    I wanted to share my experience with Dollar Car Rental at the airport in Atlanta. The experience was not the best to say the least. There was a huge line to pick up your rental when you arrived to the kiosk. The line took approximately an hour to make and then you are to wait for the rental to be ready which took another hour and a half. A total process or 2.5-3 hours just to pick up a rental. In addition, they require you to give a deposit on a credit card (which is fine because I had one). However , for the poor individuals that did not have a credit card. They required a very high deposit of $500 AND a credit check. One of the reps was not nice to a customer who had this type of experience. They down talk the customer and do not speak in a professional manner. I would not recommend this to anyone. I would much rather pay a higher rental amount to deal with another company based on my most recent experience. Once the car was received and dropped off it was much more smooth sailing and that is why I have provided at least two star rating out of 5.

    This has to be the worst car rental company in the US, they are better at delays and inefficient services than car rental service. They should probably change their business to delays and inefficient services they are very good at that , rather than renting cars. Got there at 9 am in the morning after making my reservation almost a month before the date, I was told to wait 2 hours to pick up a car, after being charged a non refundable fee so I couldn’t cancel . Whoever owns this business should consider doing something else . This is madness!!!

    If you have a reservation for 10:30am you will wait 1-2 hours in line and then an additional two hours for your car. They have no representatives to keep you updated on the status of your reservation. If you have your day planned be prepared to cancel your whole itinerary. They literally have people sitting on the floor waiting for cars. I have never experienced this in my car rental journey over the years. Worse rental company in Atlanta airport!

    BEWARE! I don't usually leave reviews, but do NOT waste your time with this company. My son's team had a tournament in ATL. When we showed up to pick up our rental at 10:40pm the line was extremely long, so we patiently waited for about 1 hour. Then one of the employees announced for everyone in line that they had no vehicles. They were trying to have vehicles transported to the airport and it was a minimum of 3 hour wait. We were about to leave when we decided to go upstairs to see if we could rent a car from any other company without a reservation. We ended up finding a car with AVIS for double the price. We were told that they have been doing it for at least the past 7 months, prices are super low but hours of wait, IF you even get a car. Other players from the team ended up waiting for over 3 hours.

    Terrible experience. First, they didn't have the car in stock. The car did not have a full tank. A whole bunch of scratches and damages on the car, which they said were being "scanned" through the video system. Despite the fact that I had super comprehensive insurance, they claimed at the counter that the existing coverage did not include everything and wanted to sell me another additional insurance, which I refused. However, they added some kind of roadside assistance assistance to the bill, which I neither asked for, nor did they even tell me that they had added it. They just attributed it next to it. $100 for 10 days. Thieves. Just stay away from them because they cheat at every turn.. I'm not at a loss for words about the long line and waiting...

    If I could rate them a zero I would. Arrived at Atlanta airport with a prepaid reservation. Waiting on line for an hour and a half. Then after getting checked in we have to wait for 2 hours more for the actual car. The worst rental car company I have ever used. Will never use again. Please don’t rent from Dollar. Remember I warned you if you do. Photo of the 1.5 hour line

    I have patience, a lot of patience…but this is absurd. My flight landed at 2PM, it’s currently 6PM and I am sitting on the floor at the Atlanta airport with my 2 children STILL waiting for my rental. I stood in line for 2+hrs to process my 3PM reservation, so I could then make the 5 hour drive this evening down to spend time with family and get there at a decent time. There’s little to no regard for the customers or their needs. A woman waiting for her rental / name to be called, needed to take her infant child to the bathroom, missed her name and the agent told her she had to wait longer / for another car. I won’t be renting with this company again. Please, if you value your time, spend the little extra $ and go with another rental company.

    I rented a car at Atlanta airport with rental contract starting last night. After a 17 hour flight I arrived at the Dollar rental counter and about 70 people were waiting in line to get processed. I calculated that I would have to wait for at least 2 hours before my turn, but I was tired, so I decided to take an UBER, go home and return in the following morning. This morning around 100 people waited in line but as I had already paid for the car I decided to wait. After around 1.5 hour an announcement was made that anybody who had made a reservation within the last 2 days could leave as there were no cars available. They were asked to demand a refund and go to a different rental company. When it was my turn after total waiting time of 2h15 minutes they could not find the reservation in the system and when I started pushing they just moved to the next client ignoring me. I lost my temper after which they declared that they would not give me a car, even if they found me in the system, because of my impoliteness. I should ask for a refund. I then walked over to SIXT and got myself another car. I am now fighting for a refund. I have never been treated like this. It seems they take it for granted that clients are waiting for over 2 hours to pick up a car. There are no apologies, there is just an unbelievable attitude. It is sickening. What I also should mention: Whoever was handed a key to a car still had to wait for up to 2 hours in the parking lot to get a car. My conclusion: A bakery would do a better job renting out cars. It impossible to overestimate the incompetence level of Dollar rental company. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star to post this review. But I want to make this very clear. Zero stars would be too much. If anybody from Dollar company reads this review. Don't answer to me. You are dead. I do not want to hear apologies. Just dig yourself a hole.

