Buying tickets online was easy and effortless, we got there alittle late due to monsoon rains that day, just made our tour. You can’t bring bags in the tour with you so we choose to do the gift shop after the tour, but we didn’t realize that the gift shop closed early, so when our tour was done the gift shop was closed, that was a huge bummer for my daughter she couldn’t get rocks. I took my 6 year old daughter who loves rocks and caves! She loved it! Definitely wear a jacket and pants, it’s freezing down there. I went here as a kid, and it was time to carry the tradition down to the next generation. Tour guides were informative and nice, our tour was a bit rushed, you couldn’t just stop and admire the cave, you had to look while keep moving. The tour guide stops at important areas but just felt rushed. Most of the attractions around the place were closed, so we didn’t really get the whole effect of the place but would go again in a few years.

Cool spot to visit! Very organized tour in a colorful cave and a fun boat ride included inside and then you walk back out the same way, friendly staff that takes you around. The group size was around 20-30 when I went (a few months ago around the Labor Day break). There's also a secret cave nearby but I didn't have time to go there this time, will have to come back again in the future! Book the tickets online in advance to reserve the time you like, they recommend coming 30 minutes early but we ended up getting here late (from fixing a flat tire on the way) by 10 minutes and they took us to our group to catch us up right away, great experience overall and I'd definitely recommend it to others. You do have to wait a bit when walking around to wait for the group but not too bad.

Went on a Sunday, father's day. Was pretty busy but every group gets their own tour guide. I wish I would of known it was going to be cold in the caves, they said the weather doesn't change, and is usually 50 degrees with a cold draft, so take a sweater! Has about 180 stairs throughout, I have knee issues sometimes but I was able to comfortably climb whenever it was necessary. It's about a half mile to the little boat ride and a half mile walk back. I highly recommend it!

I grew up in upstate NY and used to love going here as a child. Just went as an adult and I LOVED it! Our tour guide was fantastic and had a hilarious sense of humor. Made every minute interesting. The caves themselves were so beautiful! Loved all the different colored lights, and especially enjoyed the boat ride. It was breathtaking! Will absolutely visit again.

Wow, amazing experience for all the family members, from little ones to seniors. All the great staff were super friendly and professional. The motel was great, super clean, and very comfortable. It has a beautiful pool that you will enjoy after a long day traveling. The tour staff were super professional and knowledgeable. We’ll come back with more friends.

10/10 would recommend to anyone! The caverns are amazing and the commentary from our tour guide was fantastic. This was the last stop on a mini road trip for us and we were so impressed by the experience. It's beautiful. Our tour was thankfully very small (9 of us) but other tours passing us was very large and the guide said they go up to 36 people per group. We just happened to be lucky, but keep that in mind. We went on a random Wednesday afternoon at 245 pm and was very happy with the small group. If you're anywhere near here, it's worth the stop. Oh, its very cold, bring something warm.

It’s was a fun and cool activity. The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. It was a fair distance of a walk not too long not too short. One thing that is important to remember for the summer days, is to bring a sweater and long pants because it’s a constant 52 degrees down there year round. If you do forget they have a gift shop that sell warm sweaters and hoodies. Besides that happy exploring 😊.

We really enjoyed the tour at Howe Caverns! It was so beautiful down there! Our tour guide, Mal, was awesome! He was very knowledgeable about the cavern, and had a lot of great stories for us. The boat ride was a lot of fun,and the total darkness experience was pretty cool! I wish I had taken more pictures. It was very cold for me, but I don't have a great tolerance for the cold. Definitely bring a sweatshirt if you don't like the cold. And make sure you wear good shoes.

A very fun experience! The caverns are well lit and maintained. The tours are decent sizes, but not overwhelming and the tour guides do great jobs making sure everyone is included. The tour is mainly walking with several sections of stairs, but there is a smaller section where you are seated on small boats. Overall, I think a whole family would have a great time together! There is a pretty large size gift shop in the upper levels of the facilities.

