First all the staff was very friendly from the front desk to the security. This hotel is dated. You can see that they tried to do some updating but in my opinion it failed. The room was nice, but around bed boards, desk boards, and walls, you could see the accumulated dust and dirt. Only one face towels was available for the 2 night stay. The people at the bar were super nice, and it was the only place to sit, and have dinner. The breakfast was in the restaurant, and only one older lady working it, she was very nice also. I wasn't impressed with the coffee ( it didn't taste good) toast(hard) Or bacon(very greasy). I was in Cleveland to attend a funeral and was hoping for comforting accommodations, I expected more from a Doubletree Hotel.

Not an inexpensive hotel. The room was, at best, average. Finishes were dated, wallpaper peeling off, cable TV barely worked. Other than that everything was just okay, but the only reason I would ever consider staying here again is for the convenient location to the Brown's stadium and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Also noteworthy - upon arriving home I saw that my credit card was charged an additional $150 above what I was told by the front desk upon arrival. They stated I would be charged $50 for any incidentals, and that the parking fee of $25/day would be deducted from that $50 charge. However, there are now two additional $25 charges, and a fourth unexplained $100 charge. In total, I expected to be charged $50 in parking for my 2 night stay, but I currently have $200 charged to my card. I expect them to refund $150, but the fact I was charged without explanation is unacceptable and is definitely not standard practice. Not something I was happy to see after arriving home. I'll definitely be sticking with the Marriott brand in the future.

It was okay, but given the name and the price I definitely expected a lot more. Room and bathroom felt small. No complimentary breakfast and the hours for the restaurant didn't match our experience. Arrived early and asked about early check in but none was available so we had to distract ourselves for a couple of hours before we could get to our room. Service was good otherwise. Luckily there are a good amount of restaurants and attractions (Rock and Roll hall of Fame, First Energy, a ton of monuments and parks) to distract us while we waited.

This DoubleTree has had its glory days but is obviously dated. The rooms were clean, fitness center was actually well equipped. The restaurant and coffee shop have pretty limited hours. The front desk staff was always very nice, I was offered a shuttle ride to get coffee since the coffee shop closes at 1 pm and the shuttle driver made it a point to let me know how bothered he was by the trip. In terms of service, he was the rude exception, everyone else was polite, professional and friendly. Decent location off the lake.

I stayed here with my boyfriend, brother, and our friend. We booked the room so we could all drink in the flats and just Uber back. Upon first arriving at this hotel the last at the front desk was super friendly and kind. She wished me a happy birthday and thanked me for being a honors member. She was very welcoming and I don't think I've ever really came across someone so kind working front desk! Just with the interaction i had with her. She put a smile on my face. I would highly recommend this hotel to other people and I'll definitely be staying again sometime. Other than the service here the cleanliness of the room and when your first walk in is all very clean and nice. The beds are super comfy, we had booked a room with two queen beds.

Pleasant enough stay, and the rooms were pretty clean where it counts. There were several issues though, which I would have attempted to resolve had we booked a longer stay, such as: - Several of the outlets and lights in the room didn't work - The shower body wash dispenser was empty - The shower curtains were a little old and mouldy - Some parking garage elevator buttons missing There were some minor things as well, like a missing tile in the bathroom and the room pen not working. The hotel is definitely in need of a bit of a face lift, and a thorough cleaning / power washing of the parking garage elevator and stairwells. The staff we interacted with were all very pleasant and helpful, and the room itself was comfortable and good enough for our purposes (single night stay as part of a road trip). The central location was also fantastic for us.

Staff was amazing. Super friendly and attentive. They were able to give me an extremely early check-in, which I was not expecting, but it was a nice surprise. I would give the staff 5 stars. HOWEVER... The room (912) was the oldest and filthiest I've ever seen in my life. Clearly had not been renovated since the 80s (maybe very early 90s) and hadn't been deep cleaned in a VERY long time. Everything was grimy, holes in the walls, bathtub didn't drain properly during shower, the room smelled like old carpet. Just dirty. I would avoid like this place like the plague. There are plenty of other hotels in downtown Cleveland. This is clearly a reflection of poor management / ownership, who should be ashamed of themselves. I don't understand how this franchise meets any Hilton quality standards. Just bulldoze this place and rebuild, because the location is decent. But for now, it is yet another reason I will remain a Bonvoy loyalist.

