A beautiful temple with very positive vibrations. BEAUTIFUL Ambal. The priests take lots of pains to do a wonderful alankaram for all Moorthies. A great garden, a shop for spiritual books, a shop selling things required for Pooja, regular homams conducted ( on request from devotees also done) A GREAT calm, quiet peaceful temple and great service by all staff members.

Owned & managed by Sri Shringeri Saradha Mutt, the cleanliness & the riligious rituals & poojas , unique characteristic of the Mutt, makes this Temple very special for handful of devotees from the city to visit here. If one wants to visit a Temple, without much crowd, but with more serenity & divinity, then this is the one.

Want to feel the divine presence? This is a place to feel it. Peace, a sense of being part of the universe and the reverberations of Vedic chants (they have a Veda Patshala there) - all this you will experience, rejuvenating your being, every time you visit this temple.

Beautiful temple . The house od Goddess is some what broader, wide and spacious. Main Karpagrha is Goddess Saradhambal alias Mahalakshmi. One can keep on seeing the goddess without blinking their eyes as she is si beautiful and glorious . Unlike in many temples it is well lighted and the goddess is golden beauty. Sorry again I missed the photos. Renovation of the grounds is going on . Parking is a small problem on auspicious days.

The temple, dedicated to Goddess Sharadambal, is situated in Race Course Road, a prime locality of Coimbatore. It is built following the Sringeri Mutt regulations. There are sannadhis for Ganapathy, Subrahmanya, Adhi Shankara and Sharadhambal. A peaceful and quiet place, just away from the main road. One can experience divine bliss here. A visit is worth.

Sharadha Amman is one of the rarest form of Amman, unlike the other furious Ammans, She is seen with a pleasing face, lovely appeal and calm features. She is the goddess of wisdom and intellectual knowledge. Along with Sharada Devi’s shrine, there are shrines of Lord Ganapathy, Lord Muruga and Acharya Sri Sankara. The main idol of the goddess is made of five metals (impon), usually the combination of five metals is more powerful, hence the anointment milk from the idol is considered to be very precious and has healing powers. Devotees visit this temple to shine in their studies, succeed in their exams and gain wisdom. The goddess graces peacefully with honey pot in one hand and book in other hand. The very first sight of the Goddess will spur our intellectual spirit. This temple is held in par with Sringeri Sharadhamba Mutt. The ones who are unable to visit Sringeri Mutt in Karnataka, can visit this temple and seek the goddess’s blessing. The legend has it that in the seventh century, Sri Abhinava Vidya Theeratha Maha Swamigal erected the first Mutt in the Thungabadra river, and installed Goddess Sharadha ambika. Soon fame of the goddess reached heights and people from all over the world started to visit this temple. Once an industrialist from Coimbatore came to see Sri Abhinava Vidya Theeratha Maha Swamigal, and sought his blessing to build a temple for Sharadha Ambika at his home town. In the meanwhile, philanthropist Sulur Nanjunda Iyer of Coimbatore came to see Adigalar, the Saint asked him to donate some land of his to build Sharadhambika temple. The philanthropist readily donated his one acre land and a temple was built by the industrialist.

This temple resonates with a soothing ambience that invokes piety. Managed by Shri Sringeri Math, the aradhanas performed with tradition and devotion that is hallmark of Sri Sringeri Math. A must visit in Coimbatore, for Darshan and certainly for sitting a while to meditate. The temple also host a Veda Patshala (school) where young children learn Vedas under tutelage. If you so desire, donate to the patshala to sustain and promote Vedic traditions. God bless us all.
