They have a complimentary hot breakfast which is nice, as well as a workout room and meeting rooms. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have valet parking for a fee, which is convenient. The common areas could be cleaner and the carpets need a more detailed vacuuming.

Rooms and hotel were clean. Location is great and close to a lot of things. This hotel is older but not really restored. The staff are nice especially the lady who ran the happy hour and breakfast bar. I thought the breakfast bar had a lot of choices and the 2 free drinks the night before was a big plus. What could they have done better? Shower was a slow drain and I hate standing in water while I’m showering. No luggage rack and only like 4 electrical outlets in the room. (It was 4 of us). No USB ports. The elevators are super small, like they might not even be ADA complainant, small. Shower gel dispenser was empty. Glad I brought my own. Tried to call ahead to the valet to get my car but was told they were too busy so I needed to just come down and wait. We would probably stay again due to the great location.

This hotel is gorgeous, in a great location, and the rooms are big. I'm only giving four stars because the service wasn't ideal. We had to call to ask for hand soap since there wasn't any in our room, luckily that came quickly. However, we called to ask for a towel and that never came. Lastly, the breakfast wasn't great. I will say, the water pressure in the showers was better than any hotel I have ever been to. I'll definitely be back if ever in Cleveland again.

We had stayed in this hotel before and things were OK. The front desk staff was nice which is the only stars this is getting for this stay. A basic hot breakfast is also included which helps. This building was old, which I knew, again we were here before, but some of the stuff in our room is just no upkeep. Our room, which was a suite, had significant ceiling water damage with cracking and some black stains. There were hairs in the bathroom so it wasn't cleaned very well. The worst however, was the air conditioner, which was set at 60 degrees, was not working. We actually got up and left very early because the room was reaching in excess of 80+ degrees and no one could sleep. This was a near 300$ a night room. I checked at breakfast, and it wasn't just our room. Everyone there said their AC was broken and was leaving for the same reason. If this is a limitation, in July, I expect management to tell you upon check in before continuing with the stay. I hope things get better for them and they turn the place back around.

Lovely hotel, very old building. The lobby was beautiful. The elevators were pretty claustrophobic. The rooms were very big, but sparse, and the view was mainly buildings which is to be expected. The valet was very good, they made good small talk, and they were trustworthy. There are many shops and restaurants near this hotel so it is the ideal location.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express Cleveland downtown. The rooms are huge with high ceilings and beautiful views of the city. We were on the 14 floor. The hotel was very quiet for a downtown location, and the beds were so comfortable! The location puts you within walking distance to many major attractions. Breakfast was wonderful with something for everyone. The only tricky thing were the card readers on the elevators, but staff was eager to help you. We love Cleveland and will definitely be coming back to this hotel.

I had reserved a room online a couple of weeks before staying at a price of $179 for a standard 2 queen bed room. My card was never charged as I selected the option to pay at check-in. Our stay was eh. I love the old vibes of the building, however the room was needing some severe tlc. Didn’t expect a ton, but for $179 a night the room quality was definitely not up to par. After checking out this morning and heading home I noticed my bank account had been charge THREE separate times by The Holiday Inn. Once for $229 (which was never a quote I booked on nor was it ever brought to my attention in any form for any reason), second time for the $50 incidentals (fine, I knew they was a thing), and a third/final time for $179 that I actually agreed to for the room fees. I was immediately not happy about the $229 I got charged for out of nowhere that should not have been put onto my card! I called and was transferred to 3 different people and placed on hold for almost 20 minutes for someone to poorly explain that my card was first charged a reservation rate (um no it wasn’t, the first fee that came out from holiday inn was the $229… which was way more than agreed upon) and that that amount was what the “rate jumped to when we checked in” WHAT? Then the manager said it and the incidental fee would be credited back to my account in 5-7 business days. That’s a long time to be missing $280… especially when you didn’t even know you’d be charged for the majority of that amount. Don’t think we will be staying here ever again.

