Insect
Museum
in
TNAU
is
the
first
and
unique
museum
of
its
kind
located
inside
the
TNAU
campus,
Coimbatore.
It
has
specimens
and
collections
of
insects
of
economical
and
ecological
importance.
Huge
collections
of
insects
are
preserved
and
decorated
into
various
shapes
and
structures
which
looks
impressive.
Firstly,
you
will
be
recieved
by
a
huge
Albezia
tree
trunk
which
has
manually
carved
insects
of
each
of
the
29
major
orders
of
the
Class
Insecta.
Next,
you
will
see
a
huge
wooden
carving
of
Violin
mantis
which
appears
as
if
it
welcomes
you.
You
will
see
a
large
number
of
different
types
of
insects
ranging
from
beneficial
insects,
Insect
pests
and
insect
of
ecological
importance.
There
are
some
interesting
things
about
insects
kept
in
the
museum
like
artifacts
made
of
insects,
edible
insects,
movies
made
based
on
insects
and
literary
works
describing
insects.
At
last
,
you
will
find
termite
hills
and
other
interesting
things
here.
Fee
is
₹
50/-
for
adults
and
₹
30
/-
for
students
and
children
if
they
have
ID
card.
No
photography
or
videography
is
allowed
inside
the
museum.
