A traditional market, old lady's selling their own fruits and vegetables. It's like to travel in time

In the middle a lot of stalls with fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and spices. In the outer aisles - next to the walls you can find fresh seafood (raw not cooked). Market was renovated so everything is clean and sexy.

I really love this public Mercado. They have very good collections of everything from produce, meats, fish, fruits, flowers etc to restaurants, clothes etc. we mostly shop here for almost everything a few times a week. All of the merchants are super nice and friendly. Please shop here and support local businesses.

Firstly, I got affordable beef and fruits. The elderly sales market women are pleasant. Though mainly Portuguese speaking, love to assist and guide...as I personally experienced. With less than 15 euros I got nearly over a week's supply of vegetables and beef 😋

excellent local market. 2 floors of cheese and vegetables and fruits and meats and flowers and fish... this is where the locals shop so don't expect the shopkeepers to speak English.

What a large variety of fruits and veggies to pick from. I love to get there, walk around the entire place at least once to get an idea of what is available and them start from the beginning again and make my purchases. Many vendors are willing to help you with your Portuguese if you want to struggle and get some native assistance on pronunciation.

Wonderful place to get fresh fish, meats, cheeses, vegetables and fruits. Grab a coffee and cake upstairs or buy a bunch or two of flowers.

The restaurant offering hamburgers and other dishes inside the market takes more than 45 mins to prepare 3 meals and those meals don’t worth a penny. A complete shame and dishonor on the Portuguese cuisine. Tourist trap. Far from being home made fresh food expected in a traditional market.

Excellent urban market on two levels. Fresh fruit and veggies. Fish. And many vendors for food and drink. There's also programming. Attended a beer festival here earlier this year.

I have been noticing that these markets must be newer and a bit touristy with the food options and prices. Enjoyed the live music and big screen futbol match. But food was not great and not too cheap. 3rd or 4th mercado municipal thinking it would be local etc but not so much. Don't waste your time looking for good food here.

We loved walking around this market as the store-holders, butchers and grocers were lovely and the fresh produce was amazing. We shopped for all the fresh ingredients for our week here. The fish market was also great. We ate lunch here too. Hopefully they will soon expand into the whole of their renovated market. Good value.

A nice place to buy produce and products in Porto while walking around downtown. Mostly tourists, but in heart of Porto residential area. Worth the walk from City Hall.

Great stop for a “picnic” lunch! The whole family shared some fresh fruit, veg, cheese and bread from some of the vendors and our bellies were happy and filled. Probably the cheapest meal of the trip (which is saying a lot bc Portugal is so inexpensive)

What a wonderful place to happen upon! Many vendors selling their wares. Fruits vegetables cheeses the best bread you will ever eat, butchers, freshly caught fish fully dressed! Stopped here shortly after we arrived in Coimbra and ended up snacking on cheese, grapes, peaches, figs, olives, and freshly baked bread!

Meh. Not really local produce, more of an outlet store feel. Very friendly vendors.
