PLEASE READ: This is my advice to anyone looking to rent an apartment in this city. When it comes to standing up for your rights, Mr. Lodge is ineffective, and they either can't or won't do anything in reality. When you request flow up, you can expect countless CC emails with no reply. It's a shame for Mr. Lodge's business that they can't even contact the home owner to inquire about upgrades. Defects in short-term contracts produce several problems with DEPOSIT payment; for example, shortly after we handed over the unit, the flat owner refused to react to us; she simply vanished, and Mr. Lodge appears to be unable to contact their customer. - contracts with no meaning - We have not had any requests for further costs or damages since then, even though she has a new tenant, but she refuses to return our DEPOSIT. - We paid all of our rents on time and in full, and we returned the flat cleaner than when we had it and in good shape. We didn't have any problems with her or her neighbors. - What you need to do is learn from others (a fast internet search will turn up a plethora of similar stories) and envision what would happen if it happened to you. Please do not give your money to the landlord; instead, put it on a German joint account (Kautionskonto) - Mr. Lodge will never tell you this and will not be able to get it back for you if you do - otherwise, they will spend your security deposit, and it appears that they will have difficulty returning it. Be aware that when you move out, the landlord will claim all existing damages against you, so first you move in, be cautious and take as many pictures as you can of any defects and email them to your landlord and rental company. Fortunately, we did the same subsequently to protect ourselves. Finally, it appears that we didn't need to use the services of a rental firm because nothing changed for us. You may just prepare yourself ahead of time by understanding your options and rights.

Beware of high/hidden fees! I used their service to find an apartment to rent in Germany. At the end of the stay I left the apartment cleaner then when I got it(with photo/video proof), and I got charged a lot of money for cleaning fees. Since I signed the contract through Mr Lodge I wrote to them about the issue but I never heard back. The issue with the made up and very high amount for cleaning a 30 square meters apartment still remains unresolved after a few months. I would suggest you do not do business with them.

They charged me around 40 euros for their transportation to my apartment (Fahrkosten) on the last day, which they deducted it directly from my deposit (Kaution). After spending 7 hours cleaning the apartment (19m2), I was still required to pay 207 euros at the end of my 6-month stay. Due to this experience, I will not recommend Mr. Lodge to any of my friends.

Very bad company , i dont recommend it at all , the landlords will take half of your deposit or more for sure, even if you are an excellent tenant( who pays on time, leave everything clean and fixed in the apartment, never make complains or problems) and they will also take advantage of you if you are a foreigner and not aware of the laws. Run run Be careful, the landlord accused us of missing item, which is pure lies as we made sure not to take anything that doesn’t belong to us, not even a spoon. (We are respected people and we have principles) But we can’t proof that and the landlord will use that for his benefit, plus he will charge double or 3 times the cost of the cleaning services, as they have their ways to manipulate through bills. Think a hundred time before you get involved in this. Mr. Lodge should protect its customers and make sure that we get our rights, and be able to make sure that the landlords wont abuse the system and laws for more money. I would not be this upset if we did something wrong or the landlord is fair and right, the truth is totally the opposite we were very careful, clean, respectful. Not fair at all

Although, I gave a 5-stars review a few months ago but now I was trying to find another apartment on Mr.Lodge because the current one is going to end soon. But I realised that they are so so bad in making customers happy. They have a very weird rules. even when you try to find a solution that will make both parties happy, they will easily say NO, without even discussing it with the landlord! Based on that I have decided that I will never use this website anymore because it's very expensive without providing any service. Also, this happened with me that the apartment price changes after you apply and this happened like 2 times which is weird, are you testing the demand or what exactly? without even saying sorry! So bad customer service. my advice here is try to find some other agencies where you could find more flexibility and people that really want to help you and make you happy!

I got a contract with them through my relocation company. It is a real disgrace! They offer temporary contracts and they still want you to fix everything in the flat. They handed me a flat with not functioning lightbulbs and I forced them to change them after the refused. Now I am about to leave the flat I have rented temporarily, and the key broke on the door lock. The lock specialist came and said it was a super old lock and keys, so he changed it and now not Mr. lodge or the landlord want to cover the bill! Is ridiculous that they want to charge me for increasing the value of a temporary rental. They hand in an apartment in a bad state (2 doors not working properly, balcony and entrance, half of lightbulb not working) and they are expecting that I repair it for the next client. Be aware of this service! Better deal directly with the landlords.

