Loved everything about this place. The food was delicious, the drinks were on point with top shelf brands and the service is outstanding. Live music can't be beat either.

Not bad, not great. Nice atmosphere, well stocked bar and nice, but slow service. We waited quite a long time to get our food, maybe 40 minutes? The restaurant was maybe 2/3 full. Our waitress was very nice but stressed, so we were thinking maybe they were understaffed or having some other issue. The food was good but a little boring, and maybe not quite worth the price. The sauce sampler was fun with fries. Definitely prioritize fries or Mac and cheese over a side salad - you'll be extra sad. We left not feeling disappointed per se, but also like it wasn't quite worth it.

Pros: - Friendly and fast service. - Warm and inviting ambiance with an outdoor heated patio as well as live music. - Cocktails were creative and tasty. Cons: - "Cajun food" is not an adequate description of their food. Flavor is a halmark of traditional Cajun cuisine, and the food that they served lacked seasoning to say the least. - Overpriced for the quantity and quality of what is served. Their jambalaya consisted of mainly rice with very little sausage, chicken, and shrimp. While the pork belly was tender, there was no flavor in the meat and the sides left much to be desired. I recommend getting the side of fries rather than the salad which was ordinary and very small for the price of the meal.

What a great place to enjoy dinner. Dined on the patio with guest who couldn't say enough about Papa's Place. Will be back when in town.

The food, the servers, the ambiance are fantastic. With patio heaters on we could have stayed all night. A great place to eat with friends, family or by yourself. ☆☆☆☆☆

Fabulous little restaurant. Food is good and the bread pudding is amazing! Lovely atmosphere and live music. We stumbled across it on the first night of our stay and ended up back on the second.

I do not understand how this place has good ratings. It’s 90 degrees inside the building at all times. Our server forgot our order multiple times, left our drinks at the bar for several minutes, didn’t give us silverware. The food has the same quality as a TGI Fridays. If it was busy I would understand, but we were one of two tables inside the entire restaurants. Once we finished our food, we had to wait 20 minutes for the server to come speak to us. Was he busy? No. He was standing around the bar chatting. No food was on the table, all our waters were empty, and yet, he did not approach for 20 minutes. An hour dinner took nearly 2 and a half because of our server standing around. It’s an example of someone who knows nothing about the service industry opening a restaurant because they see it as a good business opportunity. Downtown Clovis is, sadly, full of these type of restaurants.

The food is really good. The waitresses and bartender are topnotch. It's a small place, it has an old time feeling which is nice. The deep fried strawberries were sooooooo good.

Can you say yummm! You certainly can’t say no to deep fried fresh strawberries! Or maybe the bread pudding?A big yes to Maple pecan cheese cake!

Papa's place is one of those local spots that is just easy and comfortable. You see the same staff working there on the daily which is fun because you can easily develop a relationship with the servers and bartender which makes it feel like a family! One of my friends described this place as his "Cheers" spot - the local bar where you can show up regularly and everyone knows your name! The drinks here are really good if you're interested in craft cocktails. The bartender is constantly making seasonal syrups and has a great knowledge of mixology so you can request pretty much anything (belive me, I've had him make some wild tiki drinks!) and he can make it happen, down to crushing his own ice just to make it special. The ambiance is unfortunately in need of updating but when the weather is nice it's best to sit on the patio and enjoy the live music and the quaint outside dining area. The food is on the heavier side and nothing is really gourmet, but it's great if you want comfort food. They also come out with weekly specials which are always fun to try. Overall I come here often for the sense of warmth that the staff bring as well as the great drinks, and it's nice that they have delicious pickle chips, mac n cheese, pit beef, and churro donuts as well 😉

Papa's place was the place to be! I had the Macallan burger and fries and it was to die for! My wife ordered the jambalaya and my daughter has the Bavarian pretzel sticks and cheese and both were so good! Definitely will be back!

I stopped by for a quick drink and an appetizer on my last day in town. They had live music on the patio but I arrived late and decided to take an open seat at the bar. I had the Glenn Haven cocktail and it was so delicious and refreshing!! If you like sweet drinks with coconut rum (read: Malibu bay breeze girlies), you will love this drink! I ordered the loaded mac & cheese fries and they were pretty good! Thick cut fries are always a win. The mac and cheese was very creamy so if you like it cheesier or thick, it’s not for you. The fried chicken on top was by far my favorite part and made the whole dish worth it. Loses 1 star for the atmosphere/decoration… definitely seemed run down and like the place could use an upgrade. Service was decent, bartender was busy so I can’t really blame him! Overall a good experience and I have high hopes for the full menu options!!

Staff was very accommodating. I primarily went to hear friends performing. The place was packed and there were no tables available. I explained why I was there and, since I was planning to stay for friends' entire gig, I was willing to wait in the breezeway until a table became available. My wait was short and was exactly where I was hoping to sit. I only ordered a couple of glasses of wine during my time there but the waitress was very attentive and friendly. I truly do enjoy going to Papa's Place when my friends, Fire and Rain, perform there.

Just tried going, something seemed a little off. We went in to be seated and, even though there was a table available to our left as we entered, having no reserved table sign, the hostess said there were no tables available. Plus, there were tables available outside. When my wife asked how long of a wait to be seated at a table, the hostess said she didn't know. Very odd. We left, since it seemed they were OK without our business. The hostess was not apologetic at all.

Excellent service. The atmosphere was pleasant and the music wasn't too loud for conversations. Will definitely be returning for more food and drinks. The bartender, Christian is very knowledgeable. Great place!

Pros: great location, friendly staff, decently timed service. Cons: our server seemed like they hadn’t tried anything, when asked if they enjoyed a certain drink or dish we got a lot of “I haven’t tried that one yet but it looks good and others seem to enjoy it” to everything we inquired about. Our drinks definitely had cheeeap liquor in them. I got their tequila sangria and was extremely disappointed in the taste. Tequila had that cheap bite to it, and it basically had a wine floater so it wasn’t really a sangria at all - more like a juicy cocktail with a wine floater. My husbands drink wasn’t any better. We ordered the pretzel and cheese dip for an app and the cheese was good but not spectacular. The pretzel wasn’t bad but the texture of it was like it was heated up in a microwave-very chewy. We had the intention of having dinner and everything there, but ended up leaving and going elsewhere because we felt like any other food and drink wouldn’t be good and worth the cost. Each drink and app was at or above $15 and if we would’ve know our drinks were priced that high, we would’ve sent them back. But staff was attentive and friendly. The vibe isn’t bad but definitely not what we were expecting. The restaurant feels dated and oddly laid out too, but it is clean.

The One Restaurant in Clovis where I feel "at home!" Pork Belly's a must have, perfectly crisp fry's. Everything is Yummy. Excellent love music Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Harrison Rocks the Drinks and the warmth of Paula is worth longing for!

Papa’s Place was alright. The wife and I piped in for dinner tonight. I was a little out off because it’s a small place and they had live music and it was a little loud and the band wasn’t that great lol. We started out with the fried green beans which were ok, I had the pork belly and it was just ok to, the wife had the cob salad and she enjoyed it. Service was good, parking was good and ambiance was ok too. I’d go back again if I had to haha. Go check them out and have your own experience

Amazing place with Great food and drinks. We enjoyed our time outside with the live band and dancing. I would definitely recommend coming here to just relax or definitely a great spot for a date night. I will definitely be back.

We absolutely love Papa's Place! Always great service and delicious food! My kids loved the mac n cheese (huge portion) and I even snuck a few bites, too! Fried Pickles are very good and remind me of my time spent in the south. Definitely recommend.