    WORST EVER! FIRST OFF, IF YOU SEE ANY REVIEW FOR THIS COMPANY IN ATLANTA AIRPORT OR THRIFT RENTAL AS WELL THAT IS MORE THAN 1 STAR THEN YOU BETTER IGNORE IT!!! SERIOUSLY, YOU WILL THANK ME LATER! I wish I could give negative stars. My plane landed at 1:15pm today , I rushed to get to the rental car area as quickly as possible. At about 1:30 I found the dollar rental desk with a line of more than 200 people ahead of me (yes, I did a head count) Absolutely ridiculous, stood in line for 3 hours just to get to the clerk. (NOTE-THIS WAS A RESERVATION THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN PREPAID FOR A WEEK IN ADVANCE) After the 3 hour line and checking in with the clerk, i was informed it was another 2 hour or more wait until they would have a rental ready for me. This is a daily routine here at this company. The clerk even told me, its always like this. I didn't get into a rental until almost 7pm. Almost 6 hour wait! STAY AWAY! Wish I had read these reviews before having to experience this. There were hundreds of people in line and sitting all over the floor or anywhere they could find to sit while waiting on their name to be called for their rental. This isn't a one time thing either... it's been going on for years... you are guaranteed to sit and wait HOURS before you get a rental! The picture I'm posting doesn't even do the justice of how bad it was there! I had a video of how long the line actually was but it won't let me post it. AVOID IT!

    The worst experience car rental experience I have ever had. I was travelling with my family which included a little one as well. I booked the rental well in advance hoping I don't have to wait for the car. To our surprise there was a long queue to get to the counter, took nearly an hour the speak to someone only to be informed that if would take 2-4 hours of time to hopefully get the car. Was even told that to just sit around and not walk away as they just shout-out for the name and we are supposed to be there to respond. I waited with my family for nearly 2 hours and still no sign of rental car for me or for others who were waiting before us. I eventually walked up to the counter and informed I would like to cancel my booking only to be gladly accepted by the person. Finally I ended up going to Enterprise, made the booking and walked out with the car, all in 15 minutes. I so regret booking Dollar Car Rental and have learnt a lesson. Never ever am I gonna even consider them and hope this review helps others to stay away as well.

    Avoid at all costs!!!! Worst place to rent a car by far! We waited there for a couple of hours and left because the clerk did not know for sure if they were going to have any available cars in 5 hours!!!! Just imagine getting off of a flight to pick up your RESERVED car, and they dont even know if they are going to have a car for an previously reservation. We made a reservation MONTHS before, and the day scheduled, they didn't have any cars available. How is that even possible? Now we are going to make a dispute with the credit card to see if we can be refunded for a service that we payed but was not available? How is it possible that they keep booking but they don't have availability? We end up leaving and renting a car at last minute thru TURO at a better price and we actually got a car

    The worst rental experience of my life! 4 (!) Hours quing with another approx 200 angry customers. Starting my way to the counter at 14:30 hours. Got my reserved car after 20:00 hours! Only 2 out of 10 possible counters posts was manned. Never will reserve again with that company. You save a couple of bucks and losing lots of time!!!

    One of the worst experiences ever. I am a Dollar Express member but I don’t see what good it does me. Because I booked on a third party site I was not allowed into the expedited service line. Maybe if Dollar offered its best rates to loyal customers, people wouldn’t use all the third party sites. That’s how they get you I guess! Once my reservation was processed I was told there would be at least an hour wait for a car. This is unacceptable. Reservations are supposed to guarantee availability. If you take a reservation, but you don’t have a car ready for the customer, you fundamentally don’t understand how a reservation works. I feel like I’m living in an episode of Seinfeld. And again, I’m a member of their rewards program. If they treat me this poorly, imagine how they treat the average customer. This used to be my go-to rental car agency. I can’t recommend this business anymore. The photo shows the people that were told they’d have to wait another 90 minutes AFTER waiting in this line.

    Don’t book with Dollar or Thrifty. I’ve been here since 10:30 am. It’s now 3:00pm and I still have no car. Waited in line for 2hrs until a customer service representative was able to assist me and take my form of payment. After taking my payment they mention it would be an additional 5 hours before you would receive a car! Why take people’s hard earned money for you to not have vehicles on hand. Horrible system, and company. I don’t see myself booking in the future and neither should you.