Both the apartment and the help provided by Mr. Lodge was great. They really helped me in many aspects as I was moving into Munich from abroad. The appartment was handed in great conditions super clean and they really worry about every detail. I realy recommend Mr. Lodge

I arrived in Munich knowing that house-hunting was a daunting task akin to job-hunting. Then I used the awesome services of Mr. Lodge and rented a furnished apartment in less than 2 weeks. I still cannot believe I finalised the very first apartment that I viewed. Firstly, Mr Lodge’s website is great: in English, easy-to-navigate with appropriate search-filters and transparent/trust-worthy with all crucial information (viz., all facilities/appliances/equipment within the apartment) with plenty of photos, maps and video of the apartment listed in an organised manner. The website helped me immensely to easily study/ browse through several furnished apartments in various localities of Munich and finally zero-in on the apartment that met my requirements. When Mr. Lodge arranged a viewing, the actual apartment and everything in it (even the fruit bowl) was exactly as shown & described on the website - you get what you see. Secondly, Mr Lodge’s processes and teams are highly efficient and proactive: I was able to view the apartment, finalise it and sign the contract in a couple of days. The handover happened in another couple of days. Mr Lodge took care of every formality, legality and all the paperwork. Mr. Lodge is truly the best for expats.

I recently had the opportunity to rent an apartment through Mr. Lodge, and overall, my experience has been positive. They have demonstrated efficiency and speed in finding me a suitable apartment, which is undoubtedly commendable. When it comes to addressing issues that arise during the rental period, they have consistently been on my side, ensuring that my concerns were heard and resolved promptly. This level of support has truly made my time as a tenant with Mr. Lodge much more comfortable and reassuring. However, I did encounter a slight setback once my tenancy ended. I noticed a significant difference in the responsiveness of their customer support and their handling of the security deposit issue. While they were quick to assist during my lease, the same level of speed and attention seemed lacking when it came to addressing my concerns regarding the security deposit. This discrepancy left me a bit disappointed as I expected their continued support even after the lease was over. I do understand that Mr. Lodge may face challenges in fully controlling the cooperation of landlords. In many cases, landlords may not be as willing to cooperate or adhere to the necessary processes, making it difficult for the company to expedite resolutions. It's evident that they try to advocate for the tenant's best interests, but their ability to influence landlords may be limited in certain situations. Despite these minor drawbacks, I am still pleased with the overall experience provided by Mr. Lodge. They have proven themselves to be efficient, supportive, and dedicated throughout my tenancy. While there may be room for improvement in certain areas, their commitment to assisting tenants and finding suitable accommodations is evident. I am happy to recommend Mr. Lodge to others based on my positive rental experience with them.

Horrible Landlords ! Looted all my deposit money ! Worst experience! Becareful ! I was staying in Schwabing area on last year. It is a quite small apartment, for which I paid 1450 euros/month and 2 months rent deposit. There is no exhaust fan in toilet and kitchen as well. The air is always circulating inside the apartment. Finally, I moved out from the apartment and also I organized the replacement tenant for the apartment. The landlord looted 1600 euros from my caution. He charged me for the : crack on the floor and wall , chair repair, sofa repair, mold formation in bathroom, bath matt, heater failure, cleaning service. I stayed only 4 months in this apartment. I never damaged anything in this apartment. But the landlord renovated the apartment with my deposit money. I made many times complaint to Mr.lodge at the beginning but no actions were taken. The landlord is very unfriendly, harsh and impolite. I was always with stress and frustrated because of the landlord. I simply trusted Mr.lodge and signed the agreement with this landlord. Finally got stuck. I don't understand how come Mr.lodge has tied up with this kind of landlord and is giving more trouble to foreigners. After signing the rental agreement, Mr.Lodge was not involved in anything. I never recommend Mr.Lodge.

Mr Lodge provides a service where finding an apartment specifically in Munich becomes relatively easy. The contract has both German and English version makes it specifically attractive for non German speakers However, the clause of the contract is essentially in favour of landlords. The negative point is the cleaning fee which is entirely dependent on the landlord and the fee is significantly high and unreasonable. So be careful and negotiate it before hand .

