Very yummy! Highly recommend Seed. We had the cod and salmon with the corn grit fritter appetizer. Very good dining choice, we will return.

Didn't realize when we called this place it's part of the Seed restaurant so when we arrived we were seated by staff for dining and it was a bit confusing. Once we figured out where we were actually supposed to be next door things were better. We had some flights of wine and couple different foods, everything was good. We also tried out their burger for the heck of it and it was really great. Glad to have come here.

A friend an I thought we were going to have dinner at Seed. However, with no reservations and no open seats at the bar we were advised we could try Stem Wine bar. Stem wine bar is essentially a sister company to Seed. We walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar. The Female bar tender with blonde hair poured us a glass of water, but did not offer a smile or a name. The energy she gave off is that she did not want to help us!! Paul did come over and asked if he could assist us. He was a lot more helpful than the blonde female bar tender. Note that Since this is a wine bar they serve tapas style items. There is only one entree available and it is a burger. We ordered Brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, shrimp, goat cheese dip and paella. The Brussels came out within minutes of placing our order. They offered a new take on Brussels. They were drenched in an oil based sauce, mixed with apples, and bacon. They were decent. Nothing that I would recommend, but also if I had to eat them again I would. Next the deviled eggs arrived( serving of 1.5 eggs). They were beyond disappointing. There was a hint of a truffle taste. I have had the deviled eggs from Seed and they are 10 times better than the ones offered at the wine bar. The shrimp came out next. They are served with bread. The shrimp are served sitting in a butter sauce. This dish was also just ok. The paella finally came out. This was the item that really disappointed me. This tasted like nothing. Literally the worst tasting paella I have ever eaten. The rice tasted like the rice that comes out of the bag that you cook in the microwave. The dish was salty, and it was not served in a cast iron dish as most paellas are. They should change the name of this dish to rice mix, or something more fitting. The goat cheese dip was another disappointing item. This tasted like warm cream cheese topped with some meat. When asked what was used to make this item, we were told that it's cream cheese, Parmesan cheese and goat cheese. However, this is what the menu reads: baked goat cheese dip: Medjool Dates, Bacon, Pistachio, Balsamica, Baguette. The name of this dip is very misleading. It's primarily cream cheese topped with goat cheese. Overall this was a disappointing dining experience. I would recommend that if you are not able to dine at Seed skip this place. I would hate for you to experience this first and fail to experience the greatness of Seed.

I attend one of the wine tasting for the first time. What and awsome experience. The service, atmosphere and food was exceptional. Not to mention the wine selection. My friend and I ended up buying 4 bottles of wine after the tasting. I will definitely go again and would highly recommend the wine tasting.

We celebrated our anniversary on a date here and oh my God it was wonderful!!! They were so so thoughtful. From the menu customization (Happy anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Buckenmeyer on top ❤) to setting up a table for us to that wonderful complementary cheesecake (yum!!!) they gave us in the end, it was incredible. We had the Napa Reserve wine flight to start with followed by a glass of Jordan 2015 Cab and Cain concept 2012 Red Blend. I really liked their wine selection. The tapas were also delicious!!! We had paella, scallops and fried artichokes. Everything was delicious and I was especially impressed with the scallops... Overall great place for a date or girls night out or just enjoying some wonderful food and wine. Reservations are recommended and the servers wore mask and it was very clean and safe (important to specify it these days) Can't wait to go back!

If you love wine, stop by. Flights, glass or bottle, they have what you want. You can get a cocktail too if wines not your thing. Get a little bite with that beverage. You won't be disappointed with anything.

Love love loved the monthly wine experience. This month was Washington and Oregon and the food and wine were both excellent. Will definitely be back, it’s worth the drive. Definitely recommend the crème brûlée.

We have been going to Stem more frequently for their weekly wine tastings, which are hosted most Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights. Each month is a different theme and the wine will be available for purchase afterwards. The tastings are served with "small bites" that are an experience all by themselves! You can also order a range of appetizers from the menu if you would like something additional to eat. After the 6 tastings, they also offer 2 reserve tastings for an additional fee. Brian, the sommelier, is very knowledge and keeps it fun! Highly recommend for a low key evening out. They also offer private weekend tasting for groups if you can't do a week night.

Very disappointed. I brought some girlfriends here for a GNO(girls night out). This is supposed to be a Wine Bar that didn't have any form of Moscato 😱 bubbly or regular. Small plates were just average .

The place is good but the food quality is not up to the expectation, when you pay such a high price. But if you are for wine testing and desert - it is a good place to go.

Had lunch on a busy Saturday. Service was excellent. Five ladies that ordered the same special lunch, cod sandwich, salad and butternut squash soup. Delicious. Highly recommend.

We had a great night here, pretty place too. Food was prix fixe for Valentines, and it added up but worth it for a special occasion. I wish they had a few more Italian or French reds to choose from but we enjoyed what they did have.

Seed Restaurant! Love the place for the food, service and ambiance. When my girlfriends and I were finally able to meet in person- there was only one place to go. Our favorite restaurant Seed!

Paul was amazing as our host for wine tasting. He was a wealth of information and incredibly kind and generous with his time. My daughter will never forget this experience and it helped her immensely with geography of wine course at Virginia tech. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!

I am not sure how they have 4.7 stars, this place is not so good. We have been in places a lot better, they have run out from too many wines in the menu which is forcing you to settle. Food needs to be improved, stale bread, The Shrimp Al Ajilo was simply bad, bowl full of oil and garlic with few shrimps. Bottom line, unless it was a bad evening I will suggest other places to go to.