Picked this hotel for location near Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and for that it was perfect. Nice staff. Room was spacious and mostly comfortable. Good coffee, fridge and microwave which I used. I was a bit shocked when I had my glasses on and was able to see some serious scum in the area of the handrail in the tub. I did not notice this right away as I had no need for the handrail and generally don’t shower with my glasses. Thus the omitted star. The restaurant was convenient for breakfast but buffets are not my preference. You can self park at the property’s lot for 25 a night.

Had a wonderful stay! Loved the warm cookies at check in. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean, towels were fresh, and the shower was amazing! Walked to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Took advantage of the shuttle and enjoyed dinner in The Flats. Employee at the on-site Starbucks was polite, kind, and offered an alternative since they were out of my favorite white chocolate mocha. Overall a great stay in Cleveland!

Grim! Dismal. Spend a the few extra bucks and stay somewhere else. Proximity to RRHOF was the ONLY virtue I can name. The pool was out of service, the hallway carpet on our floor was beyond dingy and gross, there was no fan for the bathroom, apparently room cleaning for guests staying more than 18 hours is not an option (no hanging door sign, etc.) - they suggest that you could request it, but if my request for towels (which went unfulfilled) is anything to go by, I'd say save your breath. They charged plenty for garage and breakfast (neither was worth anywhere near as much). Please spend a few extra bucks and stay somewhere nicer.

Very underwhelmed with the experience, especially for the price. My girlfriend and I decided to stay one night here because we were in town for an event. Hotel staff are generally quite friendly, though. We tried to find the pool that's included on the website and the hotel's floorplan, only to discover it had been removed about two years ago (some updating would have been nice). The room itself was... very disappointing. Extremely basic cable, a phone that looks like it's from the early 2000s which barely worked, only two towels, no fan for the bathroom, water that takes far too long to get warm, a stain on the box spring, etc. The shower curtain doesn't do much to contain the water and gets the floor soaking wet. They serve breakfast, but after reading reviews we opted out of that. Needless to say, we checked out early.

I really wanted to like this hotel more than I did, but unfortunately, it is extremely outdated & I did not feel safe while staying. The windows leak bad. The floor is unlevel, especially towards the windows. The tub didn't drain well. The toilet took forever to flush & refill. Overall, the rooms were not what I expected for the price that I paid. However, the staff was very friendly & accommodating! The location was great too. It's within walking distance to a lot of places downtown. The shuttle is an added bonus too!

not the best. if they had stated prior to us purchasing a 180/night (cheapest room) that the pool was closed due to covid (04/2022) then we would have found literally any other hotel with an open pool. wasn’t the cleanest room. felt grimy. the windows were caked in dirt and residue on both sides, ruining the view. i will say the staff are super friendly. but i can’t say we would be back unless they actually updated their rooms. pretty old.

We stayed here for my granddaughter’s volleyball tournament this past weekend. Carl, the shuttle driver, is an absolutely fantastic human being! The Double Tree is lucky to have him. He is friendly, funny, caring, and a pleasure to be with, and was great with the kids on my granddaughter’s team. I’d stay here again just to see Carl. The team had reservations to eat in the hotel restaurant at 8:55 Saturday night, but the tournament was running an hour late. A call to the restaurant was met with nothing but cooperation. The kitchen staff stayed late and made sure the team, and the parents, were well fed. We couldn’t thank them enough. The only drawback was the strong odor of marijuana that seemed to be coming through the bathroom ventilation system. While this was not a big issue for us, I can see where it would be an issue for some families.

The positive things about this stay was the staff. All were super friendly and helpful. They were professional and thoughtful. Also, as other mentioned, the breakfast was excellent. The eggs were good and she didn't have decaf so she got me one from Starbucks next door. No charge. The restaurant was clean. The bar was also clean and friendly. I ate there one night, restaurant is closed now, but food at the bar was good. The free shuttle service is also nice, especially in the cold weather. That said, the location a short walk from R&R Hall of Fame is terrific. I was on the 11th floor and had no room problems. My only complaint - and this is obviously not on the staff - is that the hotel is old and some of the elevators and hallways smelled bad. It's just a 1980s hotel that needs a major upgrade. But again, the staff, location, and breakfast make it worth staying there. And who can say no to a warm chocolate chip cookie?