Damn Elevators. Our room I thought was just fine. Spacious, nice hardwood floors, comfortable bed and pillows, bathroom a little outdated but okay, etc. So no huge issues except for the damn elevators and the key access to a floor. Never thought I'd criticize elevators. To keep others not in the hotel out, they restrict access by inserting a key to get to a floor. These keys constantly went bad during our 3 night stay and wouldn't access the elevator. So we had to constantly go stand at the front desk to get new keys. No, they were not demagnetized as they still worked for our room. I must have had to get keys replaced 5 times during our stay. And of course with others at the desk, that meant waiting. Also, our room faced Euclid Ave and right across the street there is construction so early in the morning, the beeping of trucks backing up started. Not a huge concern, but if wanting to sleep in, the beeping of construction trucks might wake you.

Horrible experience overall! Housekeeping went into my room while I was out to breakfast and stole my jewelry. The do not disturb sign was hanging on the door and they still entered without permission. When I filed the complaint the excuse was that they had temporary staff working that day. They said they would get back to me once they had security investigate. Still waiting on that call. The previous night security knocked on my door 2 times within 5 minutes saying the noise level was too loud. No music was playing and the tv was barely up. Two couples just sitting having a conversation amongst ourselves. No yelling, screaming just regular conversation. So my guess is that he literally stood outside our room door listening. Because as soon as he left the first time he immediately knocked again as soon as the first person started to talk again. I couldn’t believe it!!! I paid to stay there but I had to do it in silence. Lastly, the hotel had an awful musty smell upon entering and whenever you turned on the heat in the room the smell filled the room. Such an awful experience and I’ll never go back!!

Arrived shortly before midnight and was so taken care of! Valet was speedy and check in was a breeze. The room was absolutely gorgeous in this wonderfully maintained older building. The high ceilings and gorgeous decor has made it a must stay.

Cathy at the front desk was very helpful in fixing a booking mistake my company made and kept me from spending a dime of my own money. The rooms feel open and are very clean and well designed. The location is hard to beat with many dining and entertainment opportunities near by. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay and can’t wait to check back in for another.

Excellent location in downtown Cleveland. We stayed here for a concert at Rocket Mortgage Field House. Very close to the arena and the downtown Jacks Casino. Food and drink options are available all around the hotel. The hotel is a great value and very spacious. Our room had two beds and a pull out couch. It also had two televisions. Small kitchenette with fridge, sink and microwave. The bathroom was spacious, however it was missing hand soap. The room key gets you access to using the elevator. WiFi is available and works well. Valet parking is actually $40 but was helpful. I was told by friends there were cheaper overnight decks around. We will definitely be using this hotel again.

Becky at the front desk is an absolute GEM!!! I love this hotel so much I’m the bar manager at the house of creole downtown directly across the street. When I say the service at this hotel is immaculate from the breakfast to the friendly front desk staff ! Becky!!! ( minus one mean girl 🤦🏽‍♀️) the general manager Kevin is so polite and welcoming ! Even the house keeper manager came and welcomed me she was also polite!! I would recommend the stay for sure! Thanks Becky and Kevin for the kindness and good service

I spent the night here while visiting family. Although four people were at the front desk area when we arrived, one was waiting on another guest and the other three just sat there, literally. Then after 5 minutes, when someone did get up to help us, it felt like we inconvenienced them. The smell of Marijuana was definitely present. The room was nice and clean, no complaints there. Two employees on my way out the next day were very friendly and nice and helpful. The last was the valet, who mumbled at me and could barely be heard. The only good thing about it was that the Marble restaurant was next door.

The room was nice and spacious. I enjoyed the high ceilings. The breakfast was very good. I must say the hotel had a distinct smell about it that I didn’t enjoy which really put me off at first. The lobby leaves much to be desired.

What a cool place to stay! Puts you back to a place in time, with the modern comforts of home. The rooms are spacious and clean. We enjoyed our free drinks at happy hour (included), and the breakfast has something for everyone! It is centrally located downtown, near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and is also an easy drive to the Cleveland Clinic.

