Beautiful. Clean and well laid-out paths are marked and have maps along the trails. Quiet and serene. Parking lot is clean and safe (but smallish).

Nice park! I enjoyed our hike. The terrain is very organic, so if you're looking for flat and easy, this is not for you. As others have said, the signage could be better. Will be back!

What a great place to visit! It was an easy hike down to the ruins, through a lush green forest dappled with sunlight. Quite a few other visitors for a weekday, but plenty of terrain to share. Only complaint is that the maps were hard to read (for me, but I was born without a hint of an internal compass) Lovely photos to be taken and refreshing currents to dip feet into...Perfect rewards after getting lost on the way down.

This was a quick walk to the ruins and the terrain was kind of bumpy but very shaded. I really enjoyed this walk down to the ruins and the creek. Very relaxing once you get down there.

Plenty of well marked, easy trails and lots of history. In a pretty special neighborhood along the high banks of the Chattahoochee. Limited parking that gets full on beautiful weekends.

Saw some old building ruins from Paper Mill Rd so we decided to check it out. Parking was easy. Walk to the ruins was not that far. The trails were cleared of debri and easy to follow. When u get to the ruins it is beautiful and right on the river. Plenty of rocks to climb on and a small waterfall. Great place.

Enjoyed a cool, crisp early morning hike through Sope Creek trails in late May. It was only 60 degrees which made for a delightful morning walk.

I love this park. The creek is beautiful, and the runs are really neat. There's a small ruin fairly close to the parking lot that's pretty easy to get to. The runs in the pic are not an easy hike, but worth it. There's also a small pond in the park

Great place for hiking, mountain biking, dipping your feet in the water and taking instagram photos by the ruins. Few important things to keep in mind: - pay attention to the maps and stay on the easy course if you are not familiar or don’t have proper shoes for hiking. It is easy to get lost if you go of course from the easy course which is marked clearly on the map. - if your main intention is to so instagram photoshoot, stay to the far left path that runs along paper mill road and it will take you by the ruins down the hill about half a mile. - not a place to during rainy days when the ground is wet, moderate ups and down, gravel etc can be slippery. - wear good hiking or walking shoes and have water with you. - free parking off of paper mill road, watch for the sign as there is only one parking area. Limited parking spots but just wait and someone will leave or go early during weekends or during week days. - I am sure there are snakes but I haven’t run into one but always be mindful and watch your steps not for snakes but so your don’t sprain or twist your ankle as some paths are steep and rocky. - Enjoy. Things to do: - hiking - mountain biking, - photoshoot by the ruins - i have see folks fishing at the pond - hop rocks along the shoal and dip your feet in the water.

Pretty cool ruins! About a half mile from the Sope Creek Trail Head parking area and at the edge of an elaborate nature trail system (more like a corn maze for adults). Definitely worth seeing. Burnt down by the Union troops during the Civil War as it supplied the Confederates with paper for currency along with twine and newsprint. It was rebuilt after the war and operated until 1902.

luckily i keep a national parks pass, so i didnt really have to worry about parking but there was a plethora of parking. i believe this is one of those parks you can keep coming back to and finding new trails and great views. it was super cool that you get to walk right into the ruins! there were buildings on both sides and pretty little wild flowers along the sides of the trails. definitely a must go, especially if youre a local! so many options in chattahoochee national park.

The paper mill ruins are cool to see, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to see them. If you’re going on a hike in this area, then you should check it out! Good for unique photo shoots. I went for a hike on a 9:00 am on a Friday in July. It wasn’t crowded at all and there was plenty of parking. They have dog waste bins and other secure trash cans at the trailhead. There was also a water fountain. The signage was really good and the trails were well-marked. There were signs at every fork we passed. The creek, pond, and paper mill are all nice to see. You can hear the traffic at certain parts on the trail, but it’s separated enough. Minimal elevation change. Shaded with trees. Great place for a leisurely walk.

Pretty cool area. The ruins were awesome to see and climb through. The river nearby is gorgeous. The trails in other areas were good to hike. Nothing too strenuous, but not wheelchair accessible at all. Too many roots, etc.

It “burned a second time” what a joke. This literal castle was demolished and fire does not do that. Like many of our old world buildings, we will never know the real history behind them. Great evidence of a hidden history we know nothing about.

Absolutely stunning! So far my favorite part of my trip! It says easy, but it was a little challenging for someone overweight, but my teenager navigated it very easily.

Parking isn't free and make sure you don't leave anything in plain sight in the car. It is a interesting place especially the river. It takes about a couple of hours to get tired of the site but the trails are very well marked.

Even though parking can be kinda a pain, sope creak is great. Awesome trails that aren't too hard for the kids, Ruins, places to get in the creek, and a pond for fishing. Oh, and mountain biking. Incredible.

Sope Creek is a beautiful and very scenic trail, BUT be warned…I had my debit and credit cards stolen out of my wallet that was kept in my LOCKED car while I was hiking earlier today. The parking lot has a sign that says “High Theft Area.” While the park is historic and picturesque, I won’t be back unless they put security cameras in the parking lot. If you decide to go, the views won’t disappoint you, but leave ALL valuables at home!

Awesome trails! There is a bike path and a bike-free path where you have to watch your step to not trip on roots or slip in mud. Lots of dogs on and off leash. Most of the off leash dogs were well-mannered seniors. There was 1 out of control puppy, and I'm not sure why the humans removed the leash bc the road is a quick jaunt through the woods. The humans we passed ranged in age from pre-k to retirees, so it's definitely a place the whole family can enjoy. 1 trail was closed, and another looked closed (but wasn't). We can't wait to return! 💚

Wonderful trail with delightful ruins. Great for photoshoots! The river is fun to splash in during the summer as well.

I love coming here to hike. Lots of rocks and debris on the trails, but it's nature so I'm not complaining. Lots of trails, easy and hard. Quick brisk 20 minute walk to one part of the ruins. So peaceful and relaxing! I've had some great hikes here with my family! You gotta check out the Ruins sometime!

Sope Creek Trails had abundant parking on a Thursday. Perhaps 6 cars when we arrived and 20-ish spots. Bring your dog, your bike, your sneaks and maybe a light spray of mosquito repellent. On a Sunday lucked out getting a spot as someone was leaving. This loop allows you to explore the park’s highlights; the trails are abundant on both sides of Sope’s rocky creek bed before looping to the placid waters of Sibley Pond (if your hubby doesn't mess about and slide on a rock and fall in-yup, he did that on the weekday, so we went back on Sunday). If you want to get to the Ruins quickly, download from All trails or another trail application because the trail signs/markers don't indicate where to go. Sope Creek Trails are covered quite nicely so you won't burn up. Feels 10 degrees cooler here! Plus, so much quieter. The hike departs at the Sope Creek trailhead and there are maps at every turn guiding your way, they do tell you no bikes or bike path. Do be careful on weekends...if you walk where bikes go and have small kids...the bike guys come pretty fast (some not all) you may want to stick to the paths that have no bikes). If you can go weekdays vs weekend so quiet and more enjoyable. But go, enjoy and just kick around the many trails :)

This is a great trail and included if you have a National Park pass. The trails down to the ruins and water is pretty well marked and easy to follow. Other trails were good as well, just watch out for mountain bikers on the shared trails.