This gets a 3 because of the friendly staff. I chose this hotel due to location (close to convention center) and because I trusted the brand. I can get over old but it was “falling apart” old and dirty. The bathroom door was filthy, room was dusty, random hairs seen in bathroom. The beds were not terrible but not as comfy as I’d like. No tissues, no shampoo, conditioner, or body wash in dispensers. Only had 3 towels and we had 4 people in our room. Shoutout to the restaurant- they stayed open late to accommodate a few large parties. Chris, our waitress was very attentive and delightful.

Stayed two nights. A bit dated but well kept and clean. Good breakfast at the restaurant. The fitness center was a decent size with good equipment. The only real complaint I have is that there weren't enough electrical outlets in the room! I had to unplug the TV to be able to plug in my laptop at the desk, and I had to unplug the alarm clock to charge my phone by the bed.

Nice Hilton hotel. Had great views of Lake Erie and was in a wonderful location downtown. The shuttle was very nice to have when it was too cold to walk. Tim at the Starbucks counter was very sweet in the mornings. Judy at the bar was awesome. She took the time to give us some advice on planning our next day. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and efficient. Overall GREAT staff. I was there for the Inteletravel event and would definitely stay again.

TOTALLY HAUNTED! Great hotel too! We walked to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, maybe 10 minutes? Package deal with tickets and a room, best deal ever! Free cookie at the front desk, and ask the older dude about crazy hauntings happening. We experienced.....something...to say the least.... The attached bar had a great bartender! Stay here, get a high floor!

The check-in was wonderful, thanks to Tasha! Great rooms, comfortable beds, clean! The cafe downstairs has Starbucks, all the workers at this hotel are friendly and considerate. A large group of young men decided to park right next to us in the garage on the weekend, blast their car steroes and share a gallon jug of JD - they weren't guests. Is this a thing in Cleveland? Garage party? But it wasn't any fault of the hotel. Neighborhood is really industrial and ghetto in one direction, and really awesome in the other. Walk towards the lake, not away from the lake. Never had a bad experience in Double Tree, anywhere in the country, and this one is also great!

I loved this property. Staff was super helpful! ALL staff, not just one person. The property was extremely clean. Everybody did what they could to make the stay more enjoyable. Rooms were a little older, but ours was EXTREMELY clean. The bartender, she was a great wealth of knowledge for the area, and extremely helpful. Not sure where the lady underneath my review stayed, but she is describing a property I failed to see.

I use the Hilton branded hotels all the time, with at least 50 nights a year spent in them across the world - so I think these are valid observations. Start with the good. Location is superb. Bedroom was quiet. Bed was very comfortable. Water was hot, plentiful and a good pressure. TV worked well. Now the bad. This hotel is in desperate need of updating. Built in the 1970s and still feels it. Everything is very tired. Signage is worn and in places replaced by poorly handwritten signs. Whilst the Check-in area is good, the elevators are tired and the public furniture, including the bar area, needs throwing out. Walked into the bar for some food and walked straight back out. Dirty tables and poor furniture. Limited power socket outlets except for an extension lead protruding from behind the TV. Staff were okay … but I didn’t feel particularly welcomed. ‘Functional’ probably sums it up. There is absolutely no way that this should be marketed as a 4* hotel. It sets itself up for customer disappointment; particularly when considering the price being charged. Would I choose to stay here again … absolutely not, unless it was cheaper or improved. I suppose that it fails the ‘value for money’ test.

I was very disappointed in my stay at the double tree in Cleveland. We had booked a block of rooms which were not ready by the 3pm check in time which left many sitting and waiting. It took 3 people to find my reservation (they were all very nice!) And I ended up in a handicap room since nothing else was available. The curtains were damaged and would not close all the way. Inconvenient but not horrible. My daughters room bathroom sink drain was completely clogged and her phone did not work to call the front desk who told me she would have to wait until the next day. We were able to get her room changed, it was 11 pm very inconvenient, only to have her end up in a room with the toilet running all night. It's a shame that the hotel bar did not stay open for the 2 wedding parties that stayed the weekend, they would have made a lot of money and we wouldn't have all had to Uber to other places in Cleveland. It's not a cheap hotel, it was very disappointing.