This hotel is a bit on the older side and could use some updates. However, the rooms are large and clean, the staff is friendly, the breakfast and happy hour are nice, and the location is great! It's very convenient and reasonably priced. Highly recommend for the budget conscious traveler!

I absolutely loved this place. We had a great view from our window and I loved every thing about this hotel. After checking, from 5-7 you could eat finger foods, nachos, wings, cookies, and they also had a salad tray. You also had the choice of getting a full bottle of wine or 2 beers or soda Your choice. No limit of the food but a limit on the drinks. I was ok with that. They also have breakfast. After walking around and going to different places that night I never made it to breakfast. We needed a late check out and we didn't have to leave until 1pm even though check out time was 11 I believe. I'm not sure when I will return to Cleveland again but I will definitely be staying at this location. All of the staff was very nice and friendly. I don't think I could have asked for anything more.

A wonderful old style hotel. Very pretty and very large rooms, just beautiful. The staff was always friendly and attentive. I would particularly like to highlight the lady at the front desk. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name, but it was the lady who was at the reception on 6/20 and 6/21 in the morning and at noon. A role model for everyone who works in tourism!! Smiling, warm friendly, a very pleasant personality! This is how you would like to be welcomed and said goodbye in a hotel! The location of the hotel is excellent. We will definitely visit this hotel again.

Do not stay here if air conditioning matters to you. With respect to aesthetics, location and breakfast, this hotel seemed too good to be true. Well it was. Unfortunately the A/C was stuck at 73 and wouldn't go any cooler no matter how low I set it. The room has a digital thermostat, but it must only be for show. I am one who is unable to sleep much in a room above 70 degrees, so I called the front desk in the middle of the night, and they sent maintenance, who said that the temp would soon go down if I turned the thermostat 10 degrees lower, to 62. Well the temp never went below 73 and I woke up sweating. The next day I mentioned my issue to housekeeping and they offered me a box fan. Sweet, but not a solution. It felt like the staff knows the air doesn't work and they are giving guests the runaround. I know it's an old building but it's unacceptable for a hotel charging this rate not to have guest-controlled A/C.

Best location in downtown Cleveland. Less than a 10 min walk to everything downtown has to offer. The hotel itself was historic and beautiful, the room was clean with high ceilings, updated decor, and well stocked amenities. Check in was easy, staff was helpful, and the complimentary breakfast had a large selection. We are very satisfied with our experience and will return next time we’re in town!

I had a pleasant stay at this Holiday Inn Express. It was quiet enough for me to sleep well through the night as long as the A/C wasn't on. It's nice weather here to allow that. You gotta love a place with free breakfast that is actually breakfast and not just a bagel and cream cheese. All of the staff are kind and friendly. Oh and they have a free happy hour for guests!

We stayed here on a Sunday evening in order to attend a concert at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. We had the best experience...from check in (the girls were so interactive and friendly with our entire party), to the room (the small historic touches that you can still recognize, especially the original hardwood floors) to the full, hot breakfast, to the valet who retrieved our vehicle upon check-out. The room we stayed in, 508, was very well sound proofed also! We know for a fact that our fellow hotel guests were mostly preteen and teenage girls staying there with parents and not once did we hear any other guests in surrounding rooms! We were an 8 minute walk to the venue (which my 10 year old grand daughter enjoyed immensely). I will definitely stay again! Great experience at an affordable price. I just wish I would have gotten some pictures of the inside of the room. It was beautiful.

Very interesting hotel carved into the inside of a historic old bank building. One of the most unique hotels I’ve stayed in. And the rooms- Huge, especially for a city hotel! It felt like a studio apartment. Perfect downtown location within a 10 minute walk of 3 pro sport venues, convention center, rock hall of fame, theaters, restaurants, bars. But is it really that hard to greet your guests with a smile and make them feel welcome when you’re checking in? You’re in the hospitality industry.
