Nice place. We stayed at the hotel-in a room for 3. Clean and spacy with balcony. Very nice aqua Mundo with outdoor heated pool as well with lots of slides for small kids as well as adults. Only regret is that there is no “open field” to play football as you have to book and pay for 30 min to play. Could be nice if this was free of charge as kids could meet other kids this way. Breakfast buffet was really great but all other food inside the dome is average. There is some better restaurants 1 km away.

The place is good but the service in terrible. Yesterday I saved life to the boy who was sinking in the swimming pool. No one of centerparcs life guard was nearby. Today we were not allowed to take our purchases from supermarket with the car to the cottage and was not helped by staff. It's like no service here at all.

The facilities and what they have to offer kids are good, the accommodations okay and the customer service hit or miss. Some of the staff were super friendly and nice to the kids whereas some were less enthused. Of all the family resorts we’ve visited, I would not choose to come back to this one based on the poor experiences we had with some of the unfriendly staff members. The kind staff members *just* about make up for the unkind ones. One specific note - There are plenty of things to do for the kids but make sure to be punctual for anything you have pre-booked and paid for. If you’re even a few minutes late (our fault), they will give away your spots and not offer you a refund. They were super rude about it and refused to refund any money and we had to fight for a credit which they determined would be for mini golf which the kids were not interested in. Again, our fault, but they could’ve have been nicer about it. Kindness goes a long way even when delivering bad news. Thankfully Lillian was there to offer some kindness in a frustrating moment. We encountered a friendly server at the Family Grill, a kind hostess at the Market Restaurant and a smiling cashier in the supermarket during the week we were here. Most of the staff just seemed indifferent. Most activities come with a premium price tag so be prepared for that. I would challenge the management to encourage their staff members to practice positively, to smile and to remember that they are in the service industry. Customers should not be made to feel like they are an inconvenience to them. Good customer service goes a long way for everyone and makes a material difference in the quality of the experience. It can make the difference between okay and great.

Was an awesome trip with an amazing pool in which we were every day! Apart from them changing our house from one with a larger sofa to one with 3 small uncomfortable sofas it was good. We paid extra money for the comfort house with larger sofa and didn't get it, that's why I give it 4 stars.

Never again. Never!! This facility doesn't even deserve 1 star. unfriendly Staff, dirty rooms, lack of information about many crucial things. They just wanna milk your money, when you first book, you have no worth anymore.

We stayed at the park for 4 nights with two kids (6,11) and a dog 🐕. Overall I would rate the park the facilities about 3.5 stars. We stayed in the most basic cottage (comfort), and basic it definitely was. I have absolutely no complaints about the kitchen, appliances and bathrooms (there were 2 but no blow dryer!) but the furniture is anything but comfortable. The beds were absolutely awful and the linnens we were given after paying for the bedding package were ripped (see picture). The aqua Mundo is definitely great and entertained the kids very well, it's clean, convenient (kids can use the slides alone) and large enough not to feel too crowded. Make other arrangements for food, the restaurants at the resort are really bad, not tasty, expensive and absolutely all the serving staff speak only German.

Room was not as clean as you'd expect it to be, you had to pay extra for bed sheets and towels (we paid 45 Euro for 4 people) yet the bed sheets were old (probably been washed a 1000 times before) and the pillows and blankets were indeed a bit disgusting. But the staff were friendly, the aqua park was so-so. There was a grill restaurant which was surprisingly very good.

There are definitely some hits and misses with this place. Cons : -The check in process and the direction to the hotel could be better. We had trouble finding the entrance to our hotel amongst pouring rain. -There are various heavy duty fireproof doors from our room to the market area which are just really a hassle without automatic or electronic door opener. And there are also some areas where there are no ramp. I think that's definitely worth improving as a hotel marketed for kids. - the food and gastronomy is average at best. Pros : - very nice renovated rooms, huge bed, large shower -plenty of changing and locker spaces in Aqua Mundo - very practical electric bracelet Overall I think preschoolers and older kids would enjoy the park a lot. From the adult point of view, it is a bit lacking but there are some nice improvements after the renovations.

The cashier at the ‘’Gametown winners only’’ was so slow and tried to cheat in order not to give us any winned presents and that caused for other people waiting in the long line. And plus there was no internet in our booked house. So bad service everywhere and unfriendly staff. Zero stars!!!