Normally I don’t post reviews. But as a Hilton Diamond Member with over 70 nights this year I have to express my displeasure. Only thing good about the Hotel is the location. It’s very walkable and not in the hood. Now on to the ugly truth. This hotel is in extreme need of upgrades and renovation. It’s not the worst hotel I’ve stayed at but it’s in the top 10. So many thing went wrong with this stay. First I didn’t get the room that was selected at check in via the app. The hotel was severely overbooked. I don’t mind being placed in a handicapped accessible room but when closet space is taken away due to that, it’s an issue. The furniture was extremely dated including the mattress. The drawers of the dresser did not close and the controller for the drapes did not work so they stayed open. I asked for another room and was ignored by the staff. I requested housekeeping twice during my stay, that didn’t happen. The hotel ran out of towels due to overbooking. At that point it because a sitcom. The breakfast was a joke, the French toast wasn’t French LOL. I don’t think I will stay at a Doubletree brand hotel again. But the Cleveland Lakeside location should be shut down temporarily due to the condition of the hotel.

Very nice place. Stayed here while we were in town for the rock and roll hall of fame. Old hotel but over all not bad shape, service was great all staff was very friendly even the worker outside cleaning the parking lot and Carl are driver for the shutter bus was great. So for anyone going to downtown Cleveland I recommend you stay here. We will be back. Thank you for a nice comfortable stay.

I definitely would not recommend this hotel. Due to company choice I have stayed here several times, and the culture of this hotel is always the same: Rooms are filthy. Floors are terribly dirty in rooms, hallways, and bathrooms. I have had rooms with toe nails, and hair all over the floor, shower, on linens and counters. Wish I took a picture of toilet but I cleaned it due to needing to use it before taking pics; there were pubes and pee running down the bowl. Microwave and fridge were dirty too. This hotel is old which is not the problem, but it is dark and dingy, the light in bathroom didn’t work, and shower squeeled the entire time not to mention the tub was peeling. I have asked in previous stays to be moved, only to experience the same culture in each room. I’ve had rooms where electrical problems occurred and tv, fridge, lamps were not getting power, and at times have had to vacuum my own room. I love double trees unfortunately this one is not a good representation of what these hotels normally offer.

Good location near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Also a great place to watch the air show on Labor Day weekend. The rooms are standard and on the small side. The bathroom is very small. Minimal vanity space. Front desk team was friendly and helpful. The shuttle service is a nice benefit. The breakfast offering in the restaurant is basic for the cost. No made to order omelettes. Overall a pleasant stay.

This DoubleTree location wasn't terrible, just completely lackluster. But ultimately, the value for the money paid just isn't there. It's an older hotel, and that's ok - not everything has to be shiny and new. But take care of the property, folks. Put a little love into it. Replace the dead bulbs in the room, scrub the air intake vents so they're not caked with dust and grime, and replace the rusty ice machine. The room is supposed to sleep four, so leave more than two sets of towels. Leave some cups in the bathroom. There are parking meters out front and down the block. They have a two hour limit on weekdays, but aren't enforced on the weekends.

A room was unbelievably filthy. Found someone’s nail piece on the sink. The hair dryer was covered with hair and dust. Very old facility with a loud heater. Smells like strong chemical. Could not sleep well dt the old uncomfortable mattress loud heater and chemical smell. Nice but unprofessional workers. Can’t believe Hilton does this kinda job. Not deserves 4 star grade.

Loved the ability to check in to our room on the app before arriving, and the hotel is right downtown Cleveland near lots of restaurants and other venues. Our room had no soap and when we went to the front desk they couldn't find any so had to wait for housekeeping to bring some and all they brought was a facial bar. Our heater also wasn't putting out heat and we had to call about that. Someone did come to our room while we were gone, but it never really got fixed right unfortunately. The room itself was clean and every employee we interacted with was very nice.