    Do not use them! 2h in line with over a hundred people behind us they announced that it will be at least another 3h before we get our reserved rental. Building is packed. Person at the counter charged our card for accident insurance even though we declined. She said it's airport taxes... receipt which we got 30min later shows otherwise.. I'll be declining that with my credit card.

    You can't be in a rush to go any where because the line at Dollar/Thrify takes an hour+. The insulting part is there is no respect for a reservation AND once you get there you still have to wait up to 2 hours for a car. I would've passed out if it wasn't for the protein bar in my bag...the guy next to me was just called for his car- 45mins later. People are sitting on the floor, holding up the windows- how is this ok? Unacceptable.

    My first time hiring with Dollar and via ATL airport, not sure I'll return too quickly. - Incredibly long queue and wait (well over an hour) and not all agents present. - Our reserved class car was not available/held for us. We were given a so called upgrade, but the "upgraded" car was smaller than what we reserved and a disappointment. - The car had not been cleaned properly, was not in an optimal state (technically all good/safe though).

    Great service. Line was long, but the wait wasn't that bad at all! Service was awesome. Car was dirty and had a few dings, which I'm hoping they don't try to blame us for. That's why I took these photos before we left and some soon after. No floor mats... but the car is nice and all else is well. It's a 2020 acura RDX SH-AWD with all the bells and whistles. Would definitely be back for the Tesla 3 😁.

    Absolutely horrible service. Rented a car two weeks before going to Atlanta. Get off the plane go to pick up my car and the line is 2hours long. While standing on line a representative makes an announcement saying that even after filling out all the necessary paperwork it could still take up to two hours to receive a car. What is the point of making a reservation if you are not able to honor the reservation in the first place?? My reservation was for 10:30 and I am still currently standing on the line to get to the counter. Never again!!!

    I have made a reservation 3 weeks ahead of time but on my day of arrival, I get to the rental customer service area, and clearly things were overbooked for the memorial Day holiday weekend. There were literally over 200+ people in line. The line was moving extremely slow. I ended up waiting for over 2.5 hours. A customer service clerk announced that at whichever point that we made it to the front desk, that it would be at least a 4 hour wait for the rental car. That was not acceptable to me. I had to cancel. I had waited long enough. Extremely disappointing experience with Dollar.

    I have never seen such disregard for people's time. The lines were long and the staff rude. The service was poor and the quality of automobiles suck. Do yourself a favor spend the extra money and get your vacation started quicker. 2 hours in line. If I hadn't paid for the vehicle already I would have left. I Had edit my review because getting checked outside was worse. Slow as heck. Ok how hard is it to check the car and check the ID, well for the workers at this location really hard. My goodness Dollar needs to shutdown

    If I could rate this company's service with less than five stars, I would do so without hesitation. I waited in line for almost two hours only to be met with extreme rudeness from the attendant. She claimed I was violating the company's guidelines by waiting in line with a companion and threatened to cancel my reservation. Absurd! When I tried to reason, I was met with laughter and disdain, an entirely unacceptable attitude. It's disturbing to witness such treatment towards customers by a company. The attendant justified her actions by mentioning she was simply following orders from the manager, and when I asked for her name, she laughed and stated she wouldn't provide it due to company privacy policies. Disorganized and unprepared employees for handling complex situations undermine the company's reputation. It's disappointing, especially during the festive season, to see other attendants in different companies radiating friendliness while this person disrespected customers. The lack of consideration and respect for those who fund their salaries is alarming. The outcome of the situation, with the abrupt cancellation of my reservation and the use of disrespectful words like "GET LOST" to a customer who patiently waited in line, is unacceptable. She refused to identify herself, despite being the only woman with short blonde hair and wearing a prescription glasses at the service counter. This experience reflects the company's lack of commitment to customer service and respect. As a manager in a renowned company, I strongly recommend reconsidering your approach and training to ensure a more professional and welcoming environment for customers. I do not recommend this company to anyone. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE!

    Stay away from Dollar at Atlanta Airport. We got there with a pre paid reservation and were told there were no cars. If we wanted to wait it was going to be more than 5 hours. The counter employee delivered this news without any sympathy, she was blank staring into the computer when she said that to us. No solution or alternative, she just said we could cancel and get a refund. We had to rent a car from another company and paid so much more money for only 2 days just to get us to our final destination. Now we are trying to figure out how to afford another car rental for the other 5 days of our stay. I am so bummed our vacation was ruined. Thanks Dollar, I hope I get my refund. But I will also report you to the Consumer Protection agency or whatever is called.