We stayed 4 days 3 nights in a premium cottage. The rooms were clean. We had no negative issues with the rooms. We spent most of our time at Aqua Mundo. The pool is very nice clean and warm. This place is recommended for families with children less than 12. There are not so many attractions for teenagers and adults

Perfect place for your kids. Clean water, super friendly workers, they always answer in English as well. Super careful life saver, nice house and you can find everything inside the cottage. Only the weather was cold but aqua mundo was perfectly warm. Definetely recommend

I used to love it here, been visiting since years until I gave birth, visited with my 8 months baby but realised its not baby- friendly place, you have to always carry the baby/kid stroller on the stairs esp if you want to go in or out of to d hotel, it's also not wheelchair friendly.. also the bathroom ain't suitable for babies nor kids, it's slippery. No room telephone to call the reception ..had to walk all the way to d reception as no towel in my hotel room only to be told that they will send someone to bring it when I would v simply called the reception for it. They need to improve on their breakfast buffet but dinner buffet, I will recommend, there r different varieties every evening & foods sumptuous.

If you're planning a family getaway in Hochsauerland, the "Kids Cottage Premium 4 persons" at Center Parcs is a top-notch choice. This cozy accommodation felt like a home away from home. The cottage comes fully equipped, ensuring all your culinary needs are met, from a well-stocked kitchen with utensils, fridge, and a combo of electric oven/microwave, to a toaster and electric stove. The two-storey layout was thoughtfully designed with families in mind. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: one tailored for children with a fun bunk bed setup and even a baby crib, and another for parents that also includes a crib for those traveling with infants. With two bathrooms, morning routines were a breeze. But what truly sets the experience apart is the plethora of activities available within the resort. Whether you're an indoor enthusiast or an outdoor adventurer, there's something for everyone. Highly recommended for a memorable family stay in Germany's scenic Hochsauerland region.

Rooms: our VIP cottage was great, with sauna and whirlpool. Perfect relaxation after a day of skiing. Entertainment: unfortunately, we stayed during hurricane Zoltan, so it was raining every day. A lot of the outdoor activities weren't available, but the indoor ones were great and reasonably priced. Aqua Mondo: excellent, tropical paradise for children and adults. Personnel: always with a smile! Food: we ordered breakfast and dinner buffets at the Market Restaurant. A few improvements: 1) the cups used for tea and coffee should be renewed. They are all scratched and look really worn out. 2) the heating in the restaurant was too high, you are basically sweating if you just enter with your winter jacket. Turning it a little lower could save energy as well. 3) there will always be food waste at buffets, but some restaurants have introduced a penalty system, where guests are charged an extra fee for wasted plates of food. Sure, this will make some guests unhappy, but it's the correct way to do it

Our first visit to this Center Parcs and I have to say a thoroughly enjoyable experience, the staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The location is beautiful and the facilities are fantastic. The pool area is clean uncrowned unlike the villages I have visited in the UK. I was pleasantly surprised to see the on-site supermarket wasn’t over priced compared again to the UK equivalent villages. We are at the restaurants and ordered pizza to the house both reasonably priced and delicious. My son enjoyed the play park and animal centre and my daughters enjoyed mini golf and the bowling alleys. We visited at Christmas time and the decorations were really nice. My only complaint was the level of comfort of the accommodation, in today’s competitive market of Airbnb,s Center Parcs seems to be lagging behind, who has a 22” tv these days? Kitchen was very small with poor facilities, beds came with no bedding which we had to pay extra for, we also had to pay for towels very disappointing I have never stayed anywhere before where you have to pay for towels. The villas are tired and need a revamp (see photos) water stained ceilings, poor painting and overall outdated decor. That said despite the poor accommodation I would still highly recommend a visit because of the other facilities and the beautiful location.

Was amazing , our kids love it the adults loved it and would definitely return for some tranquility and fun. Explored the nearby village and woods by bike with the family too. The lazy river is the best.