Was informed early check in at 12:30. We waited until almost 4:00 for our room. We could have explored part of the city instead of asking every half hour if our room was ready. When my husband stated we would just go somewhere else a room magically opened up The ice machine on our floor (15) was not working. Our phone did not work and had the incorrect room # on it. Candy wrappers were under the bed. Staff was surly. If my entire family was not staying at this location, we would have chosen a different hotel. Dinner that evening was at the hotel restaurant with a family gathering. No coffee was available with dessert. Really? No complimentary coffee available in the lobby in the morning. However, it was available for purchase at the in house Starbucks. For the level and integrity of this Hotel's name, why is there no complimentary coffee in the lobby? Especially if there is not a complimentary breakfast. Our family gathered in the courtyard in the evening. There was a lot of cottonwood bloom debris everywhere on the furniture in the entire courtyard. We asked if a staff member would blow the debris away. A staff member came out and blew the debris away from only the area we were sitting. He did not give any attention to the other sitting areas. There were other residents trying to sit in those areas and declined due to the debris Upon checkout, we were looking for a luggage cart. The desk staff stated there were only (4) carts for the entire 18 floor hotel! We waited for a cart and it had a flat tire!!! Very disappointed in this DoubleTree location.

We went to Cleveland for the sole purpose of going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Since the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel Cleveland Downtown Lakeside is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame preferred hotel and mentioned on their website, I didn’t check reviews before I booked. I wish I had! While the lobby is pristine and modern, the rest of the hotel is dilapidated. Our room had a large stain on the carpeting. In the bathroom, the wallpaper was dirty, the tub and sink slow to drain, and the toilet slow to flush. There was no fan in the bathroom, only two lights. The ceiling in our room was bulging in several places. It looked like there was a flood in the room upstairs and the ceiling wasn’t repaired, only painted over. Our air conditioning was set to 60 degrees and the fan blew constantly, but the room never cooled. We had excellent customer service, but the front desk clerk failed to mention the hotel shuttle service or the $25 fee to park in the parking garage. The concrete in the parking garage is literally crumbling. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and had to have the buffet because nothing else was offered. The food was lukewarm and overpriced. They didn’t even have half and half for coffee, only Coffee Mate. Overall, we were frustrated and disappointed for the price we paid. It’s hard to believe a Hilton hotel would be in this shape. Really, the only thing this hotel has going for it is its location.

My bestie and I took a trip to Cleveland last weekend and stayed here! Hotel was very quiet and comfortable. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. Special shout out to the woman bar tender that took the time to give the best advice for a night out with a printed map (also, really good food). She was spot on, it was so much fun. Also a special shout out to the shuttle driver we had, Carl, super nice guy and a joy to chat with on our ride. Highly recommended this hotel to anyone, great experience and great people.

The staff was helpful and friendly, and the location is good for getting around major places in downtown Cleveland. Yes, the bed was comfortable but the hotel needs updating and a good cleaning. The carpets were tired and rooms were prepared but not super clean (hallways not vacuumed, bathroom floor was not very clean, lamps full of dust, windows very dirty). Also note that their policy is to not make up your room (even empty the trash) until after you are there 3 days (though they will provide clean towels when asked).

  • 2/5 Realtor Casie C. 1 year ago on Google
Not really happy with the stay here, unfortunately. Pros: The bed was comfortable, AC worked well, room was generally in clean condition. CONS: I adjusted my stay from 3 nights to 2 nights, but was still charged for a third night stay and a third night of parking, even though I did check out) so I had to call for a reimbursement. When calling for a shuttle pickup you just get put on hold for a decently long time. The morning I was going to check out, before checkout time, housekeeping kept trying to open my door without knocking (the door was locked and cleaning was not requested). The coffee shop didn't have cold brew, espresso, or basically anything other than hot or iced coffee. The outside of the hotel is dirty, and my friends bed had bed bugs. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be coming back.

I didn’t “choose” this hotel personally. The group I was with made that mistake. I’ll get the kudos out first… Location is awesome!! Within walking distance of the main go to’s in the city. The staff was VERY courteous and accommodating!!! The rooms were clean. Stadium 3 (the hotels restaurant and bar) had great food and nice bar staff but seemed extremely under staffed. Most had to wait 15-20 minutes before ever getting waited on. Now for the bad news… First room I was in only ONE of the power outlets and charging stations worked!!!! Staff was very helpful in getting my room changed BUT the SECOND room only had TWO outlets that worked!!! SERIOUSLY?!!!!! I had several items that needed to charge (work related) and was able to make it work but still, not good at all!!! This hotel is in DIRE need of a renovation!!!! The first floor I was assigned to had wallpaper starting to peel off the walls and almost every door was in need of a fresh coat of paint. All in all, it’s not a “bad” hotel for the price considering it’s location. BUT it could DEFINITELY be improved on!!!

