Beautifully kept gardens, by Lake Colac. Close to main shops. I came on a very hot day to enjoy my lunch break. The hot northerly wind cools downs slightly over the lake, so sitting on the lawns in the shade was refreshing. There are plenty of benches, BBQs, picnic tables, playgrounds, public toilets and great views of the lake. Also, plenty of bird life. You can drive around the gardens and park right where you want to stop for a rest or picnic. My favourite stop in Colac.

Amazing place to go with kids or just for a walk. It was really cool to see the flying foxes for the first time.

This has been our stop to walk dogs and do bbq on the way to or home. We come here on a convoy with our family and extended family. We love walking in the Botanical garden, small but you’ll find rare beauties inside and it’s not huge that will spoil the light walk. The lake is also nice and found people caught fish from it. There is also a cafe within the caravan park or sometimes there is a mobile cafe in a van. Ample parking and clean bbq and toilet facility.

A serene space to meander through and take in the beauty and energy of nature that overlooks Lake Colac. The gardens are very well maintained with many spots to sit and relax. Theres a cafe, toilets and a playground for kids of all agesπŸ˜‰. My only suggestion would be to stop cars driving through as many drove too fast and most likely didn't get to enjoy what was on offer and plus its a safety issue. There's plenty of parking outside so maybe restrict the access to walking only. Definitely worth a visit. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Great environment. Lots of old trees and huge variety of different plants. Nice to walk through on a Tuesday afternoon. And the bats!

The gardens have always been a lovely place to visit. Also the Lake Cafe for a main meal or take away.

Lovely gardens, and friendly people in Colac. Nice place to walk the dog without being chomped at by overly large, dangerous- looking dogs off leashes all the time in Warrnambool.

Came here on a nice sunny day. Saw people fishing down at the beach, people walking their dogs on leashes Nd picnic tables were available too.

A peaceful, well maintained garden by the lake. We got food from Woolworths and made a picnic among the trees. A bit damp but relaxing to watch the leaves drift down in the wind. Don't touch the bats. You run the risk of being bitten and contracting Lyssavirus. Free entry. There is a cafe next to the gardens too.

Nice garden it is well maintained and cared for the caravan park is also a nice place to stay if you are traveling and staying in Colac . Nice walking track with lake views along and around the lakes for sure . At night it's peaceful and you can see lights all around . There is plenty of wild life birds, ducks . The walking track goes either way from the jetty right around to Stoddard's playground or the other direction past the caravan park through the bird sanctuary right through to the far east end of Colac . The garden it's self has a track around the garden with fountains trees and nice views passes a beautifully cafe a cricket ground yatch clubs there's tracks that go along the barongarooke river under and around bridges past schools and Esplanade past scout halls information centres shopping arcades trianlines connects to main Street that lead one direction or the other that passes nursing homes age care facilities fuel stations schools gyms major sporting grounds you will pass new and old housing development s it has really evolved over the years and is really enjoyable neat tidy . Overall great track . Get walking check it out make your own route 😊

😠 This place is terrible! The campground manager and the showground manager are both very rude and aggressive, they charge you to use the dump point and to get water. The park fees are outrageous, they are charging caravan Park fees when it is just a showground. Don't waste your time considering this...