Nice above ground facilities! Beautiful underground cave! Wish the Cafe had been open past 4pm when our tour finished. Will need to be able to walk a mile and climb a few sets of stairs for the cave tour. Don't forget a sweatshirt or light jacket for the tour. Great place for families!

Loved it!! We stayed in the motel which was amazing. Great room, beautiful bathroom. My son and I loved the caves. I was a little worried because I have a little claustrophobia but the caverns are so spacious that I didn't have any problems. Loved the boat ride and I even liked the winding caverns. The tour guide George was so knowledgeable and he had a great sense of humour. We had a super time.

This place was really cool I didn't know if I was going to like it as much as I did this was my first time in a cave. The tour is awesome there is all kinds of awesome things to see and it's just a different feeling being over a hundred feet underground. The boat ride was just the top and all. Our tour guide April was top-class very intelligent right on point with everything. April probably the best tour guide they have. They also have this awesome other tour will you go cave spelunking in a place that they just opened up to the public after a hundred years that is my next visit. All in all this is a very family-friendly , they have a small cafeteria on site with an eating area anda gift shop and fudge store.

Definitely a must visit for any person who thinks wandering a cave that took millions of years to form is cool! Tour guides are very knowledgeable and have their own way of making the tour their own. This is my third visit, my other two being when I was in middle and high school. It was awesome to see this place again and get good photos of it. It's a very easy walk full of beautiful rocks and formations. I hope they reopen the natural tours soon. I'm very interested to see what lies beyond the pitch black hole at the end of the boat ride. The only thing was they didn't turn all the lights off on the boat! I remember they used to do that and it was one of the coolest parts of the experience. It's chilly but humid. It was a comfortable temperature for me but I tend to be a bit warm normally anyways.

We went here as part of a vacation where we were camping near this area. The cave tour was fantastic. It lasted just long enough that the kids remained interested in what was going on the majority of the time, and there were plenty of different things to see in the cave that kept them involved. The short boat ride at the end was also very fun, and broke up the walking portions nicely while providing a different experience. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area, though you'll want to make sure you're not claustrophobic (though I suppose that should go without saying on any cave tour).

$25 is very reasonable for a 90 min tour. The young man that did the tour was very professional and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed it especially the boat ride. My only complaint is other patrons behavior - nobody needs to hear your thoughts on everything, understand that when they say don't touch, don't touch and during the rather tranquil boat ride, keep your children's voices down.... On the whole, a great place to spend the afternoon.

A very unique experience! A great activity for a hot summer day to escape the heat. Our tour ended up taking 2 hrs rather than 90 minutes so just be aware in case you have a time constraint. The walk is easy with lots of breaks and our four year old handled it no problem. Definitely recommend!

Had a great visit with my 13y/o granddaughter. Took in the afternoon cave tour and really enjoyed ourselves. Purchased tickets online ahead of time without any difficulty. Trip consists of both a walking tour and a small boat trip on a cavern lake. “Gondola” type pole push and guides hands on the sides of the cavern walls. On-site cafe, candy shop, and gift shop. 3 hours total maximum.

Thank You Tony for guiding us thru the Caverns! We had a wonderful time at Howe Caverns :) He kept us Safe & Secure. Next time, we will have to check out the Secret Caverns. We picked up the package that included Gems Sifting and Sweet Treats! We also stayed the night :) The room was perfect and cozy. Do not skip the Windy Way!! Check out the photos and videos :)

This was a nice day trip. A bit of a drive, but it's worth it to see the caverns. They are beautiful. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and comedic. He definitely made the trip. This would be a great trip for all ages. Young and old would enjoy this as their is lots to see. A definite recommendation.

Definitely wear a hoodie/sweater with long pants since it’s underground with 52 degrees temperatures. A very fun place and totally worth going! It’s like an 90 minutes escape into another world! We got the traditionally tour 90 min tickets online, and booked the same day we went since they were lots of slots available. Cannot go in with purse, bags, water or anything, so make sure you get whatever needed before going in. It has some light inside but not as bright like outdoor so it make sense to carry as little as possible or nothing, since there’s also a short boat ride and narrow tunnel. Tunnel part was so fun!