Overall a good stay. room was very clean standard room with microwave coffee refrigerator. it was close to downtown and a clean room good heating .shower could be hotter. The only reason I would rate 3 stars is it was on the pricey side $200 a night $25 for overnight parking $16 for breakfast being close to downtown made it worth the stay

Great shuttle service. Definitely needs updated. We tried to stay in room 307. ‘Tried’ because the heat didn’t work-it was freezing. There were no other rooms available and it couldn’t be fixed until the next day. We decided to leave…so much for a night downtown! I would not recommend this hotel.

  • 3/5 Mike W. 1 year ago on Google
It's a small thing but my biggest gripe is lack of power outlets. None by the bed and only one partially used by the desk. Otherwise not bad. Little older hotel. Metal tub did not drain well. Room was fine overall, very large screen TV. That was a plus. Exercise room was decent with dumbbells and three well maintained treadmills. There was a Peleton bike also. On site restaurant and bar. And a Starbucks also. Breakfast not included but buffet style. Location is great near football stadium and Rock and Roll H of F. I would stay there again, but would bring a power strip.

When we checked in the representative never mentioned my gold status and never asked if we had a car. She also didn't mention we had a $30 credit for each stay. We didn't get to use. Next day we asked maid service for 2 towels for the next day, and she stated she would bring them later. We never got them and called the front desk; they stated towels would be sent up. Never Happened. We couldn't get our car out of the parking garage; we were never told we needed a card. We had to backup call front desk, and someone came to let us out. We didn't know we needed a key card for the service because they never asked if we had a car. The next day we let them know our light above the mirror in the bathroom was not working, nothing happened. When we let them know about the light, we noticed a package with my last name on it on the back counter. I asked about it and they said oh someone must have dropped it off. It was a goodie bag from a wedding we were attending. We could have stayed at the Marriott at a discounted wedding rate and had a shuttle to and from the wedding, but I chose to stay at a Marriott Hotels because I always found it to be the best. Not this time! No one thanked me for being a loyal member or offered us water or any perks we have come to expect.

Not worth the price they charge. It was severely underwhelming. The TV is Samsung but they don’t offer anything besides basic cable. You’d think they offer connect to phone or streaming services. The bathroom could use some serious updating, along with the rooms. It’s very 2000’s from the furniture to the designs. You can tell the hotel has some age to it, but small upgrades could easily make up for that. The breakfast is exactly like every free hotel hot breakfast HOWEVER, they charge $17 for it. What you’d get free at a BW, they’re price gouging for. It’s those powdered eggs with those same potatoes you’ll find everywhere else. Not worth it at all. You can find much better out in town. They did offer free cookies, and those were good. The desk staff has a wonderful attitude and there’s always something to be said about that, in-fact all the staff we encountered seemed pleasant.

We were with a group for a family event. We had inquired about early check in for 2 out of the 6 reserved rooms. Both parties arrived at 12:30pm. The gentleman at the desk said it would be 30 more minutes. At that time we went to get a bite to eat. We returned at approximately 1:45 pm. The lady at the front desk said the rooms were still not ready but should be in 30 minutes. We waited in the lobby. There were several other people checking in while we waited. They had rooms. At 3:00 ( normal check in time) one room was ready. We waisted all this time waiting on a promised early check in. Our other party did not get their room until they were going to go to another hotel at 3:30pm. At that time a room was miraculously available. There was no complimentary coffee available. Only coffee for purchase in the morning. We dined as a group in the hotel restaurant. No coffee available with desert. No coffee for purchase until 7am. No food for purchase until 7am. We were in the lobby around 6:30am. We noticed the staff was able to get coffee and breakfast items before the guests; while working maybe. No help with older guest managing luggage carts. Only one Double Tree cookie per guest at check in. After that no cookies for the other days. Why bother promoting it. No one came in to spruce up the room. I asked for fresh towel after day two. The housekeeping employee said she had not planned on coming into the room but would give us fresh towels. She did not have hand towels on her cart but would bring two up. That never happened. I noticed rooms being cleaned on our floor even at 5pm. We will not stay there again and would not recommend Double Tree to anyone.