Totally depends on how lucky you are to get a good landlord (which is very rare). Mr. Lodge does not care much when you leave and it will always try to satisfy the landlord (even when the truth is very clear and the tenant is a victim). Obviously this is because the landlord is the real long term customer for them. Not recommended at all.

I was afraid to rent my apartment at first because I could not see it before signing the contract and paying for the deposit as I was living in Denmark at the time. However, it was all very smooth and clear. The apartment was as per the description and all comunication with Mr Lodge has been very accessible. I for sure recomend renting an apartment with them as a starter to have some firm ground when moving to Munich. : )

Very accommodating. I asked around at different agencies and relocation services to help me find an apartment for my master's study. Mr Lodge was the only one eager to help, they advised me about the market, and statutory requirements. They helped me search for and secure an apartment though I was overseas. They provided all the way assistance in moving in, handover the keys, preparing the required documents and provided with some tips and advices on energy saving, waste disposal and general living in Munich. Moving into a new country and then looking for apartments, especially in Munich, is a tricky business. Szilvia Cseresznyes has been extremely helpful. Overall, I know Mr. Lodge doesn't allow to physically view the apartments, but the video and pictures do match the description. Also, they are very responsive and do provide extensive advice on 'living in Munich' and liabilities insurance.

I asked Mr. Lodge to find tenants for my furnished flat in Munich. They offered me tenants within 24 hours. The preparation of the Exposé and its publication online was completed in a very short time. Mr. Lodge also took care of the apartment handover. The communication in English with the whole team was very smooth. The team is very responsive. Every step of the rental process was carried out in a very professional manner. I am completely satisfied.

Finding an apartment in Munich is well know as almost a mission impossible. However, a friend of mine recommended Mr. Lodge and I focus on them to help me out. They were very responsive and kind, updating me the progress or not of the negotiations in a timely manner. Everything was great since the very first contact to the handover of the apartment. Very reliable service providers! Very rare to find such level of assistance.

Very nice service to start living in Germany with furnished apartment. However not so good experience when we were leaving apartment. You should forget your deposit money towards rent as they will find problems during your exit.

I want with this review to describe my personal experience after renting an apartment through MrLodge during the second semester of 2022. The price was decent regarding the service of MrLodge and the quality of the apartment. My apartment was at Perchastraße, in a recently constructed building. It was clean, safe, quiet, spacious, thermally insulated, very warm during freezing temperatures of December (down to -14 Celsius during the night), cool during the warmer months of summer. It had a great view of a quiet green garden and a wonderful balcony. All home appliances and furniture were like new and well preserved. The most important thing was the customer support of MrLodge team, they were professional and everyone I interacted with, spoke English fluently, making my life easier since I was not a fluent German speaker and felt safer communicating in English. The contract was clear, detailed, in both German and English, without hidden charges. Previous reviews made me hesitant to use Mrlodge services because some of them mentioned problems regarding the refund of deposits to the tenants. My contract ended on 30th of December 2022 and after 3 days, on January 2nd of 2023, I received the deposit refund in my bank account! My landlord was helpful throughout my 6 months stay in the apartment, very polite, always replying to my messages and I wish I could have met her in person. I even referred a colleague of mine (who would succeed me for the next semester in Munich) to my landlord as the next potential tenant for the apartment and she politely refused and asked me to refer him to Mrlodge instead. Such services form companies like Mrlodge and the landlords they choose to cooperate with, should be praised for their quality. I have nothing negative to report. I am grateful for the integrity and professionalism of both my landlord and MrLodge employees. I recommend them 100%. Thank you for your services. I wish you the best for the future!!!!

TLDR: Extreme professionalism, stellar customer service. My experience with any other renting agency in Munich was worse than walking on broken glass, and then I found Karolina from Mr. Lodge. Her response was almost instant. She was proactive by sending me a better offer to what I initially chose. I have asked for alteration to the rental contract to which the landlord was against. However, Karolina was able to negotiate exactly what I asked for while keeping me updated all the time.

When we booked accomodation in Munich it was handled very well. Good service received. They kept us in the loop at all times.