Great experience for the family to learn about the caverns that has existed for millions of years. Make sure to dress appropriately as temps in the caverns are around a constant 52degrees. Some folks will get cold after being down there after the first hr. So wear pants, a long sleeve shirt, and jacket. The tour guides looked like college kids who seem to know their facts and the scripts to use. So overall was a good tour to do. I say make sure to tip your guides as they are not only giving you facts and details, they manage the boat ride as well that requires some physical effort on their end.

Cool place to visit, literally. Wear a sweatshirt and long pants as it's always 52 degrees in the cave. Excellent guides perfect for the whole family. Hit the brewery after

My husband brought me for the sweetheart package. We had such a good time. We had a lantern walk thru the cave, and Alex, the tour guide was so good. We had 2 small bottles of champagne in our room and a box or gome.ade fudge. I got to mine a big bag of sand for minerals and rocks. I loved it. It was a nice little getaway for the two of us. I recommend it very much.

This experience really exceeded my expectations. To start, the facility is beautiful and the staff were very organized and efficient with getting the tour groups going. Our tour guide was so sweet, funny, and knowledgeable and really made the tour even cooler. The caverns were so stunning - the boat ride and the narrow winding bit at the end were my favorite parts.

I'm a little claustrophobic so that was interesting especially the last part of the tour where they take you through a very tight maze. Funny thing is it ended up being my favorite part. I also loved when we were on the boat and they turn the lights off in the cave so you could see how dark it is. This was an amazing tour and I want to come back with the rest of my family. Definitely would recommend it to everyone of all ages

The caverns were really amazing to look at. The tour guide we had was very enthusiastic about what he was doing and saying throughout the tour. Our tour was a little overtime, but it was a very well-used 15 minutes. The photos that you are able to capture down there are fantastic and very well at capturing what your eye is seeing. 100% recommend going here.

I enjoyed my trip immensely!!! My boyfriend and I had a great time. Would be a perfect 5 stars but unfortunately, we found it difficult to capture great photos with the obnoxious colored lights all over... makes it difficult and or impossible to capture the natural hues and colors of the caverns. Would have enjoyed it more if the colored lights were a more natural or white light color.

You cannot bring a bag into your tour no backpacks leave them in your car. You can always come back for it later if you want to shop. Also no food in the caves. Dress warm it's 50 degrees in the caves in July. Tour was great though loved it. Also no open toed shoes wear sneakers the floors are wet and it is cold and can be slippery.

  • 5/5 Kristina P. 11 months ago on Google
Make sure you bring a jacket! The cave is 52 degrees. The tour guide had a sense of humor and was educational. It was beautiful to be able to see. Definitely would recommend anyone to come here and experience it! 😊

This place is amazing! It's definitely a fun and informative place to check out. Our tour was almost 2 hours, and it didn't even seem that long. We were having so much fun it just flew by. It's great to bring your kids or for just for a fun date. And at the end, they have some cool stuff in the gift shop and some tasty snacks to buy. My favorite is the cheese! So good!

It’s been about ten years since our last visit. We brought our 5 year old daughter with us and did the traditional tour. The caves have not changed but seeing everything through our daughters eyes was very cool. Always love the funny humor of the guides. Our guide was Braeden and he was funny and informative. We had a great time on our tour.

Definitely worth going. It a really interesting caver with a boat ride underground. We booked a 3 pm tour. It takes 1.5 hrs to complete it. There are upto 30 ppl in a tour group. It's definitely worth it. Best part was the boat ride at the end of the tour. The boat ride end at a underground falls where we turn around and come back. At the end you get to experience total darkness which is kinda cool.

Great time on our 2nd grade field trip! Bit of a long wait at the checkouts, especially in the sweet shop. But overall awesome time and decent prices. Tour guide was great as well.