Our room was very outdated. The wallpaper was peeling; there was a good amount of dust in the corners. The light next to the bed didn't work. The duvet was stained on one bed, and the other bed didn't have a duvet but just a fleece blanket. Though we stayed in a two-queen room, we were only given one set of towels. When I called the front desk for another towel, we waited an hour with no towel delivery. I had to ask the cleaning staff for another towel while they were in our hallway. We were told we had a "lake view," which was kind of true, but we couldn't see the lake because of how dirty the windows were.

I wish I'd have read these reviews before booking. We were in from out of town for a show, and I wanted something relatively close to the venue. Trusting the Hilton name (we stay with Hilton/Hampton Inn almost every stay out of town), I chose this location. The gals at check in were nice enough and the gentleman we encountered at the desk when we returned in the evening was helpful as well. We will not be choosing this hotel again. I chose a room the day before when my check in was available. 3rd floor. When my digital key was delivered, I was informed that I"d been moved to the 6th floor. I chose the room originally because of the view and the proximity to the elevator. We were okay with the switch because we were still close to the elevator. While the location was ideal, the rooms were nice at first glance. While walking through the room, there were pieces of french fries and a couple other little pieces of trash under the bed skirts. I did get bit by something twice last night and we found an earwig in one of the beds. I had trouble sleeping and got up, noticed I had been bitten & went back to bed. Pulled back the comforter, and there was a bedbug. Needless to say, any hope of getting sleep last night was gone. I was going to go down for breakfast soon, but the reviews are so horrible and I can't justify paying $16 for breakfast for each of us. My kiddo literally eats like a bird. We will be checking out and not returning to this location. Sad, too. Like I said, the location is amazing & close to many things to do. This place needs an overhaul. And for what we paid for one night, I was sorely disappointed.

I'm sure at one point this was a wonderful hotel in a great location. Currently understaffed, and the hotel is showing its age. Does have convenient parking and a shuttle service for short trips. But our room wasn't ready on time and it took a couple of trips to the desk to get the extra bedding we needed. The service wasn't bad, and everyone was wonderful. It was just delayed and slow.

Very unprofessional, I had asked for room service 3 times and not done for my 4 night stay. Asked for shampoo and only towels were delivered. In addition, there isn't much available near this hotel. This compared to the Hilton at convention center was much better. My colleagues were staying there at a much nicer place with many places to eat and visit nearby. I had a bad experience and was blaming the city but I realized that it was this hotel and not the city itself. Even the iron that I used had left marks on my clothes.

The hotel needs to be updated. It is overpriced, there was not enough shampoo or soap for the amount of people that is slotted for the rooms. The room is dirty and the exhaust fan for the bathroom did not work. Breakfast is not provided for the price, the restaurant charges $16 per person and it is mediocre to bad. Perhaps the only saving grace is that it is located in downtown near the rock and roll hall of fame, but downtown Cleveland is “dead”. This is perhaps the strangest downtown experience I had ever had. Restaurants closes early, plenty of businesses are closed, it feels like a ghost town. Overall, please check other hotels for this price. $200+ per night in other cities like NY, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Munich will give you a decent experience, not here. Edit: The restaurant staff is awesome.

Our two night stay at DoubleTree by Hilton was great until it went very bad our last night. We used the shuttle service as we were traveling for an event. The shuttle has a last call of 10:45 and I called at 10:35. The driver blew right by us so we called to make sure he hadn't missed us at 10:50. We waited patiently until 11:15 before beginning the 20 minute walk back to the hotel. As we arrived back, the driver was standing in the lobby and we expressed that he forgot about us and his response was "yeah, I did." and offered excuses about game traffic that ended around 7pm. No apology was offered and the hotel staff this morning didn't seem too concerned with our experience last night. I can say without a doubt I can't recommend staying here if you rely on hotel services and we won't be returning here ourselves. Disappointed in this Cleveland visit.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay recently. Everything was incredibly clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Huge shout out to Carl, one of our shuttle drivers. He really took our trip from good to great. He was prompt for pick-ups and went out of his way to help us out during a mix-up with locations. We had a great time chatting during our drives and he definitely kept us laughing. The location of the hotel is great for visits to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and several top notch restaurants. We would certainly stay here again.