This is Centerparcs the German way, the way I like it! The houses are spacious, a little more than what you usually get and they are well taken care off. Facilities indoor is the great swimming pool! Slides all around, the waterplayhouse which is big and exciting enough but also accessible for the little ones. The main pool has waves (not all the time off course), access to outside area with a current and the occasional portion of waves. The children area is also nicely located and large. There are also two hot tubs and several integrated areas with bubbles. The only thing that is missing is a wild-water attraction, but enough space and other things to enjoy. Other inside activities are the arcade, sport area and action factory but we skipped those because our kids are still so small. Outdoor there is a mountain golf and many playgrounds. The playgrounds are really nice, spaceous and well taken care of or brand new. The adventure 2.0 is the real main attraction, however more directed for older kids, ours (2 and 4) enjoy the regular playgrounds more because when the weather is good the place gets crowded of course :) the animal farm is also really nice to visit. Lastly, the restaurants are really worth mentioning, there is much choice, the food is good and there is enough variety to not get bored too soon :). We did mixed dinner with cooking in our house, the hardies restaurant and the buffet and enjoyed all. Buffet has beverages included, there is choice, food is good although we prefer other desserts :). Just be informed the buffet changes from theme but some themes are repeated throughout the week so you might end up with kind of the same buffet twice a week. For me not an issue, btw :). Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and we definitely plan on going back... at least a third time :)

Very nice place to go with family and friends. Many activities and the place is surrounded by beautifull nature. I recommend going to aventura or mountain biking through the surrounding nature. The swimming pool is also great! Fun waterslides and pool with waves.

The area is beautiful, the cabins were very well done just some tiny things could have been left better (when we first got here there were a few drink glasses that were broken). Staff overall are fairly rude and slow to help you. If you are looking for a nice area to bike in while also have fun things around you I'd recommend this. Would also recommend either renting a bike or bringing your own and exploring the "M6" route you can find in Medenbachs tourist center.

Great park with new houses. The Plaza (where the supermarket, Aqua mundo, restaurants and arcade are) is very nice!

Horrible service. My family wants to leave at 6:30 in the morning and we are not allowed to load our car the evening before. It's only allowed on the day of departure. Very unlogical, I need to drive once up to load the car anyway. It shouldn't matter if that's is the evening or during the morning.

Great expierence in the winter time, lots of activities to do with the family. The Aqua Mundo is also lots of fun. The only bad experience was with the service inside the Aqua Mundo Snack Bar, specifically the gentleman cashier was extremely impolite to his colleagues, they were all upset and uncoordinated. It took us 40 minutes to get some french fries and a burger, what was supposed to be fast food was pure chaos. Other than that we had a very good time, and will certainly come back on Summer time.

Love love love! Cannot wait to go back there again. Park wasn't too busy when we went. People are very friendly and food is great. Pool was bigger than expected. Fun kiddy pool. Outside swimming pool was really cosy.

Clean and fresh accomodation, good facilities, beautiful location. Kitchen could be better equipped for the number of people (we were in a house for 8 and there was one small chopping board, no large bowls etc.)

We stayed in a premium villa for 6 people. Everything was modern, clean and comfortable. Beds are wonderful and same for the shower. Food at the grill restaurant was tasty. We had the schnitzel (both onion and mushroom sauce) and they were well sized and the sauce was yum!!

The park as such is well suited when you suddenly plan for a trip during late autumn or winter. Lots of activities to keep the kids engaged for the whole day. The water play in aqua mundo is such a refreshing activity. They also have a small pool for babies where they have small slide where the babies can enjoy and have fun in water. Breakfast is too good for the money we pay. I gave four stars because the park has all its advantages whereas the place we stayed was not that good. We booked something called comfort villa but it didn’t have toiletries at least bathroom mats could’ve been provided. It was raining when we visited and because of no doormats the whole entrance was a mess. No lights in the kitchen area made it very difficult to cook in the evenings. All together, the park is a best choice whereas the place to stay is a bet we have to face.

Hotel was pretty old from the outside and hallways. Room was completely new including new bathroom. Slight leakage around the bathroom sink though. Swimming pool, mountain golf and game hall were fine. Dining options are plenty, a bit on the expensive side.

Family friendly place, directly to the mountains. Perfect to go with children

  • 4/5 Karl W. 3 years ago on Google
Almost 5 stars but the resturant choices at lunch were limited. Walking up the hill from restaurants to the accommodation was challenging with two small children. Also the swimming opportunities are currently limited to two 3hr sessions during one week.

It is a great place. The house we stayed in was very clean and comfy, there are playgrounds everywhere and quite a bunch of things to do with the kids while staying there. The central building, where all the restaurants and spare times activities are, are very nicely decorated on the inside with lots of plants and alleys, making you wish to stroll around and discover everything. Alone the food offered in the several restaurants is rather average. Which is a pity, because looking at the masses of people who were there during our stay, there is enough reason to consider focusing on kitchen improvements.
