held an event that was excellent, they have a reading challenge and gave out tons of books. They also offered free admission for the day which was a treat!

It is worth a visit. Mostly geared towards getting kids into STEM. As an adult who happened to be in the area it was a cool place to spend the afternoon. I would not take a trip here just for the museum. With kids you could spend 2-3 hours here. Without I would say an hour.

  • 4/5 Zoe T. 2 years ago on Google
Came here about 4 weeks ago and I would say that the Museum is great for little kids (elementary to middle school, or those who just love space!) but I was hoping it would be more adult oriented as some other science centers I have been too had more areas for adults. Some of the interactive areas in the space area as well as the top floor were not fully working but I understand things will not always be working 100%. (Contactless exhibits to be exact for the 2nd floor) Staff were wonderful and very helpful. Bathrooms were clean as well! Great view of the lake

  • 5/5 Madhumathi B. 2 years ago on Google
Incredible place to know about STEM. The body works exhibit was amazing.A must visit places. Was able to know more about Apollo capsule. Best place for kids and teens to have hands-on science experience and learn more while having fun

A great place for kids and adults to explore and learn while having fun!! My whole family enjoyed our time there.

  • 3/5 Tony J. 2 years ago on Google
Facility is nice but think that they are losing focus on mission. Rarely a reason to visit if you've been before. Came for a musical concert that was supposed to be candlelit outside. It was totally inside and still daylight so nothing like advertised. Musicians were great though so it wasn't a total loss.

  • 3/5 Mistia D. 5 months ago on Google
Fun, but very pricey. No food service after 2 on a weekend was disappointing. The guy who sold our tickets was very loud in an awkward way.

So much to learn and do. Great interactive displays. Plenty to keep kids of all ages occupied and the benefit is that they learn through play

Nice location. Fun, interactive exhibits. A few exhibits weren't working, but most were good. The staff was great! The food was overpriced.

Had a great time here. Lots of things to do for a wide variety of ages. The interactive exhibits on the top floor were a ton of fun. Spent more time here and had more fun than at the Rock and Roll museum next door.

  • 5/5 Meredith S. 2 years ago on Google
Our family had a great time at the Great Lakes Science Center. We really enjoyed the new exhibit for the "science of Rock and roll"! The kids got to bang on drums, play an electric guitar guitar and learn about how music relates to science. What a cool idea. We always love the interactive displays and getting to interact with science in a fun way. The place was in good shape and almost all the displays were functioning (which in the past was not always the case). The one exhibit we were bummed about it being broken was the stop motion animation exhibit with Legos and felt. It looked like a really fun project but the iPads were not working. Otherwise we had a blast making parachutes and testing them, playing with ferrofluid and magnets and messing around with all the cool gadgets and exhibits on the top floor. We even love the gift store! During other visits we enjoyed going out side and looking at the big ship behind the science center and there is a small playground next to Lake Erie for the kids to play. We have a yearly membership and highly recommend that you check out this place with your kids.

I visited this museum with my husband and children sponsored by a school field trip. I recommend that you visit, there is a lot of learning, fun and discovery in this museum. It is an amazing and wonderful experience! Each corridor and level is full of adventure and teaches to discover. Don't wait for them to tell you, go to the museum and enjoy it...

  • 5/5 Daniel D. 8 months ago on Google
Wish it was bigger so they could fit more awesome activities inside. Loved the interactiveness. Excellent for kids and grown ups alike.

  • 5/5 Cassandra L. 9 months ago on Google
Great place for all ages. Activities that adults can enjoy and learn about. Even young children enjoy pushing different buttons and all the varieties of activities. There are lots of restrooms and places to sit down. There are many stations with activities. There is even a spot outside with a beautiful view of Lake Erie and the marina with a boat play place and water tables. There is a section for kids under seven with some fun things to play on. Very great place you should check out!

  • 5/5 JC D. 1 year ago on Google
Not a lot for adults, but get the tickets if you're going to check out the Mather anyway. Very interesting exhibits inside, especially the space ones! An adult can be occupied for hours doing some of the interactive stuff upstairs.

  • 5/5 ronald h. 1 year ago on Google
Love the interactive displays and adventures! I learned alot! The grandchild was thrilled and worn out after 3 hrs of fun. There is a Cafe and theater for extra cost. Military discount is 50% off 4 guests. Park in the garage and they will validate the ticket for a free parking space.

  • 2/5 Stephanie B. 1 year ago on Google
Very disappointing. Many things didn't work. The cafe has a menu full of great sounding food at very high prices. My grilled cheese was open face fried with American cheese, burnt to a black crisp. Could barely tell there was cheese on it to begin with. Tomato soup was good though. My kids pizza was burnt and gross. My fiance's $14 Cuban was burnt to black and contained very little toppings. $50 for food and drinks that we could barely choke down. Souvenir shop is astronomically priced. $5 for a single small sticker for example, that was the lowest cost item I saw. Website implied the steam ship is always open or I misunderstood because it's closed until summer. The NASA area was by far the coolest experience.

  • 5/5 Sherry W. 9 months ago on Google
We love this place! My daughter has been going to Camp Curiosity for a few years now and loves it. She always asks when she can go back and loves all the different projects they do. You have the option to send your child with their own lunch or get a meal plan at the Science Center and they give you all the details when you register. If you've got a budding explorer who loves science it's definitely worth checking out!

  • 5/5 Scott 10 months ago on Google
We really enjoyed this place. They have a lot of stuff for the kids to do and it's very interesting for the adults as well. The one area of caution is that the food there is enormously expensive. They are charging crazy amounts of money for chicken nuggets or a hamburger. There's a Cuban sub that is $14 and it doesn't include fries or a drink. So I would recommend bringing your own food we're not planning to stay for dinner. That said the science center was a great place and kids all really enjoyed it and had a good time. We will definitely come back. Make sure to get your ticket validated for parking at the front desk that sits only $9 there were as opposed to $13 in the parking garage.

  • 3/5 Aubrey N. 11 months ago on Google
So I went here when it first opened maybe 20 or so years ago and let me tell you nothing has changed. I remember every exhibit with the exception of a few. Definitely needs updating. Family membership is like $150 but gets us into over 300 museums which is great!!

  • 5/5 Tyler D. 10 months ago on Google
Fantastic fun. Even with some things that didn't work there. The place was clean, organized and laid out nicely to enjoy it all step by step. So much to do to enjoy and or learn.

  • 4/5 Troy S. 10 months ago on Google
Good place for the kids to run around on a rainy day. The outside water table area needs to be worked on for this summer as a lot of that was not working, yes it was misting outside so not a huge deal. They are member of the ASTC museum reciprocal which was great for me. It was free for me and the kids with our museum membership. We parked on the street out front at the meters for about $2 which made it great.

  • 5/5 Dawn S. 2 years ago on Google
The NASA exhibit is incredible! Rockets, the lunar landing module, space capsule, astronaut suits, and much more. The hands on exhibits are very cool to interact with

  • 5/5 Sarah M. 1 year ago on Google
I greatly enjoyed this addition to our day, and this place would be a wonderful time for kids. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable, and even the gift shop staff was really cool. I'm definitely going to have to bring my nephew here.
